what the Adult version of Scooby gang characters should be. or at least in my mind
After watching ten minutes of the Velma Show, and Being obsessed with reading how truly Awful it is,
Don’t Hate watch this garbage! I have already seen articles about it getting a second season! Save us. by not watching it. Become a pirate lol
But Hearing how Awful Mindy has ruined our favorite Gang. you know what! I’m gonna Fix what a “modern” version of each character should be/make them mature. because honestly I’m annoyed at how dirty Mindy did the scooby gang
Velma
Tumblr media
Since this show is the reason we are even thinking about them as “adults”
Honestly i see her still being a Brilliant nerd, who is Kind but incredibly Quite and keeps her head stucks in books. she has a problem with “speaking out” So she’s painfully quite. but when a mystery is to be solved she opens up. and it would of been incredible to See her Struggling with her sexuality ( i saw the gif of her and Daphane) but It would of been nice to see Like her falling for Shaggy and then Struggling to be sexually attracted to Becka.. a students who is trouble and makes her flustered and then Shaggy would have to be the one to end it saying he wasn’t the Right person for her. and helps his pal Push to the realizations She’s Gay. Which would of helped bonded them closer as friends. and she has a Strange fetish for Anime lol
Shaggy
Tumblr media
okay, this is what I see. Shaggy anxiety about ghosts is Amped up! he’s Scared of anxious about EVERYTHING! Which Leads him to take Pot to “settle the nerves. And once he has he’s nerves under control that Guy is Bonking Every girl left and right. until he’s Best friend Dave is murdered and the pot doesn’t help with the fright of Ghosts. but he gets support from his New friends. /long-time crush Velma (I KNOW SHE IS GAY! BUT I’VE SHIPPED THEM FOR A LONG TIME! LOL) And once the mystery is solved. he doesn’t want to go back to Bonking the entire school or being the local Drug dealer. because in my mind he needs to get alot of money to keep up his habit. so he becomes Pot dealer .  (he’s named does have Shag in it) so he then gets a dog.. named Scooby Doo.
Daphne
okay, I see her being an influencer, Stuck up, Way too addicted to her phone and losing grips of reality, and is the most popular girl in the school. Everyone wants to be her, befriend her, And have a sexy time with her. Daphne is Rude because in her mind the WORLD revolves around Her! Until her Cousin Dave Is killed and Shaggy, Velma, and Fred bring her back to Earth. I see her and Fred having a Fling one summer. but then afterward Hate each other until they become friends and they start dating. Highly jealous, use to see Shaggy regularly  to help her “destress” incredible Rich. between her parents and all the money she makes off of Sock tok (A Rip off version of Tik tok lol)
Fred
The most popular guy in school comes from a working-class family, he is on the football team to make his dad happy who is an “Alpha male” and turns down all of Fred’s interests. like Cheerleading, Knitting, and baking. Due to Hiding who he turly is. Fred is Angry and lashes out. not wanting to have anything to do with he mystery until he’s girlfriend. Marry Joe dies. (second murder) and he is forced to join Daphane, Shaggy and Velma. and once with him and seeing How Shaggy also Enjoys Baking they bond over that. and they Show two men enjoying things. that are mostly aimed at girls (they at one point always go for Medi pedies’ at least once a month) and Fred is a pure example that Men can be tough, and fine with their own sexuality's and like things that aren’t “meant” for them. Also. he has a fetish for Anime which he and Velma will spend Hours. watching. and will have fun mutually rubbing one off together. Fred use to go to Shaggy for weed.
Scooby Doo!
I Want NOTHING “muture” or creepy to change about my dog Scooby! I want them all to have messed up lives. EVERY TIME SCOOBY IS ON SCREEN. THEY ARE ON THEIR BEST BEHAVIOUR AND HE’S A GOOD BOY!
IN MY MIND THEY ARE 18! SINCE THIS IS “ADULT VERISON” AND THEY ARE OTHER JUST OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL OR SENIOR YEAR! NOT FUCKING 15! AND SHOWING THEM  COMPLETELY NAKED WITHIN THE FIRST 10 MINUTES OF THE SHOW!

Note
Just saw HBO’s Velma .
I think THE worst thing about it is all the forced meta comedy. Meta comedy can be only so funny after a while.
I agree, the comedy isn't any good. But I think that the worst bit is what they did to the characters. Mystery Inc is a group of friends who might as well be family.
They turned Fred, who is essentially the dad friend of the group, into a jerk.
They turned Daphne into an mean girl airhead. She isn't, she's clever, quick, and sweet.
They turned Shaggy into Norville the incel, and... No, just no.
Velma doesn't exist, she is Mindy Kaling.
And Scooby doesn't exist, because making a scooby show without scooby is a briliant idea, very smart 10/10 braincells.
I feel like, if you wanted to make an adult scooby doo show, you can go one of two routes.
Either go the live action movies route, specifically the 2002 one, and just make it a bit more explicit. Because that adaptation didn't hate Scooby fans and was still goofy.
Or you go Mystery Incorported route, and again, just amp up the darkness but keep the goofy lightheartedness.
The problem is how needlessly cinical the show is, it hates it's audience, it hates Scooby Doo, and the characters can barely be recognized as their personalities have been decimated. I feel like an adult Scooby show has potential as an idea, but it was so poorly executed here.
Conclusion, throw the whole show away. And Mindy Kaling I am going to rube goldberg machine your house to teach you to not hurt Fred anymore.

Daphne & Velma
Good Lord! Daphne & Velma is one of the worst things I've ever seen! I didn't even know straight to video was still a thing?
Daphne & Velma is a straight to video film, I thought that the rise of crappy Netflix movies had killed the genre; but I guess this film was too bad even for streaming! It says a lot that the film was shot in just 17 days. Some films use a limited schedule to their advantage and create a sense of energy because of it – Promising Young Woman is an excellent example. In the case of Daphne & Velma…

The Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! presentation will be the first-ever Con appearance featuring all four core voices of Mystery Inc. together on the same panel: Frank Welker (Fred & Scooby-Doo), Grey Griffin (Daphne), Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) and Kate Micucci (Velma). All three panels will be live-streamed through NYCC’s partnership with YouTube, and specific panel links will be found via the NYCC website at www.newyorkcomiccon.com.
Here’s a breakdown of the panels – and confirmed talent – appearing at New York Comic Con:
Saturday, October 10 1:15pm PT/4:15pm ET – BATMAN: DEATH IN THE FAMILY – AN INTERACTIVE TALE Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s unveils its first-ever interactive film presentation with Batman: Death in the Family in a fascinating New York Comic Con panel. As the anchor of an anthology of 2019-2020 animated shorts, Batman: Death in the Family is based on the 1988 landmark DC event where fans voted by telephone to determine the story’s ending, and is organically grown out of the 2010 DC Universe Movie, Batman: Under the Red Hood. In this new version, the animated short is an interactive storytelling presentation with numerous “branches,” allowing the viewer multiple options from which to choose and alter the path of the core characters (Batman, Robin, Joker, Red Hood and more). Join producer/director/writer Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Young Justice), actors Bruce Greenwood (The Resident, Star Trek, iRobot), Vincent Martella (Phineas and Ferb, Everybody Hates Chris) and Zehra Fazal (Young Justice), and moderator Tiffany Smith (DC Daily) for an in-depth panel discussion about this innovative film. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, DC Showcase – Batman: Death in the Family arrives from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-ray TM Combo Pack and Digital starting October 13.
Sunday, October 11 8:40am PT/11:40am ET – HAPPY HALLOWEEN, SCOOBY-DOO! Be part of the first-ever convention panel to feature the four core voices of the Scooby-Doo franchise as they chat about their all-new film, Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! – and then show you the first eight minutes of the movie! Scooby-Doo and Shaggy’s favorite holiday is upon us! With fake monsters and candy galore, Halloween is heaven for these hungry foodies going door-to-door. But this year, their sweet holiday turns sour when the neighborhood pumpkin patch is infected by toxic ooze, creating high-flying jack-o-lanterns, and a king-sized pumpkin leader squashing everything in its path. It’s up to Scooby-Doo and the gang as they team up with their pals, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark and Bill Nye the Science Guy, to solve this mystery of gigantic proportions and save Crystal Cove! Enjoy a fun panel discussion amongst voiceover legend Frank Welker (The Transformers), in his 50th year voicing Fred Jones and 18 th year voicing Scooby-Doo; Grey Griffin (DC Super Hero Girls films) in her 20 th year as Daphne Blake; Matthew Lillard (Twin Peaks, Bosch, Good Girls) celebrating his 18 th year as Shaggy Rogers; Kate Micucci (Unikitty!) in her fifth year as Velma Dinkley; Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), director/producer/writer Maxwell Atoms (Fish Hooks, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy) and moderator Damian Holbrook (TV Guide Magazine senior writer). Then stay for a special sneak peek at the first eight minutes of the film. Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! arrives on DVD and Digital HD starting October 6.
Sunday, October 11 9:30am PT/12:30pm ET – THE FLINTSTONES TAKE NEW YORK! Ship Asks Poly Mystery Inc.
roguecs17
replied to your post
“SEND ME A SHIP and I’ll tell you:”
Ot4 Mystery Inc.
Listen, this is some galaxy brain shit right here. I fucking love the idea of Poly Mystery Inc. I feel like it’s most people’s first poly ship, even if they didn’t know what that was at the time. Anyways, here we go!
Who said “I love you” first
Fred. He wasn’t the first to fall in love, but he was the first to say it. He’s a take charge kind of guy, he’s not going to leave his feelings unaddressed.
Also he didn’t say it to a specific person. The gang was driving to another haunted location and were having fun, talking and laughing. And he just said “I love you guys,” and he meant it.
Who would have the other’s picture as their phone background
Each of them has a different combo of the others as their background. Velma has a picture of the other three all asleep. They had just solved a mystery and she was still to amped to fall asleep quickly, so the rest had fallen asleep in a massive cuddle pile. Then Scooby fell asleep spread across all three of them.
Daphne has a picture of Velma and Fred with their heads together looking at some clues. In the background Shaggy is screaming and pointing over her head. The ghost of the day was right behind her when she took the picture, but it’s still one of her fav pics.
Fred has a picture of them have they busted the bad guy. One of the cops took the picture. All four of them are posing around the villain of the hour, his mask in Velma’s hand. But none of them were looking at him or the camera. They were all looking at each other, love in their eyes.
Shaggy’s looks like it could be an instagram shot of a meal he had prepared (right before Scooby ate it) but you can see all around the table are the rest of his lovers. Each with a meal that is uniquely them. All of them just relaxing and having a fun time, far from any ghosts.
Who leaves notes written in fog on the bathroom mirror
None. Too many times that’s happened on the mysteries they are solving. Scooby and Shaggy will freak out if it happens. Velma will investigate. Fred and Daphne will get annoyed. It’s not as romantic when it’s a constant part of their day job.
Who buys the other cheesy gifts
Shaggy. It’s part of why he loves traveling with them all so much. At each new location he buys some cheap thing. The van is constantly full of them. Each of the others have one that is super special to them.
Who initiated the first kiss
In a poly relationship I feel like this is a much more interesting question.
Velma was the one who initiated her first kiss with each of the others. Daphne first, then Fred, then Shaggy. She’s not always the most connected with feelings. But she knows the evidence. and she knew she wanted to kiss them. So during the course of one mystery she sought them each out to kiss them. Shaggy was last because she wasn’t sure if he liked getting kisses.
Fred initiated with Daphne and was kissed first by Shaggy. He thought he was hetero for a while, and also thought he and Daphne were monogamous. He realized neither were true when Shaggy kissed him.
Daphne kissed Shaggy first. She had been kissed by Fred and Velma and she was going to make sure she kissed every one she loved.
Shaggy is generally not huge on kissing in general, but he is huge on free love and wanted to make sure the other knew he loved them. He’s the one who kisses the least after the first kisses.
Who kisses the other awake in the morning
Scooby! :) They are dog kisses but kisses all the same.
Who starts tickle fights
Shaggy and Fred. The girls can get a little intense with their mystery solving (and depression), so the boys try to help them relax. Get them laughing. Velma will try to remain serious if she was in the middle of something, but Daphne will tickle back with a vengeance.
Who asks who if they can join the other in the shower
(How old are they in canon? Like are they teenagers?) If they are not teenagers then it’s Daphne and Shaggy. They love being in the shower in general and with their partners in particular. It became such a habit that Fred had to put a ban on it at certain locations. They would use up all the hot water, or it would end up with the whole gang trying to shower together.
Who surprises the other in the middle of the day at work with lunch
Shaggy. Was there ever a doubt here? Food is his life.
Who was nervous and shy on the first date
Velma. some of her previous relationships had ended sourly, and she really loved the rest of the gang. She didn’t want this relationship to end badly as well. And she really didn’t want to end her the mystery solving. Daphne was the next most nervous. She also didn’t want the relationship to change or grow awkward. They both felt much better after the first few dates.
Who kills/takes out the spiders
Daphne kills them. Velma captures them and either studies them or releases them outside. Shaggy does not like spiders. and Fred is largely indifferent.
Who loudly proclaims their love when they’re drunk
Are you kidding? They can’t go out and drink in public, because it just becomes a competition. Who can proclaim their love the loudest. Velma’s caused explosions before to proclaim her love. Daphne has stolen the sound equipment from one of the hauntings to shout her love. They have too much chaotic energy when all together and all drunk.
@roguecs17 If you have more questions or prompts for the OT4 of Mystery Inc, please send them my way. I want to talk more about them and how much they love each other.
