Now that Interview with the Vampire ep 5 has aired I was stunned and delighted as expected. One thing I haven’t seen discussed before is that Armand saves Daniel from Louis the first time. But why? Louis was going to kill him. They say it’s because Louis was partial to him, but a) Armand brainwashed Louis to think that and b) Armand certainly knew Louis was more than fond of Claudia, and, well…

Still we know from what Armand says and also the general fact Armand is a creeper (said with love) that he was listening to a lot of that interview, and we know how the interview went.

Young Daniel: you have a coffin!

Louis: I’m a vampire. I know this must be scary…

Young Daniel: Didn’t ask just assumed we’d bang in the coffin! Show me your fangs pretty boy! I’ll be Team Claudia for 50 years and team cocaine for at least another decade. Your loved ones are dead right? You should turn me into a vampire! I’ll be your vampire dad and your daughter!

Okay so Daniel definitely needs to be worried about Louis more than he is! That fucking smile -ooph!

The insinuation that Armand is Alice and he rejected Daniel and Louis forcing him to admit it for entertainment!!! Louis babes ( companion of the dark gift at last)

Also Jacob and Assad’s acting!!!🤌🏾 they clearly aren’t in love but Armand’s longing looks at Daniel this episode really showed the distance between himself and Louis. (God I wish it was in my power to throw an Emmy at Jacob’s face!!)

Eric is killing it as molloy! I really can’t imagine anyone else in the role! The way he goes from petty to pathetic in the same scene needs to be studied under a microscope! That choke up before he said no destroyed me.

Can I also add the hilarity of the two possibly most emotionally repressed characters who refuses to be fully vulnerable for anyone being connected to such an extent that they will (involuntarily) feel each others feelings??? Share a bond unlike anything else?

Armand desperate-to-be-loved terrified-of-being-rejected always hiding part of himself (by playing a character/adapting to being the perfect bf/using mind manipulation when pressed) etc. on the one side and Daniel cannot-not-be-sarcastic, “only” slept with men to score, attack-is-the-best-defense, not a kind word to anyone especially(!) not himself Molloy - are going to be fully emotionally exposed to one another!

Is that why Armand left? They couldn’t look at each other in the eyes anymore? Did the turning turn a lot more sensual and emotional than expected? Them both insisting it was all about spite and hatred because the truth is much worse (they both find each other f*cking fascinating and everything got way to real way to quickly, and they would rather kill each other than admit that)

Goddddd it's so true, Armand is so used to playing roles and lying, Daniel who puts on a very blunt self-effacing attitude at all times because of all of his fuckups (but that also cover any uncomfortable emotions that accompany his fuckups). And now they're attached to each other for eternity!

I deeeeeply suspect Armand is gonna be in a State after the turning, even just out of sheer shame for buckling on the one thing he said he'd never do. I don't think there's any possible way that he turned Daniel solely out of spite, and I could see him just being a mess because of all of the Inconvenient Feelings involved in making This Specific Guy a vampire and breaking his promise.
