OKAY. THIS SONG HITS DIFFERENT!

With Buddy dealing with his.. I'm gonna call it 'revelation', I can't express how much I am pleased with the fact that he sees everyone in a new light. INCLUDING HIMSELF!

Who has been playing a part? Who is Real? Who is Fake? Am I the ones who's fake? Is anything about me real?! Have I ever made any REAL decisions?

"AM I JUST A VESSEL FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S SOUND"- Holy. SHit. No joke, that hit me WAY too hard in a relatable way..

"I'm a product of pulling strings".... Damn...

'I might be a damn fraud but at least I'm changing.'... Well, I guess... but then again, you are the one that said that 'change doesn't happen in a day' in your campaign speech.. Would explain why you don't come clean at every opportunity to do so... Points for baby steps.

Then again, he doesn't want to lose his reputation.. Sounds much like his dad... And I hate to be that person but... "A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it." - Jean de la Fontaine.

The hands that hold him up on the wall don't let him fully fall until he roughly pulls away, looking pissed.. (Low-key giving me Labyrinth vibes though.)

When the hands come back out, he doesn't take them. Walks away instead.

And when he pulls the strings down and everyone drops...Like fucking puppets... OoOoh... LITTERAL CHILLS!

How he can barely breathe as he walks off stage.. His. World. Is. Rocked.

'I'm standing on the brink of being who everyone thinks'... Something about this makes me think of both good and bad things.. Like he could fall either way... Time will tell.

And the way he snaps at his father saying that it wasn't/isn't what he wanted... Thatta boy! Show some fire!

Okay, with that said, I need to add something else.

Buddy is a great foil for Richie.

With Richie, he doesn't try hard very much because he is told that he doesn't need to; due to the fact that he wont become much of anything except manual labor.

(To be clear I'm paraphrasing)

Richie has had a good part of his life dealing with these sucker punch blows to him, his status, his life, his family, his friends, his culture and after thousands of them, he's used to it and has almost accepted/expected it. He expects the punches to keep on coming.

Buddy NEVER has. He's 'tried' but he's never really had too because the work was already partially done for him. I like to think that where Richie just keeps getting pummeled in life, Buddy has been in the waiting wings for the sucker punch to the solar plexus that knocks you outta commission. Its had YEARS of buildup. And since he's had no prior dealings with this kind of emotional+ mental battery, the one hit is a doozy. His life is a (partially) fabricated lie. And by someone he trusts! His dad!

Think what you will, but these guys are two sides of the same coin.

One who thinks he tries but has never needed too. And One who can try but no one wants him too.

What's worse... Continues gut punches that never stop or one tsunami sized one that devastates you?

Did. Did you see Ortho's Broomquet preview? The fact that his broomquet is mostly white like Kalim's, Rook's and Silver's and that we know by now that Idia's ideal dreamworld involved OG!Ortho being still alive and a student at Royal Sword Academy is killing me. Twst is throwing hints left and right that OG!Ortho was meant to be a light magic user heroic character just to tug further at our heartstrings with his death and IT'S WORKING. I'M IN SHAMBLES.

as much as I am rolling around on the ground waiting for more of Silver and Sebek's Excellent Adventure, I am also SO desperate to see the resolution of Idia's dreamworld and, fingers crossed, more of dream!OG!Ortho. and I don't know how it would be physically possible, but I would LOVE the Orthos to actually meet somehow! bonus points if there's some kind of very confusing confrontation!

but I do really like the three-way contrast between OG!Ortho, what Idia thinks OG!Ortho would have been like, and humanoid!Ortho. especially since Ortho's post-episode 6 arc is all about becoming independent and his own person! I want to see more of it! and I can't really put it into words very well, but, like, I would LOVE this to be the resolution where Idia finally manages to come to terms with OG!Ortho's death -- man heard "niichan" once and immediately ran down a billion flights of stairs to throw himself into Metaphorical Hell, he needs something big like this.

(if the September schedule comes out and there's still no more main story, I am going to be DESPONDENT) (I mean I will be understanding because production takes time, no one should be subjected to crunch to meet arbitrary deadlines, a good product that takes longer >>> a rushed product that is out sooner) (but I shall also be despondent)

Red String of Fate AU

Most humans can't see them, it's usually witches and oracles who can. Ford doesn't have one, which isn't particularly unusual since not everyone has a soulmate, or they have a different kind of soulmate. Bill is like that too.

Fast forward, Bill dies, comes back as a human.

And the first time he looks at his hands he has to do a double-take because there's a string tied around his finger. And he looks at Ford and now FORD has a string too.

The reason Bill never had a string before is because they were in different dimensions and Bill didn't have an actual body made of matter instead of energy until recently.

Bill… he tries to remove it. Being close to people scares him, and he doesn't want it, at least at first.

He tries scissors. Enchanted scissors. Fire. Magical fire. Biting it. Scissors again. Untying it. Slipping it off his finger. Cutting off his finger (Stan stopped him). Cutting off his hand (that time Ford stopped him).

None of it works.

Ford is understandably concerned when he wakes up in the middle of the night on the cot in the basement to the sound of something moving around in his lab, and finds Bill with a surgical saw preparing to self-amputate. By then Bill is panicking. Nothing is working, he is permanently bound to Ford. And it's not that he dislikes Ford, not at all! He'd even say he's fond of the guy. But that string implies commitment, implies caring about someone else, implies Ford caring about him too. It scares him, and he wants it gone.

So when Ford confronts him, demands an explanation, Bill breaks.

He's so stressed and tired and anxious, this shitty human body won't let him calm down properly, he's been on the verge of a panic attack all day and Ford asking what's going on is the straw that broke the camels back.

Ford is even more concerned when Bill starts crying, collapsing into Ford's arms and holding on tight. He just. Can't. Can't deal with the chemicals in his brain and the fear and everything that's happened, and physical contact is a convenient little biological hack to make a body calm down. (That's what's he tells himself anyways) Bill tells him about the strings, that they're connected, bound, and he can't break them. He says it like an apology.

And then like, fluff happens idk.

so i grief her death by catching random pigeons off the street (i let em go after holding em for a bit)

I know the show can just switch some of the events of the plot around and it will mostly have the same effect, but I really wish the show had kept percy seeing the fates in the very beginning, before he even knew he was a demigod... there's just something so ominous about it in the book. How percy doesn't understand it but can recognize something is deeply wrong. The foreshadowing and impending doom of it all... the way the circumstances were forced so Percy had to see them... I think the scene is most unsettling, most powerful when we don't understand the significance of it in the moment, but in hindsight.
