Striking New York Times tech workers have created a “Guild Builds” page dedicated to strike-themed games you can play, including a spin on Wordle, a word search, and the custom Connections I reported on earlier today. As part of its strike announcement on Monday, the New York Times Tech Guild requested that people don’t cross the digital picket line to play the NYT’s daily puzzle games. This collection of five other games offers an alternative if you want to support the striking workers but also do some brain teasers.

NYT Guild Tech on strike: No Games, no Cooking, no crossing picket lines!

ULP STRIKE ALERT: Our New York Times Tech Guild members have walked off the job despite making every effort to negotiate with management. Our members know their worth and they will prove that at the picket line today. Our NYT Guild members have pledged not to do struck work, or tasks that would normally be done by our strikers. That’s a right they have in their contract. While the NYT Tech Guild is out on this ULP strike, we want New York Times subscribers to not play any of the Times games like Wordle or Connections or use the Cooking App because doing so would cross the digital picket line. He’d find your quoting confusing at first, link would genuinely not understand the references- though he’d familiarize himself, so he’d be caught up for the next hYaH.

He’ll indulge your quoting- finding ways to keep you talking. Link may not always understand your references, but he’s elated to see you enjoying yourself to the fullest <3

But anytime You were touching him, he’d be over the moon.

This small action will definitely be overlooked and taken to heart- he’s probably more fixated on the feeling of your hand on his shoulder, rather than registering what you said

re-reading the teacher's guide to The Lightning Thief is making me think maybe the reason everything post-first series started falling apart is cause Rick stopped writing teaching guides for the books at some point and in those he talks a lot about his thought process behind the books and different scenes and the topics he's addressing within them.

similarly im wondering about comparing how he talks about his goals and the thought processes being different aspects of TLT and how that compares to the execution in the TV show and examining where it fails based on what TLT is supposed to be about

He still collects physical newspapers. He likes to do the crosswords.

He knows he could do them online or buy a book of crosswords, but something about the smell and the feel of the paper and the morning routine...

In case you haven't heard, the NYT Tech Guild is on strike and trying to get a fair contract.

They are asking us to support their picket line by NOT using the NYT Games or Cooking Apps.

Was thinking about what video games Danny would like and it hit me, man would fuck everyone’s shit in Among Us. He would terrorize the shit outta other players then gaslight all of them into turning on each other. It’s one of his favorite things

Danny is the one friend in the group that absolutely decimates in any around that he's an imposter, and sometimes even when he's not he'll still lie about shit for funsies. It gets to a point that as soon as a new round starts everyone immediately calls an emergency meeting to eject him within 15 seconds.
