tron fic recs??👀

Hi there! I have to preface this by saying I mostly read (and currently write) Sam/Tron (or Rinzler depending on the fic). While I do read a bunch of just general Tron fic, I tend to have a ship I like and stick with it.

I am really enjoying Salvage What You Can by TooManyTeeth, more so the concept then some of the ideas. (I don't ship sam and quorra), but I can get over those for the concept of Rinlzer and Tron being in the same Grid and not the Same People, and Rinlzer finding out he's the 'evil twin' as the tags put it. I'm only on chapter 14, and there have been some moments that have down right broke my heart. Lots and lots of Rinzler angst.

Want some fluff about pre movie Tron and Clu learning swear words?? No Stupid Questions by bowiesinspace is the fic series for you! It's crack (in the since that it's silly, not you know. weird). and Just an all around fun time.

While this one has a bit of of Sam/Tron in it, the pov is Alan and it's not exactly about Sam and Tron, it's about how Alan feels, seeing and being around Tron, and is very very emotional. But also my second favorite fic in the fandom. And that is Mea Culpa by 2019-2020 (EnglishLanguage).

My first favorite fic is by the same author, and that is Genesis. I don't have words for this fic honestly. It's from Sam's POV, and it's about him coming back to a completely empty Grid. There are lines in this fic that literally left me gasping for air. It's almost GEN but there's hints of the fact that there will be something more between Sam and Tron.

I'll be a bit of a silly goose, and plug my own fic here, Whatever Here (That's Left of Me) part one has no shipping besides Lora and Alan, and is about Sam fixing the Grid from the other side of the screen, having a lot of family moments with Alan, Lora and Quorra and talking with Tron. The second part will be about Sam and 'Tron' falling in love. (which knowing me and my writing, means also at least two smut scenes). So if you just want to read part one that is a-okay with me!

Lastly, in this category I am recommending every single one of Solar_Siren's fictober collections. (and one Angstpirl challenge in there as well) There is a lot of different ships in here (Mostly Tron/Yori) and a lot of Uprising stuff. A lot of REALLY good fics in here.

and now the rest of these will all be just Sam/Tron.

for T rated fics,

Sam and Tron going on a first date, and it's not going as well as Sam would like but they have a good time. Falling in Tandem by bowisinspace (I also rec all their fics. they are all very nice. The kudosbot fic??? HUh?? Why am I emotional over a little ai?? *cries*)

Late Onset Digitalism by EnglishLanguage & Lobster_Emoji is not finished, but I really enjoyed this fic, and I don't think it ended on a clif hanger? I only read it the one time though. I still think it was worth the read. another Sam fixing the Grid fics, but with some fun twists.

We Are Pilots by shirozora is a CLASSIC samtron, and just Tron in general, fic. I read this fic once a year and its just. really good. Sam goes back to the Grid to try and see if Kevin left any clues on what he meant by 'Quorra will change the world' and instead finds Tron, and a Grid in chaos. (One small note is that, even though it's rated T there is some smut towards the end.)

E rated Fics:

First two are longer fics where the smut is only a scene or two. Last one is a smutty one shot.

Someone Has To Draw First Blood by dreamlittleyo is another classic. Kevin took Sam to the Grid when he was a kid, and only luck is the reason that Sam didn't go with him that night of the coup. When Sam shows back up as an adult Tron follows him out the Grid, and then they fall in love.

One Miracle at a Time by dreamlittleyo another 'Sam goes back to the Grid' fics. I haven't read this one in a while, but I remember really liking it. I should reread it soon. Maybe I'll do it tonight.

Patience, Sam Flynn by bowiesinspace (how many of their fics have i recced haha). Short one shot, it's very nice, I love the end cause they get very snuggly.

Almost as if the universe said “You’ve had your fun, crazy one, now go be sick” and slammed the door in his face.

Happy Christmas! Now that the holidays are upon I'm desperate for reunion fics set during the 70s/80s to pass the time and enjoy some reading time! Like, I'd love to dig into long-ass fics/series. Can you recommend any?

• The Rumours (@merseydreams). Paul reacts to the "queer rumors" John puts out during the lost weekend. He does so in characteristic fashion: fumbling, hot, sentimental—and successfully.

• Father and Son (@javelinbk). Big favorite. Set in the Brother Dearest AU, where Jim marries Mimi, and John and Paul are step-brothers and secret lovers. In this sequel, they have broken up, but reconnect after Jim dies. Heartbreaking, tense, and romantic—and great supporting roles for Linda and Mike!

• The End (@monkberrymoon). Screenplay-style story set in 1980. John hears that Paul is in New York and going through a tough time, so he decides to pay him a visit.

• Our Version of Events (@javelinbk). John discovers mclennon fan fiction in 1971, and history takes a turn.

• You Will, You Will, You Will (@eveepe). John moves out of the Dakota and reconnects with Paul...and Linda. Hot hot hot, like everything by this writer, who keeps me looking young and fresh

• February in New Orleans (@eveepe). 1975. That trip to New Orleans that never happened. John, May, Linda, Paul, and Paul's porn stache (as seen from a high vantage point).

• i can only speak my mind (@revollver). 1970's. Someone leaks John's diaries to the papers; Paul reads them. Absolutely stunning Paul POV plus John's voice in the diaries—and the two of them making each other who they are. I loved how Paul understood himself through reading.

• Down on the Farm (RosalindBeatrice). Before returning to New York City to begin recording Walls and Bridges, John meets Paul in Nashville to hang out. Set on Sunday, 14 July, 1974 approximately. Wings Paul is feeling himself; John is only human. Hot and light-harted.

He laces his fingers through Eddie’s for a better grip and runs his thumb up and down the edge of Eddie’s hand, slow and rhythmic. “See?” Steve hedges, nodding out at the view. “Not so bad, huh?” Eddie nods and turns his head, an unreadable something behind his expression. “Yeah, it’s not bad at all.” Or, When Robin ends up stuck with summer classes her first year at college, Steve's road trip plans look dead in the water. Enter Eddie Munson, who loves a good road trip.

Ten years later, Louis is the proud owner of Halfway Home Wildlife Refuge. Harry returns to the ranch to escape the perils of his past in London, and though their memories still haunt Louis, he won’t let that deter him from his goals. However, someone has been keeping a close eye on the refuge, and possibly Louis specifically, and Harry’s return may have unleashed more that just old passions. There’s a hunter lurking in the Hills, someone who’s decided they’ve bided their time long enough.

Louis has to get away. The news of his father’s terminal diagnosis, the loss of his job, and the breakup with his girlfriend leads Louis to leave for a life of slower things in the small town of Cedar Hills.

His new neighbor is the Cox Family Apple Farm. Harry Styles, the oldest child of the Cox Family, might just teach him how to live life a little simpler, bake an apple pie, and breathe.

“Of course he is,” Louis said curtly. ***** OR a Northern Exposure AU featuring Louis as the big city doctor, Harry as a natural healer, Niall as a secretive barkeep, Liam and Zayn head over heels for each other but they don't know it and a lot of hurt, comfort and moonshine in between.

Hi anon, wow, that is very specific! It's probably just a similar list to most 70s fix-its, but I'll give you some specific to the house husband years:

I Still Miss Someone by RosalindBeatrice: This is basically exactly what you described - it's a three part series, it's lots of angst and yearning, and some smut. It's so good! Really delves into John's psyche and his life at the Dakota. Definitely check this out if you haven't -- it's the gold standard for John house husband fics!

Bermuda by @scurator: Takes place during John's trip to Bermuda. I thought of it because you said "phone call" years and there's a memorable phone call scene in this! obviously anything by this author is gorgeous!

Something Borrowed Something New by @inspiteallthedanger: John decides to go to Pattie's wedding and the Beatles have a reunion and he and Paul connect. John going back to England after so many years of being away is really poignant.

The Jumper by @merseydreams: During his house husband years, John sees a picture of Denny Laine wearing Paul/John's jumper and he loses it. John's jealous POV in this is so good, especially when he goes to see Wings and it brings up a lot of feelings.

I know you asked for longer fics and these are a bit shorter but these are also so good, and John and Paul seeing each other in NY during the late 70s, definitely will bring up the feelings that you're looking for:

six hours in august by stonedlennon: John bumps into Paul at a gay bar in New York. They try to forget each other. August, 1979.

I Wish I Had a River by @savageandwise: New York City, winter 1978, against his better judgement John goes to Battery Park to meet Paul.

Adventures In Total Honesty by merseydreams: John and Paul both end up at the 1975 Grammy Awards, and at Elton's after party.
