sweeney bway round 2 ~ all the little things + my favorite moments 🩶
- toby!!!! daniel marconi was absolutely divine. i really loved his movements, he kind of flails about with a tiny, strange limp. you can tell there’s something off and it just makes him all the more endearing. he’s so loving and his not while i’m around broke my heart into a million pieces
- i forgot how disturbing poor thing is. turpin has this vulture mask on and he just looks so disgusting and cruel. the staging looks like a satanic ritual and really establishes judge turpin as a perverted, evil piece of shit from hell
- mrs. lovett kissing up and down sweeney’s shoulder and beginning to slide his suspenders off just after wait, then someone walks in and she quickly slides it back up (and forgot who LMFAO i was so giddy)
- mrs. lovett genuinely calming affect on sweeney just melts me. they really needed eachother 🫂
- josh & annaleigh are so perfect, they read so genuinely as old friends and apprehensive lovers. they are magnetic. their bond is so palpable and it just makes everything hurt more
- mrs. lovett holding sweeney’s arm and nuzzling her face into his shoulder during pirelli’s
- lucy cries a lot. you can hear her sobbing whenever she’s on stage. she’s clearly very sensitive to men’s anger and is distraught whenever sweeney yells at her. my poor baby 💔
- also during pirelli’s; sweeney rubbing mrs. lovett’s hand and whispering into her ear. it’s def their most mutually affectionate song besides a little priest. felt like their little honeymoon era 🥰
- anthony began to sob at the end of johanna. i interpreted it as him seeing turpin abuse jo cuz he looked horrified. it was really really impactful
- sweeney holding lucy’s body and screaming in grief during toby’s monologue
- during a little priest after the whole privates gag, mrs. lovett was down on her knees and had her hand at sweeney’s groin and they both just stared at eachother it was PERFECTION
- i think a little priest was prob 10 minutes long because josh and annaleigh had SO MUCH interaction. they milked the living shit out of it and i’m so glad they did
anyway this is a fucking spectacular production of the best musical ever written. will not take any other answers thanks. hilarious, heartbreaking, dark, sexy sondheim. it doesn’t get any better. i will be back trust me. GOD, THATS GOOD!

SWEENEY TODD - BROADWAY - JANUARY 2024
Sweeney Todd | Broadway (3rd Revival) | 2024, January | MP4 (12.25 GB, 2160p) | The Riddle’s master Cast: Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd), Annaleigh Ashford (Mrs. Lovett), Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Maria Bilbao (Johanna), Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), Daniel Marconi (Tobias Ragg), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Nicholas Christopher (Adolfo Pirelli), Stephen Tewksbury (Jonas Fogg), Jonathan Christopher (Bird Seller), Taelar Cyrus (Ensemble), Timothy Hughes (Ensemble), Paul-Jordan Jansen (Ensemble), Alicia Kaori (Ensemble), Raymond J. Lee (Ensemble), Mia Pinero (s/w Ensemble), Lexi Rabadi (Ensemble), Nathan Salstone (Ensemble), Kristie Dale Sanders (Ensemble), Stephen Tewksbury (Ensemble), Daniel Torres (Ensemble), Felix Torrez-Ponce (Ensemble), DeLaney Westfall (Ensemble)
Notes: Excellent 4k capture of Josh and Annaleigh’s last show with the company. One long blackout during the Ballad of Sweeney Todd due to usher activity (unfortunately, there is no video of Josh's entrance), and the beginning of “God, That’s Good!” is audio only due to latecomers/usher activity. A few other occasional blackouts due to usher activity. Video takes a while to get settled in act one, but once it does, action is followed well with a mix of mediums, wides, and zooms. Minor obstruction from a railing and heads from time to time. Includes Josh and Annaleigh’s goodbye speeches.
NFT DATE: AUGUST 1, 2024 Sales only until NFT date; price is $18

My own headcanon is that Alastor was born in either 1886 or 1895, putting is age at either 46/47 or 37/38.
The theory of electromagnetism, which proposed the existence of radio waves before they were discovered, came in 1865, written by James Clerk Maxwell. But this is way too early for consideration; that would make Al 66 years old.
However, in 1886 this theory was confirmed and radio waves (also dubbed "Hertzian waves") were first discovered by Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (the guy where the Hertz unit was named after because of this discovery), he published his research throughout 1886-1888 so these precise timestamps might be slightly off.
And in 1895 the very first radio capable of long-distance wireless communication (2.4 km/1.5 mi only, but still) was constructed by Guglielmo Marconi. Of course, he doesn't deserve all the credit, as he used many models that came before that, for example the Branly detector by Édouard Branly invented in 1890.
Note: Basically all of these years and the exact dates these discoveries were made on are very ambiguous or take place over the course of multiple years. I tried to pinpoint a single date for every event but it is quite possible I messed up somewhere so please take these dates with a grain of salt.
I thought it would be fun if Alastor was born in one of those years as a nod to history, but none of these are based on anything concrete canon except for the age range of 30s-40s that we were given.
I always thought it was kinda weird for a 30-something dude to act like a parental figure to someone who was (biologically, not chronologically, I know Charlie is like 200) in her 20s, even if it wasn't genuine, so I've always thought he wasn't in his early 30s.

"Electric waves; being research on the propagation of electric action with finite velocity through space" by Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (author) and Daniel Evan Jones (translator)
"Marconi's Three Transatlantic Radio Stations in Cape Breton" by Henry M. Bradford
I really need to analyse more incest because my name makes no sense now. Anyone have any ideas?

What's your favorite "killer becomes a victim" case in CC?
Pretty self-explanatory. I tend to think those cases are some of the best in all of CC, and several of these cases are quite popular, so I'm curious--out of all of them, which one was your favorite?
Note: I'm only counting cases where someone who was revealed to be the killer of a case who then becomes a victim, so people who masterminded/ordered, but did not personally commit, murders such as Archie Rochester or Natasha Romanova, people who killed someone off-screen but weren't convicted for it during the game, such as Father Donovan or Ruth Wu, or even people who murdered someone on-screen but weren't arrested and convicted, such as Denise Daniels, don't count.
Thanks to Tumblr's poll limits, I couldn't put all 12 cases where the killer is the victim. The cases I decided to leave out were Death without Parole, where Kev O'Connell is killed, and The Third Degree, where Theresa Rosenthal was killed, considering I figured that those were probably the least memorable out of all of these cases. If those were your favorite "killer becomes the victim" cases, uh, sorry about that.

Another ship nerd post:
One thing I've been thinking about recently is the communication between Prometheus and Kerberos and the signal that was received by the crew in episode 1.
So, every ship has a call sign. A call sign for ocean liners used to be a set of capital letters, mostly three (It's the same today, but there are some rules about wichh country they're registered in that did not exist back then). It is used to identify a certain ship over the wireless communication system.
For example, Titanic's distress call was CQD MGY (CQD is the equivalent of SOS that is used today, and MGY was Titanic's call sign).
Now, both Kerberos and Prometheus probably have their own call signs, but it was not deemed important in the show (because it wasn't about maritime nerdism I guess). Still, I can't help but think about the signal that, as we know, was supposedly sent by Daniel. The crew says it's only the coordinates they received, and from moment one, they aren't sure it's actually Prometheus.
Eyk mentioned that all three sister ships were equipped with a new communication system that allows them to communicate on further distances than other ships. This would probably be a nod to Marconi radio that was invented back in 1895 because even years later, a lot of ships were found lacking more modern communication. So, yeah, they might believe it can only come from the Prometheus because other ships might not be able to reach that far, but still, why did no one wonder why there was no call sign, no identification and no CQD? Because the only reason that would be possible is if the entire crew was dead and not able to communicate the right way. Also, a random passenger knowing the right coordinates of the ship but not knowing anything else is impossible. Even the passengers questioned how the crew knew it was the Prometheus, and Eyk gave them the explanation that I just wrote, but it was literally a shot in the dark with zero identification.
Again, I have no idea why I wrote this, cause it means absolutely nothing for the story, since Bo and Jantje probably didn't expect random ship nerds to strip bare every detail about it, but anyway...

Formularios F.U.F.A. (1956)

ok i spent sunday drinking with oomfs and then monday mourning i’m Ready to Share what i can i remember from sunday
the energy was so electric! and not just for josh and annaleigh there was so much love in the room for everyone it was really beautiful
josh and annaleigh were, as always, on point but they were also just giving it their absolute ALL. final sequence was absolutely insane there was such a sorrow and fury to everything… i did cry
it looked like maria was crying during green finch which is a choice i’ve never seen her make so that made me emotional. ruthie also cried in character but in a place she usually doesn’t cry and that destroyed me
delaney westfall did a very funny “NOOOO” instead of her usual gasp during pirelli’s miracle elixir
nik chris was going the fuck off he brought the house down as pirelli as usual but he had such an intensity that night it was making me cry with laughter
after killing pirelli sweeney let out this like little pathetic heartbroken cry and josh usually does that but this one was the saddest noise i’d ever heard
right before pretty women when lovett is bringing toby into her back parlor annaleigh and daniel knocked the bench over and annaleigh had to fix it in character and it was hilarious and the audience ate it up
josh and annaleigh’s last a little priest… so funny so ridiculous annaleigh got on all fours and just moaned at one point and it made josh genuinely actually break which made her break. it was very sweet and the audience picked up on it and loved it
when sweeney and lovett kiss in by the sea people genuinely cheered and hooted and hollered it was so funny and Real
john rapson and annaleigh were going HAM during parlor songs. funniest they’ve ever been
josh’s final “BENJAMIN BARKER” was insane. and so hot
i just need to say it again again the final sequence from the minute anthony and johanna arrive at the shop to when sweeney dies it was just perfect. everyone broke my heart. it was so human.
jo shouts “NO” when she runs in on toby killing sweeney and i’m gonna be thinking about that choice for a very long time. maria was cooking with that.
also just wanna shout out daniel marconi! his physical intensity was insane. this was only my second time seeing him and ugh i really love his toby i’m so sad he’s leaving soon. he plays toby with a little limp and leans into the disabled young man characterization toby usually gets but does it with so much dignity.
ok parasocial corner time
when i tell you the entire ensemble was weeping during josh and annaleigh’s speeches… you can see in the video the sweeney insta posted that 3 of them are crying but it was truly the entire ensemble. i went back and watched my own video and it was just so moving to see the respect and love on display. there’s soooo much love in that company and you can really feel that in the bones of this production.
ruthie was running around taking pictures of josh and annaleigh during their final bows like a mom and it was so cute. love her
overall just so grateful i got to watch this production with this cast and make some wonderful friends through it :’)
#sweeney todd#2023 revival#.txt#❣️#i have so much more to say but it’s rlly just all variations of IT WAS SOOO GOOD so i’ll leave y’all with that#also i saved as many of the farewell posts to josh and annaleigh i could and they all make me cry. i’ll probably post some if ppl want#josh groban#annaleigh ashford

Does anyone have these Sweeney Todd videos? I want these so bad. I'm desperate for them.
Sweeney Todd
Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd), Annaleigh Ashford (Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Daniel Marconi (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Nicholas Christopher (Adolfo Pirelli)
January 14, 2024 | Broadway | Video |
*Another master has a much better capture of this performance. Pls check her out! theriddletrades.weebly.com*
Josh and Annaleigh's final performance
Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd), Annaleigh Ashford (Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Gaten Matarazzo (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), DeLaney Westfall (u/s Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Raymond J.Lee (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
October 19, 2023 | Broadway | Video |
Whole show shot from center front orchestra, nicely captured. Two dropouts for a short time.
I love Josh's Sweeney! His voice is exquisite. A sentimental Todd, leaning to the human side. A clever interpretation for him in the role.
Good chemistry with Annaleigh! I love all duet from them, especially A Little Priest. By the Sea was really fun, Josh's desperate face lol!
Nicholas Christopher (s/b Sweeney Todd), Jeanna de Waal (s/b Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Gaten Matarazzo (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Daniel Torres (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
October 25, 2023 | Broadway, Matinee | Video |
Whole show shot from center front orchestra. Great view, a head in the front that was worked around. Three dropouts that last few minutes.
Seeing Nicholas close to stage gave me chills. A very revengeful Todd. All his face expressions, and the sweat that dripped from his forehead...Insane.
If Annaleigh appeals more to the comedic side of Lovett, Jeanna shows the character's dark side well. A real partner in crime.
Aaron Tveit (Sweeney Todd), Sutton Foster (Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Joe Locke (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Daniel Torres (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
February 9, 2024 | Broadway | Video |
New duo in town. Aaron and Sutton's debut! Electrifying audience. Includes curtain call.
No good footage for the first 25 min due to usher activity, until the end of My Friends. After that, the capture is fine.
Shot from left orchestra. A head on the right side that sometimes blocked the view, but nothing serious that lasted long.
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Third Broadway Revival)
Nicholas Christopher (s/b Sweeney Todd), Annaleigh Ashford (Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Gaten Matarazzo (Tobias Ragg), Jeanna de Waal (s/b Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Raymond J.Lee (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
September 13, 2023 | Broadway, Matinee | Video | $7
Whole show shot from mezzanine, some heads in front of me so there are blockings from time to time.
This cast is wonderful! The revival is worthy of the Tony nominations for lighting and choreography.
Nicholas suits the role well! Annaleigh's comedic talent shines. Gaten impresses me, and Raymond is so funny as Pirelli.
Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd), Annaleigh Ashford (Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Gaten Matarazzo (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), DeLaney Westfall (u/s Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Raymond J.Lee (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)

Nathan Salstone (u/s Anthony Hope), Felix Torrez-Ponce (u/s Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Nicholas Christopher (Adolfo Pirelli)
November 8, 2023 | Broadway, Matinee | Video |
Whole show shot from right mezzanine. Act II had several major blackouts because of usher movements. Main parts affected are Lovett and Toby's part.
Josh really knows how to effectively use his voice to express emotions, and his acting improved compared to months ago.
First time catching understudies for Anthony and Toby. Both boys are amazing!
Paul-Jordan Jansen (u/s Sweeney Todd), Annaleigh Ashford (Mrs. Lovett)
Felix Torrez-Ponce (u/s Anthony Hope), Nathan Salstone (u/s Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Nicholas Christopher (Adolfo Pirelli)
November 15, 2023 | Broadway | Video |
Whole show shot from left mezzanine, one of my best capture. A head in the bottom right occasionally that was worked around well.
Paul! What a super baritone! He is a master in employing his voice to show the broken and vulnerable side of this character.
Through his acting you can clearly see how this modest man became desperate. His interaction with Annaleigh is very lovable as well.
Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd), Annaleigh Ashford (Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Daniel Marconi (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Nicholas Christopher (Adolfo Pirelli)
January 14, 2024 | Broadway | Video |
*Another master has a much better capture of this performance. Pls check her out! theriddletrades.weebly.com*
Josh and Annaleigh's final performance. The audience was lit.
Shot from front orchestra. Unfortunately heads on both sides especially blocking stage right, where several Lovett's scenes located (Worst Pies in London, By the Sea, etc). But when the performers came to the center stage, the capture is good.
Annaleigh accidentally knocked down a bench when taking Toby to the back parlor. Several funny parts lasted for a long time because of continuous cheering. Josh almost break several times which was fun. Includes curtain call, speeches, and countless hugs.
Nicholas Christopher (s/b Sweeney Todd), DeLaney Westfall (u/s Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Daniel Marconi (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Daniel Torres (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
January 20, 2024 | Broadway, Matinee | Video |
Great capture of DeLaney as Mrs.Lovett! Whole show shot from mezzanine, a head appeared at the bottom sometimes that I filmed around.
Nick and Delaney have wonderful chemistry. They came up with an acting choice that was so hilarious during A Little Priest.
Also I cannot praise Daniel Marconi enough, my fav Toby. He had so many facial expressions and small movements that made this character convincing.
Paul-Jordan Jansen (u/s Sweeney Todd), Jeanna de Waal (s/b Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Daniel Marconi (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Daniel Torres (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
January 28, 2024 | Broadway | Partial Video
Daniel Marconi's final performance of Tobias. Highlights of Toby, with a few Todd and Lovett scenes.
Act I includes Pirelli's Elixir, Wait, Pretty Woman, Epiphany. Act II includes By the Sea, Not While I Am Around, Parlor Song, Finale.
Shot from different angles. An hour in total.
Nicholas Christopher (s/b Sweeney Todd), DeLaney Westfall (u/s Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Joe Locke (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Mia Pinero (u/s Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Daniel Torres (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
February 7, 2024 | Broadway, Matinee | Partial Video |
No footage for the first hour, starts from the scene that Todd choked Pirelli. Excellent view though, shot from right orchestra without blocking.
DeLaney had this magic to bring out the adorable side of Nick's Todd which was so fun to see. My personal fav understudy pair.
Aaron Tveit (Sweeney Todd), Sutton Foster (Mrs. Lovett)
Nathan Salstone (u/s Anthony Hope), Joe Locke (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Raymond J. Lee (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
February 14, 2024 | Broadway, Matinee | Video |
Whole show shot from center orchestra. A head on the left that blocks a bit of stage right.
Aaron's acting is great. Epiphany is apparently the breakdown point of his Todd.
Nathan gave a brilliant performance, the acting shines! A natural Anthony to me. Also Ray's final week in the show. I adore his Pirelli.
A funny tech issue during this performance: After the throat slit, the trap door under Todd's chair didn't open, so the judge had to stand up and crawl aside.
Aaron Tveit (Sweeney Todd), Sutton Foster (Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Joe Locke (Tobias Ragg), Jeanna de Waal (s/b Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Michael Kuhn (u/s Adolfo Pirelli)
February 28, 2024 | Broadway, Matinee | Video |
Whole show shot from right orchestra. A head in the front that comes into the view sometimes, but overall a nice capture.
Due to popular demand, I tried my best to focus on Aaron and Joe more than the others in this one. Hope the fandoms are happy lol!
Aaron Tveit (Sweeney Todd), Sutton Foster (Mrs. Lovett)
Felix Torrez-Ponce (u/s Anthony Hope), Joe Locke (Tobias Ragg), Jeanna de Waal (s/b Beggar Woman), Mia Pinero (u/s Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Nicholas Christopher (Adolfo Pirelli)
March 8, 2024 | Broadway | Video |
Whole show shot from left orchestra. A head in the bottom of the screen sometimes that doesn't affect watching.
Felix has such a warm tone. I can listen to him sing all day. Also one of Joe's best I have seen
Aaron Tveit (Sweeney Todd), Sutton Foster (Mrs. Lovett)
Daniel Yearwood (Anthony Hope), Joe Locke (Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), Jonathan Christopher (u/s Beadle Bamford), Nicholas Christopher (Adolfo Pirelli)
March 13, 2024 | Broadway | Video |
Whole show shot from center rear orchestra. Perfect view, no blocking, having both wide-shot and close-ups.
This is the first evening show after the official announce of closing. Very enthusiastic audience. The performers are also in their best.
Aaron broke a little bit in both A Little Priest and By the Sea. Jonathan was the gayest Beadle I've ever seen lol!
Aaron Tveit (Sweeney Todd), Sutton Foster (Mrs. Lovett)
Nathan Salstone (u/s Anthony Hope), Felix Torrez-Ponce (u/s Tobias Ragg), Ruthie Ann Miles (Beggar Woman), Maria Bilbao (Johanna)
Jamie Jackson (Judge Turpin), John Rapson (Beadle Bamford), Nicholas Christopher (Adolfo Pirelli)
March 20, 2024 | Broadway | Video | (For my own record. Pls email if interested)
Whole show shot from different angles. Focused more on Anthony and Toby.
Went to catch my fav boys. I adore Felix's gentleness in every character he plays. His final bakehouse scene is so different yet amazing. The other actors I saw were mostly in panic, while his comparatively calm and cold acting showed sarcasm and tragedy so well.
I want these so bad.

Rossini', Ente Olivieri - Biblioteca e Musei Oliveriani, Liceo Scientifico, Musicale e Coreutico G. Marconi, CIMP Concorso Internazionale Musicale Città di Pesaro, Museo Officine Benelli, Cooperativa Teatro Skenè. #notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article
