Olrox the Aztec (commissioned by Cyborrrg_| @cyborrrg )

I wanted a piece that represented how I envisioned Olrox to look when he was human. Although the Aztec (Edit: Technically, Mēxihcah) mythos does have a "god of flowers" that represented male femininity and homosexuality, my research found the society as a whole was still very rigid about gender roles, which also passed down a conservative look onto sexual minority expression. So I imagine Olrox being a man from an oppulent enough family of the Mēxihcah Tenochcah, which allowed him access to jade jewelry (forbidden to lower economic classes), and intricate tailored apparel, yet he would be a man that's still forcibly withdrawn.

The quetzal feathers in his quetzalilpiloni (feather hair ornament), prized amongst the upperclass, are beloved decorative ornaments by the Aztecs for the beauty of their native quetzal bird; but the one he holds in his hand has an additional modern-day nod for how Olrox views himself.

His solemn expression juxtaposes the vibrancy of the rainbow feather. Because for all its natural beauty, such an expression of self just can't be seen in his society.

Post Apocalyptic/Wasteland AU

I saw the picture of Ogata on Twitter from a Korean artist of him in a post apocalyptic AU. My brain when brrrrrr and here’s the resulting commission.

The Backstory

In this AU, me and Ogata meet in the wasteland.

He’s still a sniper and I’m still a medic. I was looting an abandoned building for medical supplies, unbeknownst to me, Ogata was there too. Ogata proceeds to neutralize me but I try to fight back. Though, clearly I wouldn’t stand a chance to him. Determining i wasn’t a threat, he releases me. However, I kept encountering Ogata as I explored more of the wasteland. Ogata was purposely trailing me, playing cat and mouse as he would surprise me by showing up and fighting me almost playfully. So here’s the picture that came from that. Clearly we’re enjoying the situation we’re in, though Ogata was a bit rough this time around. At some point though, while Ogata was trailing me, he saw me get ambushed. He saved me. From that point onward, he stayed with me constantly. I became his spotter and medic. We became partners in the wasteland, well more than that really.
