One love triangle/polyship that I've never talked about is from Nanbaka. Samon Gokuu, Rokuriki Daisen, and Liang create a very complicated and delicious love triangle.

Samon, as the head supervisor of Building Five, has the most power in the relationship. Liang absolutely adores Samon as his mentor and inspiration, wanting to make him proud and learn everything that he's willing to teach.

Liang also has great respect for Rokuriki and his unique fighting style, and was genuinely upset and offput to see him under the control of the talisman, so much so that it affected his ability to defend himself.

Meanwhile Rokuriki is also respectful and admiring of Samon, accepting his more merciful, recovery-focused leadership style over Enki's brutality.

Even if you remove the romance and platonize it into a broship, it's still a very fascinating, enriching dynamic that the three of them share together: Rokuriki bringing some fun into their lives while Liang sees Samon as his only chance at ever being rejuvenated and being able to rejoin society.

And Samon feels fulfilled by the respect he receives and seeing the fruits of his leadership through both his guard and his inmate. They're both his apprentices, but in different ways. They're all learning and being fulfilled and training hard and achieving their potential.

It's just so wholesome and healthy. UNTIL you consider that this is an inmate working with two prison guards, one of whom is the other's boss. They might all keep things platonic purely because the power imbalance is too precarious, and getting involved any deeper than that is just a recipe for trouble, because these men all still have their pride. Imagine these intense, tryhard boys all pining for each other and being desperate for a hug or a kiss or a touch, and they have to hold back because all three of those relationships are terribly forbidden: a guard with an inmate or a guard with his superior. Both are a big no.

Daisen-Kofun (5th century)

The tomb of Emperor Nintoku, Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, Japan,

Emperor Nintoku, also known as Ohosazaki no Sumeramikoto was the 16th Emperor of Japan, according to the traditional order of succession.

The most prevalent and recognizable shape among kofuns is the keyhole design. This design resembles, quite literally, a keyhole when viewed from above. The keyhole-shaped kofuns consist of a circular or rectangular portion at one end and a long, narrow, and elevated section that tapers towards the other end.

These kofuns are known as the “zenpo koen fun.” The square part of the keyhole shape (zenpo-bu) serves as the head section. In contrast, the entombed person occupies the round part (koen-bu).

The hori (or moat) is an evacuated area of earth used to make the mound forming a moat.

The grandeur and size of keyhole-shaped kofuns can be awe-inspiring. Among them, we find some truly colossal examples, such as the renowned Daisen Kofun in Osaka, extending over 400 meters (1,300 feet).

These colossal monuments stand as testaments to the power and prestige of the individuals they were built to honor.

Nanbaka Idol AU

I know I posted these a long time ago, but I can't find the old post and @enemyoflactose asked to see my old idol sketches (2017). The outfits are all from either B-Project or UtaPri. I really cannot draw hands.

I organized them into sub units like in B-Project.

For day 10 of the event, I used number 4 from prompt 13 for some of the guards from Nanbaka! It’s such fun to write for these guys and I hope you lovelies enjoy the headcanons!

Do they give out candy or do they eat it all themselves? Favourite candy?

Hajime and Hitoshi wouldn’t pass out candy if it was left up to Hajime. He gets so involved in his work and his little free time is spent on the few hobbies he has and he’s actually probably going to completely forget about Halloween up until he’s reminded by his brother or one of his co-workers. If it wasn’t for Hitoshi, there would be no candy for the trick or treaters. However, Hitoshi really enjoys Halloween, both for the chance to dress up in a cute costume and for the opportunity to see all the little kids in their costumes. Hitoshi makes sure that, if Hajime isn’t working, he helps pass out treats to the kids. Hajime is more likely to give the kids whose costumes he really likes more candy, though Hitoshi scolds him for doing so because all the kids are doing their best and deserve equal treatment.

Kiji doesn’t stay home on Halloween. If he’s not working and has Halloween off, then he’s out and about attending various Halloween parties and having fun on his own. He doesn’t even buy candy for himself because of the havoc it would cause for his skin.

Neither Kenshirou nor Samon celebrate Halloween, so they don’t pass out candy. Both men prefer to work on that day anyway, but if they don’t, then their neighbours have already learned well enough to not even bother with their houses. However, Samon will definitely take advantage of the Halloween sales on candy to pick up some that he’ll bring to the prison to munch on while he does paperwork. He also probably hands out some to the prisoners if they do really well in their training.

The Daisen brothers always argue about this every year. It’s very rare for them all to be working Halloween, and at least one brother will for sure pass out treats. The argument they have every year is always about what kind of treats they’ll be passing out. Youriki insists on handing out anything other than candy, as the most health conscious of the bunch. Kids love apples too, right? Why don’t they pass out apples? Meanwhile, Rokuriki and Kokoriki will argue with him until they’re blue in the face that kids deserve a treat every now and again. Kokoriki suggests canned juices while Rokuriki just wants to give the poor kids candy. They might end up in physical fight-fights over it. They end up giving out apples every year.

Yamato used to be fastidious about either him or his wife handing out candy. He really loves seeing all the kids in their costumes and is super friendly with them. However, as soon as he had a child of his own, making sure she gets to go out trick or treating is the top priority for both Yamato and his wife. It’s a little sad, because his house used to be the one absolutely all decked out for Halloween, with animatronics and blow up decorations and fake tombstones and anything else he could think of that the kids might love.
