Ode To L’Manberg: Independence or Death

This is the first in a series of works I am making for my high school art class. The series is meant to present the story of L’Manberg as written in my main DSMP au (Symphony of Gods and Dreamers). The lore dumps I have posted about this au can be found under the Zorishy’s Bursona Lore tag.

The original L’Manberg army was much larger than in canon and made up of defectors from Dream’s early colonies on the SMP.

Totally not asking to procrastinate on literally writing my own. Nah. I don’t even know what procrastination is.

SKLFDJSJHDJFLH INFODUMPING ABOUT MY AU? ALWAYS. I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED.

Okay so! Where should I start? *rubs hands like that one evil toddler cousin on Christmas*

The background setting!

So the fic already has a name, but I'm keeping it AND the MC secret as a lil surprise for when the fic is eventually published. All I will say about it is, it's not Tommy. *gasp*

Tommy does appear though, so I'll start there to avoid detection I think.

He works at the bakery(yes, it's owned by Niki Nihachu), which is right around the corner from the hero headquarters. So heroes are always stopping by for baked goods, especially since Niki's girlfriend, Puffy, has a son who's one of the top heroes, and he told all his friends about how good the bakery is.

And, of course, true to all the clichés, Tommy and his two roommates work as vigilantes. They don't work only at night, though. They work at lunchtime as well, since they all get an hour of lunch break & a lot of villains are out and about around that time. Counterintuitive, but then again, there are a lot of people in the streets to nab as hostages, and some villains actively seek out heroes to fight anyway. Like Redrum, known as the sharp-clawed, since he's apparently a catshifter (or general shapeshifter, who knows) who goes around stabbing heroes.

Tubbo works at the mechanics, his boss is retired hero/hero trainer Sam Dude(known as Warden during his time)! Sam retired among controversy though, because of issues surrounding the Hero HQ's former resident healer/ex-licensed hero, Lemon Balm. Tubbo couldn't care less though, Sam's nice and lets him take spare parts home for inventing(read: making vigilante gadgets).

Ranboo helps out at the local library, with Technoblade(last name unknown) as his boss! They're also the first out of the vigilante team Bench Trio to find out that Techno is the Blood God, one of the most popular vigilantes currently active, and one half of the elusive Emerald Duo.

Phil runs a bird shelter, and when he's out as the Angel of Death, he sometimes lets the crows from the shelter follow him around!

Kristin is a hero-turned-vigilante, formerly Miss Trixtin, currently the Goddess of Death. She's a bit busy with her day job atm though so she's taking a bit of a break from her vigilante job.

Wilbur is their son who left home after an argument about vigilantism not helping reform the corrupt hero system. He's a villain called Silver Tongue now. He keeps stealing important stuff from the Hero HQ with Fundy. He gets pretty close with Tommy after regularly visiting his (adoptive) son's workplace :D

Bench Trio's vigilante names are Aerie(Tommy- telekinesis + singing to plants to make them grow), Bee Bomb(Tubbo- honey colored explosive energy balls & metal manipulation), and Endgame(Ranboo- teleportation & compression, plus they can bite through anything)!

(Double powers are uncommon but not too rare, triple powers are EXTREMELY rare.)

Tommy's bakery coworkers are Fundy Soot(villain- helps his adoptive father, Wilbur, on his little outings. Ability to go unnoticed by everyone and anyone. It works on technology as well. He's also a general shapeshifter in theory, but he can't transform into animals bigger than a fox.), Badboy Halo(civillian- he can make red vines grow out of the ground! This saved Skeppy's butt once, cuz they used to live in the same neighborhood & went to the same schools, and one time Skeppy fell off the flagpole of the middle school. Bad's vines caught him midair.), and later on Ant Frost(🤫).

Niki herself is actually a former hero who resigned, she got too much hate about her power(copying others' powers for a short while). Puffy, who was her partner, retired a few years later, since she'd decided to adopt the orphan boy who had applied for the hero training program, and she'd need more money than she was making as a hero who had lost most of her popularity. She became a therapist, and fully supported her new son Foolish throughout his hero training!

Puffy and Niki never really talked about their relationship, but since Puffy's power is reading minds & emotions, and Niki can copy her power, they didn't have to. One day they just started telling people they were taken, and that was that.

Foolish is a popular hero who can call up storms & has the additional power of building anything in the blink of an eye! His partner(both work AND romantic) is Eret, who can control people's actions if they catch sight of her glowing white eyes. Their hero names are the Golden Shark and Monarch respectively.

Tina is also a hero, she graduated the hero training program with Foolish, but her powers(always landing on her feet when she falls, enhanced senses including night vision, and stealth) coincide too much with the top hero, Dream(can't get hurt from falling, slowing down time to give himself time to think, some enhanced agility), and she didn't get very popular. This will soon change though, Tina is the GOAT and everyone will know it.

Speaking of Tina, Hannah Rose the retired hero! She runs a flower shop! She retired after one of her wings was ripped during a fight, the physical therapy took a while and her popularity dropped like a stone. She realized how unfair the hero system was to unpopular heroes and decided to retire. Her wings still haven't recovered, her flight balance is too off for her to even consider flying more than a few feet off the ground, and more than a few seconds.

Las Nevadas! Quackity! He's one of the rare triple powered people! Golden duck wings, can manipulate card-shaped objects(a form of telekinesis), and has the ability to control odds(only if he's aware of all the variables though. It won't work very well if there are unknown factors).

Charlie! May be an elder god, may be the devil, who knows! He can turn into green slime, create green slime(with various properties), and additionally, knows everything about everyone. Nobody actually knows if this is a power or not, but it's certainly terrifying paired with his cheerful, optimistic personality.

Purpled! His skin is basically invincible, fireproof, acidproof, poisonproof, you name it. He also has perfect aim, which is very handy since he's an assassin. His sibling Punz is also an assassin, but they has flight trajectory manipulation and his eyes can zoom in on anything.

Skeppy. He's not part of the mafia, but he might as well be becuase he's literally always there. Nobody knows how he does it. But. He. Is. Always. There. He can summon diamonds though so nobody's complaining😊 lol

(But seriously, he's also fun to hang out with and plan pranks with. The mafia world is full of people who want something from you/have ulterior motives, and it's nice to hang out with someone who doesn't want anything from you other than keeping him company and talking with him.)

Sam, Foolish and Punz are friends! Sam suspects Punz is mafia but keeps quiet about it(he isn't about to make the same mistake as last time), Foolish is oblivious. Punz loves his homies, but is stressed bc Foolish has a v strict moral code and would not be happy if he finds out Punz is mafia.

Uhhh who have I not talked about, KARLNAP. Sapnap was a vigilante(he failed the training program interview) who quickly got recruited by the heroes, Karl was the same but a while later! Sapnap got patrols with Dream and GeorgeNotFound(all three go by their actual names as heroes, though Sapnap's vigilante name was Flame) and immediately gained a huge following(besides his fans from his vigilante days), but Karl(a.k.a. Timekeeper) wasn't that well-known even as a vigilante. He didn't give up though, and trained extremely hard every day. Then one day Sapnap saw him in the training area and got an instant crush. They talked, Sapnap began asking to be paired with Karl for duo patrols, they started dating, and now they're both famous & known as the ultimate power couple :3

Hmm, it feels kinda anticlimactic to end like this, so have a codename compilation!

Tommy- Aerie(place to rest suspended in the air. Tommy can float things in the air so I thought the name fit.)

Tubbo- Bee Bomb(Bee Bombs are wildflower seed balls that you leave out in the garden/in pots to grow wildflowers. I thought Tubbo would like the name, since his energy balls are supposed to smell sweet like wildflower honey.)

Ranboo- Endgame(They're so overpowered with their teleportation and compression that Tommy and Tubbo insisted his appearance alone would signal the beginning of the endgame. Nicknamed Ender.)

Technoblade- the Blood God(obviously.)

Philza- the Angel of Death(also obviously.)

Wilbur- Silver Tongue(for his silver tongue.)

Fundy- either Nonexistent or Ghost, haven't really decided yet

1- Does Richas also sees and says that Cellbit is his hero and that TazerCraft are the parents that are most chill but actually all three are (for Cellbit's case were) villains? And does he know about it and says that to not bring suspicion to them or help their images?

Cellbit is 100% still Richas' hero and Tazer e Craft are probably still his chillest parents, though they are a bit more. Destructive. Than they are in canon. So Chume Labs is Pac and Mike's Thing yk? By that I mean, instead of minigames and stuff, they do some more mechanical engineering type stuff. They actually make equipment for the FoH on commission sometimes, which basically solidifies their alibi as Not Villains, because what kind of villains would work for the enemy?

The Brazilians all know about Cellbit's past and the only ones actually worried about it are Pac and Mike with an emphasis on Pac, who is still terrified of him after some of the stuff he pulled back in the Day lol

Richarlyson will find out about his dad and this New Guy having a bit of a thing for each other and he is going to Scheme along with a new friend he's going to meet at a pr function his dad the mayor has going on with the FoH, and this other kid is very invested in Roier getting a new boyfriend. Regarding Roier and Richas, Roier will be so fucking concerned for this kid, especially since Richas' ability can be SUPER op given the right circumstances. But tbh he's pretty confident that Forever would be able to grab his own son out of the FoH's hands

Phil is the Angel of Death because he's literally just the same dude from the dsmp and thus from dsmp fics lol. He does Angel of Death things. He's very retired and he will NOT be going back into the industry, thank you, he just wants to raise his son and his daughter in peace with his secret 'super'villain husband, thank you

Right, so Blades basically go on the mod/admin list by default in this AU, with limited powers. For example, since none of the Blades are the original Blade who started the server/have been added to an "allowed" list of commands, non of them can do /ban. Lets take a look at some of the powers that they do have!

c!Phil - he's an Aegis, he's got Creative. Always forgets about it though. Mostly uses /enchant.

c!Techno - since he's in Resonance with Phil and Kristen, he also gets Creative. On his own, he gets the power to /tp. He's very proud of himself for figuring out a non-Blade way for flying in Skyblock

c!Skeppy - he's actually got flying. This is partly an air Blade thing. Mostly he doesn't on the DSMP because it's more fun to mess around with Bad on the ground.

c!Callahan - all mobs are non-hostile to him. Technically bosses too, like withers or the ender dragon. Also he can do spawn tracking. Worked with Dream to turn off the Phantom spawns.

c!Slime - /clone. Very useful for building things with Quackity from Las Nevadas. Gets corrupted as a command, and later is (ab)used to create the slime army

c!Punz - he can mute people! It makes it so that certain messages, either sent by a player or sent by the world about the player, cannot be seen by anyone but him (brought to you by how the hell did people on-server miss 60+ death messages about Dream and Punz killing Lazar and Vikkstar over and over again?). Useful post Staged Finale, because every time a Blade is Awakened, they get ____ has joined the game messages.

c!Dream - He always gets /daylock because he is a light Blade. He also gets a /locate, which is why he's not very good at maps -- he's never actually needed them before. Worked with Callahan to turn off Phantom spawns.

c!Drista - she does pop in occasionally. As XD's Blade, she gets Creative. If she ever ended up in Resonance with someone else, she'd only have /xp.

Okay so time to spill more on my ssmp au because now that I have people to talk about this with that seem genuinely interested I CANT shut up:

So, all the Minecraft servers are essentially in one world to me. Hermitcraft? Life series? Ssmp? Lifesteal? Fuck it, dream smp? And every other lesser known smp, of course. (I am NOT a dream smp fan anymore but I have a lot of intersecting headcanons between hermitcraft and former dsmp members, which also get REALLY complex, so,) All essentially on a planet of sorts . Their own weird funky mc planet. All of them coexist. Now, if anyone is familiar with something called Evolution smp... Yeah okay I can't keep my mouth shut I CREATED MY OWN WATCHER AND LISTENER LORE FOR THIS AU. SEANS A FUCKING WATCHER OKAY AND LEGUNDO IS A LISTENER WHICH MEANS THEY ARE LITERALLY NATURALLY INCLINED TO HATE EACHOTHER. It's why they always end up at odds, why they cant ever seem to cooperate on ANYTHING. Okay, so, taking it back a little, some of the lore for watchers and listeners is a little confusing and basically none of it is canon except for some of the evo stuff because I'm literally just taking the plot from there.

Okay, so, Evosmp happens (I haven't watched evo I've just gotten the general idea of what happened from lore videos and compilations etc etc whatever who cares), the Watchers, who are essentially types of gods, reveal themselves to the evo members. They aren't immediately hostile, deciding to slowly take over the server instead of just slaughtering everyone. They start to be worshipped, as they are literally some form of gods, and start to ask weirder and weirder things from the members. Especially Grian, the server admin. The easiest way to take down a server peacefully is luring a server admin into the watcher realm, turning them, and having them hand over the server to the elder watchers; that was the technique they were using. Half way through Grians transformation, which, in my mind, takes about a month or two, he starts to catch on to the more sinister side of things. Blah. Blah. I can go into more detail about the exact situation and lore for Hc/trafficsmp characters later if anyone is interested but this is about SSMP!! Basically the listeners step in once Grian realizes he's too far along to help himself, but by the time he gets back to evo and out of the watcher realm he's already one of them. The thing about watchers and listeners, there's only two ways one can die. Watchers can only be killed by listeners. Listeners can only be killed by watchers, or overexerting their magic. (Watchers aren't affected by overexertion for some reasons I'm not gonna get into rn)

In order to stop the watchers from taking over the server all the members were turned into listeners through a faster process so they could actually fight them off, blah blah. They realized they weren't going to win this war so they just decided to kick the bucket at that point, rather that than be gods. So, one of them killed grian at his request, and all the listeners proceeded to overexert themselves or give up in a fight against some of the watchers. They're reborn, without their memories of the past life, and woohoo whaddaya knowit they're still watchers/listeners, except now they're classified as 'runaways'. Runaways are watchers or listeners who've purposefully died to escape their peers. Hey, guess who happened to be one of the more chaotic watchers during evo? That's right!!, Sean!!, and he got killed, and was reborn as a shapeshifter; THATS WHY HE HAS MORE CONTROL OVER HIS ABILITIES! because he's like literally kinda a god. A traitor, but still a god. The highest listener, the one who decided that the evo members needed help, was legundos past life. He was killed by watchers too, and after his and the evo members' death the listeners were corrupted. They still have what is essentially a rivalry with the watchers, and will attack each other on sight, but listeners start attempting to lure players in as well.

I've dubbed it Masked Gods and I am Deeply invested you don't even know, there is already an absurd amount of lore

Rambling and world building ahead, beware

SO

- The dsmp is a town called Malvista, a town of constant change and strange residents, full of eye iconography (and plenty of propaganda for and against the eyes to boot), often eyes of ender will be hovering under awnings and by doorways outside the houses

- Those who find themselves in the town can’t leave, the unsettling mayor (Dream) somehow knows everything that happens in the town and prevents anyone from moving away

- There’s no humans, instead there’s humanoids; Fae, Golems, Lycanthropes/Familiars, and Mobfolk to name a few

Philza Minecraft

- Witch/warlock of Mumza, the goddess of Death

- A sort of were-crow, can appear as more crow or more human

- Chained/Nearly killed by the small town he grew up in for witchcraft, Mumza saved him via divine intervention and shuffled him to a safe place in the snow biome

- Can talk to Mumza but he looks crazy to people around him, one-sided phone convo

- Dad to Techno, WIlbur, Tommy

Technoblade

- Oldest son of Philza

- Drawn to the occult, made a deal with a god of old and got cursed into a boar form for it after going through Philza’s old texts

I forgot one of like the most important pieces in the Origins AU.

So the main cast is based on Sanders Sides with a bunch of my OCs that just pop up out of nowhere and are supposed to just be there for like a story or two then dissappear but then accidentally become main characters (-cough cough- Caleb -cough-), but there is also MYCT. Specifically DSMP characters. And they're gods. -jazz hands- totally doesn't go wrong.

The gods' role in the story is kind of like the greek gods. They are /supposed/ to be hands off, only interacting with mortals when they choose champions from among them who are given the powers of that god. The main gods that the crew interact with are the Minecraft family, and two OC gods, Queen Nebula and the Wither King. I'm gonna copy a bunch of stuff from the canon library and Caleb's own story telling in the series:

Some gods are who they are from the beginning of their existence, brought forth by the God of Creation himself. Others are chosen from among mortals, granted power to be used for good, or for evil. Though they tend to stay within their own plane of existence, their powers and areas of rule have the possibility of affecting all of us.

The Gods can pick mortal champions to spread their influence. Doing so will have the God share their magic with them. The Gods can be very picky on who they think is worthy.

God of Creation

The creator of all worlds and resources, the God of Creation is the first and main god. It is generally accepted to refer to the God of Creation as Ender. Though some have tried to make an argument that he is Herobrine, the ghostly legend. It is unclear if these arguments are inspired by factual experiences, as many “witnesses” upon further investigation recant their accounts. 

What is true is that the God of Creation spent his time working in the beginning, and now is said to rest and watch his creation unfold unless approached with a request. Ender is said to be too powerful for any mortal and thus will not make anyone a champion.

God of Decay

Said to have been born of the stars, the God of Decay- also known as the Wither King- harnesses the dark arts of Wither magic. His god-status is said to have been gained when he was mortal, having already given in to the corruption of Wither magic and seeking more power. He approached Ender, the God of Creation, with the request to become a god. Ender granted this wish, but in turn granted the Wither King’s sister godship as well.

Wither King values drive and knowledge, seeking out people who he believes are like him. Because he is trapped, he tries to take over his champion's will in a way to be able to live again and maybe one day free himself from his prison. The Wither King is said to have the power to give the Wither effect to anything, causing it to decay, and summon and control the Wither mobs. 

Goddess of Life

Sister to the God of Decay, the Goddess of Life was granted power to balance out her brother. Most agree there was a great battle between the two, but every society has their own version of the story’s outcome. Some say they both perished. Others say the Goddess of Life killed the Wither King. Still some believe the Goddess could not bring herself to kill her own brother, instead imprisoning him in the Nether.

Nebula values passion and compassion in her champions. Only known as Queen’s Champions, Nebula picks people with the goal of protecting life and stopping her brother's influence. She also believes in not meddling in mortal life so her champions appear only when needed. Nebula gives her champions the power of the stars and to heal. 

Goddess of Death

A loving Goddess named Kristin that takes care of the souls of the dead and decides where they should go. Also known as the Raven Queen, she takes the form of a raven Elytrian. She married an Angel of Death named Philza and has three sons. Tommyinnit, the God of Chaos. Wilbur Soot, the God of Music. And Technoblade, the God of Violence, also known as the Blood God. 

Kirstin values compassion and empathy in her champions. Called Angels of Death, their goals are to help guide lost souls to the afterlife. The most famous Angel being Philza Minecraft. Legend says that Philza was a champion that the Queen fell in love with and was given immortality so they could always be together. Angels of Death are said to have the ability to see spirits and know when someone is about to die.

God of Chaos

Tommyinnit, also known as Tommy or Theseus, is the God of Chaos. Tommy doesn’t believe in order and rules, and is known to be loud and cause trouble for everyone. Tommy is the youngest God and it shows. Tommy is loved by people who are rebels and also likes to cause trouble. Despite all his bravo, Tommy is still a loyal god to the ones he loves and holds his brothers in high regard. 

Tommy isn’t allowed to have champions, as the last time he had champions, supposedly the world almost ended. Legend says that the champions lost their minds and couldn’t handle the God’s magic. Some wonder if this means Tommy is more powerful than anyone believes.

God of Music and Diplomacy

Wilbur Soot is the God of Music and Diplomacy. The middle child of Philza and Kristen, Wilbur is a bit of a rebel himself. Wilbur values music and freedom, using his words to charm his way out of trouble. He is married to Sally, Goddess of the Sea and father of Fundy, God of Technology. 

Wilbur values charisma and talent in his champions known as Phantom Bards. Phantom Bards’ goal is to spread music and lead people into freedom and revolution. Phantom Bards are known to be some of the most talented musicians in the world. Being a Phantom Bard gives you the ability to phase through walls, turn invisible and let your music influence how people feel. Because of this, some people are untrusting of the musicians.

God of Violence (The Blood God)

A God of honor and devotion to people, Technoblade is no stranger to bloodshed. He is said to be praised by those going into battle, though his blessing never seems to be upon those fighting for a government. The legends speak of him toppling many attempts at government by the other gods, Technoblade holding to the belief that government corrupts. However, he seems to continually bless potato farms that make annual travels to disrupt the nearest governmental agency, much to the disdain of surrounding towns. There are many legends of the feats of Technoblade.

Technoblade values strength and loyalty in his champions known as Blood Warriors. No one is too sure what the actual goal is of the Blood Warriors are besides fighting and murder. Being a champion of Technoblade gives his champions greater strength, stamina and endurance. They are well feared in war times as even one Blood Warrior is said to turn the tide of battle.

God of Technology

Fundy, who is a trans man, is the God of Technology thanks to his great knowledge of how redstone and magic works and his curiosity to experiment and learn more. But being a fox, Fundy is also a known prankster. Sometimes helping his uncle Tommy cause chaos. 

Fundy’s champions are inventors and researchers known as Hermits. Hermits’ goals are to learn more about the world and invent new things to better it. Fundy values intelligence and curiosity in his champions. Hermits are said to have the ability to read any form of magic, even different hybrid magic.

I’m sorry this has gripped my psyche-

so Philza and Techno are some kinda deity-esque things, obv, somewhere between demigods and aspects of reality. Techno is the god of war and family, in the ‘I fight to protect my own,’ ‘the bonds of brotherhood and family are forged in blood’ kinda way. Phil is the god of dying, not the dead, i.e a classic psychopomp who serves our Lady Death. Tommy I think is some kind of recently-ascended version of the same thing, significantly younger than Phil and Techno (post DSMP godhood pog???) who got married to Tubbo as a joke and probably hasn’t quite settled into What he’s the god of yet, and Chayanne…. Chayanne is beginning to realize his family is Very Very Weird. (it starts with the Ender King, of course.)

Chayanne has known about Tio Techno for a while now. Dad never misses the chance to talk about him, and some of the stories he tells are so outlandish Chay wouldn’t believe them if it weren’t for how honest Dad always is. He never lies to them about stuff like that. (He never lies to us. He never yells. He never hits us. I don’t understand what’s happening-) Techno’s never visited the island, but Chay’s seen some of Techno’s old things hung in Dad’s closet, left there to free up inventory space. Why he had them when he came to the island in the first place, Chay doesn’t know, but he likes going through them sometimes, when Dad isn’t home. There’s an oddly bound red book filled with Chinese characters Chay can’t read, an absolutely massive sword that’s buzzing with magic, and a red cape. Sometimes, Chayanne buries his face in the train of the cape when he needs to feel brave. (He really really needs to feel brave right now.) When Dad leaves, everything in Chayanne’s gut screams that something is Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. Talulla is terrified, though she’s gone all bitter and short with everyone like she does when she’s trying her best not to show it. Chay takes one look at the blistering corruption on his Dad’s back, the rot creeping between his feathers, and knows he can’t leave Dad alone like this. Anything could happen. They could loose him. So, hands shaking as his Dad rows away, Chay puts his sister to bed and opens the closet. He pulls the cloak down from the hanger and glances skyward. (Hey Tio, hey Kristin. If you can hear this… I need help. I’m really scared.) Hauling the thick red fabric over his shoulders, Chay shudders as something vast and deep and red seems to settle around him. His mouth tastes like it’s full of pennies. His chest feels hot. And when he turns to grab his sword, it’s lighter than it should be, faster, the edge slicing through the air like a fish through water. -protect-love-rage-protect- sings the cape on his shoulders, and Chay is still very very very afraid. But he doesn’t feel alone anymore, and that’s the important bit.

(I’m sure there’s more of this AU where after Phil snaps out of it, Techno arrives son the island in a blaze of bloody glory yelling about his pog nephew who used some of his power to kick the old man’s butt and the butt of Phil’s evil ex (/j) and how if he doesn’t get to see the new little warrior Right Flipping Now he’s gonna raze the Federation to bedrock. (He’s gonna do that anyway, it’s just a matter of whether he gets a tea break first) Tommy tags along, excited to see Tubbo again and maybe only slightly put out that everyone thinks Chay is cooler than him (he and Talulla get on smashingly) but I can’t write that with the limited time I have, so you must be content with your imaginations.)

DSMP Corrupted Death AU: Species List Pt. 1

I realized that I should probably make a list of all the people on the smp’s species and whether (if they’re a creature/hybrid) they would be passive, neutral, or hostile...so here’s the first half :D

NOTE: The descriptions are about them before corruption

Sam - Creeper hybrid (hostile - pretty much a humanoid creeper)

Callahan - Deer hybrid (passive - ears, tail, and antlers, as a treat)

Eret - Human descendant of Herobrine (neutral - got them glowy eyes)

George - Human 

HBomb - Cat hybrid [bc funny] (passive - ears and tail)

Hannah - Nature dryad (neutral - pointed ears, rose vines growing out of hair)

Puffy - Sheep hybrid (passive - wool-like hair, ears, and tail)

Purpled - Alien (UH...neutral - antennae, extra eyes, pointed ears, purpled-gradient-tinted ear tips, hands, and feet)

Ranboo - Enderman-Unknown hybrid (Neutral-??? - dual-colored skin, hair, and eyes like normal, tail, pointed ears, horns)

"At the edge of the marketplace there’s this big library with stone stairs leading up to it. It’s a common meeting spot for scholars, so there’s often people of all ages standing around and staring out into the crowd. It’s a perfect vantage point with an effective cover for him to pick his target.

Carve That As Your Epitaph: this is an au cbenchtrio alternating pov fic based on the story of "Once Upon a Time (In Space)" by the Mechanisms - which is a story album retelling of fairy tales in space.. if they were also fighting in a major political resistance against a corrupt empire (for more info i use the tag: "ctaye" to talk about it but be aware there might be vague spoilers)

It Wasn't Your Fault: this is a cClingyduo fic set post-disc war finale but pre-tommy prison death and they talk about exile. here's a lil section of it: "But Tommy’s different and half of that is Tubbo’s fault. Tommy’s different, and so is he, and he’s not sure where they stand with each other anymore. Not when it comes to things like this. It’s easier when it’s casual. When it’s like nothing has changed. Clear Nights: this is an early new l'manburg cbeeduo fic where they go stargazing ^_^ focuses on their developing relationship with some complicated feelings from ctubbo about l'manburg and home. it's 2500 words and 1 chapter

Tentative Friendships: this is a cranboo pov early new l'manburg cbeeduo fic. it happens right after tommy is exiled but the main focus is on their developing relationship. here's a lil section of it: "President Tubbo leans against him, head resting on his shoulder. Ranboo can just barely see his face from this angle. And he looks devastated, in Ranboo’s tentative opinion. Tubbo is a person who keeps his emotions locked up tighter than an enderchest. But something about the exhaustion from the past couple of days must have finally worn through his defences." this fic is 2600 words and 1 chapter

It's Fine, We're Fine: this is a fic where ctubbo interacts with enderwalking cranboo. here's a lil section of it: "Tubbo technically isn’t woken up by the bed dipping. What actually causes him to slip from one of his more peaceful rests into semi-consciousness was his front door opening and closing a minute or so prior. But the lack of action recently has made him soft. And his brain stays hazy and unfocused until, as mentioned, the bed dips.

And by then, it’s too late to consider that this could be someone out to get him or his son. Because he blinks his eyes open and comes face to face with Ranboo." it's 2100 words and 1 chapter

Twisted Traditions: this fic is something i wrote for cbeeduo's 1 year marriage anniversary! here's a snippet: "The grass is cool underneath them, and the sky above them is empty of clouds and full of stars. Tubbo and Ranboo lay stretched out on the grounds of L’Manburg, staring up into the sparkling void of the night sky. It’s a beautiful night, Tubbo notes absently. The grass is growing well after the replanting to cover the craters. The lanterns above L’Manburg city cast a nice glow over them without ruining the view of the stars. Ranboo is next to him." 1600 words and 1 chapter

On Grief and Other Things: a short fic set ten years in the future where ranboo has been revived and tubbo is reacting to that. here’s a snippet: “The process of grief goes like this: it is horrible and all consuming and you try to push it into the back of your mind and cover it up with work, work, work. You cover it up until you don’t have to try anymore and suddenly it’s like something’s been taken from you.” 800 words and 1 chapter

An Overthinker's Perfect Storm: a new l'manburg fic from cranboo's pov of ctubbo falling asleep on his shoulder. here's a snippet: "No, correction, the president is too short to reach his shoulder and is instead asleep on his arm. The president is asleep on his arm and has been for the past five minutes or so and Ranboo’s not exactly sure what to do about it because he can’t just move . Because if he moves, Tubbo wakes up. And Tubbo needs the sleep, in his tentatively given opinion." this is 2k words and 1 chapter

Working 9 Til 5: a fic where tubbo, ranboo and michael go to the beach! here's a snippet:

I met a monster (he seemed to vibe with me tho, so we’re kinda besties) (Lab AU. Dream is a monster stuck in a lab and Tommy keeps him company. It’s sort of odd, but it’s really fun to read)

Butterfly Reign (Royal AU where they have a nice relationship. It’s wonderful though. Like, genuinely, it’s written so well and it’s really nice in general)

Forged by Truth (or Lack Thereof) (This is THE protegé AU. Like, among the AUs that focus primarily on that, this is my absolute favorite. It also updates really regularly, so that’s a big plus in my book)

whenever we’re opened, we’re red. (Always set on the Dream smp, but it’s an AU where the Egg has taken over and with Tommy being the only immune one, and Dream being stuck in an obsidian box they end up being the only non-infected ones and they have to work together. Which, with Dream being, you know, Dream, ends up being rather hard)

Hello! I've been reading through your DSMP Blade System AU posts and am curious about how many shards/Blades DreamXD's Blade got separated into and what other characters are one of the resulting Blades?

Considering the Blades you mentioned (c!Dream, Mamacita, Drista and Cornelius) its characters played by cc!Dream or his sister. Im guessing NotDream123 might be another one then if he exists in this AU. Also Hubert which could be fun as the most c!Karl got about him was a mention when he was at the Masquerade.

I was thinking that the core crystal broke into 5 pieces. Here is an idea of what I'm going for, please excuse the roughness:

c!Dream is made from the bit in the center, which is shaped like a diamond or a rhombus. The other 4 Blades have the rectangular shaped parts, set at an angle. Core crystals are generally one color; the contrast here is to differentiate the sections.

The original core crystal was the same as the others, roughly palm sized. The shards actually grew a bit when they became Blades of their own.

Current Blades are Dream, Drista, Cornelius, and GirlDream/Mamacita. I'm still undecided on who the last piece will be.

Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with NotDream123. I'm probably going to end up skipping him? I checked and he dies several times, and a key part of this AU is that c!Tommy, c!Tubbo, and c!Ranboo don't really know all that much about the Blade System and how it works for regular Blades.

It probably will be Hubert. In this, Hubert was a Blade. The Egg can corrupt Blades by reaching through their bond with their Driver. Through Hubert, the Egg realizes that the corruption only lasts 1 life; if the Blade is killed, reverts to core crystal, and reAwakened the corruption is gone.

Actually, I really like this idea. So the Egg decides to try corrupting the core crystal of the Blade, and has Hubert killed again (by Billiam) shortly before the Masquerade. The core crystal is left in the Egg's room, and c!Karl accidentally grabs it when he is being murdered at the end.

This is part of the reason why the Inbetween grabbed Karl at this point. XD was manipulating it so Karl could keep Hubert's core crystal in his inventory when he died and then XD could retrieve the core crystal when Karl arrived in the Inbetween.

XD has a weird relationship with the Aegis pieces. As much as he wants his original Blade back, he does get less focused on his goal as the story goes on. Part of it is that DreamXD is Drista's Driver (why she has Creative) and he starts to like her. Part of it is that he is getting more interaction with other people and not stewing in his own loneliness.

GirlDream/Mamacita is the 2nd fragment recovered. I want to say that her Driver was Mexican Dream and she returned to a core crystal with his first canon death? The problem is that they're kind of joke/humor characters, and... So, humor is an important part of tension. But again, c!Tommy is not supposed to get enough info about the Blade System to read into the undercurrents of what is going on before Staged Finale. The entire situation needs a bit of workshoping. I'd need to re-watch the streams before I make a firm decision. XD grabs her after Mexican Dream's Third Canon Death.

Cornelius gets recovered because XD retrieves him. As the 3rd fragment recovered, he also gets put on a shelf.

Hubert is the 4th fragment recovered. XD pickpockets him out of Karl's Inventory in the Inbetween. Hubert does not go on the shelf because XD is too busy worrying about the damage the Egg did to the core crystal during the attempt to corrupt the core crystal. Since the Egg is an offshoot of the being that originally shattered the Aegis Blade, XD thinks it might be lingering damage for that instance, though he starts getting suspicious as he picks up more details from George and Foolish.

XD's attachment to Hubert and worrying about the damage also makes XD look at Mamacita and Cornelius in a different light. Around that point, XD stops leaving them on the shelf and starts carrying them with him.

XD is drawn to George in part because George was Dream's Driver. Part of their friendship is a shared grief for their Blades. XD does not meet Dream until the very end, when he has been mostly convinced that murdering 5 people to bring his friend back (an act that will upset all his current friends and destroy Drista, who he is fond of) is not the best plan.

DSMP is about humanity, about how even bad people are still people. This AU also adds a hunt for identity. When does a person stop being the same person. For a Blade, does the memory loss make them a different person in their next life? For DreamXD, the five fragments are explicitly different people, and he has to grapple with that fact as well as the driving force of his own grief and the knowledge that he can resurrect his friend--but it'll have consequences.

The Dreams of WoM

There are several Dreams in my AU I call World of Minecraftia, a living dimension generated from code from the game Minecraft but exists 'beneath' the game and the real world. Think Log Horizon but the avatars you play are independent people from the people playing them.

Black Market Dream - The Dream that existed before the account was bought by Player!Clay; never Awakened, so never sentient/aware.

OG Dream - The Dream that was Awakened when Minecraftia took notice of Player!Clay's trapping and parkour skills in PVP and jump maps. Because he was Awakened during his e-boy skin he looked human and retained that human look even when his skin in the game was changed to the brand green. Status - Deceased, suffered Core Death when Herobrine consumed his soul to take over his body.

Dream - Before OG Dream was consumed, he created a backup of himself that was then reinstalled into his body after George defeated Herobrine. This is the current Dream who now is investigating the corruption of the world that is causing DreamSMP lore to become active in his friends, racing to solve the issue before his own lore fully installs. Status - Active.

DreamXD/Exdee - The Alt Account. DreamXD spent his time posing as Dream in Sky Capital to prevent the authorities from noticing Dream moves constantly to avoid being pinned in one place. He also would run as far from spawn as he could to find new training fields for Dream, only stopping his runs when killed as he doesn't bother to try surviving. Suffered repeated Core Deaths for the process. His most recent Core Death came after he and Dream reconciled their differences and decided to become twin brothers; upon returning to life with limited memories of his previous self, he was given the nickname Exdee and became the Overseer of the DSMP, using Creative Mode to protect himself from the dangers of the corrupting world. Status - Active.

C!Dream(Copy!Dream)/Nightmare/Oneiros: Before OG Dream was consumed, he was captured by a faction of Avatars known as The Disillusioned and tortured until a copy of his data was forcibly taken. This copy was then taken to the Nether and installed into an NPC body before an incident caused him to activate. Believing himself to be the real Dream, C!Dream was put through horrendous experiments by the Disillusioned before he was able to escape them and end up in the clutches of warring Piglin factions. Whenever he is able to break free from them, he hunts after Dream in attempts to kill and replace him, often going by the name of Nightmare. The Syndicate rescued him, first by accident and then later intentionally when he became a member of their group, and are currently rehabilitating him by helping him find a new identity. Technoblade gave him the name Oneiros. Status - Active.
