Morte a Venezia (1971) Luchino Visconti

“In books we never find anything but ourselves. Strangely enough, that always gives us great pleasure, and we say the author is a genius.” ― Thomas Mann

it's lowkey a tragedy that thomas mann isn't as discussed online as other classic authors like dostoevsky or sumn because I can only be insane about him with a few friends and my lit teacher but at the same time it's a great thing because it spares me from reading so many bad takes
