I have a strong desire to make a Kindergarten x The Adventures of Captain Wrongel crossover

I have to channel the impulses of my hyperfixation somewhere.

I have the following ideas:

Wrongel: honestly… There's a problem here. I REALLY don't know who would be suitable for his role. I'm waiting for tips from people who have watched this cartoon. Although it could well have been Billy, it's questionable.

Lom: Ron. It seems to me that his fanon character is suitable for this. (Don't we all portray him the same in the fandom?)

Fuchs: Ted or Ozzy. It depends on whether it's AU for Kindergarten (Ted is best suited for this role) or for BRev (Theodore is no longer the same, and Ozzy is close in character).

Archibald Dandy: Felix. It suits his manners, especially considering Britain as the most likely place of action. (And according to my old headcounts, Felix's middle name was Archibalt, so it all matched up).

Giulico Banditto and De La Voro Gangsteritto: Jerome and Carla. I can't help but imagine them as partners in crime. I haven't decided who is who, but it's probably in that order, given Gangsteritto's habit of swearing a lot in Italian, which I think suits Carla and her Spanish.

Agent 00X: So, he's blond, smiles a lot, chases bandits, wears a lot of devices, and has died and risen at least once. I don't even know who would be suitable for this role. It's definitely not a Penny, they're so different...

Mafia Chief: I won't say anything here.

This idea will be fresh until the hyperfixation on this cartoon goes away. By the way, if anyone knows him and wants to make fan art, I'll be glad.

By the way, this cartoon may be familiar to you because it belongs to the same people who made Treasure Island.

Some illustrations by the cartoonist and art director Radna Sakhaltuev for an edition of Adventures of Captain Vrungel using the cartoon designs, I don’t know the date in which this was released.

Though the latter was made up for the cartoon, both he and Banditto had become so beloved in the series they pretty much had to include them in this edition of the book, so they show up in illustrations throughout in the background or standing in for one-off antagonistic characters:

Not a big fan of Fuchs’s design here, but he’s still very cute, such as in this depiction of the Equator-crossing ceremony:

Lom looks much less uncanny, though, which is great, but this picture of him with chiseled abs feels very weird lol:

The figure on the right is probably meant to be Admiral Kusaki, the book’s antagonist who wasn’t included in the show, since this character shows up throughout the art, so this is the closest thing to an official design for him:

If you want to find the rest of these images, I have to warn you in advance that some of the illustrations, particularly in two chapters that were removed for the English translation, are very racist in how they depict indigenous people (and boy am I glad it didn’t pop up in the show), though strangely the text itself, which would’ve been written some 50 years before these illustrations were made, is not quite so terrible and I’m sure it was pretty nice for the 30’s, but that just makes these artworks baffling for how outdated they are in comparison, like, how do you do that…

I got some random questions to ask relating to Vrungel:

1. What inspired you to set your AU in the late 50’s rather than the late 30’s as in the book and show (though the latter certainly uses a lot of anachronisms for comedic effect)?

2. Also, what inspired you to develop your AU in the first place?

3. Who is your favorite character(s) from the book and/or show?

4. Did you know a developer called Action Forms was gonna make a sequel game to the show after they made their game of Treasure Island 1988, but it got cancelled and there’s only a few clips and screenshots of its existence left? Seeing the characters in 3D feels weird but it wasn’t the worst conversion I’ve ever seen.

1) I wanted it to be after Stalin's death and after WW2. I feel like that's an underappreciated time in history.

2) When I was coming up with it, I based my characters off my friends versions of the characters, and adjusted the events to more match what they would do in those scenarios. Basically, I played "telephone" with character concepts.

3) In the book, I'd probably say Archibald Dandy. Dude really just got into a fight, got into a race, got into another fight, and then dipped lmao. In the show, definitely Fuchs. He's just a poor lil meow meow and he's doing his best.
