Very cool cross-cultural dress I came across on Google: Uber Dandy Kimono's red samakaka yukata

I'd never heard of samakaka print before seeing this online. According to Continent Clothing: "a Samakaka is a fabric or clothing with symbols typically from the Mumuila tribe." and on the Uber Dandy Kimono website it is described as a "tribal Angolan (samakaka) print".

Lately I've found cross-cultural kimono and yukata super interesting, and it feels like its very easy to mix any cultural or popular design into a kimono because there's no requirement for specific colors or patterns.

For the first time since I started reading Melanie Moreland's books, I had to walk away and collect myself before returning to the book. Not because it's not good. It's nothing less than I expect from a book by this author. Instead, it's because I connected a little too well with The Addendum. I can relate to Ashley's story on a very personal level. Of course, there are some differences, but the important stuff is eerily similar. So, I know those feelings, good and bad, because I felt them myself. So, when Ashley reveals herself, I had to take a break. Then there were a few more times as the story progressed, and I certainly shed my share of tears. That said, I at no time entertained the idea of not finishing this book. I love these characters. All of them, from Richard and Katy to the many blended families of BAM, I feel like they're old friends and I do visit with them from time to time. So, yes, parts of this were a bit hard for me, and I realize I've been vague but I'm trying not to give too much away. I would highly recommend this whole series, and when you get to this one? Well, let me just say that the many emotions touched on were all spot on. My family and I can speak to that because we felt them. Besides the elements I've mentioned, this is a book about not one, but 2 couples. One reaching retirement age and one just starting out. I love that both had that fire and passion between them. I love that Richard and Katy are still as attracted to each other as they've ever been. And for me, The Contract series just moved up another notch on my favorites list (not that it was ever far from the top).

I'm calculated and respectful in the way I speak to my coaches, the owners, and the media. I've never taken a risk... until her. I could blame it on the fact that for once I pushed away the pressure of my career for the ocean waves, the sand, and good times with my new teammates. But those are excuses because the minute I saw her at the airport, something lit up inside me and the best week of my life was spent with her in my bed. After our week in paradise, we said goodbye, exchanged phone numbers and both assumed that unless one of us was flying through the other's city on the opposite side of the country, our vacation fling was over. Then one night after practice I see her. She's here. In my city. Telling me she moved here for a job. If that's not fate tell me what is. I've never wanted a second shot more than I do this time, but she's determined to leave what we were on the island we left behind.

MY THOUGHTS: ⭐⭐⭐

I live for second chance romances...but the latest in the Hockey Hotties series fell short for me because the plot twist—despite being very obvious—was a major nope for me. I really liked Ande and Cory when they were introduced in a previous novella, and while it's not necessary to read it, I do think that if you want to go into this story liking these characters, it's worth it. Because from the get-go in this book, neither Cory nor Ande makes a good impression. I wish they'd had the spark in this book that they did in the novella. Instead, their was a lot of deception on Ande's part and I really disliked how she treated both Cory and her friend, Trevor. So why am I giving even 3 stars for this book? The answer is simple-its for the other characters in the series. I love how much page time the couples from previous books get, and I enjoy every their friendships. Whether it's karaoke, bowling night, or just talks in the locker room, I feel like I know the other players and their partners. The final pages of this book had me cheering for what I hope to be the next featured couple. The future of the Florida Fury is gonna' be fantastic!
