Miles had a very long day.

He didn’t hesitate to hang when Pav asked if he’s free. And now miles is content in Pav’s arms, it is warm, comfortable and a really perfect day all around.. making him wanna fall asleep right in his arms-.

“Hey, do you hear that?” Pav asked, parting the hug to sit up and look around.

“Hear what?” Miles asked, looking around himself. “Just this… rumbling noise.” He said, now shrugging his shoulders. “Must be the traffic.” Pavitr said, dragging miles back down to cuddle with the Afro-Latino.

Not complaining about the action miles sighed and snuggle in Pav’s arms even more… before said Indian bolted upward with miles landing beside the Indian. “There it is again!” He says looking around the room more.

“There’s what?” He asked, rubbing his head, fingers peaking through the fro. Pav pecked miles on the forehead before looking out the window. “That rumbling sound, was it an old auto-riksha?”

“…can it be loud or..?” Miles asked, trailing his words as Pav kept looking out the window, searching for the noise miles didn’t really hear.

“No, not technically… maybe if I ignore it?” He wondered. Miles shrugged, stretching his arms out to the Indian boy. Pav smiled fondly at the Afro-Latino and laid back down on his bed, back to snuggling his morales.

He tried ignoring the noise, but it kept going! The longer Pavitr prabkar listens… the more soothing the rumbling noise actually becomes. ‘Sounds like a cat purr.’ He thought with a smile and continues to listen.

After some time he got thirsty. He propped his head up, turned to grab the water from his bedside table… and stopped. The quiet rumble is dim.

‘Aww… I actually like it.’ Pav thought, laying back down to pout.. when the noise became loud again. With a content sigh he pulled miles in to hug him more…

The sound had gotten louder.

Confused he sat up, leaned his head against miles chest to confirm his theory… that rumbling! And it’s coming from miles!!

With his eyes widened at the discovery, he sat upright, while miles looks at Pav tired and confused as he saw the Indian smiling wide and his eyes full of stars. “Pav? What’s going on?” He asked groggily.

“You! My sunflower, are purring!” He told the latter happily. “Wha..? How does that *yawn* make sense?” He asked, still waking up from his not so sleepy nap.

“Well studies show that spiders can purr and you are proof!!” He says excitedly to the tired spider-man, who blinked in tired confusion. “Isn’t it huntsmen spiders though?” Miles asked.

“Yeah… but still.” Pav said, staring intensely at miles. “… you saying I can purr?” “Yes!” Pav answered, not missing a beat when he said that to miles. “Nah man, I ain’t believing another lie.”

At that, Pavitr frowned, eyebrows furrowed. Then smirked when an idea popped in his head. “Alright, bet.” He says, immediately pulling miles in a tight but grounding hug, fingers combing through the Afro-Latino’s fro.

Miles wasn’t sure what to make of this, but he ain’t complaining in the slightest. A hug and fingers combing through his hair? He really is trying.

‘All an effort to prove me wrong? Yeah right... it’s comforting though.’ He thought, closing his eyes.

The warmth from Pavitr’s hug, how grounded he felt from said hug and the feeling of his hair being combed through, it all feels so nice-. Miles eyes shot opened after hearing the sound himself.

The vibrating muscles around his throat area surprised him, then encountered by the passing air as he tested the waters of this new thing he can do.

“You didn’t know did you?” Pavitr asked, chuckling a bit at his boyfriend’s expression. “…no, just… new.” Miles mumbled, burying his head in Pav’s chest.

“Embarrassed?” The Indian spider-man asked. “Very.” Miles answered, his face blushing red, when Pav aww’d his face got an even darker shade of red. “Mets go back t’ uddling k?” Miles asked, voice muffled.

“Alright, mera pyaar (my love).” Pavitr said, lying back down with miles in his arms, continuing to comb through the Afro- Latino’s hair.

When he did that he can hear miles’ purring, even though the resident 1610 Spider-Man looks like he’ll never forgive Pav for the discovery any time soon. “Y’know I’m gonna tell, right?” Pav says, arching his brow.

“Tell the others and I will web your mouth shut.” Miles warned.

That whole sentence got a laugh out of Pavitr Prabhakar.

In all seriousness, I'm not an election forecaster or statistician in any capacity so I can't say how this'll Affect The Election but in my view, it's not gonna be much. The sympathy vote is not really a thing anymore, it hasn't been a thing since Dubya so I'm not concerned about that. I don't think it's gonna move actual undecideds one way or another, and people who are already committed to one party aren't going to be swayed in a new direction either because polarization is simply too entrenched in political parties these days. And he can't do much "look how I'm ailing" shit because his ear got grazed and that is literally it. Not to mention the election is five months away, which in politics is the equivalent to like ten million years. Remember when Joe Biden had that bad debate performance that sent everyone into a tailspin for no reason? That was two weeks ago, but it feels like a decade, because news cycles, especially in politics, go really fast. Last month we were literally still talking about the impact of the college protests on the election. Yeah I bet you already forgot about those, didn't you?

The only thing that really concerns me is that his base is already violent and whacked out of their minds, and they'll use this, and any hysteria he and his allies drum up about it because they're incapable of not doing so, to promote more violence against people they perceive as enemies. And we know they're already capable, because one of them literally tried to beat Paul Pelosi to death with a hammer (another point in the 'sympathy vote doesn't exist' column because did that man trying to break into Nancy Pelosi's home to kidnap and torture her before trying to kill her husband when she wasn't around sway anyone to be more in favor of Democrats/less in favor of Republicans? no, it didn't), so I wouldn't be shocked if some idiot tried something in retaliation. Which is cause for concern, yes, because it is always important to remember that Republicans as a whole are violent and bloodthirsty and do not see their opponents as people (and that is just another example of why both parties are NOT in fact the same, tankies), but use that to galvanize you into working as hard as you can to get Dems in office and support Democratic policies and platforms and officials.

Ultimately anon, I am not someone who catastrophizes, and I also know that I can only control me and you can only control you. So just remember to focus on what you can do and how you react to things. And if you need to log off, log off. Keep your peace, and ultimately, I think just remember that this all seems new and exciting and insane because it's fresh and happening now, but we also felt the same about that time he got COVID.
