MINI BLOG!! 🥳 When a Need Looks Like a Want——- My 3 yo absolutely loves to draw and paint. If I buy him a sketch book from the Dollar store, he fills it up in 3 days. One evening at 9:30 at night, less than a week after we moved into our new home, my 3 yo decided he wanted to paint. He asked, and I explained it was bedtime and he could paint in the morning.... Storyboards from a WIP comic. I'm trying a new creative development strategy where I do sequential art projects in passes. The first pass is the storyboard, the second pass is the start of thr final lineart, and the third is all the finer details. I like it so far! It keeps me focused and I have a clear plan of what to do.

Creative Dev Log#1
22 September 2019. Week 1. Blog Post 1.
I was putting a lot of thought into what I would like to do for my creative development this term, and I’ve finally come to a solid conclusion. I’m hoping we can use other subjects’ work in this term, specifically game design.
I would like to blog about the process of creating the game I have to make this term and seeing as the final I will be handing in here won’t be exactly the same as my final hand-in for game design itself, it technically does not count as “self-plagiarism” - as some would say.
That is what I’ll be doing. I’ll be showcasing the process of my growth in game design by designing either a 3D or 2D horror game or a story driven 2D or 3D game in unity. That will be my plan and submission for my creative process in term 3 as game design is an ongoing and growing process to make something good from nothing.

The strawberries #top40 Lyndsae and I did a very red duet at Links Hall in 2006 with a long red scarf I knitted that reached across the room and attached to the radiators. There were strawberries involved - the duet might have been called Fruit? I danced the whole thing with a strawberry in my mouth, I remember. We also gave a box of strawberries to a random audience member to do whatever they wanted. Creative Process
10th FEB 2021
As a group, we first discussed the type of experimental outcome we were planning on using, from image to sound and others. We soon then decided to stick to the imagery outcome. We determined to come up with mind-maps to gather information about the problems related to Covid-19 that would help us forming ideas for our project. Margarida created a rough annotation from the discussion we had in the first group meeting.

We then had to nominate someone to be a web admin for our group. Priya volunteered herself and started working on downloading the WordPress and Tumblr account for us to upload our work. With the help of our tutors, we were able to set up an account.
13 FEB 2021
Simultaneously, the group started working on each individual blog posts related to Art and Memory. Every member of the group posted three blog different examples related to Art and Memory, as well as two separate blog posts each, about the first group activities: Belbin and Myers-Briggs and Tuckman’s Five stages of group formation.
18 FEB 2021
We soon came up with three final ideas that could incorporate into our project, which has been explained in detail in a separate blog post.
After our group meeting with our tutor, Mr Ian W. was very pleased with our proposal and gave us some advice on manners to improve our work. He suggested combining ideas 1 and 3 to create our final artefact. Afterwards, as a group, we engaged in brainstorming to create a final concept in which we could combine both approaches. We incorporated ‘Remembering Covid-19 life through Photography’ and ‘Virtual Time Capsule’ and generated our potential final idea, which has also been explained in detail in a separate blog post.

Considering our test runs' aesthetic and communicative properties, we have successfully portrayed our daily lockdown life, continuous and feels like it is going on forever, just like our perpetual gifs. Lockdown life can be repetitive, so these gifs are in a neverending loop, losing touch of where they begin and end. Here, we managed to communicate our mundane daily activities in a surreal moment in time. Aesthetically, it works having stillness and movement in all these gifs. It adds depth and looks visually pleasing, and shows that we are still watchful and waiting for life to go back to how it used to be, while lockdown rules, infection, and death rates continuously change around us.
25 FEB 2021
In our last meeting with our tutor, Mr Ian W. gave us a suggestion where, instead of working on 5 gifs in total, we could produce more gifs, making it look interesting. We further discussed how we several ways to do the remaining gifs. We came to a conclusion where each one of us will work on three different gifs.
1 - one where we have already started working (1 picture per day at the same hour).
2 - choose another object and background and take 1 picture per hour (all in the same day) for 7 hours. For example from 10h-16h / 13h-19h.
3 - choose another object and background and take 1 picture in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 1 at night (do this for two days)
This way, the final artefact will present fifteen different gifs on the webpage, all moving simultaneously and showing different lives through the lockdown.
