Chapter 864

Alrighty here is the delayed review !

I won’t lie that my first reaction to this chapter was again somehow being really disappointed. It is probably that because I find it still a bit odd that he rest of the Vinsmokes were left to that situation but I guess that after re-reading the chapter it was to highlight how the things has now turned upside down. Like in some earlier posts I’ve said this this arc is filled with parallels and now we have a situation where Judge is the “victim” and target of bullying (along with the rest of the family) whereas he used to be the one who discriminated Sanji for being weak. I actually now even feel a bit bad or Vinsmoke siblings but Oda did this all to highlight that what Judge’s ambitions have caused and he finally sees he consequences.  It it good indeed but still somehow I can’t get over the fact that he trusted so blindly a yonko but well I hope they will arise.

I think pointing out Judge’s emotions was the main thing in this chapter (which moved on in a pretty quick pace) but we shouldn’t forget the main hero of this chapter, Brook. he disguised himself and surprised Big Mom big time and he made a badass entry, too bad that the others didn’t see it the same way they just got scared becaus of poor Brook’s skeleton look xDD But again to be said, whoever thinks Brook is useless should admit that in this arc he has been one mvp ! I am so happy that he finally got the spotlight he deserves (I know he has been a big help earlier but it feels like he has been too much in the background but thanks to this arc, the Soul King shines !)  

Big_Mom.exe isn’t currently working due all the unpredicted stuff which is good in some way but probably the worst is about to come but SH have been preparing for this fight. This is quite random to add but I bumped into a theory that what if Mother Carmel is actually BM herself in her young days or what if she is actually Jewelry Bonney or even Dadan but I guess these are pretty wild speculations. I don’t remember detailed about these theories but they sounded interesting and who knows maybe there really is coming a major plot twist (although it’s really hard to say whether the plot twist will be that, could imagine it to have something to do with Pudding).  Speaking of Pudding she is now wrestling also with conflicting thoughts. It seems like she certainly would want to follow the original plan but the groom is underestimated since Sanji’s haki  ends up being quite a challenge for her and what probably annoys yet confuses her is that Sanji wasn’t the easy fool she expected.  

Still waiting to see what Oda will prepare for Pudding, maybe the will be the awakening of what Big Mom is waiting for or then her changing the sides (helping SH to beat BM) or maybe she just goes solo, who knows.  If she wants to become a friend with SH I think she has lots to do to win their trust again. I still want Pudding to be bad because that would suit her but it can still be that she will turn into good. What comes to the shipping perspective, it feels like the roses are pretty much wilted between the groom and bride. Sanji is angry and sees through Pudding, it’s his some sort of sixth sense that makes him distinguish whether the ladies lie or not. Sanji is now angry and it feels like the glare he made might’ve been a parallel to the glare he threw to Nami at chapter 844. Sanji again could have left Pudding to trouble but chivarly is strong on him and he ends up taking the battle against Daifuku. 

Capone and Luffy still playing the act before doing the counter meanwhile Pedro and Jinbe are stepping to the area. Team Nami-Chopper-Carrot are still waiting for the sign and it seems like things are now going unplanned since Katakuri has the ability to foresee the future. However Bege is closing the chapter with a badass reply telling that Katakuri might see the future but everyone has the power to change it !
