yesssss your post about dre being there. iā€™ve been trying to get caught up with everything that happened since i didnā€™t get to watch live and as iā€™m going through the tag iā€™ve seen a bunch of posts about it and like yeah who you associate with means something but also it would be wild if dre WASNā€™T there. kendrick had EVERYONE up there on that stage with him i donā€™t think itā€™s that deep ykwim. the whole fake activism thing is a strange accusation imo i think kendrickā€™s made it clear heā€™s a real one but people like to latch onto things yk
Yeah i mean i know this is the antiblack, never listened to hip hop a day in their life ass website but also??? Like at least use one brain cell to recognize it was a big holiday for Black Americans and it was a West Coast rap showcase with Compton + South Central + Inglewood artists both old and new being heavily featured (see: Black Hippy, Mustard, YG, Tyler, Ty, Dom, Steve Lacy, Roddy, Blxst, Hed, Boogie etc.) so itā€™s not at all surprising that Dre was asked to be there. Heā€™s been in the game since ā€˜85 and the whole point Kendrick was making about Aubrey is that he ainā€™t got no roots like they do and he is a disrespectful ass culture vulture who has no regard for the artistry and history of hip hop.
Hella people have been talking about this ā€” and not in this site ā€” but also Dot??? wasnā€™t hosting a kangaroo court exclusively on Dreā€™s baggage???? It was a cultural concert with CRIPS and BLOODS (including mf HOOVERS which iydk HUGE) on stage who havenā€™t come together like that in years. They were making peace in the name of defending our history from bitchass people like those not from the hood (AUBREY) or educated in the history of hip hop outside of romanticizing it and clout chasing (AUBREY). It was a reminder to not fuck with our city bc at the end of the day we got each otherā€™s backs. LA showed up for itself bc too many people have been speaking like they know us, disrespecting the history we got, and itā€™s very clear they donā€™t know shit. Those people can take their pearl clutching elsewhere bc Dre wasnā€™t the point of the night it was to unite the city and West Coast rappers against the kind of people like Aubrey and those who gargle his balls.

getting high with tighnari...
he's a lot more chill than you might think. still talks about plants (a lot) but starts going into shit like their 'evolutionary mechanisms':
"...like, don't you think it's fascinating that flowers have faces? if you look at them? like...really look at them?"
you look at the flowerhead that he twirls slow between his fingers while conjuring images of other blossoms in your mind. "whoa."
"i know right? some orchids have even evolved to look like what their pollinators find attractive. the dendrophylax lindenii, for example, can only be pollinated by the sphinx moth, which is part of the reason why it's an endangered species...that, and poaching. that's why i do what i do. only a relative few will ever see a live ghost orchid and i want to be part of the reason more people do. because they're beautiful and mysterious. like you."

Reading the Raven Cycle as someone who grew up in Northern Virginia is soooo crazy bc whenever they mention Ganesy living near DC I'm like omg that's my home? They mentioned picking up Professor Mallory at the airport and I was over here twirling my hair like "oooh I wonder if he's at Dulles or Reagan national"

Soooo what are yā€™allā€™s hcs on the Tweak family šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”
#lowkey I like to hc it as a generational trauma type of thing for Mr Tweak#I feel like Richard was a LOT like Tweek when he was little#very anxious and unsure of himself#he mentions in the gnomes episode I believe that his business has been going on 30 years#and was passed down to him by his father by his father before him#growing up I think that he too was given a lot of this coffee by his father#and over the years he was conditioned and manipulated into accepting this as the norm#in hopes that he would one day take over the business#when he was finally old enough his father shared the family recipe with him and at that point he had pretty much been brainwashed#I think he sees a lot of his younger self in tweek which is why heā€™s so condescending towards him and so determined to steer him down the#same path. Repeating the cycle and all that#and when Tweek is old enough he plans on sharing the familyā€™s secret as his father did with him#MRS Tweak on the other hand is an interesting one#we know so little about her but I feel like her personality also says a lot about her#sheā€™s definitely better than Mr Tweak but sheā€™s still very complacent and neglectful#I think what stands out to me the most about her though is the way her personality can completely switch up at times#most of the time she has this eerily calm almost docile personality#but other times sheā€™s a LOT more attentive and caring#yk like a normal mom#COMPLETELY different from how she usually acts#but the episode that gets me the most is ā€œGnomes#where she actively goes against Richardā€™s attempt to manipulate the kids and use them for business ventures#yet this is the same mom that actively poisons her son? presumably for the business??#like it doesnā€™t make sense to me#Iā€™ve seen someone suggest that Richard has been drugging her too#and BOY would that be a twist#definitely would explain the sudden shift in personality#i definitely think it would be interesting if she was in the dark about a lot of this too#not using this as an excuse as I still do think she is SOMEWHAT negligent on her own but I do think it could explain some things#south park

It's been years since I've been noticing this little thing I've been doing. There are moments where while thinking random stuff and making observations about whatever, I figure something out, like an epiphany, a discovery. Connected the dots.
It feels so elating, figuring stuff out without even intending to.
And that's just one of the core things about humans, we are curious, we explore, we discover. There have been several times I've figured stuff out and someone had either appreciated me or mocked it by "You just learned that now?" because apparently it was something that was already widely known. But when that happens I just cannot make the excitement go away. Because it doesn't even matter if it was a known fact, I didn't hear it from someone, I didn't study it in books or school, I figured it out by myself!
And I realized, this is how children feel when they excitedly show up to show you something or tell you something.
Curiosity and exploration is in our nature as humans and I believe when someone excitedly tells you, a kid or an adult, something they figured out and discovered even if it seemed to be a known fact, we shouldn't dismiss it but rather appreciate it. This encourages this specific core aspect of us which allows us to discover the things unknown.

Carol McCormick is the cig mom of the century and no one gives her credit for it. She tells her kids to hurry on home while the sun is setting, ā€œin or out donā€™t waste the cool airā€, her fingernails are yellow, she permanently smells like a pack of camels, her kids get used to tucking themselves into bed, she gives them her food, there is a haze of smoke wherever she is, and she hugs them tight before sending them to school or going to work. Carol isnā€™t a good mom but she loves them deeply even though thatā€™s not enough.

From the shadows of ancient lore to the relentless wilderness of the modern world, prepare to be consumed by terror in author Ken Austin's electrifying supernatural thrillers, Rally of the Damned: The Wendigo Awakens and Rally of the Damned II: The Skinwalker Chronicles. This chilling series blurs the line between the living and the undead, thrusting readers into a battle against forces as old as time itself.
"Rally of the Damned: The Wendigo Awakens" is a supernatural thriller set against the rugged backdrop of the Black Hills during the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The story follows a group of motorcycle riders whose gathering turns into a battle for survival as an ancient evilā€”embodied by the Wendigo, a creature from Native American folkloreā€”awakens. As eerie legends begin to manifest, a sinister force unleashes chaos, turning the rally into a battleground where riders and townsfolk alike are drawn into a terrifying fight for their lives. Through gripping chapters like "Whispers in the Black Hills" and "Firefight at Dusk," the novel weaves a tale of bravery, friendship, and resilience, as riders clad in leather face off against an insatiable darkness. This story combines themes of brotherhood, sacrifice, and redemption, drawing readers into a relentless journey where the roar of engines meets the chilling howl of spirits. It's a thrilling, unforgettable ride.
"Rally of the Damned II: The Skinwalker Chronicles" weaves a gripping tale of supernatural terror set against the raw, rebellious energy of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. Friends Charlie, Jason, Ted, and Travis, seasoned rally-goers, face a new danger when a Skinwalkerā€”a fearsome creature from Navajo legendā€”emerges, fueled by vengeance and dark rituals. As bodies with horrific, ritualistic wounds start to appear, fear spreads through the biker community. Joined by allies like the enigmatic Spirit Rider and brave Sierra, the group prepares to fight this ancient evil with silver bullets, sacred chants, and ancestral knowledge. Together, they form a courageous front, intertwining age-old lore and modern resolve to protect their community from an otherworldly threat.
