Mary Timony- Untame the Tiger (Merge)
For 30 years, Mary Timony (Ex Hex, Autoclave, Helium, Wild Flag) has rocked the independent music world. Finally, Mary released her first solo release in 15 years. Unfortunately, it came during a time dealing with the end of a relationship and two ailing parents (and eventually losing both of them). “This was the hardest thing I’ve been through. Every week I had to manage a new crisis.” The album was recorded over two years with various studios and such. Dave Mattacks on drums and Chad Molter on bass join Mary on guitars. It was produced by Mary Timony, multi-instrumentalists Dennis Kane and Joe Wong, and mixed by Dave Fridmann. “No Thirds” kicks off the album with a killer guitar riff. Love the angelic backing vocals and strings mix. The lyrics tell it like it is. “A brand-new day, it still hurts like hell. You said nothing like there was nothing to tell.” The song ends with a Television-like guitar jam. Track 3, “Dominoes,” is a dreamy rocker with a kick reminiscent of O’Jays’ “For the Love of Money.” Nice touch with acoustic guitars here. Mary shares her relationship struggles here, “When you said it was forever, you looked me right in the eye. But the next second you were gone, and that’s when I realized. That was a lie.” Next is “Looking for the Sun.” The album slows down a bit or does it?  Sounds like a long lost Bangles track, which is a good thing in my book. The song ends with a dreamy jam I would love to hear live. Track 5, “The Guest,” is a twangy, slow, sad song with those beautiful harmonies again. Lots of intricate guitar work here. “The Dream,” really slows the mood down to an almost bluesy pace. About halfway through, the mood picks up with a beautiful blast of vocals, guitars, and strings. “I had a dream that nothing was really real. Want to tell you how I feel but... I don’t wanna undream the dream.” The title track, "Untame The Tiger," starts off with the guitars giving off an almost sitar sound, but then it takes a big shift back to the rockin’ guitar sound. Dennis Kane adds rhythm guitar and David Christian adds percussion on this one. More of Mary’s troubles are expressed in the lyrics, “Thought I was through with you. And the tiger was tamed. But now my brain is running hot...Wanna go where your animal runs free, I hear it call my name. What did I get for loving you? Nothing but pain.” Untame the Tiger is nine songs Mary penned during a tough time. I’m hoping this album provided the catharsis she needed to get through this; and that this will do the same for any listener going through the same. (I know I can personally relate.) Mary is currently out touring the album; hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to hear these songs performed live. ERIC EGGLESON https://www.mergerecords.com/artist/mary_timony

Dave Molter Honors a Dear Friend on New Single 'Late December'
Artist: Dave Molter
New Release: Late December
Genre: Rock, pop, alternative rock
Sounds like: : Peter Gabriel, Beatles, Brian Wilson
Located in: : Pittsburgh,PA
I write relatable songs that usually focus on relationships.
I'm influenced by many artists I've listened to throughout my 56-year career. The Beatles will always be my prime influence, but I also incorporate things I learned from Brian Wilson, Peter Gabriel, and any artist or band whose songs are driven by melody. If you listen to my catalog, you'll find me hard to pin down stylistically. My pieces vary from British Invasion-era pop to psychedelic rock, blues, pop, and, sometimes, prog rock. I think anyone who has been in love will relate to the lyrics of "Late December." Specifically, it's the tale of a man who sees his relationship with a woman slipping away because, no matter how good things are, she sees only the negative aspects. Thinking about this, an image of bleakness came to me – a dark, dreary day in mid-winter when her black mood against snow produced shades of gray. Thus, the chorus begins: "In your mind, it's always late December/All I find is love's dying ember/Don't let it burn out/Where there's a spark can be flame."
Although the singer presents the case for saving the relationship, we can't be sure that he succeeds. But more than that, I've released "Late December" as an attribute to my longtime friend and producer Buddy Hall, who passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 29, 2021. This tune is exceptionally long — probably too long to be single if you go by most radio standards. But I think that indie radio is flexible enough to include songs of any length. Buddy and I envisioned "Late December" as an album-closer, the kind of thing you might have heard in the wee hours of the morning when FM Album Oriented Radio sometimes played an entire LP.
Buddy's production is lush, and the dynamic guitar solos are by Reb Beach of Whitesnake, Winger, Black Swan, and other high-profile solemn rock acts. We hope that by the time you finish listening to "Late December," you will find yourself transported to a world that you don't want to leave.
We're stretching out on "Late December," flexing our musical muscles and trying to achieve a mood that creates a world you can become immersed in quickly. I hope listeners will see themselves in the lyrics. Love isn't always pretty: It has its ups and downs and often can be painful. But love teaches lessons, good or bad. If we don't learn, we fade away.
We're currently riding the wave of chart success...
We're currently riding the wave of chart success generated by my last single, "It Was You," which debuted at #1 on several indie stations and still is doing very well. That success makes it easy to plan for our next releases. We didn't plan on releasing "Late December" at present, but circumstances dictated that we should. We're still in the studio working on new tunes that will defy categorization again. We like it that way!
About the Artist...
An accomplished veteran of the Pittsburgh, Midwest, and East Coast music scenes since 1965, Dave Molter counts The Beatles as his primary influence.
"Foolish Heart," Dave's debut EP, has produced four No. 1 singles since its release in September 2019. Dave's sixth single, "Oh Woman, Don't You Cry," debuted at #1 on Radio VGR in the UK three days after its release in December 2019.
Dave's latest EP, "It Was You," is a compendium of styles, from Sixties power-pop to country and contemporary rock. The title track debuted at #1 in the UK two days after its release.
Says Dave: "I'm still blown away by the response from listeners to my music! I've heard from fans and deejays all over the world, and it's gratifying to know that we share a common belief in the power of love expressed through music.
"John Lennon said it best in 1967: 'All you need is love!" I still believe it!"

Interview with Dave Molter
Interview with Dave Molter
The songs on Mid-Century Manare influenced not only by the Beatles and other British Invasion-era acts — including American participants like The Byrds, The Beau Brummels, The Turtles and others — but also by prog rock, psychedelia, West Coast jazz and even some music hall odes. The overriding theme of the album is love: love found, love lost, love regained.  Love taken for granted; love…

Dave Molter Gives us some Blues to Groove with on (Really Nothin' New) Under the Sun
Artist: Dave Molter
New Release: (Really Nothin' New) Under the Sun
Genre: Rock; blues rock
Sounds like: I'm all over the place: Beatles, Joe Walsh, Delbert McClinton, Peter Gabriel
Located in: Pittsburgh, PA
One of my friends called this tune "swampy," and I have to agree. It's a medium blues groove that is familiar but with a bit of a surprise on the turnaround. Great slide guitar from Dave Flodine adds to the mood. The title gives you the subject matter: "(Really Nothin' New) Under the Sun." And haven't we all felt like that?
You wake up with energy and — before the day’s over you are confronted with the same old problems.
“Under the Sun” sounds different from the songs on my debut EP, "Foolish Heart." It's stripped-down -- just guitar, piano, bass, drums, no harmony on the lead vocals. By contrast, most of the songs on my EP have multiple overdubs and sound more "produced."
The difference in "Under the Sun" and many of the songs that will appear on my next EPs is that I changed studios and producers. Al Snyder is at the helm this time, and his approach -- with which I agree -- is that lyrics are paramount. The feel of the song is important, too, and likes to leave space in the production and instrumentation so that the listeners don't have to struggle to hear what's being sung. I think listeners will find that the approach works.
That doesn't mean we won't have songs with heavier production on the next EPs, but there will be a lot with minimal instrumentation.
It's no secret that The Beatles are my main influence, but I've been playing for more than 50 years.
Most of that time was spent in cover bands, and when you play Top 40, you become aware that there are a lot of valid styles out there. This tune is influenced by blues, but I still have songs in the pipeline that reflect the British music hall era, Sixties pop-rock, and a few more. As for the message in "Under the Sun," it's simple: Life’s work in progress. Don’t give up. Same problems? Keep on pushin’! I know that in my life, I've been tempted to give up. But I didn't; I just reinvented myself. Many times, actually!
Being that I have just switched producers and studios, we plan to have a new EP with 5 or 6 songs out before Christmas 2020.
Most will be new songs, but some will be ones we had in the can from my previous sessions with Buddy Hall.
In 2021, We’ll put out more EPs. I think EPs are the way to go, along with singles. No one seems in the mood to listen to a full CD anymore.
As for shows, with COVID-19 it's hard to tell what 2021 will bring.
We've talked about putting together a band with friends who also write and doing shows with tunes from each of us. I doubt a tour is possible these days. What we hope to do is have ticketed shows in small venues -- clubs or theaters -- that will allow us to observe social distancing rules (if they are still in effect). No matter what we do, the business will be different than what we envisioned a year ago.
About the Artist…
Dave Molter began his music career in 1965, one year after seeing The Beatles on "The Ed Sullivan Show." In the early days, Dave's bands had 45 RPM records out, but most of his career was spent in clubs or opening for big-name acts such as The Allman Brothers, Deep Purple, The Rascals, The Impressions, and many more. After a hiatus from performing, Dave released his debut EP, "Foolish Heart," in 2020.
Since its release, four of the five tunes on it have hit #1 on indie radio worldwide, and his sixth single, "Oh Woman, Don't You Cry," also hit #1. "He was a finalist in four categories for the 2020 Josie Awards and the 2020 International Singer-Songwriter Awards, and "Foolish Heart" or songs from it appeared on several "Best of 2019" year-end lists. His songs continue to be in rotation on indie radios around the world, including Africa, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Germany, Sweden, the U.K, the U.S., And many more.

"It Was You" by Dave Molter is a tribute to the pop acts of the mid-Sixties
"It Was You" by Dave Molter is a tribute to the pop acts of the mid-Sixties
The song references mostly American acts like the Turtles or Monkees, but also British acts like The Kinks, which sometimes ventured out of rock norms to throw in a touch of the British Music hall. All these acts occasionally released uptempo, sunny, happy, sometimes silly tunes with catchy choruses. This song is in the same vein. It can be sung by either a man or a woman, the overriding sentiment is that the person being sung about changed the singer's life. I've been lucky enough to have this happen to me a few times, but I have to admit the most recent time has been the best.
Envision the singer romping through the park on a sunny day, throwing caution -- and maybe flower petals -- to the wind. Instrumentation recalls those classic tunes: bright guitar, thumping bass and drums, a happy, singalong breakdown with handclaps followed by trumpets, and a calliope on the repeated outro. Calliope suggests, of course, a circus. At least in my day, everyone loved the circus. But you'll also hear calliope on a merry-go-round. Either way, it's a happy sound.
Most of my songs deal with love, in all its forms. This is happy love. I can't promise that all my love songs will be happy because sometimes loves hurts (or stinks, or sucks -- pick your verb)!
"It Was You" is a continuation of ground I explored on my debut EP from 2019, "Foolish Heart." I'm heavily influenced by British and American pop-rock of the mid-Sixties: Beatles, Kinks, Hollies, The Who, Beach Boys, Turtles, Monkees, Grass Roots, anything by Phil Spector or the L.A. studio scene and The Wrecking Crew. A message? Love is probably the most important emotion in the world.

Right now we are...: I'm excited to be working with a new producer -- Al Snyder, at his Albey Road Studio in Pittsburgh. Al is a veteran producer, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He has an unerring sense of musical hooks and lyrics. Al calls himself a "song fixer," and I have to agree: He has fixed more than one of my tunes. Production on the EP is stripped down for the most part, but we're not above raiding the kitchen to see if we have any sinks left to throw in. The “It Was You” EP is the first of at least two EPs we’ll be releasing over the next year. Of course, COVID-19 has thrown a sizeable monkey wrench into the works of live music. Still, we hope to stage a few ticketed shows in larger clubs or small theaters if and when a lockdown is eased in 2021.
An accomplished veteran of the Pittsburgh, Midwest, and East Coast music scenes since 1965, Dave Molter counts The Beatles as his primary influence. It was after seeing The Fab Four on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in 1964 that Dave decided he should be in a band. Most of his career has been spent in nightclubs, but he has been a member of acts that opened for The Rascals, The Allman Brothers, Night Ranger, Deep Purple, and other major headliners from the 1960s through the 2000s.

Where Is Christmas? by Dave Molter and Al Snyder
December 25, 2020, will be a holiday unlike any other in our lifetimes. With COVID-19 social distancing protocols in place, many families will not be able to gather for traditional yuletide celebrations.
It's tough to be apart at the holidays in any year, but we think "Where Is Christmas" has a special poignancy in 2020. Al Snyder's delivery is filled with emotion and provokes a sense of longing that anyone can relate to.
Artist: Molter- Snyder (Dave Molter, Al Snyder)
New Release: Where Is Christmas?
Genre: Holiday, pop
Located in: : Pittsburgh, PA
Al and I grew up at a time when popular music was still reflective of many styles. Although we can and do write rock music in a variety of styles, we're not ashamed to say that we are influenced by the Great American Songbook writers such as Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.
“Where Is Christmas” is our first venture into writing what we’d call a standard pop ballad. The response we’ve received so far makes us think we’ve struck a chord that resonates with everyone, young or old.
Right now we are...
We're working on a Dave's new EP, which will will be released in December 2020. "It Was You" will be in some ways a continuation of Dave's exploration of the Sixties British Invasion-era rock that can be found on his debut EP, "FoolishHeart."

Dave Molter's Rocking Single Fading Away tells a common tale
Artist: Dave Molter
New Release: Fading Away
Genre: Rock
Located in: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
A party rocker meant to be played loud with the top down.
In "Fading Away," we have the story of a guy whose main squeeze is cheating on him. She's seeing other guys, isn't as interested in their relationship. She ignores him, so he feels like he's "Fading Away."
It's a situation almost everyone can relate to, even if they haven't gone through it. There's a wild party going on behind the guitar and sax solos, with one party girl who has had a bit too much tequila. You can hear her giggling. I assume that's his chick. By the end of the tune, our protagonist has decided to accept the situation as it is.
All he wants is for her to give back his records before she leaves. Hasn't everyone lost a record or two during a breakup? I know I have: My vinyl copy of "Tumbleweed Connection" is still missing.
LISTEN NOW:
The Music...
I create is reflective of many diverse influences. Of course, my main influence will always be the Beatles and the music of the British Invasion because that's what made me want to be a rock musician.
If I had to pick one unifying theme in most of the singles I've released, it has to be love -- all kinds of love. I'm talking not only about the love between two people, but the power of love to change the world.
Right now we are...
I'm in transition right now. We have the material in the can that has to get a final mix and mastering. I'm going to start working with a different producer at a new studio. I expect the new tunes will be stripped down and less "produced" -- a return to the good old days of recording.
Meet the Artist...
Dave Molter is an accomplished veteran of the Pittsburgh, Midwest and East Coast music scenes since 1965, Dave counts The Beatles as his primary influence. "Foolish Heart," Dave's debut EP, has produced four No. 1 single since its release in September 2019. Dave's latest single, "Fading Away" is seeing Top 10 placement on several indie radio stations worldwide. .Dave's debut single, "Mid-Century Man" has occupied a spot in the ZTR.FM (Fort Worth, Texas) Top 10 listener requests for 53 consecutive weeks, since Memorial Day 2019. Dave is a finalist in two categories for the 2020 International Singer-Songwriters Association Award; USA Male Rising Star and USA Male Single of the Year for "Oh Woman, Don't you Cry."
The songs on "Foolish Heart" are an eclectic mix of styles reflecting the varied influences Dave listened to while growing up in the Sixties as well as the influences of world music, reggae, prog rock, psychedelia, Phil Spector, Brian Wilson, Peter Gabriel, and many others.
Recorded in Pittsburgh, PA, "Foolish Heart" was produced and engineered by multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Buddy Hall. The title song features outstanding guitar work by Steve Dudas, who played with Ringo Starr and The Roundheads for more than a decade and continues to record and write with the former Beatle.
Dave views "Foolish Heart" and his next project, an EP due out in late summer 2020. as vehicles to spread a positive message about the power of love in today's world. The songs have the unifying theme of love -- as Dave sings in "Mid-Century Man" -- "an emotion we don't have enough of."
Dave says, "It's all in there: first love; love lost; love squandered; love regained; stupid love; funny love; love unrequited; love that makes you want to scream from the rooftops. Love that makes you kick furniture. I mean ... doesn't everyone?
"John Lennon said it best in 1968: 'All you need is love.' I still believe it."

Behind The Music with Dave Molter on Oh Woman, Don't You Cry
Finishing off a terrific year, Dave Molter chats with host Jacqueline Jax about the process of making music you are proud of. He also shared his experience with Reggae working with a producer you can trust and being able to step outside of your comfort zone. A perspective of the music business from a 20 year music veteran who writes music he loves that is inspired by his roots.
LISTEN TO THE SHOW NOW PLAYING:
Band Name: Dave Molter
Song name: Oh Woman, Don't You Cry
Music Genre:: Reggae/Rock
I live in... : Pittsburgh, PA
Link to play:: https://open.spotify.com/track/5k4e5hfZVDoZVRL3PaFXmd
Oh Woman is sung by a man experiencing something I think most men have: seeing a woman he admires who is sad because she is being misused/ignored/played by a guy who just doesn't care. Our protagonist wants to tell he that she'd be better of with him than with the guy she's with. I know I've been there.
My music is a reflection of every influence I've had in my life, musical or otherwise. When you look at my songs overall, you'll see there's a common stream of love running through them. It can be old fashioned romantic love, infatuation, crazy love, or even love for you fellow man. I think we need more love and that love can change the world. It's an old sentiment, but one that rings true.
Oh Woman is a departure from what I've released previously, being that it has a reggae feel. I've released modern rock, Sixties rock and psychedelic rock. To my great pleasure, all have been received well by listeners and deejays. The sings tarted life long ago as a rocker, but after it sat for many years I thought it would work better with a reggae feel. After I changed the feel, the lyrics didn't fit, so I wrote new ones. My producer, Buddy Hall, and I played and sang everything on this song, although other musicians appear on my EP. Buddy is an old friend with nearly identical musical taste. We think alike, and his direction and production are never wrong. He's also a great songwriter, singer and guitarist.
What most inspires you? I've been driven by music all my life, although I've sidetracked into "real world" jobs several times. Music is something that has to come out, even though you can successfully suppress the urge for brief periods. Any artist will tell you that they are driven to create, whether it's music, painting, writing, sewing or any other activity that requires vision and conceptualization. Creating something from start to finish and finding out that people like it is a thrill like no other. I'm primarily a bass player, but I also play brass instruments, some guitar and keyboards. But I'm luck to have sense of chord structure and melody and arrangement --even if I can't play part, I know enough musically to describe what I want to someone who can play it.
The Biz… The music business today is wide open to anyone with access to use recording software and willingness to learn how to use it well. You still need talent, but the internet allows you to reach listeners around the world from your bedroom studio.. That's an amazing and wonderful thing.

FEATURED ARTISTS:
Artist: Beautiful Things New Release: Hey Hey Hey (Electric Mix) Genre: Alternative Rock Sounds like: Garbage, Placebo, Curve Located in: Los Angeles, CA
Our band creates ethereal pop-rock with deeply personal lyrics. I wrote this song about my experiences with the music industry, looking back to a time when I was much younger and more trusting. I let people guide me and represent me who didn’t have my best interests at heart – only their own. I learned so much from these experiences about human nature which ultimately strengthened me and made me a smarter, wiser person.
I wanted this song to be empowering, hence the lyric “I won’t be a victim, no never again.” I’ve since chosen the people I surround myself within all areas of my life very carefully and have learned to trust my intuition. It’s made all the difference. Our new Dream World (Revisited) EP is made up of re-imagined songs from the first Beautiful Things album released 10 years ago, called just Dream World. We are working on a new single and will be making a video to promote it.

Artist: Dream Eternal Bliss
New Release: Circling
Genre: alternative rock
Sounds like: Berlin, The Cardigans, Garbage, Duran Duran
Located in: Franklin Lakes, NJ
This song is a moody ballad about your life being stuck in a holding pattern. Challenges we face tend to provide great songwriting material when you want to craft truly personal and heartfelt lyrics. If you’ve ever felt like time is passing you by and you’re sort of immobilized by your situation, powerless to take control and make a change, whether it’s a relationship or work or something else, that’s exactly where “Circling" came from. I find that the happiest times in my life are the most challenging times in which to write personal lyrics.
This song encapsulates a variety of musical influences. It starts with a synth-meets-U2 vibe over some electronic percussion that evolves into something dark and somber, and then in the second half, big drums and heavy guitar kick in. Right now we are shooting a video for this song!

Artist: Ugly Melon
New Release:  Rainbow in the Dark
Genre: Hard rock / Metal /Rock /
Sounds like: Black Sabbath / Disturbed / Shinedown
Located in: Toronto Ontario Canada
Ugly Melon comes from an era of classic hard rock from the 70s Black Sabbath to today modern edge of Disturbed. 'Rainbow in the dark' is a song written by Ronnie James Dio back in 1983 from the Holy Diver album, the Original song was an up yet simple song.  We put our Ugly Melon twist to it and made the song a more Modern ballad anthem.  The feeling of being alone and rejected but you are really a rainbow in the dark. When doing such an epic song like this that was a huge hit for Dio, you've got to make sure you don't butcher the song.  Our new album 'Just a Man' is a piece of work we are proud of and love hearing it every time.
Ugly Melon will be releasing a video soon probably on Halloween song called 'If You're Wrong'. A song about questioning and challenging religious beliefs and to be open-minded to others beliefs.

New Release: VICE
Genre: Alternative, Indie-Rock, Post-hardcore
Sounds like: : Best Coast, Pvris, No Doubt, Bloxx, Wavves, Foo Fighters, Paramore
Located in: Plymouth, Massachusetts United States of America
This song is a nice Blending of Beautiful vocal melodies with a Lead bass, loud drums, and powerful catchy guitars. This song, in particular, has a post-hardcore, chill feel. It's about waiting for the right person to come along, and all of the struggles, and heartache that comes before it. This release is important to our music direction because it shows you a foreshadowing of what's to come on our Full Length. But without giving you too many details. We can be poppy and peppy. We can be dark, we can have a feeling like you're relaxing on a beach, we can also add a sense of classical. As of now we're finishing up and putting our final tweaks onto our first Full-Length album. Next, we will be working on a music video for our next single.

'Now you see' is not just a song about a breakup or losing someone you love, it's a song about realizing your self-value after it's over. The song showcases our songwriting and it is one of our favorite songs to perform. With many of the yester-year's 80's and 90's rock bands on tour today and all of the tribute bands going over like Blockbusters, it's the perfect time to catch a NewClue.
Right now with all the mania alive towards classic rock bands and the Tribute bands on the circuit, we are creating a Godsmack tribute band. Of course, NewClue will always be the opening act!

Artist: David Bucci
New Release: Dangerous
Genre: Indie Alternative Rock
Sounds like: Bon Jovi, Chris Stapleton, Bryan Adams, Ritchie Kotzen, Goo Goo Dolls, Keith Urban
Located in: Channel Islands, Ca
When asked to describe his new release in a few words, David Bucci said, "Dirty boots, blue-collar, indie alternative rock music. Dangerous, off the new album, Country Club." 'Dangerous' has a heavy acoustic guitar and drum-driven influence with electric guitar layers and soling over it along with my lead vocals and backup harmonies by Robert Cross. The message behind ‘Dangerous’ is a sort of realistic caution about life, that we can be derailed very easily and things can spiral quickly. We need to take care of ourselves and don’t put ourselves in bad positions and places.
Right now we are preparing for the album's release, planning a new music video. Tour, not yet, local clubs and bars at the moment, but who knows, arenas and stadiums may be right around the corner.

A symphonic blend of Eastern, Classical and Metal to conjure images of the mystical Orient. Orchestration meets heavy guitars to tell the Djinn's tale. This song flowed from beginning to end in the writing and recording process, and I found myself caught up in the story as I went. Sometimes you write the song, and sometimes the song writes you. New Release: Tell Me That You Love Me
Genre: Rock
Sounds like: Beatles, Byrds, Searchers
Located in: Pittsburgh, PA USA
An accomplished veteran of the East Coast and Midwest music scene, Dave Molter counts the Beatles as his primary Influence. His latest single "Tell Me That You Love Me" is a tribute to the Fab Four and the British Invasion era, when getting the attention of someone you loved was the moving force for young people. It has Beatlesque harmonies and tone as well as the 12-string jangle of the Beatles, Byrds, Holliea, and Searchers. It's a happy song! "Tell Me That You Love Me is one of five songs on my debut EP, "Foolish Heart." Right now I'm excited to continue working on a full CD, which we hope will be available in early 2020.

Artist: Collins & Streiss
New Release: Freedom's Captive
Genre: Rock, Commercial Rock, Indie Rock, Alternative Rock
Located in: Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada
"Freedom's Captive" is about our growing addiction to our devices, whether it's cell phones, computers, tablets, social media and so on, and this obsession and need for acquiring followers and likes in today's web of virtual existence. It's a compounding obsession in a lot of cases where we have all this freedom and ability to exist and do what we want virtually now, but at the same time are becoming captives to it! This song involves a few other players and has more of an overall band feel to it. The song is upbeat, edgy and energetic and full of catchy melodies and hooks which is common in our music. It's derivative of our rock roots which has a broad range of artists and rich heritage.

Dave Molter pays tribute to the Fab Four with his single 'Tell Me That You Love Me'
Artist: Dave Molter
The music…
"Tell Me That You Love Me is one of five songs on my debut EP, "Foolish Heart." I grew up in the Sixties, and I and my producer, Buddy Hall are two sides of the same coin. We love the sound of British Invasion bands, but our influences run far beyond, to psychedelia, world music, Brian Wilson, Phil Spector, and Peter Gabriel. Although I'm often asked who I sound like, the only real answer I can come up with is, "I sound like me!" My influences are apparent, but my music is my own.
I do this because...
Music gives me a feeling unlike any other. It's thrilling, exhilarating and crazy all at once, I write songs and play because it offers expression that I can't get in any other medium. I'm also a writer of humor, but even though I've won awards for writing and get satisfaction making people laugh, my biggest thrill was to see my song Foolish Heart at #1 on the Big Indie Giant Top 10 in early September. It was better than sex -- and I've had some pretty damn good sex!
Right now we are...
I'm excited to continue working on a full CD, which we hope will be available in early 2020. My EP was just a sample. The CD, to be called "Mid-Century Man," will have some of the same genres represented, but we'll also go off on tangents to place not seen on the Ep.

FEATURING:
Artist: Sir London
New Release: Mirror2020
Genre: Hip Hop
Located in:  London
I would describe my music as the ‘golden era’ hip hop meets new school hip hop; I pride myself on lyrics and bars but then again, great music to me isn’t about being the most technically gifted, it’s about a feeling.
I came up mostly listening to the likes of Biggie, Lox, Hov, Nas, Dipset, 50 Cent, State Property, Papoose, Ali Vegas, Kool G Rap, Mobb Deep, Cormega, Foxy, Flip Mode, Saigon, CNN, Nature, Fabolous so you will always hear those influences in my music.
It’s different times though, so I like to make sure I’m in tune with what’s going on out there now. I'll come with different flows depending on where the beat takes me but I’m always gonna give you London at the end of the day. Every track I do, I mean it so I’m different from a lot of artists that record to put out lots of music for the sake of it.
As far as this new track – ‘Mirror2020’, it’s more of a commercial joint. The instrumental by one of my favorite producers at the minute – Jaywan Inc and it’s kinda dark and melodic, almost trance-like/hypnotizing but then it’s also got a nice bounce to it cos of the bass. As a matter of fact, on my first mixtape – Hacking 4 Beats, I did a freestyle track called Reflective King.
 Right now we are...
It's all Mirror2020 right now, and I'm putting 100% of my energy into this at the minute - so we'll see what's next. I've got another few joints in the clip, but Mirror2020 is the motive right now.

Artist: d'Z (dee zee)
New Release: Conviction (ft Freddi Lubitz)
Genre: Melodic Groove Jazz-Funk
Sounds like: : Steely Dan, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Earth, Wind & Fire, Gino Vannelli, Incognito, Tower of Power
Located in: : Arnhem, Gelderland, The Netherlands
Conviction is the first single of d'Z's debut EP CONNECTED and is about the thoughts we can have to limit ourselves. d'Z states that the quality of life depends on our convictions. What do we believe? Do we choose to live our lives based on fear or love? Scarcity or abundance? Although the song may have some critical remarks, it's also a feel-good tune, which leaves a smile on your face. Conviction, with vocalist Freddi Lubitz, reached #1 on the Independent Jazz Juice Radio Charts for a few weeks. The music of d'Z stands out when it comes to horn arrangements, a tight rhythm section, real-life musicians playing real instruments, high-quality recordings, and positive energy.
d'Z is the artist name of Dutch drummer, composer, producer Hans-Peter de Zeeuw. Being influenced for many years by many styles and genres such as Gino Vannelli, Steely Dan, Incognito, Tower of Power, d’Z’s musical heart landed on the shores of Groove-Jazz City. In 2018, he decided to make a record by choosing original music to make his entry into the music industry. All tunes from his debut album have different vocalists (Katie Léone -Incognito, The Brand New Heavies), 2 times Grammy Nominee Sandra St. Victor -Chaka Khan, Prince, The Family Stand, among others) which gives the music a wide variety to listen to. Since the release, many radio stations around the globe (UK, US, Australia, South-Africa) play his music regularly on their shows.
Music is my life and passion. I always knew one day I would become a professional drummer and composer. I'm happy to say that up till now, that is the case. I feel fortunate to share my music with the world. I'm convinced music can heal. So if I can make a difference, even if it's just a tiny one, I'm satisfied.
Right now, besides being a busy drum teacher, a freelance drummer, and composer for clients who want music for their video advertising, d'Z is prepping for recording new material. It is intended to head to the recording studio in 2020 and release original songs sung by a variety of fantastic vocalists.

Artist: Labán
New Release: Acércate
Genre: Pop, singer-songwriter
Located in: : Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico
Acércate is a song about an intense but short relationship that left the artist asking for more. It is the sweetness of pain. It is part of the upcoming album Todos Somos Dueños de Aquí.
The principle of respect for human life is part of the album’s concept and a central idea. Therefore, each of the songs is associated with a vital part of the human body. The function of each part is related to the song’s intention. This is the fourth single from the album.
Musically, it leans towards Jazz, Pop, RnB, Funk, and Rock. The lyrical content goes from protest against corruption, impunity, extreme income inequality and violence to frustration and existential crisis to love relationships and friendship.
A new trumpet funky tune, "Feel the Distance" will be the fifth single and it will come shortly after this one. We have a short but amazingly cool tour in certain cities of Mexico and the US will be announced after the release of the album, soon.

Artist: Chris Barclay
New Release: New York (I'm On Fire)
Genre: Rock, Metal, Guitar Shred
Located in: : Auckland, New Zealand Technique wise I am influenced mostly by alternate pickers like Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Morse, and John Petrucci. Style wise today I enjoy the use of Modal approaches like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani with Neo-Classical touches here and there.
www.chrisbarclay.net
I am a guitarist in the vein of Steve Van, Joe Satriani, Richie Kotzen, and Yngwie Malmsteen. My heroes are all highly skilled on their instruments. My music is made up of both song and instrumental music-based Progressive, Rock, Metal, NeoClassical Country Rock and Pop.
I have immersed myself in the guitar technique and I strive to cater to audiences who appreciate that same world. We are the guitar players, the musicians, the rockers and rock anthem lovers.
New York (I'm On Fire) is a little departure from my other releases. It is a song written when I first visited New York City. I was blown away by the energy of the city and it seemed that it was indeed the center of the universe. NYC seemed to me to be the ultimate metaphor for success, chasing dreams and where anything seems possible. This is what the song is about.
