Dead Draw

dead draw /ded•drô/ noun • the position in which no player has any chance of winning. - These people have known each other forever. Some were friends that turned into rivals, others rivals that turned into friends. And then there's Simon and Wilhelm, who hate each other (not really) and seem to be afterthoughts at this tournament.

Some of them were friends who had soured into rivals, or rivals who softened into friends. Some of them shared coaches or titles, or competed over them just the same as if those things were the King on the board. Friends. Teammates. Childhood buddies. Rivals. Everything except lovers, frankly, but he wasn’t about to rule that out just yet.
