I just have so many questions-
youtube
A friend of mine sent me a gift of Trey singing in the shower. I've only just now went to find out what the hell he was doing. Turns out! Kenny Ortega made a show called Hull High in 1990 and up there is the first episode but I've yet to find more
I think also a good handful of newsies were in this but sometimes its very crunchy to see them, Trey obviously, Marty Belafsky (Crutchy) Dee Caspary (Snitch) and maybe Mark David (Specs) Michael Goorjian) but also at the same time its hard bc the video was crunchy
anyways im gonna rethink my life

Everything we Know About Snitch
He probably got his nickname because he’s good at stealing or does it often.
Alternatively, he could have gotten his name because he’s a tattletale.
He is often seen with Mush, Kid Blink, and Itey, so they’re probably his friends. (Newsies Analysis Part 8: Rooftop and High Times) (Newsies Analysis Part 1: Carrying the Banner)
He sucks his thumb, which could be showing that he’s young (or maybe he just never broke the habit). (Newsies Analysis Part 1: Carrying the Banner)
He was played by Dee Caspary
Snitch has a long, oval shaped face, straight blonde hair, and oddly dark eyebrows.

Top 6 Duet Rankings
9. Chillando Goma (Gaby/Lex samba), Sasha Farber
Alright, this wasn't good lol. It wasn't remotely the worst samba ever or anything... in fact, it was better than Taylor and Robert's from earlier in the season, but Lex did not have the feel for this at all. Though I did enjoy watching Gaby since she's done more ballroom this season than her own lmao. Also those outfits were awful.
8. Knock on Wood (Koine/Lex disco), Doriana Sanchez
So, who else remembers that this routine already existed? And it was way better when Sara and Neil did it. I don’t know why they reused the song and put Koine in pretty much the same color Sara wore. They didn’t even mention that something like this had happened before. But anyway, Koine was great and gave it her all, but Lex was visibly tired throughout this whole thing and I was very scared during most of those lifts. I really wish Doriana would chill with the lifts, especially when you have someone like Lex who isn’t exactly The Rock. Luckily he wasn’t seriously injured, but that was scary.
7. Proud Mary (Jenna/Kiki jazz), Ray Leeper
Ray Leeper, you’re fired. No, but really. He could have given Kiki and Jenna anything in the world. Not only did we have to see them dance jazz YET AGAIN, Ray gave them the most basic, uninspired routine ever. The best thing about this routine was the song tbh. Kiki did a good job performing, but I think choreographers feel limited with him in these styles since he can’t even lift his leg. I still think Ray could have pulled out something a little more creative than something that might as well have been a jive with no actual jive steps.
6. G**** (Taylor/Logan jazz), Mark Kanemura
If you’re wondering why I refuse to write out the title of this, that word is a racial slur towards Romani people and I’ve completely cut it out of my vocabulary. If you’ve never heard that before, I encourage you to read up on it and see how much this word has been used to hurt people in the past and the present. So I was already biased against this routine because this song is pretty tasteless. I can tell Mark put a lot of his heart into this routine, which is why I don’t hate it, but it was hard to see other people dancing like Mark, lol. It looked better on Logan, who was also much MUCH better at dancing with abandon than Taylor was no matter what the judges said. Logan looked free and happy and I will never stop being impressed by his extensions and leaps. Taylor wasn’t terrible, but as usual, she seemed to be holding back with her body even though I do think her performance and chemistry with Logan was pretty good. But um. Yeah, racist song, no bueno.
5. Gallan Goodiyaan (Kaylee/Kiki Bollywood), Nakul Dev Mahajan
I can’t believe they actually gave Kaylee a Bollywood routine lmfao. But hey, for what it’s worth, I actually liked this. The constuming department seemed intent on never puting Kaylee in clothes that match her hair/look nice on her, but this was cute. The concept was finally something other than “girl is in love with dude” that Nakul insists on. I didn’t expect these two to have any chemistry considering how stilted their package was, but they looked like they were having fun together. I don’t know, I know this isn’t super amazing or anything, but I find it so charming because of these two that it’s probably my guilty pleasure of the season, lol.
4. Numb & Getting Colder (Robert/Taylor hip-hop), Keone and Mari Madrid
Far and away the best Taylor has done out of contemporary/jazz. Keone and Mari have a very weird style of hip-hop that I don’t always..get, for lack of a better word, but this routine seemed different from most things that they do. The jumpsuits were odd, but I enjoyed a lot of the little details, like when Taylor and Robert froze and did the ticks to the beat both times, or towards the end when they just moved their legs while facing each other. They definitely got lucky with this type of stylized hip-hop.
3. The Other Side (Allison/Logan contemporary), Dee Caspary
Man, I get so upset when I see Logan dance and remember that he didn’t make the finale. (And he never got a real hip-hop!!) I know this was supposed to be sexy or something, but I didn’t really get that vibe from this? It felt more...raw, I guess? I think part of it is that I just can’t see these two in a sexual manner because it creeps me out, but I don’t think it lessened my enjoyment of the routine. There were a lot of cool things in here, but my favorite was when they finally danced in unison towards the end. The whole thing came alive for me at that moment, and I wish they had gotten to dance in unison for longer. I didn’t really get the whole rose thing, though. Like...what was this routine even about again??
2. Die Trying (Cyrus/Kaylee hip-hop), Phillip Chbeeb
I am sooooo glad that Phillip’s choreography was given to people who did it justice this time! Phillip has so many cool ideas and I hope we get to see more of them if the show comes back. Anyway, I’ve always thought that Kaylee and Cyrus had good chemistry, but I think something broke through for this particular dance. They seemed connected on every possible level. Even the moments when they were just looking at each other were powerful to me, and it seemed like Kaylee trusted him wholeheartedly and just wanted to dance. I think a lot of pressure was off her shoulders since she was sure she was going home and she was able to dance with abandon. It was great to see. Also, some of those lifts? How did they even happen? The one where Cyrus flipped on her waist and then Kaylee went around his entire body like three times? The fuck? I don’t normally like lifts in hip-hop, but that was really cool. I’m also glad they didn’t spend too much time doing stuff in the ladder as that would have ruined the entire thing. (Also Mary’s backhanded compliments. Lol this show.)

NSU presents Nth Degree to alumnus, businessman J.W. Stine
Tumblr media
NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University honored alumnus J.W. Stine of Sulphur with the Nth Degree, a special award that recognizes an individual for meritorious service to others.  Stine, a World War II veteran combat pilot and long-time Louisiana businessman and philanthropist, celebrated his 100th birthday July 22.
Stine was born to Sulphur residents Andrew Stine and Elma Landry Stine and attended Sulphur High School, where he played quarterback for four years. He enrolled at Normal College, as NSU was then known, on a football scholarship in 1939 and lived in Caspari Hall, then a men’s dormitory.  He left school to join the U.S. Army Air Corps, now the U.S. Air Force, in 1943 and was sent overseas in 1944.
Just before he left to serve overseas, he married his high school sweetheart Dorris “Dee Dee” Drost in 1944.  They were married 67 years until her passing in 2011 and raised six sons and one daughter. Stine has 31 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.
In World War II, Stine flew more than 40 combat missions as pilot of a B-26 Marauder in the 17th Bombardment Group, which conducted missions against targets throughout the Mediterranean, Italy, France and Germany.
After the war Stine and a friend started a construction company and later a lumber company in Sulphur, now called Stine Lumber Company. He became the sole owner in 1973 and all six of his sons joined the family business. Headquartered in Sulphur, the company employs 850 associates at 10 locations in Louisiana and one in Mississippi. Although he has been retired for many years, Stine still has an office in the business. Stine Lumber hosted a 100th birthday celebration at each of its stores on Aug. 4, a private family celebration also took place.
Stine is a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur and has been a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion for many years. He has supported many organizations in the community and in 1989, was awarded Citizen of the Year by the Diocese of Lake Charles.
 Stine Family:
Several members of J.W. Stine’s family accepted a birthday gift and an Nth Degree on behalf of their father and grandfather, presented in celebration of Stine’s100th birthday.  From left are Garrett Stine, Wendy Stine Smith, Jenny Stine Williams, Tim Stine, Dennis Stine and NSU President Dr. Chris Maggio.  The family posed before a portrait of the family patriarch, who attended NSU before enlisting in the Army Air Corps to serve in World War II.

#456 || Ashley Galvan / Contemporary & Ade Obayomi / Contemporary Contemporary | Choreography by Dee Caspary | «Cosmic Love» by Florence and the Machine | SYTYCD USA Season 7 (2010) | Top 9 Week Top 500 List | Intra-Seasonal Placement: #8 • US7 | Direct Link
When it comes to dances about classical statues coming to life most people will probably think of Melanie and Marko's Contemporary from US8, but for me this very first routine which Dee Caspary produced for the show exemplifies it for me even more. The dramatic shapes Ashley and Ade form with their bodies which could very well just work as stand-alone freeze frames morph into each other in the most beautiful ways. The angular lines (the walk at 0:55) and circular, wavy movements looks so carefully crafted that it simply makes me speechless. The sequence leading up to the ending still is one of the most memorable moments in SYTYCD history for me.
