This next chapter of DEISY was already gonna be lore heavy, and lots of things happening, and questions answered, and blah blah blah....

....but I did not expect how long it would be. O.O

I've not edited yet, so it'll probably be a few words longer than this, but....at the moment, the word count is 37, 546....*sweats*

I was considering splitting it into two chapters, but it all flows into each event, you know? I could probably still do that, but....well. I thought I'd ask you guys!

Okay so, this took unnecessarily long to find but i had to look it up cuz i couldnt remember how to pronounce it, but google says the French pronounciation is a-veli-ne?? Unsure if that’s right, French people please correct me if this is wrong /silly. Also, another fact, it means hazelnut!! Dont google translate it it says something completely different LMAOO.

OC KNOWLEDGE!! Out of Léonce, Lucien and Colette, Léonce is the oldest, being somewhere in her 20s when she found Siffrin and is now somewhere in her 30s. Lucien and Colette are a few years behind her, and if we include Siffrin, out of the four he is the youngest, obviously. Léonce and Colette are Housemaidens in Kaia’s House of Change and Lucien is a florist! Their appearances aren’t described yet in the fics I think but I’ll let you in on something… Lucien has Islander descent… but is not directly from the Island… so they do not have wings!

Yes the King’s wings are very big due to how big he is!! And yes they are the same shade! “and they're the same shade as sif's??? are they?? related??” I hear you ask… and i say… read the end of chapter 2 of DEISY… and you shall see…

Islander wings are various patterns and shades, but children often get a mix of shades and patterns from their parents! Each Islander’s wings are unique in their own way!

EUPHRASIE DOES HAVE WINGS YES YES YES SHE IS AN ISLANDER IN THIS AU!! I LIVE FOR ISLANDER EUPHRASIE YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

Siffrin preens by using his hands to get loose feathers and dirt and such out, and getting the sheaths off of pin feathers so they can grow in. Sometimes he struggles to reach the back so he has to get help.

THEY DO MOLT YES!! SOMEONE FINALLY ASKED ME THIS OH MY GOD… YOURE MY SAVIOR… but, yes, Siffrin does molt and he gets very grumpy when it happens… not only grumpy, they also hate it when people touch their wings when they’re molting and he gets irritable and such, and tends to hide away in their tent if they’re traveling or in their room if they’re at an inn. He only comes out for food and such.

The party could get some of his feathers! You’re going to LOVE chapter 1 of DEISY.

Loop has wings, yes! They’re bat-like with starry stuff!

So i saw one of ur reblogs to my reblog of ur reblog (a lot of reblog there) and i was like. Im gonna ramble again!! Mostly ab Sif’s wings!! So ya!!

No, Siffrin does not like his wings. They view them as a burden, as he can’t use them to fly, glide, or anything, and for other reasons. One of those being the fact that it’s a connection to the King, as he has wings too. But, it’s also not just with the fact that they’re just there, no, it’s also appearance wise. Their wings have shades suspiciously close to the shades the King’s wings once were before he was frozen in time. I WONDER WHY!! bats my eyes at you aggressively

Siffrin has trust problems when it comes to his wings, too. He’s so ashamed of them that he doesn’t let anyone outside his family see them, and even then that’s iffy on some days. Only a select few can even touch their wings without asking, those people being Isabeau, Loop, Colette, Léonce and Lucien.

Due to this hatred for his wings, Siffrin hardly takes care of them on some days. The only reason he does on most days is because Odile told him to, and Siffrin’s a sheep most of the time, not a shepherd (ouch, sorry Siffrin… LMAO). And when they don’t want to, then Léonce and/or Loop help him with it.

Sure, Isabeau thinks Siffrin’s wings are very cute, and yeah, it helps a little, but it doesn’t fix Siffrin’s insecurity and loathing of them. Siffrin’s self-hatred runs very deep, but, if you want a good side, it doesn’t run so deep that Siffrin would consider getting rid of them. That’d be severing one of the last links he has to his home, and that’s the last thing they want to do.

A. TIME FOR FLUFF!! Grabs you by the shoulders. Since Siffrin has wings, that means that normal clothing… really wouldn’t work for him. Before the events of IBaS,iTaT!ISAT, Siffrin stuck with cutting wing holes into his shirts, but after the loops, Isabeau began helping Siffrin with that, so now, most of Siffrin’s shirts and such are made by Isabeau. Isabeau has offered to do the same for Loop but Loop very quickly denied it and said they’re fine and they don’t need anything when they can steal from Siffrin. Which… is true. They do that sometimes LMAO.

Im giving you more fluff to balance out the angst. I did some thinking a few days ago and decided THIS!!!: Siffrin washed up in Vaugarde at 16 and Léonce found him (already canon) - they very very likely legally adopted him (translation: she did) since he was a child at the time and yk that child needed a guardian, (and fuck, sometimes he still does have you SEEN the stuff he gets into sometimes?) and well, they stuck to her like glue. Léonce’s last name is Aveline, and by proxy, that became Siffrin’s last name. So, technically, Siffrin does have a last name, which is Aveline. I really need to write a scene where Léonce full-names Siffrin in a tone of an annoyed mom 💀 (“SIFFRIN AVELINE.” LMAOO)

Due to the loops, Siffrin totally forgot about this until he went to Kaia with the party. Then he remembered. He has yet to even bring it up with the rest of the group but Odile has pieced things together based on observations of how Léonce treats Siffrin god awfully like a child of her own… so has Isabeau… but the others remain unknowing LOL

I didn’t have too big of a reason to make Tsuna a Norwegian Forest Cat. The long fur was really what sold me.

As for the others;

Hayato - grey with green eyes (went with a Nebelung instead of a Burmese as per a suggestion I got!

Takeshi - I kinda picture him as a black cat with some white on his chest, maybe with a bobtail 

Kyoko - in a not very stunning twist, I picture her as a red cat, so I went with a Somali

Ryohei - and because Ryohei is her brother, I went with a grey Somali

Kyoya - of course, had to be a black cat with blue eyes

Mukuro - Mukuro would be a really weird cat. dark blue fur, red & blue eyes. unfortunately, the closest I can get to that is a Russian blue and even then it’s just not blue enough. 

Chrome - and you know I encountered the same damn problem with Chrome. she’d be a dark purple cat with a missing right eye. the closest I can get is an edited(?) purple Russian blue.

Lambo - still up in the air about this boy but if he did go, he’d be another black cat with green eyes.

Reborn - I’ve tossed the idea around and eventually decided he’d be a black serval cat

Hana - she’s a long-haired black cat with dark eyes

Haru - she’s a dark brown cat with brown eyes

Tetsuya - considering that he has long hair in a pompadour, I think he’d be a black cat with curly fur

Ken - big ol’ cream-colored cat with brown eyes

Chikusa - a black cat with blue eyes, but this is the only black cat wearing a beanie I could find ahaha

M.M - since she also has red hair, she’d be a bright red cat, but she has indigo/purple eyes

Byakuran - he’s a white cat with a purple mark on his cheek but since that’s impossible to find on real cats, this is what you get

Shoichi - i’ve got quite a lot of red cat on the list, but he is also a ginger cat with darker red stripes and green eyes

Spanner - i picture that he’d be a cream point cat with blue eyes.

Shamal - i think he’d be a dark-brown cat with brown eyes

Bianchi - bianchi has straight up pink hair so like, lilac is about as close as it gets, but she would be a pink cat with green eyes

Bermuda - although bermuda is definitely edgy, i picture him to be black cat with a lot of white for some reason, so have this

Aria - another black cat with blue eyes

Uni - i think her hair is blue/teal (depending on anime/manga), so i think she’d be a blue cat with blue eyes

Colonnello - although colonnello’s hair is brighter than this, i think this cat fits pretty well. cream colored with blue eyes.

Lal - in the anime, it puts her burn scar on her cheek, but in the manga, it’s over her eye, and i think i’ll go with the manga’s take on it. aside from that, i imagine she’s another blue cat, with brown eyes.

Verde - there are no existing green cats lmao (aside from that one that was covered in paint, i think it was?), but he would be one. as for shape & size, i’m going with this one. just to clarify, he’ll still be a green cat with purple eyes.

Fon - since fon and kyoya are related, i thought about making fon a black cat, but decided it’d be cool if he were black and orange, with brown eyes. like the orange would be in the shape of his hidden dragon tattoo? maybe?

Skull - another unnaturally colored cat, aka bright purple with purple eyes. i think i’ll skip the piercings though ahaha. bonus cat pic here

Mammon - mammon is a little complicated because they’re hidden under a hood 100% of the time and what you do know of them is that they have purple hair, so essentially yet another unnaturally colored cat (although are they really unnaturally colored if they’re all in a universe full of people/animals with quirks? plus it’s anime so like, whatever). aka another purple cat

Xanxus - i think he fits a Maine Coone, dark brown with red eyes and lots of scars

Belphegor - i tried to look for fancy cat breeds and turkish angora seemed appropriate for this prince. so a cream-colored cat. since his eyes are never shown, i’m just gonna go for green, but lussuria did state that his eyes are “both cool and loyal” whatever that means. might mean blue? i don’t know.

Squalo - we all know he’d have long grey fur. his eyes are also grey. this is about as close as i think i imagine he’d look like.

Levi - he’d be one big cat. i picture he’d black, maybe with some hidden patterns in his fur? to represent his facial hair ahaha

Lussuria - can i just say that luss gave me some trouble? like, a green and blond cat? (not going from his ten-year-later form, by the way). one side is just green? or like his shoulder is green and the rest of him is blond/brown? yeah. i don’t know. this works instead maybe.

Fran - this boy is also another green cat, but a seafoam green. at least it’s all over. including his green eyes.

Basil - he’d be a cute little brown tabby with blue eyes, maybe?

Kikyo - ahaha a seafoam green cat with teal eyes 100%, but this is a good ref too.

Bluebell - tiny baby blue kitten with blue eyes

Zakuro - what’s that? another red cat? yes. a red cat indeed with brown eyes.

Deisy - what’s with all these green cats? but yeah, another one. the kind of cat you look at and you’re like… that’s one creepy cat. (also is it really spelled Deisy? people used to say Daisy because that makes more sense)

Torikabuto - this boi was basically a free for all. who knows what’s under that mask? was it ever revealed? maybe. i think he’d be a charcoal Bengal cat. i don’t know, that’s just what i picture.

Enma - you thought we were done with red cats? nope. have another one. red cats, red eyes. the whole picture.

Adelheid - adelheid would be a black cat with red eyes and just thinking about that is. oof. spooky.

Julie - i genuinely have no idea what shade his hair is, but i think it’s a light orange? that’s what i’ve been seeing around, so i’m going with it. a light orange cat with red eyes.

Koyo - another green boi but with red eyes.

Kaoru - blond boy with red eyes.

Shittopi - she does have a patch of hair on her otherwise shaved head, but i think it’s only fitting that she’s a Sphynx cat with red eyes.

Ooyama - the cutest chunky boi. brown & white with red eyes.

Leon - leon would be a rusty-spotted cat, but green. just pure green. and he’d be so confused

I-Pin - she’d be a tiny little black kitten 

Dino - another yellow/blond cat. he might have unique patterns because of his tattoos? but i’m not sure yet

Hello! So this is a question that's been bothering me for a bit! In ch 67, I was just wondering how in the world Sans knew about the Convo with Mike, he just seemed to show up and go straight for the throat lmao like Mc didn't explain, neither did Grillby so I was just wondering how he knew Mike was a complete and total waste of magic? (I kinda hate him lmao)

Ahhh, well, that one does have an answer, but depending in what chapter you're on, this answer may include spoilers....uh, so....EVERYONE WHO HASN'T READ PAST MIKE, LOOK AWAY NOW, SPOILERS AHEAD. 🤣

Ok, so, it's actually got a fairly simple answer - y/n's soul during this event was in obvious distress, given how Mike was being a complete and utter asshole to her. 😔 As a result, Sans felt this through their bond as soulmates, and just rushed there on impulse, knowing that something was going wrong.

Theeeen he saw that Grillby was pissed as hell, and Mike was on the floor....and put two and two together. Mike had done something to y/n that had seriously upset her, and it was something that even Grillby got angry about, so not good.

Of course, he took Mike off for a little 'chat' of the own to get all the finer details down, but....yup, that's how Sans knew. 🤣

And there will be more on Mike in later chapters 😉

In DEISY, it is said that cracking bones is “frowned upon in public”. I was curious if there was something you could equate this to? Is it just a skeleton thing, or a general monster culture thing?

Moments like the first meetup, how the chat with Grillby exactly went during the Hot Ketchup Incident, or what happened with Mike! If not, completely understand! Yeah, poor Papyrus 🥺 I wanted to show that, you know, anybody can make a mistake - and everyone reacts differently when they're hurt and confused about something. With Undyne....yeeeeah, we know how that came out 😅 But I thought in Papyrus' regard....well, even in the 'Disbelief' AU, he still holds some of that kindness within him, even when he's intent on making sure the player just stops, y'know? It's not quite the same situation with y/n, obviously, but I thought it was important to show that even when he's in turmoil like that, he still has a kind heart. Or soul, whatever. 🤣

I'm really excited to see how you do Grillby's, and other monsters! And I'm still just very excited to see how MC reacts more to genuinely kind people. Because I think, no matter what, Papyrus is kind and especially to someone important to his brother! And like it or not, Mc is important to them. I wonder if she's gonna still destroy humanity and start another war that destroyed the world already. Or if, without their food, theyrw still gonna send people down the hole. Instead, they may just eat them. Really, don't know what they thought would happen by hurting their literal food source . Should have just tried to keep MC happy, really. Kiss her ass! Or yk. They coulda not been absolute shitlords and instead been kind human beings- but then it wouldn't be a story!

I'll probably message more as I gain more thoughts and reread, but GOD every story you write always makes me want to know more! You have a great way of making us question what really went on in their backstory. I always wanna know more!

Oh really??? I didn't know that! Every Horrortale fic I've read does have Toriel there - even if she's o lying mentioned briefly. Basically, I have more plans for her in the story, ehehehe. >:3

Sans and y/n already have something in common, yaaay! 😂 Sans is....well, a lot more complicated as a character than he first appears (and yes, he's already a complicated dude 🤣) - but we'll unravel more of that later on.

The one scene in DEISY where Sans and Papyrus are tending to the MC after Flowey messed them up. Just the raw hope they put into the healing magic made it for me.

Awww yusss 🥺 It was a scene that I knew I'd have at some point from the very start of the fic - but with how the concept of magic slowly developed as I wrote, it came out with a lot more meaning. I'm really happy that it did! 😊 And of course, I'm still developing how much magic is connected to the soul, and from that, you as a person, so I guess it's only gonna get deeper from here! ☺♥️
