the princess and the badger

this is not a fairytale, just d&d shenanigans

so in the game i play in, we have one character who's a half elf half orc - Princess Harley (full title Princess Harley McManley Damanly, Strong of Biceps, Son of David. I assume the David part is important). He's usually our tank, despite his literal class being princess, and he's also very very not smart.

way way early on in the game, our DM gave us a plot hook where we saw a meteor land. we all split up to look for it - me, the wizard, our monk, and Harley. Harley, having something like a -2 to INT, rolled terribly, and i'm so glad I have the actual quote of what our DM told him for his result:

"Harley, you find a hole in the ground and spend the better part of 30 mins trying to drag a suspoiusoly badger shaped meteor before in scurries off away."

obviously Harley was not going to give up that easily

Harley, convinced that this fiesty meteor was getting away, chased after the badger. He then burst back into where I had managed to find the actual meteor, holding an angry badger. Forced to roll stealth to avoid the NPCs who had gotten there before us, Harley shushed the badger with a series of threatening gestures (after a nat20 roll) and then attempted to trade his badger-meteor for their real meteor.

The badger got away in the ensuing fight, but Harley wasn't going to give up that easily.

A while later, after Many Plot Hooks, our party (now with the addition of a rogue and a druid) was in the Feywild on a quest to find Titania's crown. There's no text record of this escapade because we'd used voice chat for that session, but there is this:

Harley is very, very bad at finding anything but badgers. Which was perfectly encapsulated by the most recent incident, where Harley (after being a terrible lookout during a heist), rejoined our party....carrying a badger, for absolutely no reason.

Just, absolutely no reason.

We were in the fantasy arctic circle, so nobody has any idea where the badger came from, least of all the DM. Harley eventually let it go after our sorceror refused to take it from him when he tried to hand it over, so I can only assume that there is now a badger loose in my wizard's arctic hometown.

Godspeed, badger.

I don't know if you have a face claim for Armont but he vaguely makes me think of David McManley. Such a gorgeous man.
