I like that they kept DD1's battle tactics and instruction option for DDON. It's way more lighthearted here. DD2 doesn't really need it, I think, but it would still be nice to sit down and chill with your pawn.

got ddon to start working for around 20 minutes; 4/10 kept crashing and turning off my comp, graphics aged poorly and was bad even for its time. points recovered for alchemist being the best fucking shotgun-blasting voc ever that never!!!! made it to dd2 WHY!!!! also points for the really funny voice actors for flirty-personality pawns who either went ara ara or were BL/hentai seiyuu who already knew the drill and tried their damnedest to fuck the arisen

i have so many thoughts about my dragons dogma online party despite not actually knowing anything about dragons dogma hehe

ive posted this^ image before but im putting it here so youll know what im talking about

so ill start off by saying that beeleth (center) AND pharomyr (right) are both arisen. as of right now im not sure who became one first, but it ultimately doesn’t matter that much.

beeleth (DISTINCT FROM MAIN BEELETH) is the leader of the party. prior to getting chosen by the white dragon, he was a noble of some sort, or at least some other person of high status. i haven’t quite worked that out yet. he became a priest immediately following the whole losing-his-heart thing presumably because it’s one of the less physically intensive roles he could take + it does come with a sense of respect, which he craves. in actuality, though, he is not worth respecting and he’s a massive asshole. he is often only respected as long as he keeps his mouth shut. beeleth doesn’t like healing people, and would much rather chuck potions at them and shoot orbs of light at enemies.

pharo is a fighter, and presents himself as a mixture of rough and classy; he’s also slightly clueless. he, too, comes from a higher background. climbing up the social hierarchy is his priority (and honestly? this applies to beeleth too, but not nearly as much as pharo). he’ll do anything to get the upper hand in social settings, including making a fool of beeleth to appear as the superior one himself. he’s loyal until a better opportunity presents itself, and luckily (or perhaps unluckily) for beeleth, none have arrived yet.

the two of them summoned a pawn from the rift to aid them as arisen: this turned out to be volo, a shield sage.

they have no reason to believe that volo isn’t a pawn, but i can imagine you likely know where this is going. he isn’t a pawn. he may act as such to an alarming degree — he picks up on bad habits and behaviors from pharo and beeleth quite easily, and will stop at nothing to appease them — but he has ulterior motives of some sort i’ve yet to figure out <_< i really don’t know much about him yet. it will be revealed to me another time

so despite none of them actually liking each other that much, they still work together out of obligation and convenience. it would be nigh impossible for them to get their necessary work done if they were alone, and most other parties wouldn’t tolerate their bullshit i would imagine.

the astute among you may notice that pharo is missing an eye. this is a reference to Baldur’s Gate 3, as pharo was actually made there first. those of you who know are also likely realizing the irony of having a character named volo in the party. I am entirely aware. Volo removed Pharo’s eye. I am a comedic genius.

but anyway i have no idea what volo was doing in the rift if he isn’t a pawn. i suppose that’s what makes him volo. he is always getting in places he really shouldn’t be for reasons he really shouldn’t have.

their party dynamic is really funny to me though and i like to rotate them in my mind. volo and pharo get along surprisingly well but beeleth hates everyone and everything. he wants to be a villain sooooo bad but the other 2 r like. i like to play and draw i like fire trucks and moster trucks ^_^ (they’re both secretly scheming though)

Speaking of Glyndwr.. I'm taking a lot of DDON vocation lore to heart and I want to think some applies to DD2 as well. The MA maister in DDON will say that just seeing the target you channel your magick through your bow to hit it, so you're hunting more with your desire to hit than your bow. Kinda what Glyndwr says is how elves use their bow in general.. In DD2 the MA maister is also an elf, and even though in DD2 that vocation is limited to Arisen only in DDON it's not. I mean good for Glyndwr to have eventually found a way to wield the bow, but I wish he could've just taken up a magick bow instead cos that might've solved his problem right away..

hi! i saw u reblog a gifset i made of dragon's dogma online and i was wondering if u were aware of the private server that was made by fans who somehow figured out how to turn the game back on lol (it's a discord server that i think you can find easily through google. some random dude on reddit invited me)

I am aware and I am in it! However I really do not vibe with the people in there and think they are grumpy, impatient, and poorly organised towards users asking for help despite advertising as a help server/channels. So I'm discouraged to set up the game unless they set up a better guide

The game's also still unfinished and buggy as hell that it can ctd so I'm not inclined to retry either 😅

christmas event started in DDON so I took silly pictures of the trio by the pretty trees. now they can celebrate the holidays together (just what they always wanted (???) 🤣)

realizing I don't think I ever mentioned here that I made Orlam as well once I found out you can make more pawns. the difference in his and genzou's dialogue.........lol

anyway, that is all LOL yes I still play (most) every night, I just don't post about it much any more, but it still brings me great joy and peace 💕 (and I'm STILL waiting for a DD2 DLC announcement... 😭)
