Dear heavens! He resisted the plasma! They didn’t blind his sensors, nor melt his face. His own mechanics acted swiftly, and throwing cold water on her hopes her attack would spare her life. She screams when his fist slices through the air and towards her! Panic grips her and acts on instinct. She doesn’t want to die but if this fail, then she didn’t die begging for her life.
Both arms rise and forearms cover over her face. Chin tucks into her chest and her eyes shut tight. Her body attempts to roll to the side, hoping she can save herself from a bloody demise. She may not be as fast as Smasher, but she has her own strengths. In fact, Harmony’s cybernetics gives her superhuman strength. She wasn’t rebuilt for speed, but for strength and defense. But though she is meant for strength, is she fast enough to miss the punch? Does she have the resistance to prevent him from smashing her face like a pumpkin?
She gives Smasher three words. Those three, little words directly from her heart, for they could be her parting words.
“Fuck off, dick!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Violence is powerful, hatred is wonderful, and such madness drives those consumed by these feelings to commit the impossible. Our tyrant stood like an immovable fortress as Harmony’s desperate assault surged toward him. The plasma rays, luminescent and searing, enveloped his face with a flash, their intensity enough to sear through flesh—but he was no ordinary human, he had no ordinary flesh and the beam was lacking. The blinding light reflected off his reinforced optics, his vision briefly whited out, but his resolve remained unshaken.
He didn’t flinch. He didn’t even blink.
As the last of the plasma beams became but a distant dream, Smasher stood there, unshaken by her petty resolve. The mechanical hiss of his systems reacted in response to cooling off the overall temperature as a counteract. His voice, a cold, mechanical rasp, sliced through the tension.
❝ That the best you got? ❞ Without hesitation, his massive arm moved with lightning speed, faster than any machine his size should be capable of. The full force of his cybernetic might was behind the punch, aimed directly at Harmony’s face.
❝ Get out of my sight you worthless cunt. ❞ Only a miracle could the incoming impact…

List of dimensional variants/counterparts of Enid and Wednesday introduced in my fanfiction Kooky Spooky in order of appearance.
This means that other characters that are counterparts such as Taylor Galpin, the Yoko and Weems from Agent A's dimension and the rest of the Adamos (High Fantasy Addams Family) are not on this list. Only Enids and Weds.
Tumblr media
(Artwork from Kris6758 on Twitter)
First, those with some weight in the plot:
Eamon Sinclair (Chapter 1): Initially named in Chapter 1, with no formal appearance until Chapter 43. Eamon is a male counterpart of Enid and husband of Friday (the Wednesday from the 1973 cartoon). Basically, he is "our" Enid if she had been born male. Standard lycanthrope, though exceptionally strong.
Thursday (Chapter 9): Wednesday Thursday Addams. As Eamon, a male counterpart to Wednesday and Friday's cell neighbor. He looks identical to a teenage Gomez but with no mustache and with Fester's pallor.
Enid Saint-Clair (Chapter 19): The Enid of Woe's dimension (the Wednesday of the '90s movies). Brunette, of Greek descent and werecat rather than werewolf. Affable and nice, though with psychopathic tendencies and a love for exacerbated violence. Loves to fight people who can keep up with her. To call her "kitten" is to invite death. Better just call her “Nid”.
Agent A (Chapter 22): Wednesday Tuesday Addams. The Wednesday from a dimension gone to hell (literally). She's a grown woman in her forties, dresses like she's a MIB and is a practitioner of magic. She's also one of the few Wednesdays who doesn't make use of her pigtails or pull her hair back in any way, leaving her hair loose. If you want to put a face on her, I imagine her as Hailee Steinfeld about 16 years from now.
Wodnesdæg (Chapter 35): Lord Wodnesdæg of the House of Adamo, Prince of the Kingdom of Nova Gersia. Wod to his closest family and friends. Trans male version of Wednesday. He collects his hair in two short but thick pigtails. Likes to wear black armor that makes him look like the stereotypical Dark Lord from a fantasy novel, but first impressions aside his personality is closer to that of a Gomez Addams.
Eneit Synklar (Chapter 35): Enid's variant from Wodnesdæg's dimension and his betrothed. A barbarian and werewolf princess Enid, extremely tall and muscular, usually dressed in furs or light leather armor. Very outgoing, affable and friendly, though she lacks a bit of tact and has no qualms about breaking in half anyone who messes with her loved ones.
[UPDATE] The Bright One: SPOILERS! Read the fic 😁
Now, the ones that are more cameos:
Chapter 43:
A golden tyrannosaurus Enid and her ape-like sidekick Wednesday, inspired by the original comic book versions of Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy.
A middle-aged futuristic soldier Enid.
A Wednesday who looks like a living marble statue with golden cracks adorning her skin and luminous white hair.
A Wednesday and Enid who look like stereotypical pirates.
Gargoyle Enid. A purple-skinned Enid with horns, tail and wings, inspired by the characters from the Disney series Gargoyles.
Chapter 45:
Cyborg-lycanthrope Enid.
Vampire Wednesday, armed with a spear.
Reverse Enid and Wednesday: A violent lycanthropic but black-furred Enid accompanied by a disturbingly extroverted blonde Wednesday.
The younglings: A group of five or six young Wednesdays, the oldest no older than seven.
Saiyan Enid: A brunette-haired martial artist Enid with ki abilities, orange robes, staff and monkey tail. Inspired by Dragon Ball, although it can be interpreted as a reference to Journey to the West as well.
Gunslinger Enid and Wednesday, as if out of a classic Hollywood Western.
Sasquatch Enid.
The witches: Two Enids, one of them in school uniform and wand-wielding, clearly inspired by the Potterverse novels/films or other similar works. The second Enid, with green skin and black clothes, pointy hat and broom is more inspired by The Wizard of Oz and Wicked.
Punk-looking Enid with cybernetic implants like blades in her arms. Inspired by Cyberpunk 2077.
Angelic Enid, alternates between a humanoid form with wings and a fire-wheel form with multiple eyes.
Hellboy Wednesday (Hellgirl?).
[UPDATE] Chapter 50:
A witch-like Enid with a talking cat familiar.

And like I don't mind Games Workshop making models for things that may not have existed as models previously (and I'm being very broad in my timescales here, as is my custom) but it does tend to lock down what people think and assume those things look like. Not a fan of that.
Like, how in the before-times Skitarii were mentioned but did not exist as models. Now they do, that's what Skitarii look like. They look like that, always always always.
No! Boring! Wrong! Bring on Dan Abnett's drugged-up cyborg barbarians! Way more fun!

Hector’s helmet in Lions & Men (sci-fi trojan war musical that I’m writing):
In The Iliad, one of Hector’s main epithets is “of the Shining Helm” (or flashing helmet depending on translator), which is one of my personal favorites because of a specific scene I’ll talk abt later
(I don’t have my iPad rn so excuse my finger drawings lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
most of the time in Battle, Hector has the first helmet, until he uses sort of like a power-up type thing (think Barbarian Rage in DnD), where the Mohawk comes out, which both looks more like Ancient Greek helmets and makes Hector look more like Ares
the helmet can just kind of vanish/disintegrate via cyborg magic that approximately nobody wants to hear abt, so it’s easy to just kind of click on & off
in Episode 5, when Hector goes to his wife & their baby after a battle, he leaves the Helmet on, causing the baby Astyanax to not recognize his father and start crying. This is a retelling of the scene from the Iliad I mentioned. It’s one of my favorites in the Iliad, so I knew I had to include it.
I love how it shows that what Hector is most known for (the helmet, representing war) is what scares his child the most; it makes him unrecognizable to his loved ones yet it is what he’s loved for; and a big theme in Lions and Men is what war does to people and how it changes them (this theme is VERY prominent in the Achilles storyline)
everyday I tell myself I need to get normaler abt Hector and everyday I fail
also some art of him w/o the helmet for those who haven’t seen it:

Profiles in Villainy
Gemini
In the post-apocalyptic realm inhabited by Thunder the Barbarian, Gemini was an evil cyborg sorcerer who ruled other the isle of Manhat with an iron fist.  As a strange result of his cybernetics, Gemini possessed something of a split-personality with each persona controlling one of the two faces on either side of his head.  There is a more aggressive and ill-tempered side as well as one that is more calm and diplomatic, yet no less evil. To switch from one persona to another, Gemini’s helmet closed over the current face, while his neck rotated around so to reveal the other face.
Gemini was defeated and seemingly killed in his first altercation with Thunder and his allies.  Yet the sorcerer survived and went into hiding as the wandering wizard known as Janis.  He would later hatch a scheme to gain dominion over the realm by raising an army of rock warriors.  Once more he battled Thundarr and this time it appeared as though the villain was vanquished once and for all as he was thrown into a magical pool that turned him to stone.
Actor Henry Corden provided the voice of Gemini.  The villain first appeared in the first episode of Thundarr the Barbarian, airing on October 11th, 1980.

Tolerance Project extra I’ll be back and he certainly was The Tolerance Project and The Terminator Franchise
Part One Terminator the first 3 films in the Series Terminator Terminator 2Judgement Day and Terminator 3 Rise Against The Machines
Introduction
Hello there and Welcome to a revised edition of a blog that looks at the Terminator film Franchise including the making of the original Terminator film from 1984 and the 2 sequels that followed it Terminator 2 Judgement Day and Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines for ease of reading the blog has been split in two chapters the second chapter deals with the other 3 films in the series Terminator Salvation Terminator Genysis and Terminator Dark fate as well as what links the film to the Toleramce Project
Today the 26th October marks the Terminator 40th Birthday of its original release at the cinema
Tumblr media
Overview
The Terminator is a 1984 American science fiction action film directed by James It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, a cyborg assassin sent back in time from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), whose unborn son will one day save mankind from extinction by Skynet, a hostile artificial intelligence in a post-apocalyptic future. Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) is a soldier sent back in time to protect Sarah. The screenplay is credited to Cameron and producer Gale Anne Hurd.
Defying low pre-release expectations, The Terminator topped the United States box office for two weeks, eventually grossing $78.3 million against a modest $6.4 million budget. It is credited with launching Cameron's film career and solidifying Schwarzenegger's status as a leading man. The film's success led to a franchise consisting of several sequels, a television series, comic books, novels and video games. In 2008, The Terminator was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.

Casting The Terminator
It's hard to believe, but it's been roughly forty years since James Cameron changed movies forever with the release of The Terminator in 1984. At just 30 years old, this was Cameron's breakthrough, with his only other feature film being the low-budget Piranha II: The Spawning in 1981. His story about a cyborg sent from the future to kill the mother of a future resistance leader against robots who have taken over the Earth set Cameron on a path to becoming one of the most influential filmmakers ever. Before any of that could happen, however, Cameron needed to find the perfect face for his robotic monster. As we all know, the role went to Arnold Schwarzenegger, sending his career into the stratosphere, but before it did, there was talk of another famous name playing the part. Then one conversation with James Cameron changed everything, shaping history into the form we now know it.
Tumblr media
Arnold Schwarzenegger Says O.J. Simpson Was the First Choice
In 1984, James Cameron might not have been famous yet, but Arnold Schwarzenegger was. He was the larger-than-life Austrian bodybuilder who had won seven Mr. Olympias and four Mr. Universe bodybuilding titles before transitioning to acting with roles in films such as Conan the Barbarian in 1982. Two years later, the same year a Conan the Barbarian sequel, Conan the Destroyer, was released, Arnold met with the unproven Cameron about his next project, a film with a much bigger scope than killer fish.
Cameron Says Simpson Was Never Considered To For ‘The Terminator’
In a 2023 interview with the eponymous host of Max’s talk show Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, James Cameron set the record straight about a persistent rumor over the decades about fallen NFL star running back O.J. Simpson being considered to play the Terminator.
During the interview with Cameron, Wallace asked the writer-director to explain how the supposed consideration of Simpson for the role began.
“Very early on, a highly placed person at one of the two studios that funded that film had a brilliant idea and called me up and said, ‘Are you sitting down?’ I said, ‘Well, no, I’m not.’ He said, ‘Are you sitting? O.J. Simpson for the Terminator!’ I said, ‘I actually think that’s a bad idea.’ It didn’t go anywhere,” Cameron told Wallace (via Variety).
Tumblr media
In a 2022 interview with Graham Bensinger, Schwarzenegger went into great detail about what those early interactions with James Cameron were like. Arnold said that when he got involved with the film, O.J. Simpson, then a beloved retired NFL running back who had transitioned to acting, was supposed to be the Terminator, with Schwarzenegger playing Kyle Reese, the good guy role who protects Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and fights against the Terminator. The role would eventually go to Michael Biehn. Arnold was told that he'd be meeting Cameron for lunch, because Cameron had to sign off on him playing Reese.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Convinced James Cameron To Give Him the Terminator Role Instead
At the lunch, Schwarzenegger told Cameron his thoughts about the film and focused on the Terminator, who he wasn't cast to play. He brought up Yul Brenner's killer robotic performance from Westworld, saying "Everything was kind of off because he was not like a human being, there was something wrong here, but you couldn't identify exactly what it was." Arnold was fascinated by Brenner's mechanical movements and told Cameron that whoever played Terminator had to be trained to act like a machine. "He cannot go and look down and have the magazine be put into the gun... This has to be done like a machine, therefore he has to be trained blindfolded."
Schwarzenegger said Cameron was impressed by his opinion and completely agreed. So, right then and there, he told Arnold, "There's no one who will understand the Terminator better than you, so therefore, I think we're all in agreement that you should play the Terminator." To this, Arnold said no. He saw playing the Terminator, who barely had any lines, as a regression in his acting career. He wanted to be Reese, who had all the lines and was more of a challenge. Cameron would not be dissuaded so easily. He told Arnold, "Trust me, I will shoot the character so that you're not only the number one villain they've ever seen, but the number one hero." Cameron told Schwarzenegger to go home and think about it for a few days. He did just that, going back and forth between visualizing himself as the hero and the villain. "Eventually one day I woke up and said to myself, you know, he's right. It would be the most memorable character if it's played right
The Terminator director James Cameron says Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t exactly who he had in mind to play the now iconic movie character.
The sci-fi movie classic will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its domestic release on October 26. In the film, Schwarzenegger stars as the title character—aka the T-800—a cyborg from the future who travels back in time to assassinate Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), the mother of a future leader of a war against AI machines who have become self-aware.
In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Cameron admitted that while Schwarzenegger isn’t the person he envisioned for the now-legendary role, he’s the reason for the longevity of the Terminator franchise.

Me and The Terminator Franchise
There have been 6 films in The Terminator franchise I must admit I have not seen them all so I won’t comment on those but I think the first 2 films in the series are the best ones in the franchise as a whole.
I would have stopped the series after Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines after all it would have made a nice little trilogy. I actually saw the 2nd Terminator film Judgement day first.

I only saw that because I was intriged by a spoof pop single in the British charts by Arnie and the Terminators which you can listen to by clicking here

Quite a lot of people seem to agree with me that perharps the Terminator Franchise should have stopped after Terminator 2 Judgement day in 1991 the film even had a different ending shot for it that would have stopped the franchise after 2 films as detailed here
The epic saga of the "Terminator" films nearly had a far more conclusive ending in its second installment. James Cameron initially planned for a future-set epilogue in which an older Sarah Connor watches her son John, now a senator, playing with his daughter in a peaceful, Skynet-free world.
This would have sealed the fate of our beloved characters, leaving no room for a sequel, let alone the multiple that followed. As apocalyptic as the "Terminator" franchise tends to be, it's amusing to imagine it wrapping up with a peaceful picnic scene.
Screenrant again published an article on their website called 10 Movies that should have ended the Franchise and Terminator 2 Judgement Day was on their list at number at number 7 this is what they had to say.
There are several reasons why Terminator 2: Judgment Day still holds up today. Apart from the impressive effects and performance that brought the T-1000 to life, Terminator 2 compellingly raised the stakes and further explored the plot's ethical implications. It also pulled off the impossible by turning the first movie's villain, the T-800, into a hero and father figure to John Connor. With Skynet's defeat, Sarah and John finally had a reason to be optimistic in the ending, which brings the story to a full circle. The disappointing events of Terminator 3 and the succeeding reboot sequels only strengthen Judgment Day's place among movies that should have ended the franchise.
Reading those comments myself its very hard to disagree with them also this article from the CBR.com website explains why the Terminator film series should have perharps stopped at Terminator 2 Judgement Day https://www.cbr.com/t2-perfect-end-terminator-series/
Also the yard Barker website included it in a list of films in article called Sequels that could have worked as standalone films this is what they had to say:
James Cameron’s original Terminator is a hallmark of sci-fi and action cinema, and, if anything, its sequel is even better. In this case, the story focuses on Sarah Connor, her son John, and their unlikely ally, the T-800. The entire cast is at the top of their game, though, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger is a highlight as the Terminator. Throughout the film, Cameron showcases his skills as a director, and it’s a film that only grows in importance and relevance as AI becomes a more pronounced and undeniable part of everyone’s daily life, for better and for worse.
James Cameron himself explained why he felt Terminator 2 Judgement day was the best of the Terminator films he directored
During a recent interview with Empire Magazine (via Screen Rant), James Cameron, the visionary director behind the iconic Terminator franchise, offered insights into the evolution of the series and his personal growth as a filmmaker.
Cameron explains, "I look at each of those films as a slice of the cultural media zeitgeist of its time. The Terminator wasn't the first action film of the '80s. It was one of a group of action films, most of which came later. Army of one, giant body count, it was part of a zeitgeist. Terminator 2, there was a shifting consciousness. It was also just a better-made film. Physically better made, better realized. I look at them as moments in a career for me as a storyteller, that have specific meaning to me as well. Could I, with where I am now as a person, after all these school shootings, write The Terminator right now and get excited about it and want to go make it? No. I'm a different person, and that's fine too. That's the way it should be. We should evolve as artists. We should evolve as a society."

🤡 and 🧠 for the ask game!
PS I stumbled upon your time loop fic a few days ago and loved it, so you can imagine how stoked I was to see your new fic today! It was oh so painfully good 💕
Ahhh thank you!!! I'm glad people are largely being very sweet about how neglected that poor fic is because I do think about it a lot and feel very guilty! (For the fic ask game!)
🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?
A lot of my writing makes me laugh because I am a barbarian who laughs at their own jokes (I do this in conversation too, to mixed reception) but I've just been re-reading my demon fic for Halloween so, from the very beginning:
Cody seems to sense the slight tension in the room and thumps Obi-Wan on the back. “Now all we need is to set you up with someone. There’s a guy at work—” Quinlan wrinkles his nose. “What’s he going to say at the end of the date? ‘Hey baby, want to come back to my place? Eleven people met their grisly ends in my house, and if you play your cards right, you and I can be numbers twelve and thirteen’?”
I really like the whole first chapter of that fic! I think it's funny but also a bit spooky. Halloween vibes!
🧠 Pick a character, and I'll tell you my favorite headcanon for them.
I just pick someone? Okay! I think it's a super common headcanon but I do believe that Anakin runs cold. To me it explains his giant dark coloured robes, his mitten sleeves and his need for constant attention and cuddles or else he'll immediately die. I think it makes sense given where he's from and because the dark side is cold, right? Anyway maybe Obi-Wan was hoping that setting Anakin on fire at the end of Mustafar would result in a Cremation of Sam McGee situation but instead he got a murder cyborg who torments the galaxy for twenty years. If only someone had thought to buy Anakin an electric blanket when he was a Padawan instead!

How all my dragonborns sound/their accents:
Poppy: yeehaw cowboy Cole Cassidy. I’m not even joking Poppy isn’t just my character but he’s a shared Oc amongst my dnd group who all enjoy both the elder scrolls and Overwatch. Our dm made him purely because he wanted a cowboy cyborg dwemer npc so he could practice his Cole Cassidy impression and he loves how we’ve all adopted him as our own in so many different ways.
Bass: Extremely deep baritone voice with a slight African accent. Though with his voice regulator on he sounds closer to South African or English with a very robotic undertone.
Henwen: A deep but very soft spoken voice with a Welsh English accent that can quickly switch to old Norse Viking when he’s tapped into his atmoran roots and screaming a battle cry that could send enemies running as they shit themselves.
Riiju-Lei: A Nordic accent but with hints of argonian roughness and occasional dunmer inflections. He’s a polyglot and often jumbles words from different languages but he’s often very gentle in his tone if not a bit direct.
Shamat: Soft spoken dunmeri accent teetering on Australian. His voice is quite deep but as a healer and someone wanting to befriend all he tends to lower his tone to a softer more approachable level.
Flynt: Irish, English/American accent. Raised in Cyrodiil he grew up knowing bosmeri thanks to his father and other bosmer in the community but due to how heavily ostracised they were at the time he adapted a more imperial accent. Though get him flustered and angry enough and he will quickly switch back to his bosmeri/Irish accent. He’s very confident in himself and in what he wants, though once he’s blinded and loses his ability to speak hes left only able to communicate through slurred and sad attempts at speech. Made even harder if he’s upset.
Dune: A very deep but surprisingly eloquent orcish voice, not as rough as most orcs but still capable of growling low enough to emphasise a point. Less of a barbarian and more of a mage/healer he speaks quite softly but can be confident among friends.
Aurorwren: his accent is a mix between Greek/Roman & old English. He’s very confident in himself and presents it clearly with how he speaks but around those he cares deeply for, particularly humans, he’s very softly spoken not wanting to be perceived as a threat to them in any way. Especially given his peoples reputation for cruelty.
Sylas: Welsh/English. He is rough and irritable at the best of times towards everyone except for Taliesin. His voice is deep and husky and he will use it in any way he can to seduce, persuade or intimidate others to get what he wants. But when alone with Taliesin and holding him tight the meanest he’ll get is a low growl in his ear during the throws of passion.
Vivienne: dunmeri/imperial accent, he spent most of his life in the city of blacklight but picked up English through the dwindling imperial influence throughout the city. Quite softly spoken and sweet when at peace. Under extreme distress voice will dip into Vivec’s voice, echoing with both his own and his past incarnation.
Marigold: English accent, formerly bosmeri/Irish. His fathers cruelty and etiquette lessons literally beat his accent into him. He’s clearly spoken and can be authoritative in his tone if needs be and he’s not afraid to be cutting with his words either. When physically weakened or vulnerable however, he can be very soft spoken displaying he needs gentle care.
Shen Lung: Mandarin/Nepali accent. Living his whole life on the isolated island of Akavir he’s unfamiliar with the imperial language adopted all across mainland tambriel however he is a polyglot and knows all the languages on his homeland from Akaviri, to the snake folk tongue, to his own Tang Mo. He’s a fast learner and picks up how to speak from interactions with team dragonborn. His voice is quite deep but softly spoken with a playful lilt. When startled he will scream like a monkey and if left with his thoughts will sometimes chirp like a marmoset or smaller primate.
Evalien: Modern Working class Australian accent. She’s from our world and has and will call Nazeem a cunt to his face.
Naria: Māori accent. He’s generally very friendly and approachable with his tone and accent, easily pulling anybody in with it and making them a friend. Under water however he clicks, trills and groans out like a dolphin or whale.
Wyrm: English accent. Growing up in the collage of winterhold with access to endless knowledge and tutoring he’s a polyglot and very eloquent in several languages including his native dunmeri. He has a soft, kind voice and it matches his introverted nature, however he can speak clearly and authoritatively if needs be. With his adopted father Urag however, he’s like any teenager and will whine and complain if he doesn’t get his way~
