God people are so annoying about Midsommar and Gone Girl. If I have to listen to decades of men talk about walter white and michael corleone and patrick bateman and travis bickle and fight club and etc etc etc then you can stfu and let me enjoy watching women be morally gray or even repugnant.
Sooooo tired of people needing to be like "Pshaw, if you think Dani was right then you'd be easy to indoctrinate into a cult!" Bro shut up. It's a movie. Believe it or not what I think was correct to have happen in a movie is not always what I think would be morally correct in real life. If Amy Dunne were real then I would want her in prison but she's not. She's a fucking awesome female character to have in a blockbuster movie and I love her. There's no cognitive dissonance there because I'm capable of engaging with stories above a toddler level of understanding.
We have decades of male characters being complex bastards. We have decades of young men hanging up posters of Scarface and Pulp Fiction. And yet we finally get a couple notable female equivalents (in movies that are actually hugely successful) and all you guys want to do is rip their teeth out and make sure everyone knows you're Too Smart and Morally Pure to Enjoy Them. Female characters who act like male anti-heroes get enough shit from mainstream audiences, I don't need it from the gay weirdos on tumblr too.
If you cannot sit there and appreciate the fact that we now have a couple more iconic films featuring morally complex female characters then please just stop talking about these characters because you are missing decades of context for them and you're driving me up a goddam wall.

well here is an account of my christmas date with dani! as well as a semi-date we had afterwards
ok soooooo last time i left off at christmas eve. well i saw dani again on christmas day. so.........it was literally the best christmas of my LIFE omg it was so iconic
my family left to go to my aunts house so i was home alone. so dani came over in the afternoon and left around 7 or 8. he wore his comfy pants which are these REALLY soft sweatpants! and we stayed in bed and cuddled soooooo much omg. i also gave him the christmas card and a small gift (a mudkip figurine ive had since i was little since mudkip is his favorite pokemon)
we were looking for a movie to watch on netflix and he chose pulp fiction since i havent seen it before. i didnt know wtf was going on but it was cute i guess! but i didnt really pay much attention to the movie. we cuddled a lot and i really loved it bc hes sooooo soft and hes warm too hes like a heater i love it
i really like being with him like he is such a good cuddler and hes so affectionate like hes just perfect! and he also took a picture of us together and put it on his snapchat AND his instagram like omg.....its so nice being shown off like this
as for the sexual stuff......omg. he sucked my dick and he was soooooo good at it like probably the best ive ever had! i usually dont care for getting my dick sucked very much but he did it really well! and THEN...........i face fucked him! and omg that was.......SOMETHING. like it felt so good it was SO intense like he was laying down and i was over him, kind of in a 69 position but i didnt suck his that much. i was just like fucking his mouth and it felt SOOOOOOOOOOO good omg it was so intense like i was whimpering bc it felt so good i could barely take it. probably the most stimulation my dick has ever gotten from another person
and then.....i ate his ass! now THAT was an EXPERIENCE OMG.......first of all his ass is so nice. its thick and his hole is really pretty and hairy! so like he was laying on his back and he lifted his legs up so i could get at his ass and like....girl. honestly i transcended like it was so hot omfg....hes really sensitive there apparently? bc he was moaning and whimpering so much and it was so fucking hot like my dick was throbbing it was honestly the hottest situation ive ever been in. like i could go on and on forever about how amazing eating his ass was. like im still not over it it was so perfect and i cant believe im gonna get to do it again!!!
then it was time to cum so we were off next to each other. he came and it was fine, and then i came. and like recently when i orgasm with guys its weird bc it like....just streams out first and i dont fully feel the orgasm yet and then it hits me and it starts shooting out. so i was cumming and it was just the streaming out part and he was like “oh here it is!” or something bc he thought that was it so then when the shooting started he was taken aback and he was like “OH my god” and moved away a little it was so fucking funny omfg ive never had someone react to my orgasms that way but i couldnt stop laughing about it
then we ordered chinese food and we had that together and it was nice! i dont feel nervous about eating in front of him, which is weird bc i usually feel uncomfortable eating in front of people ive only met recently. but yeah the food was good and then we went back to watching the movie on my bed
then he had to leave so he left. so yeah, it was the best christmas ive ever had!!! and hopefully i have many more christmases to come with dani. i started crying after he left because i was so happy that i had him in my life lmao im so emotional! but im just really glad i met him
and then on wednesday i got to visit him at work! he works at a storage place. he bought a 3ds the day before but it didnt come with a charger so i went to gamestop beforehand and bought one for him. then i went to his work since he invited me to come visit. i gave him the charger and i hung out with him for like an hour and a half!
most of it was in the office. it was just him and his coworker joanna who is really funny and iconic! they were having lunch so i got to see him eat! hes really cute when he eats
and he looked soooooooooooooooo cute in his work clothes omg........he had this little zip up jacket w the store logo on it and he was wearing like chinos i think? and his ass looked SOOOOOO good in them omfg i wanted to eat it so bad.....and he was sitting at his desk and he was just so cute. at one point he got off the chair and kneeled on the floor bc he was checking the motem (?) thing for the computer and then instead of getting back on the chair he stayed kneeling on the floor and he was like drumming his hands on the table and he was just so cute omfg i was like ok im in love
then he showed me around! he walked me around the second floor so i saw all the storage units and stuff! it was so confusing it was like a maze but it was fun walking around with him! and we hugged and kissed in the elevator it was cute
then eventually it was time for me to leave so he walked me to my car and i left. so that was just a nice chance to see him! it was def way better than staying home so im glad i drove all the way out to visit him. i loved getting this little glimpse of what his daily life is like! it was super fun!
the next post will be our pokemon/cuddle date from the following friday which was also very very good!!

Tell me more about each of the movies except moonlight. Lol. I have rewatch that movie countless time, read any articles about it. Watch every interview and Diligently study about all the process behind making this incredible movie. I never actually pay any attention for documentary of a movie before. With this one, I did. Haha
Hey~ I’m assuming you want me to talk about the other films on my Feb & March film log? You’re making me do the work I’ve been trying to avoid lmao but since you took the time to send an ask, I’ll write more for you :)
Nobunaga Concerto: The Movie (dir. Hiroaki Matsuyama, 2016)
This is the movie finale to the Japanese drama Nobunaga Concerto. I don’t recommend watching the movie without watching the drama. If you’re interested in Japanese period dramas with comedy and heart, definitely give the drama and movie a watch. It’s about a high schooler who accidentally travels back in time to the Warring States period. He looks exactly like Oda Nobunaga, a clan leader and a famous figure in Japanese history. Through a series of events, he becomes the clan leader and has to navigate through samurai politics, war and culture.
The Love Witch (dir. Anna Biller, 2016)
This film is about a new witch who comes to town after killing her husband and being on the run. She desperately wants attention and love from men and seduces them with witchcraft. Love magic is tricky and her pursuits become stranger and stranger. The film has a 1960s aesthetic to it and it’s a tribute to the pulp fiction novels of the same period. There’s some commentary about the damaging effects of beauty culture and the expectations placed on women to please men and become objects of desire.
Black America Since MLK and Still I Rise (dir. Leslie Asako Gladsjo, Talleah Bridges MacMahon, Sabin Streeter and Leah Williams, 2016)
I thought this was a solid documentary series about African American history and culture in the second half of the 20th century to today. However, there could have been more about black women’s history and feminism. I also do not remember there being anything about LGBT black history which was shocking to me since black LGBT people, especially black trans folks, are a huge part of LGBT history of the time frame this documentary covers. If you want to learn more about black history, this could be a good starting point but it didn’t cover aspects of black history that should be covered more.
O.J. Made in America (dir. Ezra Edelman, 2016)
A doozy of a documentary my goodness. A 7-8 hour long film about O.J. Simpson’s life, his stardom, his downfall, the life of black people in America, police brutality, and how a case and verdict reflected race relations in America at the time. I thought it was extremely well done and riveting. I watched this a few days after Black in America Since MLK and I thought O.J. Made in America covered some events better. I highly recommend this film.
Dum Laga Ke Haisha (dir. Sharat Katariya, 2015)
Now this is a film I’m still processing. My sister showed this to me because I’m “into that fat positivity stuff” and… I don’t know. It’s about an insecure man child who’s pissed off that he has to marry a fat “arrogant” educated woman. And at the end, through trials and hijinks, they come to love and understand each other. I think I’m a little upset because my sister tried to sell this to me as something it’s not, a film that fits within my fat positivity ideology. Which it can’t, to an extent, because I’m not Indian and wasn’t raised in that culture. A short, cute watch if your sibling doesn’t hype it up as media you’re desperate to see, an awesome story about a fat woman.
Bienvenue Chez Les Ch’tis (dir. Dany Boon, 2008)
A problematic fave. This is a French comedy movie about a man who upsets his boss (the problematic part because he fakes a physical disability) and is sent from the south of France (beautiful beaches, “civilization”) to a certain province in the north of France (cold and deary, the title translates to ‘Welcome to the Sticks” so I think you have an idea of what this place is jokingly made out to be). My high school French teacher showed us this movie and 7 years later, I still find it hilarious and it’s my go to travel film. I’m not a fan of the comedy genre but I love this movie a lot. Give it a shot.
I hope these mini descriptions and reviews gave you the information you were looking for. Bolded titles represent films I especially recommend. Thanks for stopping by~

9 May
We are now less than 1,000 miles from Fatu Hiva, the most southerly (and easterly) island in the Marquesas. For the last couple of nights the sea has been calmer and the wind slightly more to the south so we have been able to continue sailing gently on, more or less towards our destintination. On Rapture, 8 - 9 knots feels like we are dawdling and we have to keep a close eye on the wind speed and angle, as well as the height and direction of the waves, to avoid losing momentum. This keeps us busy at night but did not stop last night being "Tarantino night" at the Rapture cinema, with showings of "Pulp Fiction" and "Django Unchained" for those who were not on watch.
I like the early morning watch the best. An hour or so of helming and stargazing, then the sky gradually lightens behind us and the sun comes up. If we are lucky, Dani emerges soon afterwards and the smell of bacon starts to waft up from below. A hearty breakfast, then it's time for a quick nap before it gets too hot below.
This morning we planned to raise the spinnaker in order to head a bit more downwind. However, on dragging the bag out of the sail locker, we discovered that it actually contained a gennaker (a sort of mega bulbous genoa made of light cloth). We raised it anyway but the wind was not strong enough for us to carry it on the course we wished so it was soon back in the bag again and the engine on.
We later came across a large white gooey mass floating in the ocean with what looked like vertebrae jutting out on top. An aborted whale foetus? An unfortunate alien visitor? Who knows?
Pina coladas on the afterdeck this evening, complete with paper parasol and Jamaican music, put Dani in the lead in the cocktail competition.
