Computer says yes, the court says no
What is wrong with the computer saying yes? A lot, says the court. In deference to its ruling, Britain will now put an end to the computer-says-yes program. It was controversial as it auto-approves requests from renters to take away hundreds of pounds from their tenants’ universal credit benefits, without their consent. As unilateral deductions by landlords are injurious to personal finances of…

On this day, 11 June 1943, Karl Gorath, a 20-year-old gay German nurse, was deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. He was first arrested for homosexuality after being denounced by a jealous lover in 1939, and given a prison sentence. After his release he was sent to the Neuengamme concentration camp, where he was made to wear a pink triangle denoting LGBT+ prisoners. Working in the camp's health department, with some comrades he attempted to smuggle food to Russian prisoners, who were being starved to death. Their plan was discovered by the Nazis, who then sentenced Gorath to transportation to Auschwitz as a criminal and political prisoner, to be denoted with a red triangle. Despite contracting dysentery, he managed to survive the war and was released in 1945. But within a few months he was arrested again by West German authorities, who had kept the homophobic Nazi laws intact. His case was overseen by the same judge, who greeted him with the words "You are already here again!" and gave him the maximum sentence of five years. His lawyer requested that his time served in the concentration camps be counted as part of this, but his request was denied. After his release, because of his convictions he was unable to get a job for a decade. And when the time came to draw his pension, his years interned in concentration camps were deducted from his allowance, as were his unemployment payments. He died in 2003, having never received compensation for his treatment, unlike some other Holocaust survivors. He told his story in a 2000 documentary, "Paragraph 175", named after the relevant section of the penal code. How to move to the UK from Dubai?
Are you looking to move to the UK? There could be many reasons like a new job opportunity, business expansion, a client’s project, or anything else. No matter what’s the real reason behind it, the UK is always a hot favourite destination for professionals and businesses striving to do big in their lives.
If you are planning to move to the UK for an underlying reason, here are the steps you should take to ensure a successful migration. And most importantly, choose from the best UK immigration lawyers in Dubai.
Migration Process
If you don't have a visa, you can't live and work in the UK. To enter the nation, you either need a visa or an EU passport. There is a simple online form on the UK government website that will let you know what kind of visa you require.
A visa is required for immigrants in order to live and work in the UK. You can submit an application at visa4uk.fco.gov.uk or consult one of the UK immigration consultants in UAE, but expect to wait at least a few months for a response.
Get A Bank Account
You need to organize your bank account as soon as feasible if you intend to immigrate to the UK. It can be unexpected and a little too demanding. The quantity of identification that banks require makes applying for a job there challenging. You might not have documentation like lease agreements or utility bills when you first move in. Even with these documents, the bank might only provide you with a simple bank account.
Obtain an NI Number
A National Insurance (NI) number is a special personal number that has been assigned to you and is used to identify you to the Department of Work and Pensions and HM Revenue & Customs. Without it, you are unable to work in the UK without paying "emergency tax."
This guarantees that the government will track any payments to which you are eligible. It will go toward the UK state pension and social security programs. It will take around six weeks to coordinate everything. For taxes purposes, you might need to provide yours to your employer's accounts department, and payments will be deducted from each payment you receive.
Many persons who are employed but do not yet have a National Insurance number will be subject to emergency taxation at a substantially higher rate. It makes sense to get your number as soon as possible in order to avoid this. Unfortunately, doing it yourself may be time-consuming and stressful and can sometimes take months.
According to one of the UK immigration consultants in UAE, “You must demonstrate that you have at least £1,600 in your own bank account in order to submit a Tier 5 - Youth Mobility application.” If you are applying for a Tier 1 visa from outside the UK, you must, nevertheless, demonstrate savings of at least £2,800. To demonstrate that this sum has been in your bank account for at least three months, you must submit original bank statements or a letter from your bank. The evidence must be dated no more than seven days before your application is submitted if you are an international applicant.

Hard Work is their Homework: Struggles and Hurdles of a Teacher
Indeed, being a teacher or a professor is a hard task and job to do. Especially that they're the instruments for all of us in our learning and education process. From being a toddler up until we grow as an adult, they are there to guide us in our career and life track all the time. It is challenging especially with our system here in the Philippines, it is tough for them. Personally, I witness every single hardship that they experience, especially my mother who also belongs to that profession.
My mom has been a teacher for almost 30 years now here in Cavite. She admitted to me that while she enjoyed teaching students, the salary doesn’t fit our expenses enough. These challenges along with the workload that they do every day, it is tough to surpass. My mother would go to class in the afternoon from 12 to 6 PM. She focuses on the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) subject, and the exhaustion gets to her due to the heat of the classroom
Even with her exhaustion after teaching school, she comes home to a load of paperworks such as lesson plans, activity sheets, and reports. Sometimes, she wakes up at midnight or even early in the morning before going to work just to finish the work she must accomplish. I am lucky as she still has time for our family even with her busy schedule. Despite a lot of things that she is doing, her monthly pay is approximately P29,000 which does not include some deductions such as government pensions. This despite the low salary rate, is a sad truth for all Filipino workers, especially teachers.
I hope that the Department of Education, as well as the government give teachers the right benefits and compensation for their hard work. The government should raise their pay, to manage or lessen their workload, especially the time they render in even after class hours. For me, even it is hard for them, I'm loudly proud with my mother as she is an indeed a hero for the students and also for us her family, which every one of us must salute and praise our "second parents" in school for their courage, patience, and love for their profession which is teaching to every children for their better future.

Why Outsource Your Payroll
Tumblr media
Payroll outsourcing involves using an external service provider to handle all the administrative and legal aspects of paying your employees’ salaries accurately and on time.
Effectively managing payroll is a critical business activity. Errors can result in a significant impact on employees, whether in financial hardship or demotivation. Employees can lose trust and disengage from their work, and potentially you may even lose your employees if you are unable to guarantee accurate and timely salary payments.
Payroll processing is also one of the most challenging and time-consuming functions for HR to handle. It requires specialized staff who administer the role's financial aspects and keep up to date with appropriate rules and regulations. The in-depth knowledge required to handle payroll processing effectively means that any disruption in staffing due to illness or loss of expertise can significantly impact on the organization.
Companies are increasingly moving to outsource payroll services to enable them to move away from this type of repetitive administration, reduce dependency on specialized skill sets, and focus limited resources on more strategic and value-add engagement activities with employees and business leaders.
Core reasons why companies are choosing to outsource payroll processing include:
cost reduction through not needing to employ specialized in-house resources to manage what can be a complicated process
greater efficiency and accuracy of processing with a specialist service provider
ensuring worry-free compliance with legal requirements
freeing HR resources to focus on engagement activities and those functions that require more significant employee interactions
Let’s look at these reasons in more detail:
1.    Cost reduction
While large organizations can afford to run payroll departments, this is not a viable expense to bear for small and medium-sized companies.
Preparing and running payroll cycles takes significantly more time, and attention to detail, than many people realize.
Time is required to calculate employee hours, deductions, paid time off, and sick leave, and then there is the printing, signing and distributing pay checks and generation of payroll reports. Add the time it takes for your resources to keep up to date with the latest laws and regulations, and the time taken to effectively and efficiently manage your payroll becomes significant.
If you multiply the hours spent by your internal resources’ salary cost and compare with the cost of outsourcing, you can begin to appreciate how much saving you can make.
2.    Greater efficiency and accuracy
Accurately handling payroll is essential. The more the size of your workforce increases, the more time-consuming and complicated payroll can become.
Keeping track of benefit deductions, leavers and joiners, paid leave, pensions and any other individual deductions such as for loans, advance payments or bonds is complex. It is easy for mistakes to happen, especially when the process may not be fully automated.
When large amounts of data are manually input, it is time-consuming to check regularly, and human error is bound to occur at some point in the process. With a payroll service, output speed and quality also don’t vary because of leave breaks or illness.
Outsource payroll companies are highly automated and have specialized resources that can quickly respond to changes in processing, laws or requirements for new payment services that you may have.
Once payroll is being taken care of by your service provider, you usually only need to check in once a month to approve time and authorize payment.
Another issue that can cause friction in the workplace is a breakdown in data security and leaking of employee salary details. With an outsource payroll provider confidentiality is protected.
3.   Worry-free compliance with laws and regulations
Payroll mistakes may damage your relationship with your employees, the image of your company, and your relationship with governing agencies.
Laws and regulations frequently change, and there are often complexities in determining when a particular rule may impact specific employees and when and how to implement it.
Professional payroll service providers must stay current with rules and regulations and have resources dedicated to reviewing all the changes that could affect your payroll, ensuring that you remain in compliance. An outsource payroll servicing provider is less likely to make a serious error than your internal payroll resources.
In the UAE, outsource service providers use the Wages Protection System (WPS) – an electronic salary transfer system created by the UAE Central Bank, allowing organizations to pay salaries through agents approved by the Central Bank of the UAE, including financial institutions, banks, and money exchanges.
The Wages Protection System allows the Ministry of Labour to record salary payments to guarantee timely and full payment.
4.    Freeing HR resources for more impactful value-add activities
By outsourcing payroll, HR teams can increase the time they spend on the value-added employee-related activities that impact the organization's bottom line, such as performance management, talent management and learning and development.
Automating routine administrative tasks also enables them to introduce new initiatives to improve the overall employee experience and support business success.
Working on more strategic tasks benefits employees and management and makes the role more satisfying and rewarding for the HR employees.
More businesses have already outsourced their payroll services or are actively considering doing so soon.
If you are considering outsourcing your payroll, these are some of the questions you should ask:
What are the services offered?
Do they use the WPS salary transfer system?
How do they secure employee and payroll data?
How many customers do they have?
How long have they been handling payroll services?
What rates do they charge per employee?
Our HRBluSky platform provides you with an unlimited number of reimbursement components to meet your organization's needs.
Payroll processing seamlessly integrates across other modules and with external service providers for salary processing using the WPS electronic salary transfer system.
HRBluSky has inbuilt UAE labor law features and includes employee recruitment, visa, insurance and end of service benefits costs. These are all included in the system, enabling you to track hidden employee costs and support more accurate forecasting for your HR budget.

Bahaa Abdel Hussein heads the list of “big corrupt people”... More than 6 trillion dinars were stolen from the money of retirees
Tumblr media
The head of the Qi Card company, Bahaa Abdul Hussein, was able to reserve a special place for himself on the list of major corrupt people, after he committed the second largest theft that occurred in the history of Iraq, six trillion dinars were stolen from the state treasury, which is money equivalent to the theft of the century, and he was overthrown while trying to escape outside. Iraq two years ago.
One News had previously obtained a document revealing massive financial corruption by the director of Key Card, Bahaa Abdel Hussein, and the convicted Ahmed Abdel Jalil, former head of the General Retirement Authority.
The document shows that what was obtained by the Diwani Order Committee No. Twenty-nine, headed by Lieutenant General Ahmed Abu Ragheef, during the investigations with the convicts, confirms the existence of a public theft of public funds carried out by the Qi Card company, and the theft included the salaries of state employees and the segment of retirees, and the total total of the amounts required to be recovered amounted to, The company has six trillion four hundred and thirty-three billion dinars.
In the latest details of the case, the Presidency of the Baghdad Federal Court of Appeal - the Presidency of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a discriminatory decision regarding those convicted of corruption. Sources stated that the reason for this decision was to postpone their fate determination to this court to conduct their trial in a non-summary case for the purpose of recording the legal representative of the Central Bank and the legal representative. To the Retirement Department, regarding Enjaz Al-Saadi and Abdul-Hussein Company, which is not licensed by the bank and is not subject to its supervision, and there is a decision not to deal with it.
The sources confirm that those convicted of corruption, Al-Saadi and Abdul-Hussein, through this suspicious, unlicensed company, and without legal basis, worked within the pension for the purpose of obtaining deductions from the salaries and advances of retirees, deducting the amounts into the account of the suspicious Enjaz Company, and obtaining billions of dinars without right.
I learned that the fictitious Enjaz company is run by a person named “Ammar Abdel-Jabbar Fattah Al-Jaf,” and his movable and immovable assets were seized along with his family, due to his involvement in this case, in addition to the Iraqi Electronic Payment System Company, and the person called Samer Abdel-Muttalib Al-Sukuti.

ADVICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES
1. Build a home earlier. Be it rural home or urban home. Building a house at 50 is not an achievement. Don't get used to government houses. This comfort is so dangerous. Let all your family have good time in your house.
2. Go home. Don't stick at work all the year. You are not the pillar of your department. If you drop dead today, you will be replaced immediately and operations will continue. Make your family a priority.
3. Don't chase promotions. Master your skills and be excellent at what you do. If they want to promote you, that's fine if they don't, stay positive to your personal.
development.
4. Avoid office or work gossip. Avoid things that tarnish your name or reputation. Don't join the bandwagon that backbites your bosses and colleagues. Stay away from negative gatherings that have only people as their agenda.
5. Don't ever compete with your bosses. You will burn your fingers. Don't compete with your colleagues, you will fry your brain.
6. Ensure you have a side business. Your salary will not sustain your needs in the long run.
7. Save some money. Let it be deducted automatically from your payslip.
8. Borrow a loan to invest in a business or to change a situation not to buy luxury. Buy luxury from your profit.
9. Keep your life, marriage and family private. Let them stay away from your work. This is very important.
10. Be loyal to yourself and believe in your work. Hanging around your boss will alienate you from your colleagues and your boss may finally dump you when he leaves.
11. Retire early. The best way to plan for your exit was when you received the employment letter. The other best time is today. By 40 to 50 be out.
12. Join work welfare and be an active member always. It will help you a lot when any eventuality occurs.
13.Take leave days utilize them by developing yr future home or projects..usually what you do during yr leave days is a reflection of how you'll live after retirement..If it means you spend it all holding a remote control watching series on Zee world, expect nothing different after retirement.
14. Start a project whilst still serving or working. Let your project run whilst at work and if it doesn't do well, start another one till it's running viably. When your project is viably running then retire to manage your business. Most people or pensioners fail in life because they retire to start a project instead of retiring to run a project.
15. Pension money is not for starting a project or buy a stand or build a house but it's money for your upkeep or to maintain yourself in good health. Pension money is not for paying school fees or marrying a young wife but to look after yourself.
16. Always remember, when you retire never be a case study for living a miserable life after retirement but be a role model for colleagues to think of retiring too.
17. Don't retire just because you are finished or you are now a burden to the company and just wait for your day to die. Retire young or whilst energetic to enjoy waking up for a cup of coffee, enjoy the sun, receive money from your business, visit nice place that you missed and spend good time with family. Those who retire late, spend about 95% of their time at work than with their family and that's why they see it difficult to spend time with their family when they retire but end looking for another job till they die. If they don't get another job, they die early.
18. Retire at your house than at government accommodation so that when you retire you can easily fit into the society that raised you. It's not easy to adjust to live in a location after spending more years at company house or at government house.
19. Never let your employment benefits make you forget about your retirement. Employment benefits are just meant to make you relax, get finished whilst time is moving. Remember when you retire no one will call you boss if you don't have a viable business.
20. Don't hate to retire because one day you will retire either voluntarily or involuntarily.
Hope this will help you look at life positively.

If they want to promote you, that's fine if they don't, stay positive to your personal development.
13. Take leave days utilize them by developing yr future home or projects..usually what you do during yr leave days is a reflection of how you'll live after retirement..If it means you spend it all holding a remote control watching series on Zee world, expect nothing different after retirement.

What Makes Payroll Management So Crucial For a Business?
A crucial component of every firm is payroll management since it upholds legal requirements and helps to increase employee engagement. When computing payroll, the payroll manager must examine a number of factors. These include confirming the pay and hourly rates of employees and looking into any extra hours put in. They could also have to submit applications for paid time off for holidays, sick leave, and vacation.
They must also take into account any necessary deductions, such as a tax on earnings and superannuation, as well as any voluntary deductions that employees may have chosen, such as health insurance.
Payroll Administration – Understanding in Detail and What Is It?
Employers receive their employee's wages and salaries through payroll administration. It includes a wide range of duties, such as:
Putting in place payroll policies specifying compensation packages and components,
Integrating new staff into the payroll system and deleting departing employees,
Submitting reports,
Collecting inputs, such as the number of hours employed,
Calculating,
Contributions,
Calculating and confirming,
Deductions, such as pensions,
Tax obligations and payments to workers,
Operating payroll software and dispensing pays-tubs.
People will not report to work if they are not paid. However, managing the realities of paying your whole workforce appropriately and on time may be quite challenging. The timely payment of employees is ensured by payroll management software. Additionally, employees may view payslips, request leave, and update their personal information using any device, and the information will sync in real-time. All of which raises employee contentment.
