toyed with the idea of alejandro as mischa (with talia as heather i guess?) because im biased and i love him but duncan does fit better so chose him in the end but either works

i know ride the cyclone x tdi talk ended like a milliom years ago but i was thinking about it and saw a tdi au ab it on ao3 and it made me mad so now i have 2 talk ab it 

noah would NOT be noel. there are so much differences between the two.

noah is NOT the most romantic boy in town noah does NOT crave a different life than he already has. they literally make it him just because noah's gay or wtva (i personally hc him as bisexual) even though they are not that similar!

i genuinely can't assign a character to noel pretty much because i really really really don't like him. but if i had to choose uhhhh justin...??  (made a ride the cyclone au once a long time ago and chose him as noel) idk..

i do really like the idea of harold being mischa, but i objectively see him as alejandro more (but i've thought of tyler being a good fit for him too! not the more gangster esc of mischa yk..also duncan too with the gangster stuff AND his love for courtney. (s1 start of s2) so much good characters fit him..)

rickey potts is a hard one like i see most people make him harold because that's generally how the fandom treats him, plus i feel like some things don't mix well with him and rickey's character. but if i had to choose maybeee ezekiel? ya idk..

ocean is DEF courtney. overachiever...cunty...like i saw her and though "yeaaahh that's courtney" luv them both

constance is beth imo, like the way constance hung around ocean at the beginning and then became her own person sorta at the end REALLY reminded me of beth. also nerdy awkward teenage girl. beth. love her 2 bits

jane doe is rlly a blank slate honestly....she could be anyone i see her as gwen a lot (i made her as lindsay in my rtc tdi au i made a long time ago) (i also saw some1 draw her as mal i don't think it was a serious au but oooooo it made me happy draw mal more)

karnak is also objectively chris mclean. duh

god they all look so stupid. squishes them in my hands like stress ball

anyways the designs absolutely SLAP you cooked with them fr fr, I really like you leaning into the white parts of their designs and making their unique colors accents instead of the main focus. the texture of the suits looks incredibly foreign, highlighting the alien origin of these suits and morphers. I love the little collars you gave them too, the suits fit perfectly fit for alien suits from a 90s show lol

I actually really like their civilian outfits too, you made their original outfits look better by adding more details to them without making it too chaotic. courtney literally looks like she goes to catholic school and I love it

over 10/10 art and designs I would eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner

The suits were what I struggled with the most lol, really wanted them to look alien yet also familiar! Glad I succeeded!

Allow me to ramble nonsensically abt the civilian outfits for a bit—

As for the civilian outfits, like I said I based them off of attire shown in campy 90s-early 2000s shows and they were... surprisingly easy for me to draw and design! Probably due to the amount of exposure I had/currently have to these shows lol

I'd unironically dress like this. To be HONEST.

Courtney's is probably my fav, her outfit is explicitly based on school uniforms and the preppy style from the late 80s-90s! Hers was also inspired by Willow from BTVS (primarily seasons 1-2 Willow), and a wee bit of Ocean from Ride the Cyclone (vibes)! Oh, and Rory from Gilmore Girls!

Harold's outfit was somewhat yoinked from some of Billy's fits in the og show lol (the blue overalls are very iconic to me) and... Yeah, def some Chucky influence in there. With the orange and pink and whatnot lol

The hamburger on his shirt always felt... weird... to me, so I changed it to an alien. Bit on the nose, but I think it also helps tie in his green-tinted glasses and shoes!

Heather's fit is a mix of her canonical outfit, with some influence from Trini and Kimberly thrown in there, esp with her sweatshirt! Also, the scrunchy is definitely a reference to Heathers (the movie and musical)!

I can also see her pulling off some of Buffy's outfits!

I remember there being outfits involving oversized sweater vests in a wide variety of 90s media... but for the life of me, I can't find the specific screenshots. I do remember Billy and Trini wearing sweater vests in MMPR once or twice, and that was the first thing that came to mind when creating Noah's outline!

^^ I also used pics/models like these for reference! I wanted his shirts to hang loose from his body, almost covering it up since the ranger suits are lowkey skin-tight. Also I made his socks and pants longer/baggier!

I RAN OUT OF PIC SPACE NOOOOO BUT JUST KNOW I BASED DUNCAN'S OFF OF 90S GRUNGE (because his outfit and aesthetic always seemed more grunge than punk to me) AND I HAD THE MOST FUN WITH HIS OUTFIT.... LET IT BE KNOWN.
