In hindsight, Terminator Genisys coming out in 2015 was too late to comment on things like iCloud and Siri (which it was clearly inspired by, but by that point most people had already gotten used to), and ten years too early to be a biting commentary about the acceptance of Gen-AI and its ilk (Genisys/Skynet arguably has more in common with them, given that Cyberdyne visualized Skynet as a humanoid figure that can talk back to humans).

The writers' realization that the world as is has become a dream for Skynet due to modern tech, however, is arguably spot on.

EDIT: I saw someone say that, had Genisys come out these days, the T-3000's human persona would have definitely been an Elon Musk expy, and that's about right.
