hiii your flowerbeasts are amazing!! i looove the way you use colours and shapes, and their designs are so special. are there any specific flowers you were inspired by? also i am in no way comparing you to other artists, your art style is unique, i just wanted to tell you in the best way possible that your flowerbeasts somehow reminded me of the animals in paintings by Maria Prymachenko. she was a ukrainian folk art painter, you should check out her works, i’m sure you’ll like it!

i’d say there was light influence from pansies with their rounded edges and robust colour/pattern variations, i’ve always really loved them since childhood alongside their queer history.

my first flowerbeast art was a pansybeast as well so seemed the most logical step for these guys, you can find it under the flowerbeast tag! (my username is also pansybeast on twitter and would have been the same on here but it’s stuck to a dead account 😔)

i’ve seen prymachenko’s art before and really love it, i need to do a good deep dive sometimes.

i don’t mind you mentioning my work reminds you of hers at all, I’m happy to know as I’m quite influenced by eastern european folk art with my paternal side being hungarian! :)

me, guy who loves gift giving and puts weeks of work into a Christmas Spreadsheet, upon receiving a chorus of "you do really good stockings!!" from my family: >:)

#i do candy w specialized treats for those i know -- my BIL likes sour patch kids my dad likes a certain brand of shortbread cookies #i do some upscale essentials -- hand cream hamd sanitizer sometimes like lighters or lip balm #and then i get each person a couple personalized stocking stuffers. the trick is that theyre Nicer. $15-25 each.#so theyre extra fun little gifts rather than. like. plastic stuff you throw out. i love my mom and all the work she always put into xmas #but stocking were usually dollar store stuff. i have the means to give my family more so i do #tearing my shirt open. crimbas.#carly.txt

Best presents this year are a tie between the Mondo pressing of the Knives Out soundtrack (discontinued) and 4 bottles of my favorite salad dressing (previously thought to be discontinued until 12/25/24). This was a really nice Christmas 🥲

i love spending $170 on christmas gifts for my family. this is not sarcasm i really love giving gifts and im really good at it and im not affectionate in any other way so this is how i show people that i pay attention to them and like them. now i have to get gifts for my friends as a thank you for not letting me put myself in a coma last month ✨👍🏻

#i was also going to be buying a kit of vintage reproduction mens haircare products. but now i wont! saving myself money #and i shall not be buying little wire rimmed glasses or art deco cufflinks or an antique copy of rebecca either! so there #but i got my mom a book nook kit AND a copy of shirley jackson’s memoir bc her birthday is in december so she gets TWO gifts #and i got my sister a necklace with a little pair of scissors because her favorite book is little women and thats a symbol #and i got my dad a vintage van halen shirt that looks like one he had in high school #and i got my grandfather tickets to go see nosferatu with me on xmas day #which my mom said was a great gift bc ‘he doesnt need more Stuff and it will get him out of my house while im trying to make dinner’#im so excited i love giving people little surprises :)
