same season where Finn said that Mike being clueless about Will's feelings in the van scene will pay off in the end and Noah said that "Mike was always super protective of Will and Will always leaned on him, and you could never really tell if it was something romantic or just a really special friendship" btw, Ross Duffer said that Will's emotional arc is what ties up the whole series and s5 is centered around Will (and his relationship with Mike, his boyfriend)

Will's emotional arc is based on his romantic love for Mike and him thinking he doesn't deserve love cuz he's gay (he's gonna get proved wrong in s5 when he starts dating Mike), they made Will spell "lover" in the words game in a s5 bts pic because he's gonna have a boyfriend (Mike) and a leaker confirmed Will's love interest is gonna be Mike

Personally, I just can’t wait to see what the cast and creators of Byler will have to say about the relationship once it’s no longer a secret. Like, as much as Byler means to us fans, it’s hard to imagine what it must mean to the Duffers who came up with the concept in the first place, to Noah, for whom Will’s journey was a part of him understanding and accepting himself as a queer individual, or to Finn, who actually brought to life probably the best representation of a closeted gay man with internalized homophobia there is.

It’s possible that the Duffers and probably Winona, David, Finn, Charlie etc. may have known about Byler for YEARS!! For all we know it could’ve been pitched as a huge part of the story all those years ago, and they’ve all had to stay quiet and keep their lips tightly sealed for God knows how long. I can only imagine that they probably know so much that we don’t know and probably have so much that they’d like to say about it, and it’ll be like the floodgates come bursting open once Byler becomes canon lol.

I need to know the details. I want to know exactly how far along they were into filming when people started to find out about Byler. I want to know Noah and Finn’s initial reaction and how they took directions (however vague they may have been) for their characters, and what they were told to do/not do, to talk about or not talk about. How long have David and Winona known about it? What was Noah’s reaction when he found out that his character would be getting a queer happy ending? It’s just wild bc Byler is woven so deeply into the show’s narrative in the script, the writing, the acting, lighting, the set design, etc. etc. that we will probably never truly know every little thing and every little thought that went into creating Byler. But I personally would like to know as much as humanly possible.
