kojo and farashe were literally like a last minute addition LMAO I love my doomed pen pals

it was hour zero like the game came out 24 hours later and Miz was like "we need some more tutorial text" and we didn't really want to present it as like "press x to cake" so I wanted to have it be correspondence between two characters

and given the Romantic Undertones between Cynte and Karis, I wanted to have kind of a foil to that. Kojo and Farashe were names in my discard list and I was like okay they're writing to each other in an attempt to flee, and this will communicate game information to the player. but like ultimately circling back to grief, I knew one of them had to die (sorry Farashe) and one of them perseveres in the hope that their lover will catch up one day.

and idk I just really liked making them? like yes parasites the bugs the cult etc etc but there are also other people on this ship who are doing their best to survive too!!
