It’s been a long time since I’ve been proud of a picture I drew and colored.  I hope to make this level of quality art in the future. It may make me sound prideful, but I sometimes just stare at it and be like “Did I actually draw that?”

5 Reasons Why You Should Hate DuckTales (2017) or Frank Angones

№5: Bad Details About The Main Characters - Frank Angones gave some of the main characters some bad details. 

Scrooge - During the show, it is revealed that Scrooge did terrible things that make him look like a bad guy/villain such as the way he treated his enemies when he first met them, trying to turn Christmas into bussiness and replacing all the Christmas gifts with coals. Another bad thing about Scrooge is that he underestimated Dewey in “The Rumble for Ragnarok”.

Mrs. Beakly - Mrs. Beakly’s DT2017 version has an annoying bossy behaviour and she is quite overprotective.

Louie - Louie is the evil triplet in DT2017 and that’s one of his bad details, the next one is how he doesn’t have any best friends of his own and the last one is that he never got into combat and his brothers showed some combat skills/had fights during the show.

Weeby - Webby looked fine in DT2017 until I noticed how rude and violent she is. But nothing is bad as her origin in DT2017. In other words, her original version is way better.

Della - The only thing I disliked about Della in DT2017 was the way she treated Louie in “Glomtales”, the way she punished Louie looked more like cruelty/torture. Of course Louie almost killed his family by causing disturbance in the time and space continuum but was this punishment right? Anyway, I would never stay mad at Della.

Donald, Launchpad, Huey and Dewey are fine/cool.

№4: Lack of Good Story Details after Season 1 

Season 2 - It would’ve been better if in the end of “Moonvasion” Lunaris’ ship crashed on Earth and after gets out, he vows to have revenge on Della and her family but he gets killed by Mr. Duck. After that Mr. Duck goes back to his base and talks Webby’s parents and Poe De Spell about revealing themselves to the McDuck Family soon.

Season 3 - “The Escape from The Imposibin” would’ve been better if instead of Scrooge pulling a security on his Money Bin he called S.H.U.S.H. for help and Webby was training Huey and Dewey how to fight instead of making them always be on guard. It would’ve been even cooler if there was an episode where Della befriends Fenton’s mother. Also Daisy should’ve been a S.H.U.S.H. agent because it’s a reference to The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Episode: Secret Spy Daisy. Also I think another one of Donald’s cousins should’ve appeared like Moby Duck or Gus Goose. However the worst DT2017 episode is “The Last Adventure” , I would’ve prefer Webby’s parents being dead or Pepper being Webby’s mother instead of Webby being a clone of Scrooge McDuck and April Duck, something that was NEVER MENT TO HAPPEN.

№3: No Variety - Frank Angones has no taste for variety, instead of making a variety of family moments, action moments, adventuring moments, comedy moments and romantic moments. He decided to milk the family subject until it gets annoying and it happened. The adventures and action were good but I’m sure the whole fandom wants more of them. But Frank really should’ve added more romance, canonize a ship like Debbigail. DuckTales (2017) had DonDaisy, Scroldie and Fendra but we see DonDaisy everywhere, as for Scroldie and Fendra, they’re from the original DuckTales and they’re not enough. The whole Fandom wanted a Webby Ship canonized and I’m sure that some people still do.

№2: Neglecting Certain Characters - Frank Angones neglected certain DT2017 characters and here’s who they are and why there are here.

Huey - Huey should’ve got a complete arc in Season 3 like how Dewey got his in Season 1 and Louie in Season 2. Huey spend less time with Webby on screen which killed Huebby’s chances for getting canonized. He should’ve also got an artifact as hears the words “It may not be (something Huey wants), but it is something special.”

Louie - Louie didn’t got any best friends like Huey, Dewey and Webby. Huey has Fenton/Gizmoduck and B.O.Y.D., Dewey got Launchpad and Gosalyn, Webby got Lena and Violet (Goldie doesn’t count because she will marry Scrooge someday). Another bad thing is that he never got into combat and his brothers showed some combat skills/had fights during the show.

Webby - Webby should’ve got her own season with her own arc and a proper origin. Instead she got only the final episode, a piece from Season 3 and the worst origin a fan could ever think of.

Della - I believe that in Season 3, Della didn’t got enough spotlight. 

Fethry - Fethry appeared less that Gladstone in DT2017 and I find this unfair.

S.H.U.S.H. - We should’ve seen more of S.H.U.S.H. in DT2017.

Quackmore and Hortense - Frank included Matilda but not Hortense who is the other sister of Scrooge. I find this unfair, of course she was mentioned and seen on a picture but it would’ve been better if we knew if she and Quackmore are still alive, and if they were how did they reacted to Della’s “death” and return, did they ever get to meet Huey, Dewey and Louie and what were they doing during every event. 

Negaduck - I don’t need to say why as all of you know already. So I will instead say that Frank’s excuse for not including Negaduck in Season 3 is RIDICULOUS. Negaduck is a fictional character, not some real living being for crying out loud.

№1: Violating The Original DuckTales - There are two thing he did that violate the original DuckTales.

1. Seasons - If Frank really loved the original DuckTales, he would’ve gave his reboot the same amount of seasons instead of some stupid excuse.

2. Violating The McDuck Family Tree - Instead of revealing Webby’s family tree, he violated it along The McDuck and Daisy’s Family Trees by mixing them into one. Which means that he doesn’t like The McDuck, Webby and Daisy’s family trees the way they are. Which means that he doesn’t like the original DuckTales.

Darkwing Duck was before my time and also not on public access TV so it’s not like I came into this with Expectations anymore than I did for Ducktales 2017 as a whole 

but one of the few things I wanted out of this was “DW gets along great with Fenton and not with Gizmoduck” and DT2017 was like “Sure, go nuts.” Thank you for my life.

I hope their civilian selves are BFFs.

September 7th: Darkwing Duck has definitely grown on me the past couple of months, but I still have to say Gizmoduck. It's Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Fenton is just so likeable like ❤️

Let’s Get Dangerous: lived up to the hype

-Gosalyn: AMAZING. Anybody else lightly shipping her with Dewey, or is it just me?

-Launchpad: OMG SO GOOD. So excited! Such a good dude! Protective and unusually knowledgeable! Diving head-first straight into “WE ARE A FAMILY NOW” without thinking twice! Also, I got a little twinge of Sad Launchpad Theory vibes when he went to talk to Gosalyn in the window!

-Drake: ugh they did such a good job with him. I’ve noticed ever since his first DT2017 introduction, I can’t help but watch the old DWD with this backstory in mind for him--doesn’t being an out-of-work actor make way too much sense for even old-school DW? And I love all the touches that show him as a giant DW nerd, like a DWD arcade game in his hideout and reminiscing DWD episodes with Launchpad! And I must say, I adore how this version of Launchpad and Darkwing are very much coming at this as equals, as opposed to old-school DWD having Launchpad be distinctly sidekicky. Launchpad has so much loyalty and heart to contribute!

Also, I’m sure the joke’s been made a zillion times, buuuuuuut… Drake: I’ve only had Gosalyn for a couple days and if anything happened to her I’d kill everyone in the room and then myself!

-Fenton: it is delightful to me that Drake hates Gizmoduck but likes Fenton. I mean, I gushed a lot when I first watched Tiff of the Titans and their old-school dynamic is amazing, but there is always something wonderful about secret identity stories where somebody knows both sides of the person with the secret identity and just… hates one of them. (...as opposed to hating one and being annoyed by the other, which is what i recall of the Tiff of the Titans dynamic) I bet Fenton was eager to help and just as he finished with the computer and opened his beak to propose a more direct crime-fighting partnership, Drake started rambling about how this amazing set-up would show Gizmoduck who’s the real hero around here! ...and Fenton awkwardly agreed, and now he’s too embarrassed and too invested in being friends to say anything.

-I knew they’d work in the sea monster eating Scrooge’s ice cream sometime.

-oh, and it’s hilarious and perfect that Dewey and Launchpad are so bad at keeping secret identities secret together. Not just that, but they’re bad at it, they think they’re good at it, but it’s only because nobody cares! Ah, sweet dummies. I love that it makes use of the fact that old-school Launchpad never bothered with secret identities for himself and somehow it was never a problem.

-I would now like the show to circle back around to one of my early DWD on DT2017 ideas, and have Drake get a house in the suburbs to raise Gosalyn, and Launchpad spends so much time with them that some people not in the know assume Launchpad and Drake are dating. In fact, I would like the person that leaps to this conclusion to be Della. Della: who’s that guy with Launchpad again? Dewey: oh, yeah, that’s Drake. they’re kinda... partners. Della: wait, what? Really? Last I heard, Launchpad was barely over Penny. Huh. Good for him! Dewey: ...oh yeah, nailed the cover story!

-I feel like I should have things to say about the Fearsome Four, but I don’t. They were good! I like Liquidator maintaining his salesperson persona! I like the reference to Bushroot being less villainous than the others! They had great designs and voices! ...but yeah, not much else to say.

-I bet there are some people disappointed that Taurus Bulba isn’t a menacing mobster from the start, but I found it clever and interesting that he was so different. He was so good at putting up a friendly front!

I... am not sure yet whether this is a favorite of the season, because I have been getting a ton of excitement mileage out of Unexpected Launchpad Feelings, but it was damn good, and I want to see more of Drake and Gosalyn and Launchpad and Feelings!

finding out LMM voices gizmoduck in dt2017 was the worst day of my life

I’m honestly interested how Frank and the crew are gonna adapt some of the other elements of Darkwing Duck, especially the ones related to Drake. DT2017 Drake is way more humble and nice, so he wouldn’t be quite as annoyed with the Muddlefoots or Pelican’s Island. And even if he did say “I am better than Gizmoduck” at the end of the episode, Drake doesn’t strike me as having the ego to start a one-sided rivalry.

I just hope they’ll announce they’re making a show soon, so I can finally know for sure! :D
