For High-traffic Website, a Dedicated Servers USA Service is the Best Solution
Dedicated Servers USA is a type of web hosting that provides you with a single physical server for your website. This means that you do not have to share resources with other websites, which can give you a significant performance boost.
For high-traffic websites, dedicated servers can be a great way to ensure that your website can handle the load. Here are some of the benefits of dedicated servers usa for high-traffic websites:

What's the latest news in the WoXiverse?
The biggest piece of news is probably that two of the English WoP servers are merging into one. The UK server will be merged into the EU server, with all accounts automatically transferred. It shouldn't come as a huge surprise to anyone that having 3 servers in the same language might not be the best idea, especially not as the number of users overall is decreasing and both the UK and EU server has struggled in the last year. It makes sense to combine them into one, right?
But merging two sites is tricky, and what's even trickier is merging two communities. You can do everything right and it will still be a mess with losses and conflicts that need to be solved, not to mention the practical aspects. So far, there seems to be plenty that could've been done better.
WoP UK isn't the only site that is closing (although it's technically just moving). World of Middle Earth is facing their final days as well, and they might not be the only ones. Other smaller sites are also under pressure to magically increase their numbers or they'll be closed down too, which basically means that they will put in the work and do everything in their power and it still won't be enough so the site will close either way. Increasing user numbers and activity is a long-term project that requires resources and investments, and without the resources and investments you're doomed to fail. I've been there, it sucks and it only makes people give up on WoX as a whole.
Meanwhile, the number of mugwumps is decreasing too. Is that a problem? Maybe, I don't know. But it might be, seeing as mugwumps have a lot of responsibility and as unpaid volunteers they only have so much time and energy to spend on it. Most of them have their own site leader jobs to tend to as well, and then there's IRL commitments to consider. If they are stretched too thin and are unable to provide the time and attention their site leaders need, it could become a problem.
All in all, we're about to lose a lot of valuable people across WoX, and with them we will lose their experience, dedication, skills and knowledge. Some will be easily replaced but many won't, and at some point the whole structure will collapse in on itself. We're probably halfway there already.

Team Fortress 2 Finally Goes Offline On PS3 After 15 Years
Tumblr media
Dozens, if not hundreds, of players could be affected.
Team Fortress 2
is one of Valve's most popular games, with the multiplayer FPS regularly among the titles listed in most played charts on Steam, despite not being supported all that much by its developer.
There are also console players of the game, but now it looks like one of these platforms is sadly no longer viable. TF2 arrived on Sony's PlayStation 3 as part of a package. And what a package it was. This would be The Orange Box, a compilation that included Half-Life 2, expansions for such, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. But now, 15 years after releasing on PS3, the servers for TF2 have gone offline.
The Orange Box for the PS3 was not done by Valve, in contrast to the the Xbox 360 version, with development handled by EA UK. The PS3 Orange Box received complaints for technical problems at the time, with frame rate issues among the most pervasive, and a subsequent patch made little mention of slow loading times or frame rate issues. While not the best support, it's also some credit that EA kept the servers running for 15 years.
Obviously, there will be sadness that the servers have to close down at all, but since lobbies have been pretty ghostly for a number of years it's not all that surprising. Servers for TF2 on the PS3 went offline permanently on March 28, but while the PS3 version is no longer it seems the servers for the Xbox 360 version are still running. EA has a dedicated web page showing all its offline servers, with TF2 being under "Half Life 2 for PlayStation 3".
Over on the TF2 subreddit, a poster decided to honour the closing of the servers. "After 15 years, Team Fortress 2 on the PS3 shuts down for the final time", it was titled and it proved to be a popular post, with many upvotes. "879 players without a game this is so sad gamers", someone commented in the thread. "There are hundreds of us!" came a jokey reply.

TASTING NOTES
I was ridiculously uninspired going in. Did my best. Had the added wrinkle of the roller derby afterparty, so I played to them a bit.
My dreams of reordering my crates were wrecked by my surprise, early this week, that it was indeed Third Space Saturday week.
I had a chill set for 1-2am foundered by a drunk* that broke my concentration. Plus, I ran out of records. I don't have a problem with people coming up and saying something, like the person who came up during the ZZ Top record, and asked what mix it was! And having the Treasure Valley Roller Derby after season party in the Space was a blast! It would have been nice to know that beforehand, so I could have loaded up on some sassy and aggresive women for the mix! I apologize. They were a great crowd. They did their thing, had a good time, and I enjoyed playing to them.
Elusive Panda Buck Dave from the Dedicated Servers dropped by and said hello, so did the Real Rah-Keem.
Jules came up and requested "weird shit," like that Clipping jam that I throw in the regular set. So, I’m envisioning the 1-2 am bonus as a set for those of us who work there.
We turned the volume down, and I threw on some down tempo tracks. It's something I want to explore further.
*That drunk doesn’t know how close he came to getting destroyed by my brother in law Jeff. Seriously. He just kept pushing the nonsense, and it totally broke me. Asking me questions about the Mariners gear, and distracting me with questions about Seattle sports, and saying off the wall things like "93rd and Aurora." without elaborating on it. Jeff stepped in to wing man for me, and endured the nonsense. Like I have done many times for DJ IGA back when he occupied the booth. Jeff knows how to hang without demanding to be entertained by a person AT THEIR JOB WHO IS TRYING TO CONCENTRATE!! Well, whatever. I'm going to have to work hard to overcome things like that. Part of the gig.
Next Third Space is 15 July, 2023. I swear I will have some different jams next time.

The UK and EU merge will probably be a series of post, summarising both the good and the bad that people have shared with me. While there is both good and bad, I think I will start with the bad since it raises some pretty serious concerns that need to addressed sooner rather than later.
PSA/NOTE: don't just share your concerns with me, please share them directly with the site leaders and the mugwumps too if you can! They should be informed of your concerns and feelings in advance of being "outed" online, giving them a chance to change their ways before facing backlash over actions that could simply be due to misunderstandings or lack of awareness. Posting it online is the next step, if nothing happens and more public pressure is needed to get things moving. The Mugwump in charge of WoP EU is Lessa: EU staff should be able to contact her via discord, and non-staff users can send an email to [email protected] which is the generic information email for all WoX sites. With that said, I will share some reported issues that are already somewhat public and/or where it should've been obvious from the start that the action would have negative consequences. _ _ _
Can I just start with saying that I got a few submissions in the range of 1k words? It confirms my theory that there are people who are very concerned about this, and have a lot of complaints and a need to feel heard. Even if it's just a few, we shouldn't dismiss people who are so engaged and emotionally invested in WoP EU that they take the time to semi-professionally formulate their concerns and complaints in a thousand word essay. That takes time and dedication, and the quality of the writing and arguments show that they know and understand what they're talking about.
Quite a few concerns have been raised regarding the UK leaders' approach and attitudes in their new positions. Some EU users have expressed that they feel as if the UK leaders are treating EU as a replacement for UK, forgetting (or ignoring) the fact that EU is the site with priority due to it's wider range of user intake and status as the original WoP server. Some UK material is reasonable to bring in and replace previous content where it makes sense, but where WoP EU already has material and practises that should be respected. EU staff are reportedly concerned about the lack of respect for the site's pre-existing content and practises, with one Anon sharing allegations of the UK leaders making drastic changes in multiple areas that EU team leaders are in charge of, such as the library, without informing the team leaders in advance and therefore excluding them from decisions that should've been their decisions to make.
While site leaders are above team leaders in rank and should have the last say in major decisions, it is the team leaders' job and right to run and manage their designated areas as they see fit. They've been given authority to do what they (based on their experience and knowledge) believe works best, with the general agreement that major changes go through the site leaders too before implementing them. Assuming that's what EU team leaders are used to, having a new site leader step in and make decisions over their area of responsibility without their input must be infuriating and frankly insulting. That is the worst mistake a new site leader can make, and it seems that the UK site leaders have done just that.
There are more concerns that have been reported by anons that I will get to in future posts, but I also need to point out that not all of the anon submissions are negative: many have agreed that the merge is a good thing, many have praised the new site leaders for their hard work and many have shown their support for the merge in general.
