Hello, we're Lavender Mars' owners. Our names are Diana and Priscilla. Lavender is a super cute and sassy 4lb Pomeranian who was diagnosed with bladder stones and a UTI. We noticed she wasn't her usual, upbeat self, and took her to her regular vet right away. She underwent surgery to remove the stones and was given antibiotics to treat her UTI. However, the antibiotics did not completely get rid of her UTI, which resulted in her having to go to the Veterinary Emergency Room. She is currently under their care and has not come home yet. An abdominal ultrasound revealed that she still has remaining stones in her bladder and will need surgery in the future to remove them.

We love Lavender very much and only want the best for her. We need help paying for her unexpected medical expenses from her current ER visit and for her future surgery. We greatly appreciate any help that you can give.

Lavender Mars was born in March 2021. She was the smallest of her siblings, and was born with physical abnormalities, as well as internal ones. Lavender was diagnosed with ectopic ureters, and recieved corrective surgery at 7 months old. She is a light in our lives, and is unforgettable to everyone she meets. We love her dearly, and only want to do what is best for her.

Nikon D60, Sigma 70.0-300.0 mm f/4.0-5.6

[EN] Alright then. That’s a wrap on my week with the Nikon D60.

This over-a-decade-old entry-level DSLR definitely has its flaws — no denying that. But I have to say, shooting with it was actually pretty enjoyable. Well… aside from a few ridiculous design choices.

For example: there’s Auto ISO — but only in fully automatic modes. Okay, fine, I can live with that.

But why, oh why, does the self-timer turn off after every single shot?! For real — every time I took a photo from a tripod, I had to dig back into the menu to switch it back on. What a weird quirk.

Color-wise? A little odd, but manageable. At lower ISOs, the files are surprisingly flexible. That’s cool.

But the real letdown? The lens. No wonder my friend couldn’t sell it (as I mentioned before). I expected it to be meh, but what I got at 300mm was downright awful. At 70mm, it's borderline acceptable — but once you zoom in? Total garbage. And to make it worse, there’s backfocus. Yay!

At longer focal lengths, it consistently focuses just in front of your subject. Combine that with the low resolution and optical flaws and… yeah. Unusable.

I took around 500 shots. A lot. I narrowed it down to about 100 — and even those, in many cases, made the cut only because the moment was worth it. My heart ached.

Anyway. Lesson learned. On to the next!

[PL] No dobra. Mam za sobą tydzień z Nikonem D60.

Kilkunastoletnia, amatorska lustrzanka ma swoje wady — nie da się ukryć. Niemniej jednak fotografuje się nią całkiem przyjemnie. No, pomijając pewne... debilne rozwiązania.

Jest na przykład ISO-Auto. Ale tylko w trybach automatycznych. No dobra, mogę to jeszcze przełknąć. Ale dlaczego samowyzwalacz wyłącza się po każdym zdjęciu?! O ja pierniczę! Po każdej jednej klatce ze statywu trzeba znowu wchodzić w menu i go włączać. Dziwactwo totalne.

Kolorystyka plików — trochę dziwna, ale do ogarnięcia. Na niższych czułościach jest nawet całkiem elastycznie. Spoko.

Ale to, co okazało się największym niewypałem, to obiektyw. Nie dziwię się już wcale, że moja znajoma nie mogła go sprzedać — pisałem o tym wcześniej. Spodziewałem się nieszczególnego obrazka i tyle. Ale to, co zobaczyłem przy 300 mm, to kaszana totalna. Przy 70 mm jeszcze w granicach przyzwoitości. Ale potem? Totalna kaszana potęgowana przez backfocus.

Na dłuższych ogniskowych obiektyw ustawia ostrość tuż przed fotografowanym obiektem. To, w połączeniu z niską rozdzielczością i innymi wadami optycznymi, daje efekt totalnie nieakceptowalny. Bue!

Zrobiłem jakieś 500 zdjęć. Dużo. Wybrałem z tego 100 — i w wielu przypadkach tylko dlatego, że szkoda mi było momentu. Serce bolało.

No nic. Następnym razem będę pamiętał.
