DC x DP Prompt *10*
It had been a relative uneventful day in Gotham, the new Week just started and most of the big rouges were still in Arkham after the last big breakout. And even tho the nightly patrol wasn't done, Batman send most of his charges that were still somewhat injured home. He, Orphan and Robin would be able to handle the rest.
They had stopped some muggings and one break-in by the time patrol officially ended. His children made their way back to the manor on their bikes, while the Bat made one last round through the docks.
He had a feeling of foreboding, not necessarily a bad feeling, but he was cautious. Even if Cassandra and Damian weren't hurt that badly, he still wanted them home. He wasn't entirely sure why, but he didn't had much time to think it over.
A swirling green Portal opened in front of him and a figure started to emerge from it. Bruce got into a fighting stance, his eyes trained on the unknown.
The Portal vanished after a young man, almost still a boy, stepped out of it. He had white hair that seemed to sway as if he was under water. Green freckles glowed in the dark, just a little muted in contrast to the vibrant green eyes. The boy - because the longer Bruce looked, the younger the being seemed - floated a few inches in the air. In his hands he held what looked like a type of thermos.
"You are Batman, right?", his voice seemed to echo a bit, even in this open space. Bruce just gave a little nod, still in his fighting stance. Just because the other seemed young, didn't mean he wasn't dangerous.
"Good, good... ahem... So my name is Danny or Phantom or Danny Phantom and I know this might come a bit suddenly, but a friend of mine - well more like my mentor - said that I was on the way for the best possible timeline and I think he really needs someone like you - you know with all those contingency plans - and a different dimension than ours and he is already 3 years in the thermos, well minus the bit he was out for a moment where Clockwork sat his Bodytime a bit back, so that he can have a childhood again, but that was like five minutes max. so that doesn't really count, because ha was also in timeout, so for him it was more like a few seconds, but ahem, what I wanted to ask you Mr. Batman, sir... Would you take my evil self from a different timeline, so that he can have a better childhood and maybe be not evil anymore?", Danny rambled and Batman really wished in this moment to have any of his children here, just to make sure that he did indeed hear correctly.
Even if everything had came out in one breath, the things he could piece together didn't paint the best picture. But it seemed like his brooding had taken to long, because the child folded into himself and started do fidget.
"I understand that you don't want to, you don't know me or Dan or anything about us, but you seemed to be the one most capable of handling him and I looked through so many dimension in the hope to find a good place for him... I can understand why he is like he is, but I will never be able to talk sense into him. His actions are unforgivable, but his timeline doesn't exist anymore, the things he done never happened and he is alone in a dimension that would just remind him of everything that happened if he would life with us... But I can totally just look into some more dimension if you don't want to! It's not your problem and I shouldn't have bothered, sorry!" Phantom started to raise his hand and a green line became visible where his finger cut through the air. If Bruce didn't do anything the being would go with a child that needed his help.
"I want a list with all his abilitis, his weaknesses, his potential triggers, dietary needs, allergies, a way to contact you, your mentor and a third trusted person in case of an emergency and a weekly check in system from your side", Bruce knew his kids would make fun of him when he brought another child home, but someone said he was the best possible guardian for this boy, so he would take him. And if he felt pleased about Danny's surprised and relieved face, than no one needed to know.
"Of course! I think Clockwork gave me a folder with everything!", the boy exclaimed, before he led the riff he started to open close, just to open another one. He seemed to rummage in the small Portal, until he showed him a folder full of papers. This would take a while to go through, but at least the boy was prepared.

A Christmas Carol AU
Inspired by a prompt found in the @haunting-heroes-creative-games :) (i.e. back on my shit again)
When a 15 year old Jason, pissed at Bruce for taking Robin away from him, finds his birth certificate he realizes Catherine Todd is not his real mother.
Just as he resolves to go out and search for his birth mother, Jason finds himself accosted by three ghosts in his room, talking about A Christmas Carol of all things.
===
"So, what? We're gonna Christmas Carol him?"
Dan scoffs, crossing his bulky arms with an unimpressed look. "We hated that movie."
"I didn't." Dani chirps, disturbingly cheery, "I didn't see it!"
"We hate Christmas," Danny corrects, "But the movie was alright, and the logic is sound."
"I don't hate Christmas," Dani once again interjects cheerily, "I've never participated!"
"Sound my ass," Dan growls over her, throwing his hands up. "We don't even know this guy!"
"Minor detail." Danny insists, "Tuck can look him up."
"He's a fucking Bat, Danny." Dan scrunches up his face, pinching the bridge of his nose just like Vlad does when he's disgruntled with any of Dad's shenanigans.
"He's a Robin, actually." Dani pipes in, "And he's just a kid. How hard is it gonna be to pretend to be this kid's Ghosts?"
"You're a kid," Dan reminds her, crossing his arms, "And you didn't believe me when I told you sticking a fork in the outlet would shock you."
"I believed you," Dani sniffs haughtily, crossing her arms and pointing her nose up with a snooty voice, "The warning simply did not deter me from doing it anyway."
"We don't have to convince him we're his Ghosts, or even that we knew him before," Danny reasons, needling, "We just have to convince him that we're…"
He hums, pointing at Dani. "Past."
He points at himself, "Present."
He points at Dan, "Future."
Dani does a little cheer, arms up and twirling into the air before landing with her legs over Dan's shoulders, hands and head settling atop Dan's fiery, but harmless, hair. It flickers, before going limp into long white strands that Dani messes up by gently scrunching up the strands and running her fingers through them.
Dan lets her, huffing and looking weirdly like a downtrodden, wet cat. "Why am I future?"
"Because." Danny doesn't continue, because he knows it makes Dan annoyed. True to form, his scowl gets worse, like sucking on a lemon. They all know why anyway.
Dani grins, triumphant and knowing, letting her voice go real deep, "The future," she intones into Dan's hair, "is here."
"The future is now," Danny corrects her, but doesn't lose his smile, floating up to tuck a strand of her hair back behind her ear.
"The future is already here," Dan mumbles his correction, or is it a follow-up? "It's just not evenly distributed."
"How about you distribute some of those muscles, Gibson," Danny sighs, shaking his head "Waiting for puberty is such a drag, and we both know you didn't get the mass from Vlad's side of the family."
Dan makes a moue of disgust, but it serves him right. The consequences of his own actions, and whatnot. He looks up at Dani, who simply shrugs. "I think you'll do great." She leans down to give him two pats on the arm.
"So how's acting out A Christmas Carol gonna help us stop this Jason guy from blowing up?" Dani fiddles with Dan's hair, tongue poking out as she attempts a braid, "Will he even see us? Ghosts in this dimension taste funny."
"He'll be able to see us, it's magically rich enough for some ghosts to maintain a semblance of themselves," Danny explains for the third time. Dani and Dan hum at different pitches, and even though Danny is the common denominator he kind of hates that Vlad has more of a lasting impression on them. "The ectoplasm here is scarce and mostly corrupted, though, so it's rare."
"So there's lotsa bad ghosts here?" Dani eyes the messy braid she's made, proud, even as Dan's silky hair immediately causes it to fall apart, "Or 'mentally unsound' or whatever Frostbite called it."
"No," Dan grumbles, annoyed and indulging all at once, "Corruption begets ecto-rot, but the scarcity means they're not strong enough to actually retain their sense of self enough to rot."
"Shades," Danny explains when Dani looks even more confused, "There's lots of shades."
"Is this one of the Olympian dimensions?" Dani groans, flopping over Dan's shoulder as he sits down on the sofa, "I love Pandora and all, but if I see Zeus again I'm gonna lose it."
"It's one of the hero dimensions," Danny hums, taking over braiding Dan's hair the way Jazz made him when they were little, "There's a couple of Amazons walking about, but on the whole no Olympians."
"I don't know why he didn't just dump me in a Norse dimension." Dan leans back and closes his eyes to their ministrations. "Especially with my current occupation."
The three of them are sitting in Dan's apartment, a large loft studio located somewhere in the UK of the aforementioned hero-dimension. Alber-something, Danny can't remember. Doesn't need to, it being a different dimension from his anyway.
Dan doesn't have a lot of things: a sofa and TV, a bed in the corner, a decent but small kitchen. They're still trying to figure out decorations, but Dan on the whole is a minimalist so it's been slow going.
He's working as a bartender these nights, whiling away his odd existence now that his form has stabilized.
And wasn't that a trip? Learning that hey, adult lightning halfas shouldn't really be mixed with teenage ice halfas, actually!
Apparently, ectoplasm can become corrupted if you try to combine incompatible sources.
Apparently, side effects include (but are not limited to) unmitigated violence and a devastating need for vengeance.
Sound familiar?
"This dimension has a lot of time continuity errors," Danny reminds him, "Dropping you here gave the least amount of pushback."
"Yeah, yeah," Dan flaps a lazy hand, "Praise be the speedforce and flashpoints and whatnot."
"Plus," Dani adds softly, absent-minded as she watches Danny finish up the braid, "Lotsa heroes to help out if you relapse."
Dan heaves a slow, controlled sigh. Danny and Dani both pretend they don't notice.
"Is it bad?" Dan doesn't open his eyes, his voice is so low Danny can only hear him by virtue of his ghost powers, "Like me levels bad?"
"No." Danny shakes his head, leaning into his older self, his older brother of sorts, "He decapitated eight crime lords, killed a couple of assassins, maybe an innocent or two depending on your definition of things."
"Past tense?" Dan scrunches his nose. They all hate how confusing Time Shenanigans are.
"He's living as Red Hood, right this very moment."
"Red Hood?" Dani questions, "That his hero name?"
"Crime lord alias." Danny corrects her, "But he's more of a vigilante these days. Has a bat on his chest and everything."
"But it's bad enough to warrant a trip to the past." Dan points out, "Bad enough for us to try and persuade him. Does he relapse?"
"Not…exactly." Danny scrunches his face, not wanting to explain Clockwork's ambiguity.
Dani floats to spread over Danny and Dan's laps, sprawling out and purring like a cat. Self-soothing, though it's more for their benefit than hers.
"Like Dani said, there’re lots of heroes here, and he doesn't have powers." Danny continues, petting at Dani's soft hair, "The world doesn't end. He doesn't have the means to, even with the ecto-rot."
Danny pauses, and chooses his words deliberately and carefully. "And deep down, Jason Todd is a hero through and through. Relapse would be…difficult. His Obsession is similar to yours."
Dan lets that sit for a moment, but nods, Danny moving a little with the motion. The tension slowly bleeds out as they wait like that, enjoying each other's company.
"If the world doesn't end," Dani whispers, "Why is Clockwork sending all of us?"
Danny thinks on that, on his meeting with Clockwork. The Ancient's voice when he explained what would happen.
He thinks about Jason Todd, about Bruce Wayne, and Catherine, and Sheila. He thinks about Batman, and Robin.
He thinks about Dick Grayson and Tim Drake, about Damian Al Ghul, about Cassandra Cain, and all of Jason's Outlaws.
He thinks about a tattered uniform that stays up in a glass case for a long, long time.
Most of all, he thinks about Dan.
He thinks about regrets and one bad day away.
And then he stops thinking about it, because sometimes the past is the past, and other times, it's the future that never happens that haunts you instead.
"You know, Dani." He settles on, "I'm not sure. He probably has his reasons."
Dan leans heavier onto him, and they lean together like that, with Dani in their laps.
Ghosts of decisions made, unmade, and never to be.

Usually I'm a dead on main kinda person but I can't get this out of my mind
But I need a Danny x Bruce au of Yours, Mine & Ours
In short, it's about two people reuniting, falling in love again and marrying while their children of 8 and 10 (separately) do their best to break them up
Bruce has his whole flock of course
Whether Danny has Ellie, Dan, maybe other clones, children he picked up along the way is up for interpretation
I can see Ghost King Danny adopting ghost kids for sure and have them run around in his haunt in the Realms
Or instead he has Connor (cuz who can resist having an older Danny adopt this little guy) and throw Billy Batson in there too for fun. Cujo is there for sure
Perhaps Danny and Bruce aren't even married yet
Just lingering feelings that are obviously still strong
Either way, the kids are trying to break them or perhaps they're actively trying to get them together
The latter seems more likely. They just want their parents to settle down already and it's obviously up to them cuz just look at them dance around each other
Bat and phantom kids can't take this anymore
#it'd be a funny twist if Danny and Bruce knew this all along#and are just messing with the kids#dc x dp crossover#dc x dp#dp x dc#dpxdc#dc x dp prompt#dp x dc crossover#dcxdp#this has been stuck in my head for hrs#i need a fic of this#rambles#what is even Bruce and Danny's ship name??#spirit halloween

Alright new Jason Todd headcanons in a dpxdc setting:
Danny is a "liminal" ghost, rather than a "half" ghost. He's alive and dead at the same time. (He's like Jesus Christ (in the church denomination I grew up in), fully ghost and fully human.) Danny, in human form, can go through a ghost shield, because he IS a living human.
Jason, however, is a reanimated corpse. He isn't a ghost, wouldn't have a ghost core, etc, he has a normal human system that runs ON ectoplasm. Jason CANNOT go through a ghost shield, because he is always an ectoplasmic entity. Danny can go through the Fenton Ghost Catcher and be split into a ghost and a human; if Jason went through the ghost catcher, he would straight up die.
(For my purposes I'm gonna say that Jason became an ectoplasmic entity upon his resurrection, but wasn't very stable. Dunking in the Lazarus pit stabilized his system but also poisoned his ectoplasm.)
I do think that Jason could learn certain ghost abilities if he learned to harness his ectoplasm, especially if they detoxed him off the Lazarus waters. He's probably already enhancing his stealth and strength in ways he hasn't really noticed. I think he's held back by the amount of physical matter he's lugging around, so maybe he couldn't fly, but I'm imagining temporary invisibility, or intagibility of like, a limb at a time. Maybe he can't walk through walls, but in a fight he can dodge by instinctively making the targeted part of his body intangible.
#i saw someone call jason a 'revenant' in a fanfic once and that is juicy as hell so I'm stealing that- that's what he is in this au#Jason's ectoplasm does react to other ectoplasmic entities so they can sense eachother#but for ghosts he's fucking weird because he doesn't have a core for them to resonate with or w/e#danny would probably think that he's another halfa/liminal at first but the more time they spend together the more that doesn't add up#so I know that I'm trying to give Jason ghost powers but honestly this whole thing is kind of a bum deal for him#he gets all of a ghost's weaknesses and barely any of the benefits#honestly I'm conceptualizing this as more of a disability than a superpower#discovering that youre less alive than you thought you were and you're technically just a walking talking corpse running on supernatural go#is fucked up and creepy and upsetting!#and it's something that he would have to come to terms with before he could start exploring what new opportunities it might give him#and i think that's really interesting#it's part of why I love messing with Jason in dpxdc stories so much#danny is fully ghost and fully human and he never feels like he fits in anywhere already#Jason is not quite human and not quite ghost so you can imagine how that would go for him#anyways i think they should be best friends and visit frostbite in the realms to make sure jason is healthy and also they should maybe kiss#and listen to the black parade together and talk about dying and stuff#danny fenton#jason todd#dp x dc#dpxdc#danny phantom#dc#batfam#my rambles#revenant jason todd

Something in the DPxDC fandom that slightly peeves me is when people forgets or ignores that both sides of the crossover are superheroes that live weird lives and deals with shenanigans on a daily basis.
Your honor, Danny would not be shocked by someone stashing guns in their apartment. He grew up with a walk in armory in his basement, Fenton works has a automatic defense system that targets phantom specifically, his dad pulled a rpg on him in the shower. If he has any shock with finding guns tucked away under the sofa it'll be along the line of 'wait this isn't my house, why the fuck is there guns everywhere'.
And like, the dc side have so many supernatural characters that nobody is gonna balk just because of ghost. Don't get me wrong there's plenty of weirdness in DP even by dc standards, just not 'oh no ghosts are real' by itself.
#dpxdc#dcxdp#rambles#anyways. sometimes I just got reminded why the dp fandom is Like That#there really is a endless supply of mess up things from Danny's life

Some Context TigerGhost Next Gen
@music-note120 @siren07tucker
Here's the kidnapping this I was talking about. Lol
The early morning sunlight filtered softly through the curtains, and the quiet hum of Miracle City was beginning to stir outside. Manny hummed as he poured himself a cup of coffee, glancing at the clock. Breakfast was ready, and it was time to get Mateo up. Leaving Danny to finish up in the kitchen, he walked toward Mateo’s nursery, still groggy but smiling at the thought of seeing his son’s tiny, sleepy grin.
“Good morning, Mateo!” Manny called softly as he opened the door. The crib was still and quiet. “Alright, buddy, time to wake—” He stopped mid-sentence, his words catching in his throat. The crib was empty.
For a moment, Manny didn’t panic. “Invisible again, huh?” he muttered to himself, glancing around the room. “Mateo, mi vida, come on, no games. It’s time for breakfast.” He crouched down, looking under the crib and behind the dresser, expecting to see his mischievous toddler hiding.
But the room remained eerily silent.
A chill ran down his spine as he went the door, his brain running to worst case scenarios. “Danny!” Manny called, his voice sharp and urgent.
Danny appeared in an instant, as he phased had through the wall. “What’s wrong?” he asked, his eyes already scanning the room.
Manny gestured to the empty crib. “I think he went invisible again,” he said quickly. “But I can’t find him.”
Danny’s green eyes narrowed as he extended his senses, searching for the faint hum of Mateo’s ghostly core. The room fell into a tense silence as Danny concentrated, his brows furrowing deeper by the second. “Manny…” Danny said, his voice tight. He turned, his glowing eyes locking onto his husband’s. “He’s… not here. I can’t sense his core.”
The weight of Danny’s words hit Manny like a punch to the gut. “What do you mean he’s not here?” Manny demanded, his voice trembling. “He has to be—”
“Wait,” Danny interrupted, his eyes darting to the nightstand. A folded piece of paper was propped up against Mateo’s favorite stuffed toy. Slowly, Danny reached for it, unfolding the note with shaky hands.
The message was scrawled in meticulous yet menacing handwriting:
If you want your son back, come find me. Let’s see how far the great Danny Phantom and El Tigre will go to protect their precious halfa. He’s with me now. Don’t keep me waiting.
Danny’s hand tightened around the paper, the edges curling as his energy flared. He could practically feel the ectoenergy radiating off of him.
Manny’s breathing quickened, and his hands clenched into fists. “Who…?” his whispered, his voice dangerously low.
Danny’s glowing eyes burned brighter as he crumpled the note in his hand. “It doesn’t matter who,” he growled, his voice cold and full of fury. “They took our son. That’s all I need to know.”
Manny’s spun his belt and his claws shot out with a metallic snap, his teeth gritted in a snarl. “They have no idea who they just messed with.”
“They’re going to learn,” Danny said, his voice ice-cold as his aura surged with power. “Let’s bring Mateo home.”
As Danny and Manny stormed back into the living room, Danny clenched the crumpled note in his hand, his glowing eyes blazing with fury.
Manny was pacing, claws snapping in and out, his mind racing through every possible suspect. “I swear,” Manny growled, “when I get my hands on them—”
“It’s Vlad,” Danny interrupted, his voice sharp and sure.
Manny froze mid-step, turning to face his husband. “What?”
“It has to be Vlad,” Danny said, spreading the crumpled note out on the table. He tapped the jagged handwriting with his finger. “No one else in Miracle City knows Mateo is a halfa. Most of them don’t even know what a halfa is. And this…” Danny’s voice trailed off as he stared at the note, his hand trembling with barely-contained rage. “This is exactly his style.”
Manny’s claws scraped against the table as he leaned forward. “That smug bastard from Amity Park? He took Mateo?”
Danny nodded, his jaw tight. “Think about it. He’s the only one who could’ve figured it out. He knows how to stay under the radar in the Ghost Zone, and he must’ve learned about our portal here. It wouldn’t take much for him to find us.”
Manny slammed his hands down on the table, his claws leaving faint gouges in the wood. “Why? Why would he come after Mateo?”
Danny’s glowing eyes darkened. “Because he’s obsessed with halfa biology. He always has been. He probably wants to experiment or… or study him.” Danny’s voice broke slightly, his fists clenching as he forced himself to keep going. “He’s not going to hurt him—he wouldn’t dare. But that doesn’t mean Mateo isn’t in danger.”
Manny stepped closer to Danny, placing a hand on his shoulder. “We’re going to get him back, mi amor,” he said firmly. “No one messes with our son. No one.”
Danny took a deep breath, steadying himself before nodding. “We’ll start with the portal,” he said. “If he came through the Ghost Zone, I can track his trail.”
The two of them rushed to their ghost portal, located in the small lab space they’d built in their garage. Danny activated the portal, his rings flashing around him as he transformed into Danny Phantom. His icy green aura flared as he stepped inside, Manny following close behind.
Danny extended his senses, searching for Vlad’s energy signature. It didn’t take long to find it—faint, but unmistakable, like a trail of breadcrumbs leading deeper into the Ghost Zone. “He’s smart,” Danny muttered. “He covered his tracks, but not well enough.”
“Where’s he taking him?” Manny asked, his voice tight.
“Probably one of his old lairs,” Danny said, his eyes narrowing as he followed the trail. “He’s been obsessed with me since I was a kid. Now he’s trying to mess with my family? Not fucking happening.”
Manny’s fists clenched, his claws glinting. “He picked the wrong people to mess with.”
As they followed the trail deeper into the Ghost Zone, the air grew colder, the eerie green glow of the Zone becoming darker and more foreboding. The tension between them was palpable, their shared anger and determination driving them forward.
Finally, they reached a familiar floating island, its jagged towers looming against the swirling green sky. Danny’s aura flared brighter as he floated toward the entrance. “This is it,” he said, his voice ice-cold. “He’s here.”
Manny nodded, his claws snapping into place as he prepared for the fight ahead. “Lead the way, mi fantasma.”
The eerie hum of Vlad’s lab filled the air as Danny and Manny phased into the cavernous space. The cold, metallic walls reflected the pale green glow of machinery lining the room, their sharp hums and beeps creating an unsettling rhythm.
At the center of it all, Mateo sat in what looked like a cage, but more sinister. The contraption, built like a playpen, had wires and tubes running from it to machines monitoring Mateo’s vitals and energy levels.
Mateo’s hair was white, his little face glowing faintly as he babbled nervously, his wide green eyes darting to the flashing lights around him.
The moment Danny and Manny stepped into the room Danny's ghost sense flared. Then Mateo’s did the same as he perked up and reached toward them, a pleading whimper escaping his tiny lips.
“Ah,” Vlad’s voice rang out smoothly as he emerged from behind one of the monitors. “I’m glad you could make it, Daniel. And you brought your... fiery... companion, I see—”
Vlad didn’t get the chance to finish. Manny launched himself across the room like a bullet, his claws snapping out as he landed a brutal punch square across Vlad’s face.
The older halfa staggered back, clutching his jaw as ectoplasmic blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.
“Ypu shut the fuck up!” Manny snarled, his claws sparking dangerously as he loomed over Vlad. “You kidnapped our baby, you absolute psycho.”
Vlad straightened slowly, wiping the ectoplasmic blood off his chin with a dark smirk. “How... brute-like,” he said, his tone dripping with condescension.
“I’m seriously considering ripping your ghost core out of your chest,” Manny hissed, his voice low and deadly. “So shut the fuck up before I stop considering it.”
Danny, meanwhile, phased through the machines, his sharp green eyes scanning every wire and tube connected to Mateo’s cage. “It’s okay, Mateo,” Danny said, his voice steady but trembling slightly with emotion. “I’m here, buddy. Papi’s gonna get you out.”
Mateo reached his tiny hands toward Danny, his babbles turning to relieved cries. Danny’s hands glowed as he phased through the lock on the cage, disconnecting the wires with practiced precision.
Vlad’s smirk faded slightly as he straightened, his eyes narrowing. “You should be thanking me, Daniel,” he said, his voice cold. “I’m doing research that could save him—save all of your offspring.”
Danny froze for a moment, his glowing hands pausing mid-motion as he turned to glare at Vlad. “Offspring?” he repeated, his voice icy.
Vlad gestured to the monitors displaying data about Mateo. “Yes, offspring,” he said with a sharp edge. “The few hours of research I’ve conducted already show fascinating results. Ghost DNA is dominant in your child’s genetics. All of your children will be halfas, Daniel. It’s a biological certainty.”
Manny’s claws twitched, his fists tightening as his anger bubbled over. “You kidnapped my son,” he growled, his voice low and menacing. “You don’t get to talk about him—or any of our possible kids—like they’re science experiments.”
Vlad raised an eyebrow, his expression calm but his eyes calculating. “I’m providing answers you would never have found on your own,” he said smoothly. “Mateo is remarkably stable for a halfa his age. His powers are developing at a much faster rate than yours ever did, Daniel."
“He’s a baby!” Danny snapped, his aura flaring as he turned back to Vlad. “You don’t get to experiment on him just because you’re curious!”
With one final, glowing swipe, Danny phased Mateo out of the cage, pulling him close and wrapping his arms protectively around him. Mateo clung to Danny, his cries quieting as he buried his face in his papi’s shoulder.
Vlad’s gaze lingered on the child, his expression unreadable. “You’re wasting an opportunity,” he said softly. “He could be the key to understanding—”
“I don’t care!” Danny interrupted, his voice sharp and venomous. “He’s my son, not your science project.”
Manny stepped forward, his claws glowing as he loomed over Vlad once more. “You ever come near him again,” Manny said, his voice deadly calm, “and I will rip your core out. No warnings next time.”
Vlad stared at Manny for a long moment, his smirk returning faintly as he dabbed at his split lip. “Noted,” he said simply, though the dangerous glint in his eyes remained. “Take your leave, then. But remember, Daniel... knowledge is power.”
Danny didn’t respond, his focus entirely on the trembling child in his arms. “Let’s go,” he said to Manny, his voice steady but laced with fury.
Manny nodded, keeping a sharp eye on Vlad as they backed toward the portal.
As they stepped through, leaving the lab behind, Danny held Mateo tightly, pressing a kiss to his son’s hair. “It’s okay, mi vida,” he whispered. “We’ve got you.”
Manny placed a hand on Danny’s back, his own rage slowly giving way to relief. “He’s safe,” Manny said softly. “That’s all that matters.”
But as they returned home, Danny couldn’t shake the weight of Vlad’s words. All your offspring will be halfas… It was a thought he didn’t want to dwell on—not now, at least. Not when Mateo needed him more than ever.

@f4nd0m-fun here
So, I was on the ship Wiki, and I'm wondering what your Crane ships are?
I stumbled on Scriddler and TwoCrow, and I couldn't help but peek at TwoRiddle, so now I'm thinking about TwoScriddler, and oh no.
I barely know these chars and yet here I am.
Now combine this with John barely speaking with his fam and... you got Danny showing up on his doorstep one day, and Crane may have forgot to tell his buds about it, and you've got a small mess.
Personally, if I had to ship Harvey with someone, it's Gilda or Bruce (or both) (Unless it's Batman Forever version, then definitely TwoRiddle cause HAVE YOU SEEN THEM!?)
But honestly? This made me thinking... (Long ass rant ahead that may or may not make sense. This is written while being sleep deprived)
Jonny boy here ain't the only one who suffered abuse as a child. Both Harvey and Edward have as well. They both have Daddy Issues while Jonathan, depending on how you interpret him or which backstory you use, have granny issues + religious trauma or also Daddy Issues.
That being said, Harvey gives me the "this family ends with me" vibes, especially after he became Two-Face, and may be put off with Danny's presence for a while. He doesn't want to continue the cycle and become his dad. He'd likely would have liked, at the very least, to have been informed about the new addition to their family so he can... Prepare essentially/get used to the idea/plan how to avoid Danny. He's... For the lack of better words, cautious/careful around Danny, as to not accidentally trigger himself by accidentally hurting the kid. Does this make sense?
It'll take a while for Harvey to relax around Danny but for sure, he's gonna be very protective, if because he's Jonny's kid at first. He'll come to adore the kid and while not see him as a son but like... Oh, who's he and Harv kidding, that's his kid now and too hell with a coin, fuck with one of his then you'd get instant death penalty with him as the Executioner.
Harvey is gonna try and teach Danny law, specifically how to use loopholes against the system and evade arrests and such cause what else is gonna try to do to bond with Danny? Man's life had always revolved around law... Though... there are times where he'd go into this sort of story mode, recalling his experiences with Danny. He's soft and distant here but this is his way to fully open up, if that makes sense.
Harv, on the other hand? Teaching Danny how the criminal world works. Kid needs to learn how Gotham works. Can't have him die (er- turn fully ghosts? Yeah, he and Harvey don't understand Danny's halfa nature but they try and are supportive... They can't help but be reminded of themselves actually-) or Jonny's gonna be beyond pissed in a whole new level. Is actually rather strict, makes sure to put ground rules and boundaries with Danny compared to the rest of the parental unit that is Twoscriddler. Someone has to be the strict parent... How he and Harvey are considered the functional parent here is cause they actually practice self-care, well to an extent anyways, compared to his idiot lovers who would go days on end without eating, drinking, or sleeping, if the chance rises.
Harv, though rarely, would go into story mode as well to Danny, but in his perspective. There are many times he and Harvey hate each other but... They lived and went through the same life. Just differently. He mainly does this after something especially happened with Danny, like say, Danny nearly got shot...
Now, Edward on the other hand... Really depends on the version but in my opinion, he'd be indifferent with Danny at first, if a bit surprised. Jonny, with a kid? Now, isn't that interesting. Would definitely grow very fond of Danny very quickly, and if he learns that Danny's good with inventing and such, he is, for sure, gonna nurture those skills.
Eddie boy is gonna drag Danny to his workshop so they can bond over building shit. Also, VIDEO GAMES CAUSE YOU CAN NOT TELL ME OTHERWISE THAT EDDIE'S NOT A GAMER! Gets too competitive, too loud, just overall chaotic fun with Eddie also rambling about shit in the process. Just, the two are fucking gremlins and fueling each other's chaotic streak somehow cause while Eddie is an adult very full of himself, he acts too much like a child when he's relaxed and not trying to maintain his dignified image even though everyone has at least witness his childish streak at least once (this including his tantrums/meltdowns...)
The fun uncle/dad that managed to help Danny feel like a normal kid he wasn't able to be exactly due to living with mad scientists (who wanted to kill him later on even if they didn't know it was him). Eddie boy would also definitely help tutor Danny. Just that he may get impatient or teaches things too fast. Best that Jonny's there helping with tutoring so it's better paced and not going overboard.
But uh- yeah, it's gonna be a bit of mess when Harvey/Harv entered the shared apartment and see a random kid in there (who both resembles Jonny in some ways and also has the right coloration to be considered Wayne bait AND OH BOY-) huddled in blankets. Eddie would likely just walk past Danny, and after a few moments, walks backwards and stare at Danny, processing, before getting Jonny or Harvey, before trying to maybe interrogate? Depends if he slept or was hyperfocused on a project in his workshop.
[Also, @f4nd0m-fun, I swear, you've been fueling my need to create more Uncle Scarecrow content- DO YOU KNOW HOW HYPER AND EXCITED YOU MADE WHEN YOU @ ME!? Well, I think you're gonna see it when I do the reblogs... Just- XD, I'm having too much fun today/last night/lately (wtf is time anymore)]

i think it'd be so funny for valerie to try decapitating danny only to then realize that it didn't work bc time and again this girl fails to understand that this boy is basically unkillable
so now she's forced to hold the sides of danny's face so that his head can start reattaching itself to his neck and now this is totally not awkward for either of them
#i think she would try to avert her eyes from looking directly @ him only for danny to get annoyed#and be like yk looking @ me won't kill you right#she's like well you don't know#danny's like ugh rlly how red and then she says smth silly like well given how freaky you are you can laser vision for all ik#he's like rlly that's the best you could up w wow that's dumb#she's like hey you're one w a freakish body not me#danny's like oh ok well you're the one who thought it'd be a great idea to come chop my head off#as valerie's forced to look @ him some more#she start noticing how his freckles look and that they have a slight glow#that it's kinda cute actually only for her to realize that's stupid and try to take her mind off it#meanwhile danny can't get over how weirdly nice it feels for valerie to be cupping his face given the circumstances#anyways they're both a mess lol#danny phantom#gray ghost#things to draw#robi rambles

Also can I just fucking say that Dan's timeline breaks my heart. He married Sarah sometime after the series ended. He was in his mid-40s. So if he met her immediately after the series, and it picks up with him in his mid-70s- He only got to spend about 30 years at best with her. and he loved her so damn much. He waited his whole life for someone who would love him that much, genuinely make it feel like he was worth loving... And the she got taken from him all too soon. it makes my heart ache, because he's suffered so much...
I'd be bitter, too. I understand why he was so closed off at the beginning of the reboot. He was torn apart. Life had given him the best gift he'd ever received, and then took it away so cruelly....

Okay wait I just had this sudden thought about Sam from Danny Phantom about how there is that contradiction of her being from one of the most wealthy families in Amity Park which allows her to afford eco friendly alternatives and how she doesn't really fight for fixing the root of the problem for the things she protests but fights at more of a surface maybe even superficial level and how that also comes into play when she tries to force that lifestyle onto other people, like idk if I worded this in a way that makes sense but that like came to me like yesterday
(I know it's a cartoon by Butch Hartman but I couldn't help but realize that)
#frankie's jumbled mess#this is not a hate post just in case anyone takes it that way but more of an observation#danny phantom#sam manson#im rambling

Consider this 30-2
So what if they picked a game where one character lives part of a life of another character, I’m specifically thinking Eternal Darkness, Because what if Damian has to go through part of Danny’s life and the game specifically chooses a certain accident (portal) for Damian to live through to get the Tome, it can be any game that has one character Living another’s life temporarily thing going but that game is one of my hyper fixations and won’t truly ever really leave my mind.
DPXDC Prompt #30
It’s been a while since they had a moment of calm in the Wayne household. Danny and Damian found themselves sitting on the U shaped couch talking,
“You mentioned before going into the Video Game Doomed, have you tried it with other games? Or tried it with a companion?” Damian asked.
Danny considers the question before shaking his head… the two try it and it works
From here you can really throw them into any game you choose, but I headcannon that Danny would absolutely pick something horror or ghost themed. They wind up in Luigi’s Mansion, Damian playing the part of Luigi frustrated with trying to get his brother back, while Danny argues with King Boo,
“I’m technically half ghost, doesn’t keeping me here technically goes against your whole thing here?”
Danny knows he’s being a pain but he doesn’t really care.
#dp x dc prompt#dp x dc#dc x dp#danny fenton#danny phantom#damian wayne#batman#video games#They go into the game#eternal darkness#Lmao what if the Magic system messes with Danny’s ability to let them leave forcing them to beat it#Guess Danny and Damian both arrive at the manor but Damian actually reads through the book#I freeze up when I play horror games and makes them unplayable for me how the hell did I beat this one?#Id do it again#I wish I didn’t have partial mutism I’d totally stream it#thanks for listening to my ramblings#ramblings of a lunatic

Toast Trauma
Dpxdc Prompt #31
Danny hadn't been adopted by Bruce, but he might as well have been. He was a Gotham vigilante, he knew everyone's identity, and he hung out in the Batcave after patrols. He had joined Barbara and Steph in the emotional part of Bruce's biological, legal, and emotional children.
Which meant after a while he was invited upstairs and was given a tour by Dick to, "make sure he was in the know of all the rules!"
Danny didn't question it, honestly most of the rules didn't apply to him as a guest anyway so it was just a fun time to hear the stories about where they came from.
"-and that's why although all the chandeliers have been reinforced we are not supposed to swing on them! That's it for the gala room, next up is the kitchen."
"Pfft, alright let me hear them. What are the 'totally reasonable' rules for the kitchen?"
"Well first of all, unless specifically Alfred approved, no one is allowed to make anything using the appliances other than toast. If you mess up particularly bad you may even get banned from that. B still isn't allowed to step foot into the kitchen since The Incident but that's a story for another time."
Danny had stopped listening to Dick ramble on right after the words "toast" left his mouth. He wouldn't be forced to eat toast everyday ever again. He needed to be able to cook in the Wayne's kitchen.
"Dick, how do you get Alfred approved?" Danny queried, his serious tone disrupting the previously joking atmosphere.
"Well in the whole family Jason's the only one with the honor, and we have no idea how he did it. He won't tell us."
Danny cracked his knuckles and flew through the wall. He needed to know the secret, his sanity depended on it.
Dick called from behind, panting, "Wait, Danny! What are you doing? It's Jason's day off!"
Danny flew back to him and dropped his feet onto the floor for only a moment before saying with a solem lilt to his voice, "Anything to never have to eat toast again."
And then he flew off again, presumably to interrogate Jason.
...
Dick started the toaster to make sure he had something to eat while puzzling over what just happened.
#danny hears the toaster start has war flashbacks and throws a projectile to break it#he will not be forced to eat only toast#he ignores the fact that alfred cooks for everyone and he would only have to have toast if he ate when alfred was busy#dpxdc#dp x dc prompt#danny fenton#dick grayson#toast#queenie prompts

Thinking about a full ghost Danny AU where he just straight-up dies in the portal. I think there should be more of those. <3
Character death, obviously.
------------
The drive back to Fentonworks was a blur in Maddie's memory, keeping Tucker on the line while he sobbed and stammered, trying and failing to keep himself together and explain what happened.
"-doesn't h-have a heartbeat and he's f-freaking out-"
"It just turned on, we don't know w-what happened, he, he said it didn't work-"
"-trying to keep Danny c-calm-"
"Please come home."
Jack's driving was even worse than usual, veering through the streets in an undisguised panic. Maddie hadn't been able to discern much from Tucker's ramble; the portal had finally turned on, but the kids had been messing around with it and Danny had gotten hurt. How hurt? Tucker didn't seem to be sure, but all three of them were in a state.
Jack pulled into their driveway and flung himself out, half the GAV still sprawled across the sidewalk. Maddie was right behind him, hanging up on Tucker with a quick assurance that they'd be right there.
"DANNY!" Jack yelled.
"In here!" Sam called back, from the open lab door. Of course.
Maddie slipped past Jack and got there first, almost falling down the stairs in her haste. What she saw there made her heart stop.
Danny wasn't there. There were three teens crumpled on the ground in front of the activated portal (a part of her sang, it worked, it worked) but Danny wasn't one of them. There was Tucker, staring blankly at the floor, and Sam, with her arm around a strange, glowing white-haired boy that was in tears - a ghost. A ghost? A ghost!
"GHOST!" Jack yelled in delight. The teen sobbed harder.
"Where's Danny?" Maddie demanded. Sam looked up sharply, her eyes wide like Maddie had never seen, her face dead pale under her makeup.
"I'm sorry!" Sam blurted out, looking nearly in tears herself. "I just, I, I thought it would be cool, it was just a picture, I, I didn't think-"
Maddie's heart skipped a beat. "Sam. Where is Danny?"
Sam looked at the crying boy next to her, huddled under her arm as if for comfort. The boy looked up, radioactive eyes swimming with tears and the water on his skin sparkling prismatically, and met Maddie's eyes.
"Mom," he croaked, his voice tripled and echoing with itself like a movie memory. "What happened to me?"
Maddie's knees gave out, and she crumpled to the floor, unable to take her eyes from the ghost in front of her. In a moment, she understood.
That was Danny. His colors had partially inverted, his hair turning white, the colors of his haz-mat suit - God, that was his haz-mat suit, the one they'd made for him and that he never used - reversing to white-on-black. He'd huddled into Sam, shaking and gasping, but now was pulling away, looking at Maddie like- like he thought she could fix this.
"I think something's wrong," Danny said, his voice trembling somewhere underneath all the alien reverberation. "Should we go to the hospital or, or something?"
"I don't think the hospital can fix this, man," Tucker said weakly, lifting his head just to stare at Danny.
The portal powered down with a whine. Maddie jerked her head up with a gasp, and found Jack at the control box, backing up silently. Jack stared into the portal. Maddie followed his gaze.
She couldn't stop the scream that tore itself from her throat. Jack yelled too, running inside, tripping over the bundled cables, and collapsing unceremoniously short of the body inside. Careless of that, Jack crawled forward the last few feet, scooped up the body, and then started to sob, cradling Danny's burnt and blistered corpse against him.
"...Do we call 911?" Danny asked, voice cracking. Maddie's head snapped back to him from the corpse, watching him stare in bleak, lost confusion at his father and the body he was hugging.
Danny didn't even believe in ghosts. Neither of their kids hid it, treating their profession with a lighthearted exasperation at home and plain embarrassment outside. Somehow, the fact made all of this worse.
"What's happening?" Danny asked helplessly. Shock, the stable part of Maddie's brain told her. He sees what's going on but his mind won't comprehend it. (He wasn't expecting to die today.)
"Y-yes," Maddie said at last, and then forced her voice to stabilize. "I'll... I'll call 911."
But first, she held out her arms, and Danny all but scrambled across the room to throw himself into her arms, still shaking. He was cold as ice, freezing through her haz-mat suit, and that was before he slipped forward with a yelp and tumbled through her. He scrambled back with a cry and tried again, and this time fell solidly against her, hiccupping. She wrapped an arm around him, shushing him softly, and groped for her phone with the other hand. She couldn't take her eyes off Jack, now carrying Danny out of the portal and staring from his corpse to his ghost, looking shattered.
"911, what is your emergency?"
"My son is dead," Maddie heard herself say. Danny hiccupped and clutched at her tighter. There was a brief pause.
"I'm very sorry, ma'am. Where are you? Have you checked his pulse?"
"We're at the Fentonworks building, 18701 northwest..." She rattled off the address mindlessly, and reached down to fumble for Danny's wrist. He let her have it without complaint, too terrified to put up any resistance. She shuddered as she felt nothing, not even the tendons or bone that should be there. Then she looked up at the corpse in Jack's arms and swallowed. "Jack, h-his... his pulse."
Jack nodded mutely and fumbled for Danny's wrist, gingerly running his fingers down the burnt skin until he found the right spot.
"What do you mean, his pulse, his ghost is literally in your lap!" Sam half-shrieked, her mascara running and her fists clenched against her cheeks, her breath coming in short gasps.
"No pulse," Jack croaked hollowly, staring at Danny's ghost.
"Maybe they could..." No, it was a foolish thought, and she wouldn't put false hopes into Danny's head just to put off her own grief. She cradled him closer again, feeling him shudder. She spoke to the operator. "N-no pulse, ma'am."
"Ambulance and police are on their way," the operator said, calm and reassuring. "Can you stay on the line with me?"
"Yes." Maddie felt numb, her own hands trembling as she held Danny close.
"Thank you. Can you tell me your name? Is there anyone else with you?"
"Maddie Fenton," she said. "My husband is with me, and my son's two friends, and... and my son's ghost."
There was another brief pause.
"Alright, Maddie." Maybe it was her imagination, but she thought the operator sounded gentler there. They thought she was crazy, of course. Maddie shut her eyes. "Can you tell me what happened?"
"I, I don't know. My son Danny was home with his friends, and they called and..." Deep breath. She started over. "There was an accident in our lab. Danny was electrocuted by one of our in-progress projects."
"Is the device still on?"
"No, ma'am. We had to turn it off to remove the, the body."
Maddie continued answering questions on autopilot, most of her attention on her son, her husband, and the body. Danny had stopped crying, but remained glued to her side, shivering and sniffling. Jack continued to cradle Danny's body, but his eyes were now fixed on Danny, grief spread across his face. Sam and Tucker had both quieted, watching them with fearful, guilt-stricken looks.
It seemed to take forever for the police and ambulance to arrive. Sam got up to show them inside without being asked, staggering up to steps on obviously shaky legs. Maddie was too grateful to insist on her or Jack doing it; with Danny's ghost cradled against her and his corpse in Jack's arms, well...
The paramedics arrived first, sharp-eyed and professional, but the first almost immediately faltered as he laid eyes on the scene. But Jack held up Danny's body beseechingly, his eyes wet and miserable, and they jolted into action.
"Thank you, ma'am," Maddie said to the woman on the line. "They're here now. May I hang up?"
"Yes. The paramedics will take it from here. Take care, Maddie."
Maddie hung up, and looked at the two paramedics as they filed down. They looked at each other, one inclined his head toward Danny, and they split up, one heading for Jack and the body, the other toward Maddie and the ghost. Both of them knelt beside their chosen patient, and Maddie fixed her attention on the one with her.
"Are you Danny?" the paramedic asked, unexpectedly gentle. Danny peeked up and nodded uncertainly, and the paramedic glanced at the body before seeming to make a decision. "Okay, Danny. My coworker June is going to check your body for signs of life to see if you can still be revived. Are you okay with that?" Danny hiccupped and nodded, though a new wave of tears welled up and trickled down his cheeks. "Can you tell me what happened?"
Danny hiccupped again, reaching up to wipe his eyes. "M-my friends wanted to see the p-portal," he managed, voice wavering. Maddie squeezed him, her own eyes welling up while the paramedic listened patiently. "A-and it didn't work so I t-thought it would be f-fine. I went inside a-and I d-didn't check if it was plugged in or anything, a-and then I tripped and fell and I think I hit a button and it turned on!" His voice rose until he was almost wailing. Maddie's throat tightened, and she hugged him closer. Her poor baby.
"You were electrocuted?" the paramedic checked softly.
"I guess," Danny sniffled. "I dunno. It just hurt. And then I felt really cold, and then I..." He looked down at himself and sniffled again, tears slipping nonstop down his cheeks. "Am I dead?"
The paramedic looked at his coworker, who met his eyes and shook her head. Maddie had to swallow a hiccup of her own, trying to be brave for her terrified son. The paramedic did a much better job at it, looking back at Danny and speaking gently.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly. "There's nothing we can do. June is going to call a coroner and explain the situation-" He caught the other paramedic's eye, and she gave him a nod. "-and we'll have your body taken somewhere it can be prepared for burial or cremation, whichever you prefer." Danny started crying again, and the paramedic exhaled and looked up to meet Maddie's eyes. "Obviously, there's no protocols for this situation. But, as his mother, I think it would still be appropriate for you to make a decision if he doesn't feel able to."

Prompt 214
“I did an oopsie.”
Clockwork paused in his work, gaze turning from his work towards his ghostling (it didn’t matter if he was an adult, he’d always be his ghostling) who was smiling nervously, avoiding his eyes.
“Oh?” He kept his tone light, even as he worked on untangling a time knot. Honestly at least Danny was immune to any effect of time, even if he couldn’t look into his timelines in exchange. It came with being the other half of Infinity.
“Yeeah… you know that corner of the multiverse you told me not to go to because you’re working on some time problems? I might have stumbled into one of the worlds in the corner…”
He stopped his machinations, fully turning towards Danny- Space, his Core whispered and quivered in utter delight at having an Equal in power- with a raised eyebrow, leaning on his staff and silently telling him to explain.
Danny poked his fingers together, giving a nervous laugh. “So uh, I was just exploring right? Well me and Ellie, you know how she gets when she can’t wander, and um… I er, we might have messed with some things in the creation of it… I didn’t know it was part of that universe, I swear! It was so far at the fringes and halfway into the Zone and I couldn’t just let a universe die before it began and-”
Oh- Oh! His ghostling (and his grand-ghostlings it sounded like) had claimed his first universe! He could put off these time knots, this was a grand milestone for any Ancient, nevermind such a primordial force as one of theirs.
And this is how a DC world came into being with humans evolving with more avian traits. Like wings. And claws. Look, Dan thought it’d be funny if they gave baby humanity wings and Ellie started rambling about how much farther they could travel if they had them and Danny thought it could be cool. Oh well, time to keep an eye on their itty baby world now…
