Powerful businessman Russ Duritz is self-absorbed and immersed in his work. But by the magic of the moon, he meets Rusty, a chubby, charming 8-year-old version of himself who can’t believe he could turn out so badly – with no life and no dog. With Rusty’s help, Russ is able to reconcile the person he used to dream of being with the man he’s actually become. Credits: TheMovieDb. Bruce Willis and Spencer Breslin team up to solid effect, in a film that produces amusement and wholesomeness. I find the premise very interesting, it’s a cool concept. While they might not executed to 100% perfection, what’s given is entertaining to see unfold. There are some very sweet scenes, also. Willis is, as you’d expect, the best part of this, but I think Breslin does a grand job too. The latter tended to do these sorta roles a lot, but there’s a reason for that as he played them convincingly. Emily Mortimer (Amy) is als...

FredFilms promises...
Creators first.
I've always believed that we owe you, our fans and now at FredFilms we all take it as gospel. We owe you our best work, of course. But beyond we examine everything about ourselves constantly, to assure ourselves and you that we’re trying to stay on the right track. To that end, whatever work I’ve done –whether it be in the music business, the network television business, and certainly, cartoons– has been done with making public promises that try and assure you that we’ll deliver.
To that end, I thought it would be good to print out a new set of our limited edition postcards to make the FredFilms promises completely clear. This one’s the first.
As throughout my entire cartoon career, and now at FredFilms, it’s been my mission to let exceptional creators do their thing. We’re not in the business of micro-managing our creative talent. Instead, we seek out and nurture creators who have a story they need to tell and give them as much room as possible to tell it.. We go to festivals, art schools, comedy clubs, and explore the dustiest corners of the internet to find folks we know we have to work with.
We believe there are new stories to be told.
We promise.
.....
It might seem extreme, but I thought it might be interesting to list all of the creators that have worked on my productions, starting in 1995 with What A Cartoon! at Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Network in 1995. If you look at any of the 140 individual links (!) you’ll see that almost all of them have had estimable careers in cartoons or animation adjacent (comics, video games, VFX and the like). Some have created hit series with me, some without (sigh!) and some have become quite famous. One way or the other, they’ve all been amazing.

Quote
The rule expressed by Balfour in his Practicks notwithstanding, there is evidence that women did act as procurators in the courts. In an action brought against Agnes Eldar, daughter and heiress of the late John Eldar and her tutors, Agnes is said to have appeared by Margaret Wallace, Sir John Inglis and Master James Carmuir her 'tutoris and procuratouris'. Margaret was Agnes' mother and it might be better to analyse her appearance in court on Agnes' behalf more in terms of her role as tutrix than as a procurator strictly speaking even though that term is also used. Much the same might be said of similar later examples such as Alexander Newton who compeared by Margaret Kerr his 'modir tutrix & governour' and John Murray who appeared by Agnes Cockburn his 'modir & tutrice'. It should be noted that a woman appearing as a pupil's tutrix need not be that pupil's mother. For example, Marion Douglas was tutrix testamentary of William Douglas of Moffat (presumably her nephew) and represented him in an action brought against William and his widowed mother Margaret Herries. The word 'tutrix' was not used when George, Agnes, Elizabeth and Margaret, the children of the late Lord Glamis and his wife Janet Douglas, were noted 'comperand be jonet douglas thir moder procuratoure &factour. They were pursuing a summons that was raised at their instance against John Lyoun and his accomplices for 'spuilzie', or dispossession without warrant or consent, of sixteen oxen which belonged to them and had been in their mother's keeping. In an interesting dispute concerning the ownership of a black gown lined with velvet which had been left in his will by George Hepburn, the late dean of Dunkeld, Margaret Cornwell appeared as procurator for her son Master Adam Cockburn and argued that the gown had been gifted by the dean to the bishop of Dunkeld. There is no question of Margaret acting as tutor in this case. Women clearly acted in court as procurators for their children (whether pupils or not) but did they act for their husbands? Of interest here is a constitution of procurators by David Heriot of Trabroun in January 1531. Heriot constituted 'M[aster] John Lethame Sir Alexander Scott M[aster] robert calbraith M[aster] thomas merioribankis and marioun cokburn his spous' his procurators in his action against William Hepburn 'eme' to the Earl Bothwell and in all his other actions. Nor is this unique. A fragment from the burgh court of Edinburgh, belonging to the reign of James IV, contains a constitution of procurators by John Cant which includes the provost Alexander Lauder, Master James Henryson (who was at the time the king's advocate) and Agnes Carkettle who was Cant's wife. This was a general constitution, empowering procurators to appear in all actions concerning Cant in both spiritual and temporal courts. When Margaret Moncrief, widow of Robert Mercer, brought an action against Robert's son and heir also named Robert, to act as her warrantor and to defend lands assigned by him as her terce after her first husband's death, she no only appeared for herself but also as procurator for her present husband Henry Luvell. Likewise Margaret Somerville, wife of the Edinburgh burgess Robert Adamson, appeared in person on behalf of her husband and herself to pursue an action of spuilzie against Sir John Sinclair of Driden and his son. In one case it was alleged by the king's advocate that John Cant had broken an arrestment made by royal authority of a ship in the port of Leith. The arrestment was made because the ship was carrying Norwegian timber and by statute no merchant was to purchase any foreign timber brought in to the realm until the king had the opportunity of doing so. Cant appeared by his wife to defend the case against him. The argument put forward on his behalf was that he was 'vesyit (visited)with the hand of god in greit seiknes' three weeks before and some four or five days after the skipper of the ship had delivered the timber to his wife; during this time he never handled the timber nor was he aware of the arrestment. The penalty for breaking the king's arrestment was severe- escheat of movable goods and imprisonment for a year and a day- and it is indicative of Cant's faith in his wife that he should allow her to represent him in court. These were women entrusted with the same authority to act in the name of their husbands as was customarily exercised by husbands in relation to their wives. This can be clearly seen from the activities of Elizabeth Blair the wife of Ninian Stewart, sheriff of Bute. Elizabeth, together with Master Duncan Lennox, vicar of Kingarth, appeared as Ninian's procurator in an action concerning rent owed by the latter to the comptroller for his lordship of Bute. Master William Gibson, dean of Lestalrig, gave cuation that Ninian would pay the comptroller £40 by Michaelmas while Elizabeth and Duncan undertook to stand surety for his relief in the event that Ninian failed to pay.

Altrove - “Tossica Animica”
A 11 anni inizia a scrivere canzoni.

Frederator’s 20th Anniversary: 1998-2001
I promised to post a few Frederator highlights looking back from our 20th year.
Our first few years were dominated by figuring out how to be independent again. After five years with Hanna-Barbera and working for Turner Broadcasting running Hanna-Barbera, figuring out how to get my own thing going took a little while.
1998 was the year we debuted our first cartoon show, Oh Yeah! Cartoons on Nickelodeon. When we wrapped the season, the party poster had a last minute tongue in cheek joke that inadvertently set the promise for Frederator Studios: “Original Cartoons since 1998.”
Frederator itself existed completely to the beneficence of Herb Scannell and Albie Hecht at Nickelodeon and Tom Freston and Judy McGrath at Nick's parent, MTV Networks. We’d all worked together for a decade before I decamped to Hanna-Barbera, and when Ted Turner sold his company they kindly asked me back to make cartoons and consult on programming issues at their company.
On the first day it was just me and Stephanie Stephens in a temporary conference room in North Hollywood. Our building was right next to what would soon be a notorious bank robbery shootout, and within weeks we were joined by my Hanna-Barbera collaborator Larry Huber, and a teenage Alex Kirwan in his first full time production job, both ready to tackle Oh Yeah! (Steve Hillenburg was in the same space as us, working hard on some pilot about a sponge.) Within the year, Eric Homan had had it at Warner Bros. Animation Art and joined up for what’s turned out to be an amazing partnership, first to help develop properties from our short lived time at the helm of the Kitchen Sink Press, and then onto more cartoon-y pursuits.
Oh Yeah! was my second cartoon shorts incubator, taking up where the Hanna-Barbera back-to-the-future experiment, Cartoon Network’s What A Cartoon!, left off. All together the shorts featured 34 original creators and 99 original cartoons. Right from the go it spawned two hit series, Larry Huber's and Bill Burnett's ChalkZone and Butch Hartman's The Fairly OddParents, quickly followed by Rob Renzetti’s My Life as a Teenage Robot. Several of the other creators stayed in Frederator's circle of talent for the next two decades.
1999
Frederator looked everywhere for creators. During our first years, most worked in the Los Angeles animation industry, and many came from right within the Oh Yeah! crew. Mike Bell was a writer on Dave Wasson's Tales from the Goose Lady and went on to create Super Santa and The Forgotten Toybox; Tim Biskup was a Season 1 background designer. Co-executive producer Larry Huber had worked in the cartoon business since the 1960's. Alex Kirwan had been a high school student who won a contest we had at H&B. I was lucky that many –Hartman, Burnett, Moncrief, Thompson, Renzetti, Ventura, Eng, MacFarlane– came over with me from Hanna-Barbera. On the other hand, Pennsylvania based David Burd worked with me at MTV back in the day.
This season we also got introduced to our first tween creator, 12 year old John Reynolds on his Terry and Chris short, with a story, design, and directing assist from Butch Hartman. A grown up John has become a member in good standing in the Los Angeles animation industry.
2000-2001
Frederator Studios took a short break while I moved my family to New York from Los Angeles. Eric Homan took the plunge with me and we leapt into the brave new world that was the consumer internet, when I became president of MTV Networks’ online division with MTV.com, Nick.com, ComedyCentral.com among others.
But cartoons cannot be stopped! Frederator's Nickelodeon cartoons took their next steps with the start of series production based on Butch Hartman's Oh Yeah! short, The Fairly OddParents and Bill Burnett’s and Larry Huber’s ChalkZone (March 22, 2002). Debuting March 30, 2001, FOP would go on to a record run of 16 years (as of 2018) and counting.
Critically, this was the period it dawned on me that I no longer had it in me to be a good corporate employee. But the internet bug had hit squarely and I saw Frederator's future. Quickly, we set up shop as Frederator/New York with computer engineer and visionary Emil Rensing, and trolled around for some work.
We set ourselves up as frederator.kz out of Kazakhstan. It seemed less, um, common.
Little noted, and against the advice of counsel, was the addition to our team of a self taught engineer intern, high school freshman David Karp.
Frederator limited edition postcards
This period was where we started our tradition of Frederator limited edition postcards. The first three series (the “series” designation didn’t actually start for a few years) were the Oh Yeah! seasons, and a few non-series snuck in there too. One of the Frederator/NY clients was MTV's new acquisition, the former Nashville Network they'd rebranded as TNN: The National Network. We threw some Frederator t-shirts along with David Ramage when he went across the country proving the channel was indeed national.
More to come...
Artwork from the top: Frederator’s first announcement illustrated and designed by Arlen Schumer, color by Patrick Raske; Oh Yeah! posters by Hatch Show Print, Nashville; Oh Yeah! Cartoons limited edition sericel, creative direction by Eric Homan; Oh Yeah! postcard, Series 3, 2000.

Week 11 Wrap: The Dallas Cowboys show signs of fantasy football life
Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Cowboys emerged from their bye with a wholesome Andy Dalton and a way more competent offense, together with Ezekiel Elliott recording his first 100-yard speeding sport of the season in the course of the crew’s 31-28 upset win. The Vikings’ protection had been enjoying significantly better of late, but Dalton’s return resulted in as many touchdowns earlier than halftime (two) that Dallas had scored in complete since Dak Prescott went down in Week 5.
Elliott had nonetheless been battling hamstring points all through observe this week however appeared higher after the bye, though Tony Pollard recorded Dallas’ longest run of the season throughout his 42-yard landing … CeeDee Lamb had a very nice TD catch, and Dalton Schultz must be a weekly viable possibility now in a weak tight finish group. Nevertheless, the Cowboys’ schedule doesn’t look tremendous straightforward down the stretch, so whereas Dalton’s return helps, it stays unlikely the crew can hold three vast receivers’ fantasy values afloat as everybody hoped getting into the season.
Dalvin Cook dinner misplaced a fumble however shook off a tough hit and continues to appear like the perfect again within the league proper now, whereas Kirk Cousins entered main the NFL in Passer Score in the course of the fourth quarter after which added one other two TD tosses within the sport’s last 15 minutes. Cousins leads the league in YPA this season (and ranks second in CPAE) and has now thrown a whopping 14 touchdowns over 5 residence video games.
Adam Thielen entered because the NFL’s chief in end-zone targets and added one other two landing grabs, whereas Justin Jefferson entered with essentially the most receiving yards within the league since Week 3 (and averaging the third-most receiving yards per sport ever as a rookie) and scored Sunday as nicely. Jefferson is one more spectacular rookie receiver this yr, as he truly leads the NFL in yards per route run, though he had a drop that helped finish Minnesota’s last drive. The Vikings stay one of many league’s largest enigmas, as this was their first loss since Week 6 (once they had been additionally sizable residence favorites).
Story continues
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Cleveland Browns
Climate was an element for the third straight sport in Cleveland, though Carson Wentz is working out of excuses with one other tough efficiency. The primary-place Eagles appear reluctant to bench Wentz, who has essentially the most turnovers and sacks taken within the NFL, however Jalen Hurts must be rostered in Superflex leagues … Miles Sanders additionally disillusioned in opposition to a protection lacking Myles Garrett, dropping a fumble at Cleveland’s five-yard line … Kareem Hunt obtained a goal-line TD, however Nick Chubb was as soon as once more Cleveland’s finest working again, as he leads the NFL in YPC after contact by a large margin … The Eagles are the one crew that’s allowed extra speeding touchdowns than passing TDs this season. The 7-Three Browns now go on the highway 4 of their subsequent 5 video games.
Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints
Taysom Hill appeared like a cell Drew Brees in a formidable efficiency that included one other 57-yard TD go referred to as again by penalty (and a uncommon Michael Thomas drop). Hill obtained 10.1 YPA whereas turning into simply the third quarterback in NFL historical past to make his first profession begin at 30+ years previous, and he’s now a weekly fantasy starter given his speeding capacity (Hill led the Saints in speeding yards Sunday and added two scores on the bottom) … It was a good matchup, however Hill additionally confirmed a very good reference to Michael Thomas, whose fantasy managers can breathe a giant sigh of reduction … Matt Ryan watched Julio Jones depart early and his o-line get overwhelmed, leading to eight sacks and 0 offensive touchdowns for Atlanta … Alvin Kamara scored in opposition to a Falcons protection that’s been stingy versus fantasy backs, however his one goal is completely regarding shifting ahead given the QB change.
Detroit Lions vs. Carolina Panthers
P.J. Walker had a few unhealthy picks however was loads competent in any other case, making the most of a good matchup to assist hold all three Carolina receivers related. Matthew Stafford, however, struggled badly whereas enjoying via a sprained thumb and with out Kenny Golladay, Danny Amendola, and D’Andre Swift. Stafford has dramatic splits with/with out Kenny G this season, and Sunday he had a 51-yard TD to Marvin Jones referred to as again by an inconsequential five-yard penalty, because it’s been a tough season for the Lions … In a main matchup and with Detroit lacking many items on offense together with Swift, the once-promising Kerryon Johnson nonetheless completed with fewer carries and yards than 35-year-old Adrian Peterson … Why not goal T.J. Hockenson extra?
New England Patriots vs. Houston Texans
Cam Newton switched it up and threw for 365 yards however added simply six speeding yards with no rating on the bottom, whereas Deshaun Watson continues to hold Houston’s offense, serving to the Texans win in the course of the oldest teaching matchup in NFL historical past. Watson now sports activities a good 61:Three TD:INT ratio within the red-zone throughout his profession, and whereas he clearly gained’t get any votes, he’s performed like an MVP this season … Duke Johnson is doing his finest job of constructing David Johnson look first rate, whereas Jakobi Meyers went from rating #1 in WOPR over the past three weeks to in some way seeing simply three measly targets Sunday (that additionally featured a Donte Moncrief sighting!) … Damien Harris entered getting 5.5 YPC regardless of dealing with the very best common variety of defenders within the field this season (he is additionally Alabama’s all-time chief in YPC) however managed simply 3.9 YPC in opposition to a Houston run protection that entered ranked final in DVOA. Nonetheless, Harris added a landing and noticed his first goal in November, and Sony Michel was a wholesome scratch, so it wasn’t all unhealthy.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Props to Jacksonville for trying an onside kick after going up 3-Zero early, as huge underdogs ought to improve variance like that, though one might argue giving the ball again to Jake Luton (15.5 Passer Score) wouldn’t improve the crew’s win likelihood … Ben Roethlisberger obtained 5.Eight YPA in opposition to a Jaguars protection that entered permitting an NFL-high 8.6 YPA, and James Conner as soon as once more obtained faraway from the goal-line, disappointing some fantasy managers in a extremely favorable matchup. After all, Pittsburgh gained by 24 factors anyway, because the crew improved to 10-Zero for the primary time in franchise historical past … Diontae Johnson noticed a whopping 16 targets, together with this highlight-worthy seize, whereas Chase Claypool grew to become the primary participant within the Tremendous Bowl period to report 10 TD catches within the first 10 video games of his profession.
Chase Claypool simply continues to impress. (AP Picture/Phelan M. Ebenhack)
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Washington Soccer Group
Joe Burrow suffered a severe harm, as Washington continues to be essentially the most harmful place for quarterbacks’ legs. Burrow definitely impressed throughout his rookie season, which isn’t surprising to see finish prematurely given all of the hits he was being subjected to whereas main the NFL in go makes an attempt. Ryan Finley is a giant downgrade for Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Gio Bernard … Antonio Gibson has extra touches over the past weeks than he had carries all through his faculty profession, and he’s lapping Jonathan Taylor, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and all different rookie backs not named James Robinson in fantasy worth proper now.
Tennessee Titans vs. Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson was OK throughout a matchup most had been hoping for an eruption, because it doesn’t seem Baltimore’s offense will probably be fastened anytime quickly. It was good to see Mark Andrews so concerned, as was seeing J.Okay. Dobbins emerge because the Ravens’ obvious new lead again, however Marquise Brown’s nightmare season bottomed out with three catchless targets that included one ugly drop in opposition to a Titans protection that entered permitting the second-most fantasy factors to vast receivers. Is Dez Bryant actually going to have extra fantasy worth down the stretch? … Derrick Henry’s second additional time landing of the season was additionally the 50th TD run of his profession, actually handing the Ravens an L.
Miami Dolphins vs. Denver Broncos
Drew Lock was higher after an early choose, however he largely struggled but once more and had his last numbers aided by this bizarre 61-yard completion on the sport’s last play … Tua Tagovailoa failed throughout his try and change into the primary rookie QB since Ben Roethlisberger to win his first 4 video games, as he took six sacks whereas getting simply 4.2 YPA earlier than being benched within the fourth quarter. It appears unlikely, however it will be excellent news for DeVante Parker if Miami turned again to Ryan Fitzpatrick … Salvon Ahmed left at one level Sunday however returned and continued to dominate Miami’s backfield, together with seeing six targets, so his arrow continues to level up regardless of the poor field rating. Matt Breida’s return didn’t matter, and the Dolphins’ schedule actually eases up now, so the one concern can be Myles Gaskin returning … Melvin Gordon scored two touchdowns and almost had a 3rd, solely to lose a fumble proper on the objective line.
New York Jets vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert’s 277 passing yards within the first half had been the second-most within the league this season, and the rookie completed with one other three scores whereas making it look straightforward (and it’s not his fault the Chargers make successful so tough). Joe Flacco countered with one of many worst pick-sixes you’ll ever see … Frank Gore scored a landing sooner or later after his son hit pay dust, which definitely appears extra essential than auditioning La’Mical Perine for the longer term … Kalen Ballage fought via an early harm however disillusioned throughout his revenge sport given the matchup and 9 targets … After all, that’s nonetheless 10 fewer than Keenan Allen’s 19 (!) appears … Breshad Perriman had video game-like exercise metrics for somebody his measurement, so he’d be fairly attention-grabbing if issues ever broke proper … He’ll be straightforward to miss in a loaded rookie WR class and due to the Jets’ scenario, however Denzel Mims has actually impressed throughout his brief time on the sphere this yr … The Jets have twice as many roughing the passer penalties (10) as every other crew within the NFL, which is further spectacular contemplating they’re among the many backside groups in QB pressures … Simply once we thought 2020 couldn’t probably get any stranger, Chris Herndon caught a landing.
Inexperienced Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Packers scored 28 factors within the first half however had been held to simply three within the second half, which included an additional time possession that abruptly ended with a Marquez Valdes-Scantling softly-lost fumble (such an MVS transfer). The odd sport additionally included a ton of holding penalties and a sequence late that noticed the Colts run simply 1:41 off the clock over 14 snaps … Sunday morning reviews instructed Nyheim Hines (six carries, two yards) may take over Indy’s backfield, nevertheless it was Jonathan Taylor who dominated the work with 26 touches. Taylor entered ranked bottom-five in YPC after contact and elusive score, so this was definitely an encouraging growth. The rookie had a 20+ yard TD run referred to as again by a penalty as nicely, though admittedly the maintain helped … Michael Pittman Jr. must be seeing greater than three targets.

MILWAUKEE’S GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO WINS 2019-20 KIA NBA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD
– 2018-19 Kia NBA MVP Becomes the Fifth Player Named NBA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in a Career
NEW YORK, Aug. 25, 2020 – The Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named the 2019-20 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, the NBA announced today. This marks the first NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award for Antetokounmpo, who finished in second place last season. Antetokounmpo, the 2018-19 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, becomes the fifth player selected as both the NBA MVP and the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in a career, joining Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson and Kevin Garnett. The 6-11 Greek forward also joins Sidney Moncrief as the only players to win the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award with the Bucks. Moncrief played for Milwaukee when he earned the honor in both the 1982-83 and 1983-84 seasons, the first two seasons that the award was presented. Antetokounmpo received 75 first-place votes from a global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters and earned 432 total points. Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis (200 points; 14 first-place votes) and Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (187 points; six first-place votes) finished in second and third place, respectively. Gobert was honored as the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year in each of the previous two seasons. Players were awarded five points for each first-place vote, three points for each second-place vote and one point for each third-place vote. The voting was conducted based on regular-season games played through March 11. The seeding games, which were played July 30 – Aug. 14 as part of the 2019-20 season restart, did not count toward voting for the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award or the league’s other traditional end-of-season awards. In games played through March 11, Antetokounmpo led the Bucks to the NBA’s best defensive rating as they allowed 101.6 points per 100 possessions. With Antetokounmpo on the court, Milwaukee allowed only 96.5 points per 100 possessions, the lowest defensive rating among the more than 300 players who averaged at least 15.0 minutes per game.
From the beginning of the season through March 11, Milwaukee’s opponents shot an NBA-low 41.3 percent from the field. Antetokounmpo held his matchups to 36.5 percent shooting from the field, the lowest percentage among the more than 250 players who faced at least 300 shots. Antetokounmpo averaged an NBA-high 11.5 defensive rebounds in games played through March 11, highlighted by nine games with at least 15 defensive rebounds. He also averaged 1.04 steals and 1.02 blocked shots, making him one of six players to average one or more in both categories. In addition to being named the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Antetokounmpo is a finalist for the 2019-20 Kia NBA Most Valuable Award after averaging 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists in games played through March 11 while helping Milwaukee post an NBA-best 53-12 record during that period. Tell us the best team to never win an NBA title
Photo credit should read DAN LEVINE/AFP via Getty Images
We need your help in picking one NBA non-champion to rule them all.
Last week, we at SB Nation began our quest to uncover the best NBA team to never win a title. We laid out some critical ground rules — one team per era, and teams that won a title in the same era were not permitted to enter. We came up with 64 teams in NBA history and split them into four different “divisions,” each classifying (to the best of our ability) the way in which they fell short.
If you missed all that, take some time to check it out by clicking on these links. We put a lot of work into these pieces. Chances are they’ll answer any question you have about why your favorite historical team is or isn’t involved in this exercise.
But we’re far from done. Now, we need your help in picking one non-champion to rule all the non-champions. Click this link to sign up for SB Nation FanPulse and vote on each matchup in our final 32-team Titleless tournament.
We’ll be running this all week before crowning a final “champion” Friday.
How we got here:
We asked each of our 30 SB Nation NBA team communities to nominate one team from the original list of 64 to be their franchise’s representative in this final tournament of non-champions. (It’s an even 30 because a) Seattle is its own franchise, and b) Charlotte has no team to nominate).
Here are the teams they chose:
ATLANTA HAWKS: 2014-15 team (Coach Bud era) BOSTON CELTICS: 2001-02 team (Pierce/Walker era) CHICAGO BULLS: 2010-11 team (Derrick Rose era) CLEVELAND CAVALIERS: 2008-09 team (LeBron Pre-Decision era) DALLAS MAVERICKS: 2006-07 team (Dirk pre-Carlisle era) DENVER NUGGETS: 1984-85 team (Doug Moe era) DETROIT PISTONS: 1996-97 team (Grant Hill pre-injuries era) GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS: 1963-64 team (Young Wilt) HOUSTON ROCKETS: 2017-18 team (current Rockets era) INDIANA PACERS: 1997-98 team (Reggie Miller era) LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS: 2013-14 team (Lob City era) LOS ANGELES LAKERS: 1997-98 team (Pre-Phil Jackson era) MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES: 2014-15 team (Grit ‘N Grind era. Grizzly Bear Blues’ preference) MIAMI HEAT: 1996-97 team (Alonzo Mourning/Pat Riley era) MILWAUKEE BUCKS: 2018-19 team (current era) MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES: 2003-04 team (KG era) NEW JERSEY NETS: 2002-03 team (Jason Kidd era) NEW ORLEANS HORNETS: 2007-08 team (CP3 era) NEW YORK KNICKS: 1992-93 team (Patrick Ewing era) OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER: 2011-12 team (Pre-James Harden trade era) ORLANDO MAGIC: 1994-95 team (Shaq/Penny era) PHILADELPHIA 76ERS: 1981-82 team (Dr. J pre-Moses Malone era) PHOENIX SUNS: 2004-05 team (Steve Nash era) PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS: 1990-91 team (Clyde Drexler era) SACRAMENTO KINGS: 2001-02 team (Chris Webber and friends era) SAN ANTONIO SPURS: 1994-95 team (David Robinson pre-Tim Duncan era) SEATTLE SUPERSONICS: 1993-94 team (Payton/Kemp/Karl era) TORONTO RAPTORS: 2017-18 team (Pre-Kawhi Leonard era) UTAH JAZZ: 1996-97 team (Stockton/Malone era) WASHINGTON WIZARDS/BULLETS: 1968-69 team (Wes + Earl Monroe era)
To get to an even 16 in the East, I chose the two highest-ranked remaining clubs from that conference. They were:
2009-10 Orlando Magic. (I had 2008-09 originally from the Dwight/Stan Van Gundy era, but our Magic site and J.J. Redick himself convinced me the 2009-10 team was better.)
1985-86 Milwaukee Bucks. (Sidney Moncrief era)
Then, I re-seeded each remaining team in each conference.
And now, here is the bracket:
Again, here’s the link to vote on the matchups.
WESTERN CONFERENCE

So what happens now?
Each day, we’ll ask you to vote on the matchups using our FanPulse survey. There are five rounds and five days this week, so each day will bring a new round. We’ll update you all with the results on this page.
To prevent ballot-box stuffing by more popular fanbases or other shenanigans, we have added two checks to the system. In addition to fan voting, we will also do the following:
Run a simulation of a seven-game series for each matchup on WhatifSports.com. The higher seed will have home-court advantage.
I’ll make my own picks for each matchup without looking at the survey results.
If — and ONLY if — both contradict the FanPulse vote, the result will be overturned. Otherwise, the FanPulse vote carries the day.
Ready? Let’s pick our non-champion champion!
Vote here.
