Was there actually a large praise for another Croods movie? I honestly kept on forgetting that DreamWorks even announced the sequel, let alone had ideas for what the whole movie would contain. The timing of its release wasn’t exactly its best, coming out during the dreaded events of COVD-19, though retrieved a huge gross and more positive feedback.
Set after the first movie, the Croods and their new member, Guy, continue their trek across their new homeland in order to find a new settlement. It’s not long until they become roped up with an advanced family, known as the Bettermans, who are instantly repulsed by their visitors’ appearances and mannerisms. While Eep begins a new friendship with their daughter, the Betterman parents devise a plan to keep Guy for themselves, while leaving the Croods out of the picture.
All-in-all, the storyline wasn’t exactly the best choice for what I would have expected from a caveman trope, as clearly the studio were trying to find any old element we’ve seen before. This may have reeked of Shrek 2’s plot of separating the loved ones for the in-laws’ own benefit, but I could ignore all of that, surprising as such. Not only did I enjoy this film but thought that it was the Croods movie I wanted, especially when the first one was mediocre at best. The storyline had the hokey label, don’t get me wrong, as you’ve seen this in rom-coms, but what I liked more was how this sequel utilised these main characters more. The Bettermans aren’t the villains, but presented as upper-class snobs who desire Guy’s presence since they knew his parents, while their daughter doesn’t fall into their side and starts an honestly-solid friendship with Eep. These managed to give the characters more substance other than have them for the point of being there, involving the family drama between Eep and her friendship between the daughter, Dawn, bringing her for dangerous rides.
This also brought back the same formula that the Hotel Transylvania sequels overused by having Grug not appreciating Guy’s connection with Eep, as he’s afraid they might venture off without them. This retreaded the same path he took of not his worry cloud his judgement, but the sequel took it into the next level by having Grug vent out his frustrations in a relaxing spa with the Betterman father, Phil, where the two form a connection, only to despise each-other afterwards. Grug’s clashing with the Betterman family extend into a chaotic climax with the punch monkeys, where they supply bananas to their gargantuan leader, so the main men are immediately brought as sacrifices. This would involve the women to break them out, bringing the Betterman wife for the team, combining their efforts for a wonderful climax against their foes.
It managed to deliver more laughs than the first movie did surprisingly enough, having the characters interact with their new environment and even making their antagonistic neighbours actually enjoyable and irking at the same time. In what way did the first movie have to make a montage of cringeworthy dialogue, where they made more room for the modernised technology. Are the jokes all bangers? Not particularly. There’s one recurring joke where the son watches a window throughout the duration, which is his only point in the storyline. Though, one bad joke doesn’t overshadow its collection of rather humorous dialogue.
One aspect they definitely brought back was its sensational animation, succeeding in designing this new Betterman environment as deeply inviting. The new ideas they brought back dwelled perfectly with their treehouse setting, making more sense instead of a cavelike setting like the Flintstones. The movie didn’t limit itself entirely to the Betterman sanctuary, branching out to its outer world during the beginning and some parts of the duration, where the characters really needed to have a chaotic moment. While they didn’t have Chris Sanders as the director that time, they still brought back those amazing animal designs, such as the mammoth hogs and wolf spiders. Eventually, while we have the returning punch monkeys that gave Grug a hard time in the first movie, we’re greeted to their hungry skyscraper-sized Spiny Mandrilla, filling out most of the scope.
I’ve seen that the crew gave the children a chance to involve their animal designs in the credits, which Odeon cinemas allowed them to submit their drawings.
One alternation was the pacing of their movements, focusing on the Croods engaging in their new home and enemy-turned friends. They really went out of their way to submit some quick manoeuvres with the main characters, while delivering some different angles that gave another perspective to their reactions and expressions. An enormous example would be both the dinner sequence and the final battle, both excelling these characters’ pacing to the next degree and throwing a great display of colour and mixture of reactions, similar to Lord and Miller’s animation style. I swore that they attempted to replicate the pacing of the dinner argument from Shrek 2 with the Croods and Bettermans.
The characters returned where their previously-reduced roles allowing more time to breathe. Grug returns along with his untrusting doubt of Guy, but like I labelled before, the direction gave him more to do, especially by being the direct cause of the perilous climax. Eep sparks a wholesome and then dangerous connection with the daughter, chaotically claiming that they’re best friends just like that, since the cavegirl never had a friend outside of Guy or her family. With the way she interacts with Hope, even getting the two of them in trouble, it nonetheless sharpens their bond, yet puts her at odds with Guy.
As for Guy, he’s actually a lot more important in this storyline. Remember that sudden emotional backstory back in the tar pits? Of course not since it was so short and barely made a point. Well, in this sequel, they not only show the flashback that traumatised Guy but went around the backstory by having the Bettermans already knowing his parents, giving them more reason to manipulate the young man. It’d make sense why he becomes so enthralled by their advanced style, as he’s done pretty much most of the surviving and work in the first film.
The other family members actually are more involved with the mother engaging with the Betterman wife before fully speaking to her daughter about their situations. All worked besides the brother reduced to a recurring joke.
As for the Bettermans, consisting of Phil, Hope and Dawn, they are the new characters, acting as the passive-aggressive Flanders-type neighbours, who welcome the Croods into their sanctuary in order to get Guy close to the daughter. At times, they give very unsubtle indications that they’d want them to leave, such as Hope giving the Crood mother a parting present, really hoping that her family would just leave. Eventually, Hope drops her prejudice and joins the women in a small army to find their loved ones. Phil acts as the mastermind behind their scheme, hoping to get to know Grug in a desperate attempt to condescend his lifestyle. Both of them have the right balance between entertainingly-aggravating to watch, where you’d want them to suffer the consequences, yet enjoy their moments on-screen with their more savage visitors. Both Leslie Mann and Peter Dinklage helped save these characters from fully falling into the despicable category. With Dawn, voiced by Kelly Marie Tran, she’s honestly the better out of the Bettermans, starting this friendship with Eep and, like her mother, begin experiencing the wild style outside the sanctuary.
Consider me impressed by how this sequel turned out, as I was wondering if they’ll rehash the same adventuring formula as the first one. Sure it repeated some elements and not all the jokes landed, but this was the Croods movie I wanted to experience.
Final Rating: C
7/10

Number.04: Portent -KIZASI-
1
Gai can scarcely believe the young man in front of him is Mamoru. They are now in the Division Train, a section of Mizuha assigned as a temporary landbay, they had to exit without proper preparation. Mamoru makes the proper welcome back to Gai he always planned to, before both start tearing up. Gai's instinct to pick the boy up is naturally impossible now, still struggling to comprehend the fact what has been for him a few days has been a decade for Mamoru, and due to how little they saw each other at the time, he still thinks of Mamoru as 9, Mamoru has the opposite problem, expecting a 30 something, not a man barely older than him. As other GGG staff gather, Gai is naturally known to all, though he only knows some. Gai spots Ikumi, who he bonded with during the journey to the Trinary Star System, and feels similar confusion as he does with Mamoru. He then spots the crying blonde girl next to Ikumi, Akamatsu encourages him to talk to Alouette, who is also glad to see him after so long. Hana merely watches for now.
Tumblr media
2
The Division Train launches launches a number of unmanned probes to monitor Jupiter, aware they could succumb to Triple Zero. They now plan to return to earth, though the damage means the return will be slower, so injured personnel are sent ahead on Miniature Express Boat Fly-D5 via Mirror Catapult, lead by Urchin Prickle, Kamuy is also going ahead, as Yamajii avoided the journey due to his pains, this leaves the Intelligence Operator unmanned. Tamara is also going in the capacity of medic, though Hinoki, her senior, is remaining on the ship as research operator, though first secures Sakura and the Manage Machine in Fly-D5, asking her to tell Keita she's coming home, and Betterman thanks.
The Brave Robos wave Fly-D5 off, Shoryu wondering is Porc-Auto could have gone with them.
Hana could have gone back by Fly-D5, but ultimately chose to stay with Mamoru. Mamoru would eventually regret not asking her reasons further.
3
For those on the Division Train, the month to return was mostly occupied by stories from Gai, who apologises to Akamatsu that his father and half-sister were possessed by Triple Zero, but Akamatsu knows he has his own worries, like Mikoto. Mamoru, Ikumi and Yang are also in this meeting. Ikumi broaches the question of if Leo or Kizuna could have been controlled by Triple Zero, though given their actions and the result, he doesn't believe so, Yang believes he is right, based on current observation. Churyu, like Jupitos before, gained intelligence separate from whatever constraints were put on their systems, and simply obeyed new instincts, in Churyu's case this meant obeying the rule of Triple Zero, that the universe must expand, and when it no longer can, it will contract again. Yang now privately acknowledges Leo's genius, and what he managed to learn even in death. He also expects Triple Zero taking such direct action was provoked by the actions of the 11 Sol Planetary Masters. The suspicion is the rest of Gutsy Galaxy Guard are, like Churyu, acting according to Triple Zero's will, return the universe to Zero. Yang also confirms they detects energy emerging from the wormhole they believe to be the rest of the Gutsy Galaxy Guard. Mamoru asks Gai to serve as Mobile Corps Captain for the coming battles, but is surprised he says no. Gai was the only one who could use the G-Stone when EI-01 appeared. He also points out Mamoru has actually been a Mobile Corps Captain longer than he has, and Mamoru accepts this with encouragement from the others.
The Combined Betterman still floats in a fibrous state behind the Division Train, the 7 Somnium slowly recuperating, Yewya alone conscious, steering them. She suddenly mentally informs Lamia of the Dawn Aura appearing, one of two major threats the Somnium must defeat. The other is the root of evil.
4
It is the beginning of 2017, and the Division Train has finally returned after more than a month, though for those who partook in the Battle of Jupiter, the journey is preferable to that 3 month journey. Gai is emotional to see Orbit Base again, Kanayago is the only Division Ship docked, just as it had been when Gai left, he wishes Mikoto was with him.
There was no noted activity from Triple Zero or the Conqueror King Acolytes during the journey, despite the probability of attack, and a strict exchange of information was maintained. The Division Train finally separates into Mizuha, Wadatsumi and Yamatsumi to dock, and the Branch Order Room transfers directly to the Big Order Room, where the full staff of GGG welcome Gai home, as they crowd him the Brave Robos are also returned ,the sisters bicker a little. Urchin has sensationalised the Brave's return to everyone after returning. Hinoki meets up with Kamuy and Tamara again. As Akamatsu is about to find Sakura, Urchin remembers a VIP is there to see Gai.
Urchin drags Gai and Akamatsu to the Chief's office, Mamoru tagging along. Akamatsu is annoyed someone is using his own office right up until seeing the guest is former Secretary-General Rose Approval.
5
Everyone timidly sits, Rose has always treated Mamoru and Ikumi gentler than she has the Chief's.
Rose first apologises to Gai for GGG being branded traitors after they defied orders to head to the Trinary Star System, and the exile order only officially rescinded 2 years after the boy's return, though Gai knows the banishment was what have them the freedom to act. She also informs them that between herself and Isogai Sakura, current Secretary-General Heart Clover has been convinced of important matters. She also relays the message that Gai is being appointed Gutsy Galaxy Guard Mobile Corps Captain and Acting Chief. Contrary to the understanding of Mamoru and Gai, Gutsy Global Guard is actually a separate organisation to Gutsy Galaxy Guard. All assets and crew members of Gutsy Galaxy Guard were transferred to Gutsy Global Guard on it's inception, Gutsy Galaxy Guard continued to exist as an inactive organisation with only Yaginuma acting as Chief, the Galaxy Guard kept so those coming back have somewhere to return. With Gai's confirmation if the status of everyone else, Taiga has been declared in absentia Chief once more. As Gai is the only current member of Gutsy Galaxy Guard, Gutsy Global Guard will handle all other duties until they have more members. Gai accepts the duty. For the sake of making things less difficult to communicates, they will now be referred to as GGG Green and GGG Blue.
Tumblr media
6
The cooperation of GGG Green and GGG Blue is announced to all GGG Blue personnel, but the matters are not yet being announced to humanity. Tsuguo and Sueo have to be reminded not to discuss Kazuo's fate by Akamatsu, who when changes discussion to question them on a Neuronoid of the Kakuseijin series. Their personal familiarity with #1 and GaiGo means they can tell the unit in the image isn't that. Akamatsu explains the image is of Kakuseijin V2, between #1 and #Z. Akamatsu had made V2 for NEO, after #1 was made for one of it's child groups, but after NEO took possession of the V2 they haven't let Akamatsu touch it. He is asking them because right before they returned to earth, someone stole the V2 from NEO hq by diving. This is odd, as 4 of the known Dual Kinds were on the Division Fleet, and the 5th, Keita, has a solid alibi. So there are 2 unknown Dual Kinds responsible for the theft. He shows them security footage of the theft, but the culprits are not identifiable, but a third beside the Divers is visible, and is identifiable, as Ushiyama Mitsuo, the 3rd brother.
7
Tamara, Alouette, Yamajii and Tsuguo relive Hinoki, Hana, Kamuy and Sueo in the Main Order Room, Tsuguo whispering to his brother to not overly worry about Mitsuo, having seen quickly he was looking into it on duty. They have not been able to contact Mitsuo. Alouette is surprised Hana didn't make conversation, and sees she has accessed Mikoto's medical records from right before the Battle of Jupiter. Hinoki and an unusually tense Kamuy make conversation, and heis about to ask something when an alarm rings out.
8
The two Chiefs order deployment from the Branch Order Room on Wadatsumi, ready inbound to Northern Territory, where the Conqueror King Acolytes' signal has been detected, designated as Z0-Similar. Hana is the only active operator to have been on break, having to act as Operator for GaiGou as Alouette does for PhantomGao Mamoru worrying for her, Ikumi interrupts to ask them to join him to meet some friends after the mission. Knowing the story, Hana worries how Alouette would take it given her crush on Ikumi. In sequence GaiGou, PhantomGao, Getsuryu, Nichiryu, Big Porc-Auto and Shoryu deploy to hunt the source of Z0-Similar. Alouette quietly thinks she isn't bothered at all about Ikumi's good friend of 10 years.
9
Gai doesn't feel like he's been away from earth very long, between the short time for him and Repli-Earth, though as he surveys South Australia, he finds the traces from the Invisible Burst most disconcerting, when he hears through the Limpid Channel, Lamka, and PhantomGao is forced off course, landing by a disused coal plant. Gai exits PhatomGao and approaches who he knows to be Lamia. And so for the first time face to face, Somnium Lamia meets Evoluder Guy. Lamia explains that back in the Battle against the 11 Sol Planetary Masters, he helped them for the sake of the universe's continued existence, Gai owes no favours for that, and Gai finds himself inexplicably irritated by the Somnium. Lamia informs him they are fated to battle, and Gai realises deep down he has known this ever since he first heard his will. Despite the importance of fighting Triple Zero and saving his allies, Gai feels Lamia is his natural enemy. Battle commences, Lamia uses Rubrum, Gai dodges and Equips, Lamia forms a sword out of Rubrum and swings, Gai countering with the Will Knife. The two are deadlocked, but Gai recalls he has to face the Conqueror King Acolytes, asking if Lamia intends to stop him, retorting to his claim all will perish, Lamia declares Gai his most immediate threat, the Root of Evil.
9 (Cont)
Tumblr media
Gai comprehends that the Somniums consider his existence as a sin. Lamia uses Viride, Gainagain dodges. Lamia helped him to save their existence, but considers his return the Doom of humanity. Lamia uses Viride to manipulate the power plant to attack Gai, Gai throws other pieces back, then uses his Evoluder abilities to take control. Despite the natural sense Lamia is his enemy, Gai owes him to true ill will, and knows the Somniums have saved humanity and helped fight the Conqueror King on his return. A last barrage at Lamia is blocked by the appearance of the jellyfish like Betterman Lume, who informs Lamia the time is come, the others already prepared, and he leaves this fight atop her. As soon as they leave, Gai receives communication from Alouette that Mamoru and Ikumi are endangered.
10
Kakuseijin GaiGou flies over Northern Territory, Hana informing them of Gai’s disappearance, but Mamoru opts to keep searching for the Z0-Similar source, and have Shoryu and Porc-Auto head for Gai’s last location.
50km south of Darwin, Nichiryu floats and spots transcontinental express train The Ghan #14, quadrupled in size to 3km, and then Getsuryu reports #16, travelling the opposite direction, is radiating Z0-Similar, and releases it is a Zero Robo.
Yang recognises the entire transcontinental express is contaminated by Triple Zero, and seeks to determine what the goal is, Urchin cautioning Akamatsu it will be helpful to know their goal. The Conqueror King Acolytes do not need the same resources the Zonderians did as long as there is Triple Zero in the universe, all they will need is large inorganic materials. Kaidou has a revelation, taking control of Kakuseijin GaiGo, and mobilises to Uluru, Getsuryu and Nichiryu being sent after, as if a Zero Robo is born of Ayers Rock it would be devastating.
11
The Ghan is closest to Uluru at Alice Springs Station, GaiGo witnesses trains derail and start making the 450km journey, Mamoru is worried about having to fight the Conqueror King Acolytes after losing Galeon, but Ikumi reassures him they can save them, as he saved Pizza and Penchinon before. Yamajii reports from GGG Australia that 11 The Ghan cars were stolen by an unknown entity at dawn, thus there are no passengers, ZR-04 is safe to destroy. The sisters attack the ZR-04s they are following, but Yang warns any train hitting Uluru will bring disaster. Akamatsu orders Final Fusion, and GaoGaiGo forms, and the Dividing Driver Kit Number 03 is immediately sent to it, creating a 5km arresting field that six ZR-04s immediately fall into. Ikumi is determined to stop them all, so as not to threaten his second home, and the way of life of the people living so close to Uluru. Between a Broken Phantom and a Dell Knee, those in the field are destroyed. The remains five ZR-04 are surrounding them, as is the Conqueror King Acolyte controlling them. A squat form of a Cosmo Robo atop a Baribarien, wreathed in an orange aura. Mamoru calls out in shock, but his friend doesn't acknowledge him, simply using System Change, and GGG America’s secret weapon, the Boom Robo, stands before them. Conqueror Acolyte Mic Sounders XIII.
11 (Cont.)
Mamoru calls out to Mic who responds, and already knows how long it has been, Mamoru realises his fears are true.
Mamoru recalls GGG’s simulations in the difference between Conqueror Acolytes and Zero Robos. Yang explained to Akamatsu he believed it was similar to Zonderians and Zonder Robos, only more efficient. The meeting was between Yang, Akamatsu, Urchin, Gai, Mamoru, Ikumi, Hinoki, Tsuguo and Kamuy, and already tense, they then noted G-Stones and J-Jewels do not offer protection from becoming Conqueror Acolytes. At least there was no Zonder Cores this time. The hope is between Ikumi, Mamoru and Gai they can purify the Acolytes, a difficult task as the Acolytes act of their own will, indeed they might need to physically extract Triple Zero from them. As the corruoted Cosmos Robos don’t have AI loaded, they can't test the theories, only rely on the info gleaned from Churyu, and the only way to disperse Triple Zero is to scatter it by destroying it's vessel. All of GGG Green might have to die, even as they are sorrowful for the duty they must fulfill. Mic's words have just confirmed this worst fear.
12
Mic apologises, but aims to create a beautiful ending. Mic immediate calls from Stadio 7 Disc P, probably souped up to stimulate Zero Robos, GGG Blue have already prepared a counter, Break Synthesising the preset Amarei from GaoGaiGo, and launches a Synapse Break from both GaiGo arms, launching Stiffening Liquid, sealing up Mic’s chest cavity and preventing Disc P from playing. Ikumi prepares a Broken Phantom to destroy Stadio 7, only for Tamara to suddenly announce the detection of life signs within Stadio 7. They fear Conqueror Mic has taken a hostage, but the likelihood it is a member of GGG Green willingly supporting him. GaoGaiGo is also surrounded by the 5 Zero Robos, and the other braves are fighting other ZR-04s, and PhantomGao unreachable. There is only 20 minutes befor the Dividing Field closes. A twelfth ZR-04, a rescue helicopter kept by The Ghan’s operators, rams GaoGaiGo, Conqueror Mic seems be treating the ZR-04s as substitutes for his brothers, and forces out Disc P, damaging his tray but it instantly repairs, then pulls out Disc X.
The Protect Wall can't be in used when GakGaiGo is immobilised. Alouette finally reaches Gai, and he rushes to intercept, but PhantomGao is 15 minutes away.
Mamoru asks if Mic is really acting of his own will, he claims he is but stumbles, then calls Giragiran VV and starts using the Solitary Wave.
Sakura senses they are coming.
The Solitary Wave instantly boils the Linker Gel. Betterman Nebula suddenly leaps in the way, telling the being of light it must survive. After only a moment of analysis of the Solitary Wave, it prepares a counter, and uses Psycho Voice. The two attacks clash, and there is a burst of explosive force.
13
Still enroute, Gai uses Fusion into GaoFar, mounting StealthGao III on the back, DrillGao II on the arms, and LinerGao II stop StealthGao III. This has been calculated by Alouette as a way to accelerate faster than by Final Fusion.
North of Port Augusta, Getsuryu struggles against the ZR-04 #16, seemingly disabling it by knocking it down via Protect Protector, but it metamorphosizes, and grabs her. South of Darwin, Nichiryu is similarly trapped, as are Shoryu and Porc-Auto against 3 ZR-04 in South Australia.
Near Uluru, while the Solitary Wave and Psycho Voice had cancelled out, but Triple Zero enhanced energy solitons persist and strike Nebula, but Lume enveloping Nebula purges them. Shishioh Liger had once witnessed Nebula in South America, and been inspired to create the Solitary Wave Riser, enhancing the idea. Unlike Percurio, Nebula is doused in surplus energy that doesn't fade. Yewya tells Lamia she can regenerate, but even is Disc X is calibrated for GaoGaiGo, it is clear who will fall first. Mamoru takes Left Control, and the two initiate Hell and Heaven. The combine J-Jewel and G-Stone energy turn GaoGaiGo silver, and the Zero Robos holding them are thrown off. Yewya hits her limit, and Nebula leaps out of the air. Conqueror King Mic turns his focus on the silver King of Braves, but Disc X turns in reverse, turning the Solitary Wave back on himself. Conqueror Mic and Disc X start fracturing, faster than he regenerates. Betterman Ahriman produces arms from withing Stadio 7, starting to tamper with circuitry through the gaps. Disc X breaks, but Conqueror Mic forces the limbs to break, and Rice flees. Conqueror Mic sets Disc F and produces the Dokadokan, launching a combined Solitary Wave and Gravity Shockwave, producing an image of GaoFighGar wielding the Goldion Hammer, but Mamoru and Ikumi recognise this technique, and GaoGaiGo dodges, causing the attack to instead hit the 7 Zero Robos, Mic mourning his brothers again. Their moment secured, GaoGaiGo grips into Conqueror Mic, aiming to remove the AI and GS-Ride. Mic blocks, and Ikumi moves to thrust in GaiGo’s arms, but Mic uses his second arms to block them too, and they fall into the Dividing Field. Ikumi begins to feel the strain, as Cereb Head takes the load from linker gel degradation sooner, he can no longer maintain Purification mode. Mamoru has to take full control, and struggle against an apologetic Mic. The dividing field will close in 3 minutes, and Mic is prepared to be destroyed if it will take GaoGaiGo. Mamoru refuses to lose any of them.
The 3 Somnium watch from above, and Lamia senses the root of evil approaching. Gai orders his own Final Fusion.
14
GaoFighGar is born with 74 seconds left, landing inside with 61 seconds. GaoGaiGo lifts Conqueror Mic up, so GaoFighGar can drag Mic out. 30 seconds left, GaoGaiGo grabs Stadio 7, barely escaping as the Field closes. Mic has lost his will to fight after being saved. Both Kings of Braves initiate Hell and Heaven, due to Ikumi being weakened, Mamoru is only using the power of the G-Stone. GaoFighGar pulls out Mic’s AI box and GS-Ride, GaoGaiGo pulls what seems to be an orange cocoon from Stadio 7. They conclude this is a Zero Core, and emerging, Gai and Mamoru together use purification, only together can they have this effect on the AI Box and Zero Core. Mic thanks them weakly, as the Zero Core reverts to the form of Stallion White, the model for Mic’s personality. Triple Zero is gone from them. Seeing everything has resolved, the Somnium leave, and Ikumi feels relief too.
15
GGG Blue are aware that they only succeeded thanks to Betterman. Yamajii explains Betterman Turbo saved Getsuryu using Psycho Calm along with Betterman Socius sucking the fragments of the Zero Robo into space. Nichiryu was saved by Betterman Pondus reverse gravity destruction, and Shoryu and Big Porc-Auto were saved by the green Betterman Forte. Gai doesn't share everyone else's mood, still wondering over Lamia's words. Are the Somniums saving humanity, or just using them to stop the Conqueror Acolytes.
Mic's AI and body are sent to GGG America to be placed in cold storage until the situation is sorted. Stallion is taken to Alice Springs General Hospital, Ikumi has to be admitted as well. He won't need to be there long, but there is a bonus for him, as he is visited by the girl who calls him Tenshi, a chestnut haired, tanned woman, who knows his name, but prefers the old nickname, hugging him affectionately to the shock of Mamoru and Hana. Only after being told they are there does Yuka Koala introduce herself to Ikumi’s best friends. After a while, they leave so Ikumi and Yuka can have privacy. Mamoru spots Alouette is there as well, and realises she brought Yuka there. Even if this might be counterintuitive to her own feelings for Ikumi, she felt he would be happy to see her.
(At time of writing, THE COMIC is partway through this episode)

I’m literally only two minutes into the first episode of the Croods: Family Tree series and it really decided to double down hard on the gay vibes between Eep and Dawn, huh. Nice.
(I would also like to point out that the second and third image are just flashback 2D style; the show itself is in the same animation style as the movies!)
