10 Jewish Women from History Part 4
Roza Papo (1914-1984, Yugoslavia)
A physician and general of the Yugoslav People's Army, and the first woman to rise to rank of general on the Balkan Peninsula. Born to a Sephardi Jewish family in Sarajevo, she studied at the School of Medicine in Zagreb and worked as a physician. In 1941, after the invasion of Yugoslavia, she made contact with several resistance groups. She had the rank of officer, captain, and major. After the war, she continued her career as a physician in the army, and became the first head of the Military Medical Academy, formulating the first criteria for the selection of military physicians. She published over 50 papers, is credited with introducing new diagnostic methods, and has received six medals for her contributions. In 1973, she was promoted to the rank of major general, the first woman general in all the Balkans.
Fira Benenson (1898-1977, America)
A Russian born fashion designer and dressmaker who grew up in Baku, Saint Petersburg, London, Paris, and New York City. After her family fortune took a hit in the Great Depression and Wall Street Crash of 1929, she opened a dress shop in NYC and began to gain a reputation in the fashion industry. She worked with Bonwit Teller, until she created her own company focused on simple but elegant clothing that women could wear throughout their daily routines. She worked with Princess Grace of Monaco and Pat Nixon, and designed many clothes for women over forty.
Lilli Henoch (1899-1942, Germany)
Born in Konigsberg, East Prussia, she and her family moved to Berlin. She was a track and field athlete who set four world records and won 10 German national championships in four different disciplines. She participated and set world records in the discus, the shot put, and the four by one hundred meters relay. After 1933, she and other Jews were forced to leave the BSC by race laws, so she joined the Jewish Gymnastics and Sports Club 1905, where she played team handball. She also worked as a gymnastics teacher. She was entered into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1990, and was honored with a Stolperstein in Berlin in 2008.
Lily Krongerber (1890-1975, Hungary)
A Hungarian figure skater born in Budapest, she was Hungary's first World Champion. She won two bronze medals and four gold medals in the World Championships, and participated in the first official one in 1906. She was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1983, and the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1997.
Adlene Harrison (1923-2022, America)
An American politician and the first Jewish woman to serve as Mayor of a major U.S. city, as well as Dallas's first Jewish mayor and first female mayor.
Ida Silverman (1882-1973)
A Jewish philanthropist who helped co-found approximately 100 synagogues. She is the only woman to have served as VP of the Zionist Organization of America and the American Jewish Congress. Born in Kovno, Russia, her family emigrated to the US when she was an infant. She was honored as Jewish Mother of the Year in 1951, and Rhode Island mother of the year in 1954. She has both a forest and a village in Israel named after her. She and her husband were jointly inducted into the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame in 1971.
Rachel, Countess d'Avigdor (1816-1896, England)
A philanthropist and communal worker, she was privately educated by some of the most eminent teachers of the time. She was involved in communal institutions, including Jewish owned businesses, and was also a signatory of the firsts mass petition in Britain for women to vote.
Sara (200 CE ~ 600 CE, Roman Empire)
A Roman convert to Judaism buried within the Jewish catacombs of Rome. Also known as Veturia Paulla. She was honored as the mother of several synagogues.
Yalta (Period of Babylonian Talmud)
One of the few women named in the Babylonian Talmud, and wife of Rav Nachman, who was a sage from around 250 CE. The second most mentioned women in the Talmud, she is described as breaking 400 jugs of wine after a guest offended her and womenkind. She also offers her husband counsel, and was able to come up with non-kosher food that tasted the same as kosher food.
Helena of Adiabene (?-50/56 CE, Parthian Empire)
Queen mother of Adiabene, a vassal state of the Parthian Empire. She converted to Judaism around the year 30 CE, and was known for her generosity. Her strictness of keeping to the mitzvot was mentioned in the Talmud.

Have any Vice Presidents later run for Governor or other office besides President after their terms?
Yes. Not counting those who served as President or ran for President following their time as Vice President, or the seven Vice Presidents who died in office (George Clinton, Elbridge Gerry, William R. King, Henry Wilson, Thomas A. Hendricks, Garret Hobart, and James S. Sherman), here are the VPs who sought other offices post-Vice Presidency:
•Aaron Burr (1801-1805): Lost race for Governor of New York in 1804 during his Vice Presidency. •Daniel D. Tompkins (1817-1825): Lost race for Governor of New York in 1820 during his Vice Presidency. •John C. Calhoun (1825-1832): Resigned the Vice Presidency to join in the U.S. Senate from South Carolina (1832-1843); Served as Secretary of State (1844-1845) in the last stretch of the Tyler Administration; Elected again to the U.S. Senate from South Carolina (1845-1850) after serving as Secretary of State.
•Richard M. Johnson (1837-1841): Lost race for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky in 1842; Served two separate terms in the Kentucky House of Representatives (1841-1843; 1850) after his Vice Presidency. Died two weeks into his second post-Vice Presidential term in the state legislature.
•John Tyler (1841): After serving as Vice President and President, and following Virginia's secession from the Union in 1861, Tyler was elected as a delegate to the Provisional Confederate Congress. Tyler was also elected to a full term in the Confederate House of Representatives but died just before taking his seat in February 1862.
•George M. Dallas (1845-1849): Appointed U.S. Minister to Great Britain (1856-1861) by President Pierce and served under Presidents Pierce and Buchanan before being replaced early in the Lincoln Administration.
•John C. Breckinridge (1857-1861): Elected to a U.S. Senate seat from Kentucky while still Vice President. After administering the oath of office to his successor as Vice President, Hannibal Hamlin, Breckinridge was immediately sworn into the Senate by Hamlin. Although Kentucky remained neutral during the Civil War, Breckinridge supported the Confederacy and joined the Confederate military while still a sitting Senator, resulting in treason charges in November 1861 and, a month later, unanimous expulsion from the Senate. Breckinridge became a general in the Confederate Army and served as Confederate President Jefferson Davis's final Secretary of War.
•Hannibal Hamlin (1861-1865): Briefly served as Collector of the Port of Boston (1865-1866) after being appointed by President Andrew Johnson. Elected U.S. Senator from Maine (1869-1881). Served as U.S. Ambassador to Spain (1881-1882) under Presidents Garfield and Arthur.
•Andrew Johnson (1865): After his brief Vice Presidency and nearly four years as President, Johnson lost races for the U.S. Senate (1869) and U.S. House of Representatives in Tennessee. Elected as U.S. Senator from Tennessee in 1875 and died in office.
•William A. Wheeler (1877-1881): Wheeler was considered as a candidate for the U.S. Senate from New York on several occasions following his Vice Presidency but never made a serious bid for election.
•Levi P. Morton (1889-1893): Served as Governor of New York (1895-1896).
•Adlai E. Stevenson (1893-1897): Lost race for Governor of Illinois in 1908.
•Charles W. Fairbanks (1905-1909): Fairbanks was the Republican nominee for Vice President on a ticket alongside Presidential nominee Charles Evans Hughes in 1916 but they lost to incumbent President Woodrow Wilson and Vice President Thomas R. Marshall.
•Charles G. Dawes (1925-1929): Served as U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain (1929-1931), appointed by President Hoover.
•Henry A. Wallace (1941-1945): After being dumped as Vice President in favor of Harry Truman when Franklin D. Roosevelt ran for a fourth term in 1944, FDR appointed Wallace Secretary of Commerce where he served from 1945-1946 under Roosevelt and Truman
•Alben W. Barkley (1949-1953): Elected to the U.S. Senate from Kentucky after his Vice Presidency and served from 1955 until dying in office in 1956.
•Richard Nixon (1953-1961): After losing his first bid for the White House in 1960, Nixon also lost a race for Governor of California in 1962 after leaving the Vice Presidency before making a remarkable comeback to win the Presidency in 1968.
•Hubert H. Humphrey (1965-1969): Elected to his former seat in the U.S. Senate from Minnesota and served until dying in office (1971-1978).
•Walter Mondale (1977-1981): U.S. Ambassador to Japan (1993-1996), appointed by President Clinton. In 2002, Mondale lost a race for U.S. Senate from Minnesota when he was the last-minute replacement on the ballot after Senator Paul Wellstone was killed in a plane crash.

Modern Bridgerton AU
Daphne & Simon
Daphne is a typical upper class NYC society girl whose goal is to marry money and spend her life as a stay-at-home mom who brunches and plans fundraisers. She goes to a small, but well-respected liberal arts college (like Swarthmore) and gets a degree in an unemployable but respectable subject (like English Literature or French).
Simon has recently inherited his father’s venture capital firm, only to discover the company is facing a PR crisis after his father’s not entirely ethical investment practices have come to light. And his personal reputation isn’t helping. Simon wants to sell the company so he can move onto other pursuits (probably spending his trust fund on drunken antics anywhere other than New York), but he can’t with all the current negative media attention.
Daphne hears about the situation from her brother, and when she runs into Simon at the next social function, she proposes a deal: They pretend to date. He gets a PR boost from being connected to the Bridgerton family and looking more stable in his personal life, and she gets to piss off her older brother (Anthony) by dating his best friend.
Not long into their arrangement, Daphne organizes a charity tennis tournament. Anthony is pissed that his best friend is dating his sister, who is 8 years younger than them, and challenges Simon to a doubles match. Simon asks their mutual friend Will Mondrich to be his partner - Simon is actually a pretty terrible tennis player, but Will played in college. Anthony drags Benedict in to be his partner - Benedict also isn’t thrilled about Daphne dating a guy 8 years older than her, but knows better than to do anything about it (“Dude, you’re actually gonna do this? You know how hard she hits.”), so he’s only half in it. Colin and Daphne are watching from the slide. Colin can’t stop laughing, and Daphne is about to murder someone.
The boys get it out of their system and come to a tenuous peace, with Simon promising Anthony he has dropped his playboy ways. But Simon doesn't actually have any intentions to get married, even after he’s maybe (but like probably not?) starting to fall in love with Daphne. She finds out about his plans to sell the company and leave New York and is PISSED. She might be willing to never actually get married (look, she really likes him), but she doesn't want to leave her family, and FOR SURE doesn't want to do long distance. Simon doesn't understand what the big deal with long distance is.
Everyone in New York thinks they have some picture perfect relationship, but Daphne is starting to see cracks and feel the pressure. It leads her to pick a fight with Simon, who goes on a business trip to Dallas (Chicago? Denver? Look, he’s not in New York, does it matter where he goes?) to look at this other company he's thinking about buying, and he hates everything about the 2 weeks he's gone because Daphne’s not there. He gets back and they make up. They’re engaged 6 months later.
Once they get married, there’s some disagreement on where they’ll live - Daphne wants to stay close, but Simon wants some distance from the Upper East Side and wouldn’t mind getting out of the city. They compromise and move to Park Slope. After a couple of years, they have a couple of kids, and once their children are school aged, Daphne decides she needs something to do that gets her out of the house. Anthony offers to have her come work with him at the family company, making her a VP of some such that she can do part-time.

Anna Merlan at Mother Jones:
In recent days, a number of news sites that rely heavily on aggregation have posted stories about Minnesota governor and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, reporting “allegations” that he sexually assaulted a minor while working as a teacher and football coach. The clearly false claims stem from the prolific work of one man, a Twitter conspiracy peddler who goes by Black Insurrectionist. After previously pushing a lie about a presidential debate “whistleblower,” he’s at it again, and even his clownish mistakes haven’t kept the claims from taking off on Twitter, or being promoted by automated sections of the news ecosystem. Black Insurrectionist, who tweets under the handle @docnetyoutube, is a self-professed MAGA fan who says he’s based in Dallas. He’s paid for his Twitter account, meaning his visibility is boosted on the site; he’s also followed by a number of people in the MAGA and right-leaning fake news spheres, including Donald Trump Jr., dirty tricks specialist and Trump adviser Roger Stone, Pizzagate promoter Liz Crokin, and conspiracy kingpin Alex Jones.
In September, he promoted an obviously fake story about a “whistleblower” at ABC News anonymously claiming the presidential debate hosted by the channel had been biased in favor of Kamala Harris. To back up the claims, he published a purported affidavit by the whistleblower, a poorly formatted and typo-riddled document that, among other things, claimed that Harris had been assured she wouldn’t be questioned about her time as “Attorney General in San Francisco,” a job she never held, as it doesn’t exist. The clumsy story still received immense pickup, including from hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman, who began tweeting at various entities to investigate the claim; Elon Musk also shared some of Ackman’s posts.
Black Insurrectionist (aka “DocNetyoutube”), a fake news-peddling far-right conspiracy theorist X account, was the culprit behind the lurid lie about Kamala Harris VP pick Tim Walz by falsely accusing him of “sexual assault.”

ᴏᴄꜱ - ᴛʜᴇɴ & ɴᴏᴡ
Saw a buncha chooms doin this lil trend and remembered that I had an old draft doing this very thing! Spiffied it up with even newer shots of my babes and it really makes me realize how far both me and my OCs have come :]
March 25, 2022 || June 24, 2023
The shot on the left is legit my very first oc shot in cyberpunk. Id taken some landscape shots before this but this was where the blorbo brainrot started. Vons definitely come the farthest in terms of design, from big beefy maelstrom to like.. wet rat white boy energy I guess lol. She still got a long way to go though, probably gonna be working on her forever, she's my favorite little passion project😌
June 2, 2022 || June 2, 2023
Didn't even realize these were exactly a year apart till I checked the dates!
Luis is basically the exact same as when I first made him, just the perfect design from the moment of creation😌He's the OC that really started my VP journey, I made him just to take pretty pictures of and learn the ropes. Glad I finally have the skills to show off his full beauty!
September 12, 2022 || June 14, 2023
Lynk's design is one that feels both entirely different and very much the same to me. Same overall vibe and style, but more refined I suppose. Less scrungly mess of wires and more sleek and sharp borg. Really love their current design now, still wanna make 'em custom tattoos but it gonna be a while till i'm at that modding level!
December 12, 2022 || June 1, 2023
Dallas was a design first backstory second kinda OC. I love her old design, think all the cyberware and makeup are really cool, but as I fleshed her out it just wasn't Dallas. Found myself in a comfy spot with her now though, even ended up making her her own custom complexion!
December 5, 2022 || July 9, 2023
Technically there's an even farther back design I could use for Sunny but it's so different I can't even consider it him. His old design looks so similar yet so very different its kinda weird😅Sunny's design now is probably the one I'm most content with, I might try and add back his arm tattoos but until then he's pretty much perfect.
December 8, 2022 || April 23, 2023
When I first made Midas my main goal was a dark moody playboy, which definitely stayed the same just in a radically different way. His OG personality was a playful and dramatic womanizer which I loved but I needed a straight man in this group of idiots and he had to be it. So instead he became a mysterious and gruff guy that has ladies falling over him whether he likes it or not, also he's a vampire now.
#cyberpunk 2077#oc: luis vasquez#oc: vrmn#oc: lynk#oc: dallas#oc: sunny taylor#oc: midas#crazy to see how far all of them have come#and fun to imagine how theyll change now that ive dipped my toes into modding

Kamala Harris is within the margin for error in Texas.
Read that again. Texas might become a swing state this election cycle. Texas has hinted about going blue due to influx of people from other places moving to Dallas and Austin.
Trump 53.3% to Harris 46.6% with a margin of error of 4.9. The difference is within the margin of error…in Texas!
Trump is on the decline. His campaign is falling apart from his ridiculous VP choice to his bizarre rantings at his Hitler rallies. He’s a horrible candidate and is coming apart at the seams.
These are good tidings. I hope her campaign spends more money in Texas. We Texas leftists need a win and this would be the perfect time.
Cruz is primed for defeat as well.
No Harris is not the perfect candidate but her VP candidate Tim Walz is the real deal—progressive at that high of a position is remarkable. Keep fighting the good fight.

Can Trump run for President?
The U.S. Constitution only lists three necessary qualifications for being president: the candidate must be a "natural born" citizen, at least 35 years old and a resident of U.S. for at least 14 years. There is no requirement that the president not be a convicted felon.
Can Trump pick a VP from Florida?
Article II of the US Constitution states: “The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.”
For Trump to pick a VP from Florida (Rubio, DeSantis) then the VP candidate would have to establish residency in another state.
When Texas Gov. George W. Bush chose Dick Cheney as his running mate on the Republican ticket, Cheney had been living and voting and paying taxes for five years in Texas. Shortly before the election, however, Cheney obtained a Wyoming driver’s license and put his Dallas home on the market. (He had a vacation home in Wyoming, which is the state he had formerly represented in the U.S. Congress.)

USA Dedicated Server: The Ultimate Solution for Your Hosting Needs
In the world of web hosting, having a robust, reliable, and fast server is crucial to ensuring the performance of your website or business. Whether you’re running a large-scale business, an e-commerce platform, or a gaming server, your choice of hosting server plays a vital role in the success of your online presence. If you’re looking for high-performance hosting with complete control and flexibility, a USA Dedicated Server is an excellent choice.
DigiRDP offers an array of hosting solutions, including USA Dedicated Servers and Cloud VPS hosting, to provide the reliability, speed, and scalability you need to run your websites, applications, and more. In this article, we will explore the benefits of choosing a USA Dedicated Server, particularly for those looking for Dallas Budget Servers and Cloud VPS options, to help you make an informed decision about your hosting needs.
What is a USA Dedicated Server?
A USA Dedicated Server is a physical server that is entirely dedicated to hosting your website, application, or service. Unlike shared hosting or virtual private servers (VPS), where multiple users share the same server resources, a dedicated server provides you with exclusive access to all the resources, such as CPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth.
DigiRDP offers premium USA Dedicated Servers, ensuring that businesses of all sizes can enjoy unparalleled performance, security, and uptime. These servers are based in data centers located throughout the United States, providing low-latency connections and fast data transfer speeds for users across the globe.
Why Choose a USA Dedicated Server?
When it comes to hosting your website or applications, the server location can play a significant role in the speed and reliability of your service. Choosing a USA Dedicated Server offers several key benefits:
1. High Performance and Speed
Dedicated servers are built for performance. With all resources reserved for your use, you don’t have to worry about other users affecting your server’s performance. A USA Dedicated Server ensures that your website or application loads quickly, providing a seamless user experience. This is particularly important for businesses that rely on their online presence, such as e-commerce websites or platforms with high traffic volumes.
2. Full Control and Customization
With a dedicated server, you have full control over the server configuration, including the operating system, software, and security settings. This means you can optimize the server for your specific needs, install the software you require, and configure the server exactly how you want it.
DigiRDP’s USA Dedicated Servers give you the freedom to customize everything from the hardware to the operating system, ensuring that your server is tailored to the unique needs of your business.
3. Reliability and Security
Dedicated servers offer superior reliability and security compared to shared hosting or VPS options. Since you’re the only user on the server, you don’t have to worry about other websites causing performance issues or compromising security. Dedicated servers are ideal for handling sensitive data and high-traffic websites that require maximum uptime and protection.
4. Scalability
As your business grows, your hosting needs will evolve. USA Dedicated Servers offer excellent scalability, allowing you to easily upgrade resources such as storage, RAM, or CPU power. DigiRDP provides flexible hosting plans that can grow with your business, making it easy to scale your hosting environment as needed.
Dallas Budget Servers: The Perfect Solution for Cost-Effective Hosting
For businesses on a budget, Dallas Budget Servers are an ideal choice. Dallas is home to some of the best data centers in the United States, providing high-quality infrastructure at competitive prices. DigiRDP’s Dallas Budget Servers offer powerful hardware and reliable performance without the high price tag typically associated with dedicated hosting.
Benefits of Dallas Budget Servers:
Cost-Effective Hosting: Dallas is known for its affordable data center services, and DigiRDP offers Dallas Budget Servers that provide excellent value for money. These servers are ideal for small to medium-sized businesses that require a reliable hosting solution without breaking the bank.
Low Latency for US Traffic: Hosting your server in Dallas ensures that your website or application will have low latency for users in the United States. This leads to faster load times and improved user experience for your American audience.
24/7 Support: DigiRDP offers round-the-clock customer support for its Dallas Budget Servers, ensuring that your hosting environment remains stable and secure at all times. Whether you need technical assistance or have a question about your server configuration, DigiRDP’s expert team is always available to help.
What You Get with DigiRDP’s Dallas Budget Servers:
Affordable pricing without compromising on quality
Reliable performance for small to medium-sized businesses
Expert customer support and management options
High-performance hardware and networking infrastructure
Fast and reliable connectivity for US-based users
Cloud VPS: Scalable and Flexible Hosting
While a USA Dedicated Server offers complete control over your hosting environment, it may not be the best fit for businesses that need more flexibility or are just getting started. In such cases, a Cloud VPS (Virtual Private Server) could be the perfect alternative.
A Cloud VPS offers many of the benefits of a dedicated server but with more scalability and flexibility. Instead of relying on a single physical server, a Cloud VPS leverages the power of multiple virtualized servers. This makes it easier to scale your resources on demand, without the need for physical hardware upgrades.
Benefits of Cloud VPS Hosting:
Scalability: As your business grows, a Dallas Cloud VPS allows you to easily scale your resources, such as storage, CPU power, and RAM, with just a few clicks. This flexibility is ideal for businesses that expect rapid growth or have fluctuating traffic levels.
Cost-Effective: Unlike dedicated servers, you only pay for the resources you use with a Cloud VPS. This can significantly reduce costs, especially for businesses that don’t need a full dedicated server but still require a reliable and secure hosting solution.
Reliability: Cloud VPS hosting ensures high availability because it operates on a network of virtual servers. If one server fails, your data is automatically rerouted to another server in the cloud, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum uptime.
Managed Services: DigiRDP’s Cloud VPS hosting offers fully managed solutions, meaning that all server maintenance, security patches, and updates are handled by their expert team. This allows you to focus on your business while DigiRDP takes care of the technical side of things.

oltre Norimberga
