Haven’t shared any art in so long bc school/art block, but meet my new oc! I’m finally learning how to play D&D, this is my character Hans, he’s a satyr and a sorcerer. Don’t know what much else to talk about since I’m still learning all the basics but yeah tune in for more sketches like this in the future, and hopefully more finished pieces and info on my oc too lmao

Prompt: Figure from a reference!
I got my reference from a Twitter account called theposearchives and I had a lot of trouble with it at first. I started out by tracing the shapes I noticed in the picture to get a feel for how it should flow, but when I went to actually draw it just from sight it felt like I couldn't get the proportions right and it frustrated me to no end; and this was just for the lady's pose. I picked a picture with two figures which meant I had to draw them twice. Luckily I managed to get the second pose on the first try, which honestly frustrated me more because that was how easy it should have been.
I didn't want to just stop at the sketch phase, though. There are prompts later where I have to draw multiple figures, so I though I should make this one into a sort of finished piece. So I decided to make it D&D. The one being pinned down is my character, Eris and the one with the sword is her sister, Jupiter. They are both clerics and they have a very Zuko/Azula esque relationship. I imagined this scene to be at a point where they were sparring against each other in the past.

IF IT'S ALRIGHT
Would you tell us more about your satyr character Daffodil??
She seems really fuckin' cool to me!!
I absolutely love talking about my OCs, so I'll definitely indulge this~! You must know me from somewhere else to have learned about her since I don't think I've mentioned her on this blog much XD So, Daffodil is a Path of Wild Magic Satyr Barbarian
Tumblr media
The idea is that she's from the Feywild, and when she was young and naïve, she was seduced by an Archfey and the two of them were in a relationship that turned incredibly toxic (she had her name stolen), which then turned into an off-again on-again situationship, and then an occasional drunken booty call. They still show up to call on her when they want something, and she generally finds herself unable to refuse, for one reason or another. Daffodil deals with her problems by stuffing them deep down inside herself and not thinking about them~ (WOW, so healthy!!) Because of this, she has a very vapid, party girl persona that she usually uses while pretending that everything is FINE, actually, there are no issues whatsoever. Her rage is fueled by all of the emotions she keeps bottled up inside and because of her Fey nature, this has the extra side effect of creating weird magical surges in her general vicinity when she's fighting. Later in the game, she ended up finding her evil ex's true name in a weird vault of things stolen from Fey (while looking for her own) and used that to extort warlock powers from them. Unfortunately the game kind of imploded before anything really came of that... There was some other weird stuff that happened in that game that affected Daffodil's appearance that I may or may not keep if I end up recycling her for another game (although, part of that would be dependent on what level the game was).

are there any picrew’s that are good to help design a D&D character? Trying to at least get everything set with my friends for an actual campaign at some point and my art skills are five years out of practice so I don’t wanna risk drawing them :/ my D&D character is a satyr. I’ve really only found one so far, but I wanted to find more in a different art style to try and flush my character out more visually.

Feel free to ask yourself, "how many werewolves is a lot of werewolves?"
Not necessarily for this purpose, but for whatever purpose you can imagine a number of werewolves that would be enough for you to consider it noteworthy. In a world with few werewolves, three could be a lot. In times of werewolf abundance?
Is that number too many? Does it improve the situation? What did that teach you about yourself?
Write down your answer in your workbook and throw it at tonight's Buck Moon (July 3, 2023), or your next available full moon.
