you will love a man whose heart will slip through your hands like water and you will try to carry him with you. each piece of him tiny bit by bit will pool like mid-day puddles on the path behind you. when you reach where you are going you will find your palms empty the whole of him evaporating. you will spend a lifetime with your hands held open in supplication, chasing rain clouds, praying for the sky to break open once again and this man to pour out. - this is what your love is. a patient dance for the rain. a sweaty march in the sun. a desert. a dead thing your hands cannot let go of.
