Cryptic Slaughter - The Lowlife Chronicles 1984-1988
Possibly one of the better crossover bands ever from the 80s.

Thank you so much!
And yes, there are many game characters that exist in the world aswell! I may explain it in a different post lol.
Here's my designs for the AU (that I totally didn't forget existed for almost 2 months-)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First one is Me! Scall!
Second are my OCs Flowerdrop and Snowy! (Father and daughter) In my Main AU, I ship Sundrop with Flowerdrop, bit I decided not to do that, as I'm not sure if Sun would be used in your AU for something else.

Do I trust Celia? No
Is she my favorite character so far?
Yes actually. I love her being all crypric, and a little bit unsettling.
It just really works for me ngl

Pebble, quick! Say something crypric!
"...The puppet would snap off of its strings, being one of its kind to do so. the thread was already thinned through time. With enough strength, the puppet would be able to lead the way."
"However, the puppeteer was plunged in darkness a long time ago, and would attempt to add more to its collection. Its fate is already sealed though, and it will fall just like the maker before it."
"How I know all of this? I don't f###ing know, I just get a feeling."

Usually this doesn't happen, but today, I woke up and started scetching a design for the Neutral Zone's crypric who lives in the engine room.
Tumblr media
He's a mix of parts and has a weird way of moving, but over all a nice guy. Although, a little bit snarky.
He's always covered in shadows, so, only a few, know what he looks like.
He's got more than two appendages on his back. But he hardly uses more than two. (Not counting his tail.)

4, 14, and 15 for the writer ask!
fanfic writer ask game!
4 - Do you prefer writing multi-chapter or oneshot fanfictions?
Honestly, I think I like them both equally! Oneshots are nice because they're done quickly and you can just take a lil snippet of an idea and express it, but multichap fics allow you to more fully develop and expand upon a world that you've created. Different ideas/concepts lend themselves better to different formats, so I think it's more that I get an idea that I want to write and then I determine what length of fic is necessary for me to tell the story properly!
(Though admittedly, I think I would like multichaps less if I didn't post each chapter as I wrote it--I like chatting about my stories and sharing them with people, and writing so much without sharing any of it would be hard for me.)
14 - Have you ever co-written a fic?
I have not! I'd be interested in doing it, but I'm not entirely sure how that works to be honest. Do you trade off who writes which scene? Does one person write it and the other person goes back and re-writes it? Do you just have a dialogue about every decision that you make in the fic? I've definitely brainstormed fic ideas with people, but I've done all the actual prose by myself.
15 - Are there words, phrases, mannerisms or scenes you tend to use a lot?
The two that immediately come to mind are:
Polysyndeton (eg. 'The apartment smells of smoke and iron and singed flesh.' where you repeat the same conjunction in quick succession. I do this almost exclusively with 'and.')
Anaphora (eg. 'The dagger that came back after John threw it over the edge of the plateau. The dagger that the King acted so goddamn crypric about. The dagger that was gifted to them by an entity John didn’t recognize and knows nothing about and who looked at them with mouth stretched into such a grotesque display of raw glee that it still makes John shudder to think about.' where you repeat the same word or phrase at the beginning of several successive sentences or clauses.)
I do these a lot (so much so that my English major friend told me the technical terms for them a few years ago), mostly to control pacing and to convey a certain emotion or mood. I love playing around with sentence and paragraph length in my writing because it can have a huge impact on tone and what a reader takes away from a particular scene (think like, an action scene in a big long paragraph versus broken up into short, choppy paragraphs). If I feel like a scene isn't flowing right, I try breaking up the sentences/paragraphs or combining them to see if that helps before rewriting things.
I also really love similes <3 similes my beloved <3

Maul has always been cryptic. It's part of his charm. It's also something Obi-Wan would never admit out loud to be part of Maul's charm, because then he'd definitely never get him to cease being crypric– or maybe if Maul knew that Obi-Wan finds that particular trait as charming as he does frustrating, he'd stop. You never know with Maul.
"I'd rather not look," Obi-Wan groans in response.
He knows his back is not a pretty sight, he can feel it, has been feeling it since the first moment the whip connected with flesh and will probably feel it for a while. But he doesn't have time to worry about that. Never has time to worry about himself, especially not when Ahsoka or Anakin are in danger and, right now, both Ahsoka and Anakin are in danger. There's also Rex, who Obi-Wan hasn't seen in a while now. He has to get out of that cell, get to them, and then they all have to solve this whole mess, save the Togrutas and any other slaves that the Zygerrians are keeping there, make sure this doesn't happen again, do their best for this to lead them to Dooku and perhaps to a chance to finally stop him for good.
The crimson light of Maul's lightsaber in the otherwise poorly lit cell blinds him for a moment, makes Obi-Wan's blood run cold and his stomach flip as Maul swings it into a long arch.
His wrists are alight with pain, but he also feels relief, when the chains succumb to the power of the lightsaber and gravity does the rest, bringing Obi-Wan down to the ground on his knees. He's definitely going to be sore as can be, once this is all over. But he finds comfort in the fact that he's getting closer and closer to it being over, with every passing moment. So, even if his body screams for rest, he doesn't linger on the floor long.
Obi-Wan has come a long way from the rebellious, prideful youth he used to be. But he still has some pride to him, and that means that he doesn't ask for help when it comes to standing up, pressing one hand to the nearest wall for balance as he stumbles to his feet.
"I have to get to Anakin, Rex and Ahsoka," he says, turning a tired and pained gaze to Maul. "And I need my lightsaber. You got in here, how's the situation out there?"
His back can wait, everything can wait. He has to get to the others and make sure they're okay. The force isn't being of much help right now. Obi-Wan can sense them, knows they're still on the planet, but he doesn't know if they're okay, just that they're alive, and given the Zygerrian hospitality he's been getting, he doubts being alive can be considered that much of a good thing right now.
The pain had become constant. Sometimes, his punisher waited a few seconds between strikes- most likely to wait for the pain to subside before the next crack of the whip against Obi-Wan's flesh, but even that became useless when the pain just settled. If he had to compare it to anything, Obi-Wan was pretty sure that what he was feeling was pretty close to if his back was on fire, with the crack of the whip only adding to it.
But he remains conscious, aware and as quiet as when he was chained up in the air by his wrists. He refuses to give his captors anything. No information. No sounds out of him. The only thing he's giving them is what he cannot control: his expression when the whip hits, the salty, cold sweat that clings to his face and the back of his neck, slides down his back and makes it sting even more. But his thoughts go to Ahsoka and Anakin, trying to focus between the cracks of the whip and reach to them, see if they're in a situation similar to his own. He prays to the force that they're okay, literally prays, his mouth moves even if no words come out, it gives him another thing to focus on, and makes one of the two in the cell with him laugh and say that Obi-Wan has lost his mind.
Then there's the sound of breaking metal, screams, sounds of breaking bones and something hitting either the wall or the floor repeatedly.
Obi-Wan manages to lift his head, pressing it against his own bicep for support as his hair clings to his forehead and temples. Then he hears the familiar voice and gazes further up, staring at Maul as if he's seeing a ghost, and not completely sure he's not hallucinating him– after all, he hasn't exactly been getting a lot of sleep or water. Hallucinations are an uncomfortably plausible possibility. Had he really lost his mind?
"What are you doing here?" he asks, voice hoarse and faint as his exposed chest rises and falls with each labored breath.
The motions make his shoulders shift, which makes his bad ache. He can feel his own blood dampening his pants all the way down to the back of his knees, warm and uncomfortably sticky as it dries. Without the constant abuse of the whip, Obi-Wan feels a little dizzy, but shakes his head to force the dark spots bordering his vision away and shifts, testing just how tight the shackles are around his wrists.
"I could use some more help," he says, motioning up to the force-restraining shackles. "Unless you came here for the show."
He doubts that, because if Maul was here to watch then he wouldn't have killed the people who'd been causing Obi-Wan pain in the first place. There's always the chance that Maul wants to pick up the whip and do it himself, after all, they've got a long story of making each other suffer, but everything Obi-Wan thought he knew about Maul has turned upside down after their last encounter- he can't even really call it a duel or a confrontation, just that: an encounter.
