Meet Curtis

So I’ve had this Hazbin Hotel OC for a little bit now and I drew him tonight so I figured I may as well talk about him.

This is Curtis Moore. He died in 1998 at the age of 38 years old after he fell off of a building. Curtis was born in Texas in 1960 and moved around a lot between his teens and early twenties. He eventually ended up in New Jersey where he was introduced to both weed and stand up comedy. He loved both, and perused a career in the former. Curtis was successful in his ventures as he had a very bold sense of humor, interacting with the audience and frequently telling his raunchy stories.

When he died, Curtis emerged in hell and took his time to get used to things. With his newfound typhokinesis and a small gain in foresight, he took back the stage with a grand slam. He quickly gained popularity in his first decade in Hell, then in 2014 he decided to start going for a position as an overlord. He’s been slowly claiming souls since then by making deals to entrance people in his smoky comedy club to be happy with the endless jokes and sets. That takes us to the present where he’s now sending his laughing goons out to try and claim territory from the Vee’s. Curtis will occasionally do a snoop and slide to overlord meetings, but nobody really respects him as much as he’d like. It’s reasonable though.

His wings are retractable, but he keeps them out a lot of the time because it’s a good way to keep the focus on him when he’s taking up all that space.

One of my aunts and I are, again, doing a 'The Persuaders!' marathon and I ask you...

How come this hasn't turn into a big thing in Tumblr?

Look... I'm not usually a fan of shipping male leads but this show just lends itself to it... and (at least in the Spanish Dub) Tony Curtis' character makes jokes about it and for what I just saw on a Youtube short, he'd made jokes like that on set too!

C'mon tumblerinas do your magic!

In case that you need to know what this is about:

Lord Brett Sinclair (Roger Moore) and Danny Wilde (Tony Curtis) are two playboys that are recruited by a retired Judge to help him solve cases that he couldn't solve in the past.

It is never really explained why these two would be "dynamite!" as Judge Fulton says but Wilde has street smarts (kind of a juvenile criminal turned into oil-millonaire), Sinclair has... I guess, contacts and knowledge gained through his title, both of them served their countries and in a more confusing vein sometimes they have money and sometimes they don't (reason why the Judge can pressure them into doing his bidding).

Yes, in pretty much all of the episodes the main reason why they get involved is a girl (two if they are lucky) but sometimes they do end empty handed.

After a rocky start they develop a wonderful friendship based on picking on each other but with true love and care for each other's wellbeing. (And Danny calls Brett "my prince" A LOT).

I think that the most Tumbler-catnip episode for shipping is one called Angie...Angie where a Danny's old friend crosses paths with both and ends up being a person of interest. Brett is certain that Angie is guilty but Danny refuses to think so.

📽️ Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)

I love the first Avatar movie. I honestly don’t even know how many times I’ve seen it. So I was super excited for this one. I can’t say that it disappointed, but it was definitely different from what I was expecting. I can’t honestly say that I liked it better than the first one, although my sister did. I did enjoy the storyline, but I also felt it was a bit contrived with Quaritch pretty much coming back to life. I liked seeing Jake and Neytiri’s family, and I’m excited to see what happens with them in the next few movies. This movie was a good setup for those.

Sex/nudity: 1/10 (the Na’vi are semi-naked the whole time but they’re also aliens so idk)

Language: 5/10 (one f-word but quite a bit of other cursing)

Violence: 6/10 (a lot of battle scenes, some including deaths)

Overall rating: 8/10

P. S. I did watch this when it was in theaters; I’m just that behind in writing reviews 😬
