🐾 Some time ago, I watched the Netflix adaptation of "Watership Down" and I fell in love with it. Shortly after, I bought the book and read it and I fell in love with the world and those rabbits. The emotions in that book are intense, and for someone like me, I really felt like I was there, so this song was inspired by the feelings and emotions I felt when reading the book.
🐾 Originally titled "The Down", the initial inspiration for this song came from wondering what it must have felt like for those rabbits to happen upon Watership Down after all of the troubles they had gone through up to that point. This song has been in production for some time because I really wanted to try and capture the feelings I had when reading that part. Honestly, this didn't turn out how I had wanted it to, but in an effort to get it finished quickly, I made a short, sweet banger song that I decided would work perfectly for short-form media such as TikTok, Instagram Stories, and Facebook Reels.

🐾 Mario day is coming up on March 10 (Mar10). I wanted to see how many of my unfinished Mario remixes I could push by then. Turns out, the answer was only one. There was supposed to be a video for this song as well but my computer crashes every fucking second. Two separate times when I tried loading 2 different effects in the video editor, and then everytime I tried exporting the completed video without those effects. But none of you care, I know. Just saying there's no video and because of this I'm not waiting to release this song on the day.
🐾 Personally, I have never played any of the Super Mario Land games, yet I've found myself aware of the songs from both games and, while I strongly believe the music DOES NOT fit the games whatsoever, they are incredibly enjoyable on their own. Pretty much all of the main songs from the first game are nice, and I only know one from the second one.

🐾 Watch the audio visualizer here: https://youtu.be/bZj0ChYN0xA 🐾 Purchase this song here: https://daymusik.bandcamp.com/track/we-wish-you-a-merry-christmas ▶ or whatever holiday you celebrate. Honestly, times have been tough all around for many people. I just want everyone to be happy, during the holidays and every other day of the year! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ óÓÒò 🐾 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I'm going to try to keep this description short (not that anyone really reads these), but I feel there are some choices I made in this song that require some explanation. First and foremost: the bells at the beginning. I don't know where it was, anymore, nor which version of this song I heard, but last year around this time (surprise, surprise), I heard a cover of this song on the radio that had this similar melodic line. It threw me off so hard because, as I'm sure you hear as well, it sounded off. But, sure enough, it ended up blending well with the instruments that entered later and made for a unique version of that song. Here, I tried doing it, but I can neither confirm nor deny if I am satisfied with how it turned out. 🐾 Secondly, it's about this song in general. Did you know this song and all of its verses were meant to be a satirical statement on the aggressive disposition of most people during the holidays? "Here's my holiday spirit, now reward me for being merry!" Essentially. In researching the full lyrics to this song to record it, I learned that and that gave me a new idea for how I wanted to take this song. Oh, yes, by the way, if you're reading this and you aren't sure if you should listen to the song all the way through, I do start singing near the end. The idea was to start off with the usual verse, lull you into a false sense of familiarity, then sike you out by switching to the rest of the lyrics, really emphasizing the aggression behind those verses. This also includes my first efficient use of distortion on vocals. I think I might have tried to use it in the past to mask my horrible voice, but this time it was added for effect! óÓÒò Lyrics: We wish you a merry Christmas We wish you a merry Christmas We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year We wish you a merry Christmas We wish you a merry Christmas We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year Now, bring us some figgy pudding So, bring us some figgy pudding Please, bring us some figgy pudding And bring it out here We won't go until we get some We won't go until we get some We won't go until we get some So bring it right here For we all love our figgy pudding For we all love our figgy pudding For we all love our figgy pudding It's all in good cheer Good tidings we bring to you and your kin Good tidings for Christmas and a happy new year Good tidings we bring to you and your kin Good tidings for Christmas and a happy new year Good tidings we bring to you and your kin Good tidings for Christmas and a happy new year Good tidings we bring to you and your kin Good tidings for Christmas and a happy new year ▶ Bandcamp 🐾 https://daymusik.bandcamp.com ▶ MySpace 🐾 https://myspace.com/daymusik197 ▶ Twitter 🐾 https://www.twitter.com/daymusik/ ▶ everywhere else 🐾 https://linktr.ee/Daymusik

🐾 Watch the audio visualizer here: https://youtu.be/rvfjB1SiTmk 🐾 Purchase this song here: https://daymusik.bandcamp.com/track/winter-wonderland ▶ I've always wanted to cover this song. Careful what you wish for, they say, because working on this project may have just made me despise this song now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ óÓÒò 🐾 From start to finish, this song was painful. Don't get me wrong, aside from THIS version of it, I might still enjoy listening to this song. The biggest reason why I like this song so much is because of the unique chord progressions. The first two phrases are pretty simple but still appealing to the ear. Once the song pulls you in, however, it tries to keep you in its hypnotic grasp by switching up the key on the third phrase, not just once, but twice! And it's very interesting how it does it as well! Simply put, the melody resides on the fifth note of the scale that it's in. When you sing the last couple of lines, "to face unafraid, the plans that we made, walking in a winter wonderland", cleverly, you jump up to the seventh note and walk down the scale all the way down to the tonic note, or first not. Why is this important? Well, for the third phrase, it isn't just a random key change. The key changes to that of the third note of the original scale -- it doesn't stay in the original key and shift up to the third, it's now completely in a different key. Then it does it again jumping up to the fifth note of the original scale. Once this phrase ends, it ends on the root note of this scale... which was the fifth note of the original scale... meaning that, for the fourth phrase, it wraps around perfectly to being the melodic line residing on the fifth note of the original scale! It's ingenious and I love it! Trying to make it sound interesting in anything other than jazz, however, was a challenge. I think it turned out decently, however. I usually try to do research for remixes and covers (mostly to make sure I don't accidentally make something too similar to someone else's, but also) as a way of absorbing inspiration for my own version. Personally, I couldn't find a decent unique version of this song that I thought would help me. A majority of the songs are in jazz or blues or whatever you would expect them to be. I found one version that was kinda different, but it ruined that exquisite chord progression I mentioned and played straight eights, removing the swing. I decided to make it more challenging for myself and left the swing in. The only other versions were people presumably having the same problem of trying to make it sound unique and settled upon making their versions a mashup with some other song. 🐾 Now, that was just one problem. Guys. Please, make sure you're clicking my links, buying my music on Bandcamp, streaming my music on streaming services -- if you don't know, down in my LinkTree link, you can find [most] of the music streaming services my music is available on. FL Studio is amazing; I don't think I will ever change programs. Their lifetime free updates are great... but, with each update, with each improvement to their program, my computer seems to be able to run it less and less. This song took SOO... LONG... to make. WAY too long to make. I don't know how to over-emphasize this to you all enough, something about this song would cause my computer to freeze. Not just FL Studio, but it would freeze my entire computer, mouse and all. I am NOT lying to you, I am not over-exaggerating -- every 2 to 5 minutes of working on this song, the program and/or my computer would freeze for anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds, SOMETIMES MORE! It was so painful to try to do anything because I would listen to a piece of the song and it would be fine, then I see something I need to fix and I try to fix it and it would freeze. Sometimes it would freeze while I'm doing something, sometimes when I'm not doing anything at all! (In the event someone is reading this thinking they can help me, know that I also thought it was every time the program autosaved, so I turned off autosaving and that did nothing for the problem.) I also learned a cool new bug that would happen to me when FL Studio froze while I WAS in the middle of doing something. If I was clicking something, like an automation node or whatever, and it freezes, my mouse is suddenly locked in that position... of editing that whatever it was I was changing. So whatever minuscule, fine-tuning I was trying to do is now gone because I was trying to find where my mouse went and started shaking my mouse only to find that, even though I'm not holding down the mouse button anymore, I'm still editing the thing and now the edit is messed up. *sigh* I almost cried a few times. 🐾 Okay, rant/vent over. This description has gotten way to long. If you're skimming through the description, this paragraph is interesting, I promise. The lyrics. Yes, I tried to come up with my own verses. I recall that the term "Eskimo" isn't as acceptable as it was when this song was created. Most modern renditions of this song simply repeat the original lines again. I thought about doing that, but I wanted to change it up. Honestly, I was going to sing the original lines again if I couldn't think of any words because I'm not any good at writing lyrics... as you can clearly see. I came up with some decent lyrics that I was okay with -- mostly the last phrase, wrapping the narrative back to the line "walking in a winter wonderland". I tried to modernize it as well. I-, eh, whatever. óÓÒò Lyrics: Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In the lane, the snow is glistening. A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight, walking in a winter wonderland. Gone away, is the bluebird. Here to stay, is [a] new bird, who sings a love song as we go along walking in a winter wonderland. In the meadow, we can build a snowman, and pretend that he is Parson Brown. He'll say, "Are you married?" We'll say, "No, man. But, you can do the job when you're in town." Later on, we'll conspire as we dream by the fire, to face unafraid the plans that we made. walking in a winter wonderland. Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In the lane, the snow is glistening. A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight, walking in a winter wonderland. Gone away, is the bluebird. Here to stay, is [a] new bird, who sings a love song as we go along walking in a winter wonderland. In the meadow, we can build a snowman and pretend that he is Parson Brown. He'll say, "Are you married?" We'll say, "No, man. But, you can do the job when you're in town." Later on, we'll conspire as we dream by the fire, to face unafraid the plans that we made. walking in a winter wonderland. Walking in a winter wonderland Walking in a winter wonderland. In the meadow, we can play in the snow and we'll have a thrilling snowball fight. We'll watch as the snow continue to blow and watch while everywhere gets covered white. Later on, we'll watch TV while we can't help getting sleepy. Reminisce on the way we spent the whole day walking in a winter wonderland. Walking in a winter wonderland. I've returned with another cover of this song, and this time -- wait, hang on a second... *checks my YouTube channel*. Oh. It would appear as though I didn't actually make a video for my last cover of this song, or if I did, it isn't up anymore. I thought I did, honestly. Huh. Well, maybe that just goes to show how diffident I was about sharing that version of the song. It is apparently available on my Bandcamp and Soundcloud, so if you followed me there, you would have heard it. This version, however, involves so much confidence in my singing that, if you listen closely, you can hear me clipping my microphone because I've never sung loud enough to think I'd need to account for that! LOL But for real, though. I learned a little bit after the first take about singing better. I still have a long way to go, but I wanted to show off what I was really capable of by remaking this cover and really giving it my all. My favorite part, however, is the added 8th vocal that enters at the end. I wanted to add an extra, flashy harmony part and record that vocal without actually using a reference like I usually do. I was listening to the song and it just came to me! And, yes, speaking of an 8th vocal part... 🐾 In case anyone was wondering, each part of this song is sung by me. In total, there are 8 individual vocal parts... technically, I guess. As I mentioned before, I learned a few things, not just about singing, though, but about vocal mixing, as well. I do believe this was my first attempt at incorporating such a technique after learning about it. There are 6 uniquely recorded parts in this song. Two of which have been duplicated and panned to each side to give them a wider effect, making a total of 8 instances of my voice. I wanted to illustrate this endeavor in some way for this video. Personally, I thought about recording myself singing each part -- yet again -- and including the footage of that in the video, but 1) I didn't really want to record myself, 2) I didn't want to sing each part again, and, 3) I don't think I could have figured out how to inject the footage accurately using the video editing method I use (see below, if interested). So, instead, I decided to attempt a similar effect I've seen artists and various other video creators use in their videos or live streams. FL Studio's ZGameEditor Visualizer is nice, but it is pretty limited. I am surprised I was able to remotely accomplish the effect I was going for -- dimming the character's image when the vocal track is silent and illuminating it when sound is processed (the size reacting to the audio effect is nothing new) -- but it didn't turn out how I wanted it and I couldn't find how to make it closer to my desire. Only relavant to video. óÓÒò Lyrics: Con mi burrito sabanero voy camino de Belén Con mi burrito sabanero voy camino de Belén Si me ven, si me ven, voy camino de Belén Si me ven, si me ven, voy camino de Belén El lucerito mañanero, ilumina mi sendero El lucerito mañanero, ilumina mi sendero Si me ven, si me ven, voy camino de Belén Si me ven, si me ven, voy camino de Belén Con mi cuatrico voy cantando, mi burrito va trotando Con mi cuatrico voy cantando, mi burrito va trotando Si me ven, si me ven, voy camino de Belén Si me ven, si me ven, voy camino de Belén Tuqui tuqui tuqui tuqui, tuqui tuqui tuquita Apurate mi burrito que ya vamos a llegar. Also, yes, that does say "part 01" up there. I've more planned. It's just a matter of time 😺

► New Song: "Venture (Album Version)"
Song 5 of 8 from my debut album "I Would Like to Introduce" --> Watch the associated music visualizer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ccWqkch7yM ► You can listen to the album in these places: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/daymusik/i-would-like-to-introduce-2
🐾 Gee! A lot can be said about this song, actually. However, the description was too long for YouTube so I'm going to paraphrase this paragraph: I was messing around with the harpsichord patch in FL Studio's Morphine plugin and ended up playing what you hear here myself without any piano training. There's sheet music of that part if you want it, but I'll have to figure out how to share it with everyone first. 🐾 Huh, well, that paragraph was longer than expected. Well, moving swiftly on, there are a couple of quotes in this song. One quote is by Vance Havner. "The vision must be followed by the venture. It's not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs." I think the title "Venture" came first and then I searched for quotes containing profounded statements about ventures and found this one. I don't know nor remember who Vance Havner is (or if I even spelled it correctly but it's late and I'm too lazy to look it up). The other quote, if you are not aware, is from Shia LaBeouf. It has been a few years now since his motivational video was uploaded and memed. "Just Do It" was a motivational video Shia uploaded onto YouTube and, though motivational, many people took the power behind his declaration of "just do it" and used it as the basis of many, many memes. I, for one, really admired the message being portrayed in it and wanted to include another motivational quote in this song. However, I felt no one would take it seriously if I included the particularly "meme-y" quotes and purposefully left those out, and instead supplemented with portions of his speech that... I felt resonated with me. Honestly, this song means a lot to me. As someone who struggles with inspiration and support for my musical career, I always think back to this song and think it wrong to give up after having made such an evocative stance against it. 🐾 Now, one final point. If anyone is even reading this, I will TRY to make it quick. I am still making these videos with FL Studio's ZGameEditor Visualizer (as you can see at the bottom of this description), and while it's nice to have the ability to sync various effects to specific parts of the music, some basic effects -- like the fading text effect that I called "ghost text" -- end up being much more complicated than they need to be. This video project ended up much more messy than I would have anticipated simply because I wanted to make it look nicer. When the ghost texts appear duing the "Stop. Giving. Up," part, you would think it's, like, a single text layer that I'm fading in and out and scaling, but because there is no such thing as a "simple text layer" (well, there is, but both options are horrible, which is why I started using "HUD Text" instead), the text layers don't have a scale effect, just font size, so I have to process them as their own video output and input them into an image layer (I use "HUD Image") and then scale it that way, and the text layer doesn't actually contain any text in it; the text is stored elsewhere and you access it by changing/automating the "Text Line" effect to correspond with the line the text is on where it is stored, making the speech-follow text effect I use much more intricate because I need to copy and paste each position the text line is in (which is why I gave up after the first quote, because if I don't add it to the text page, I can't have it as a text effect, but then if I decide to add in the specific text (like when he only says "step up the stairs", that's part of the full line and not on its own instances) then it changes the positions of each text line and I have to reposition the automation points individually). Oh... well, so much for a quick section. Just... I hope you enjoy the effort and detail I put into these videos because I sacrifice a lot by not using an actual video editor for these videos just so I can use one WITHIN FL Studio that allows me to sync parameters to individual instruments and sounds in the music.

🐾 Listen, when you see it, you will see JUST HOW MUCH EFFORT I PUT INTO THIS VIDEO and you will understand why I REALLY want you to watch this one's visualizer: https://youtu.be/t7Wh1pJXhOQ 🐾 Purchase this song here: https://daymusik.bandcamp.com/track/spider-dance-daymusik-remix-2022-edit ▶ After years of self-improvement, I have remixed Spider Dance from Undertale for the final time. I am happy with this, and I better be with how LARGE this project became! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ óÓÒò 🐾 Where to begin? Well, the song itself is more or less the same as the last iteration, just MUCH more polished, and more cohesiveness, and this time I actually had an idea of what I was going for. I decided to go for a pseudo-glitch hop style as one would with a remix of a video game soundtrack. Of course, @jacksepticeye is still in this version, or rather his amateur voice-over of Muffet's in-game speech. I decided not to say "featuring Jacksepticeye" this time since this time, I decided to try and "animate" Muffet speaking. He does make an appearance as himself at the end, but that's more of like a cameo/guest appearance rather than a feature. But what do I know? I just didn't want to put him on the face of this song because I want this song to speak for itself, not because Seàn is in it. This song, I will say, has been in development for a few years. The main growl bass instrument that comes in during the drop is one I made myself. I spent SO LONG trying to make a good sound, learning new things, trying different things, until finally, this sound worked well enough. Fun fact about the ritardando into the second drop near the end: I had to shorten the length of that. It still slows down to the same temp (maybe slower, I think), but the ritardando was shortened from, like 12 counts to 8 counts because my computer cannot process ritardandos. Whenever I try playing back the song to listen to it, the whole project lags and stutters IMMENSELY that I had to shorten it, but, of course, that did nothing for me. So that's why it's a fun fact. Because it was pointless. 🐾 Now, onto the video. Hoo boy. In keeping with my previous...whatever of adding simple video editing animations corresponding to the video game sound effects that are happening, I decided to do that again. But, like...different. And, uh...I think I went a little too... hard? Listen, I am typing this at 7 am on 14 January after having started the final editing process of this song at about 5 pm yesterday. I am VERY tired and my words are eluding me. But, long story short, for some reason, I decided to MANUALLY animate Muffet speaking. I'm almost 100% certain there was a much easier way to do that. I'm about 85% certain there is a way that I actually know how to do, but instead, I went manual. These aren't gifs, by the way. I wasn't synchronizing a video to the positions or anything. The last time I made the video for this, I downloaded ALL of the Undertale sprites -- all 6800+ of them -- just to make the video. So I did that again. Each frame isn't in a sprite sheet; they are individual images. I'm not going to go on about how tedious this project has been nor will I, again, expound on how much time and effort I waste on these videos. Instead, I decided to write down some numbers, because, undoubtedly, this is the largest project I have ever made. # of plugins: 174 # of [ZGameEditor Visualizer] layer: 47 # of mixer tracks: 94 # of channels used: 252 (mix of audio, automation, and midi clips) Overall time spent on this project: 67h Video file size: 2.67GB Audio file (wav/mp3) size: 48.8MB/6.59MB óÓÒò ▶ Bandcamp 🐾 https://daymusik.bandcamp.com ▶ MySpace 🐾 https://myspace.com/daymusik197 ▶ Twitter 🐾 https://www.twitter.com/daymusik/ ▶ everywhere else 🐾 https://linktr.ee/Daymusik ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

🐾 Watch the song on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5vYnpaVGYs ▶ I don't know about you, but there's something just incredibly wholesome, heartwarming, and, at this point, nostalgic about the theme song to The Backyardigans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ óÓÒò 🐾 I'm slowly regretting this whole "14 YouTube Push" project that I decided to do. I regret ever having the idea and I regret trying to actually do it at the start of the year instead of waiting for me to actually have all of the songs completed. I'm going to make these descriptions short now because I hate everything. 🐾 I started remixing this song when I started working on the Castaways remix. The popularity of that song reminded me just how much I thoroughly enjoyed the Backyardigans theme song, so I started working on a remix for that as well. As for the video, blah blah blah, I put too much effort into it. My face is reacting to the sub, keys, and vocal chop I came up with. Everyone is synced to the main vocal, except for Uniqua who is synced to her own vocal "chant". I tried to match their height to their actual height. They're also in the positions they're in at the start of the intro. But whatever. No one reads these things. 🐾 The song WAS called "Shake That Saxy Ass" before, or "Shake Your Saxyness" when I was younger (because 'ass'). I still have no clue what to call this song so I settled up this. Because, you know, saxophones use reeds. As I was saying, this song is another one from 11 years ago. Apparently, I had uploaded this one on the same day as "Wanted" as it was uploaded on January 2, 2012. Again, it was very early in my music-making... hobby, so, if you want, the original one can be found here: https://soundcloud.com/daybreakpony.....-your-saxiness and, uh...ignore the comments on that song. 🐾 There really isn't much to say about this song either. This song started out with the short saxophone melody that I thought of then the song expanded from there. Back then, of course, there wasn't much "expanding" going on, but I am MUCH prouder of this version. Also, funnily enough, I cooked up this song in less than 4 hours! I don't know how long the iPod Touch version took for me to create, but for using FL Studio, once again, that's pretty quick for me. How did I do it? Well, back then, I don't think I knew any *FORMULAS* for creating songs, so everything's just kind of random and...cringy, honestly. In order to make this song more pleasing to listen to, I slapped on a i-VI-III-VII chord progression and, instantly, gave it more form. óÓÒò ▶ Bandcamp 🐾 https://daymusik.bandcamp.com ▶ MySpace 🐾 https://myspace.com/daymusik197 ▶ Twitter 🐾 https://www.twitter.com/daymusik/ ▶ everywhere else 🐾 https://linktr.ee/Daymusik
