Ultimate Makeup Kit Combo: Essentials Sorted
Title: Unlocking the Secrets of the Perfect Makeup Kit Combo
Introduction
In the realm of beauty and cosmetics, a well-curated makeup kit combo is akin to a painter's palette, offering an array of colors, textures, and tools to create stunning looks. Whether you're a makeup enthusiast or a professional artist, having the right combination of products is essential for achieving flawless results. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the components of the perfect makeup kit combo, from essentials to specialized items, and provide tips for assembling your own.
The Foundation: Essentials for Every Makeup Kit Combo
Primer
The foundation of any makeup look begins with a good primer. This essential product creates a smooth canvas for makeup application, blurs imperfections, and helps makeup last longer throughout the day.
Foundation
Next, a versatile foundation is key to achieving a flawless complexion. Choose a formula that matches your skin type and provides the desired coverage, whether it's sheer, medium, or full.
Concealer
Concealer is a multitasking product that camouflages blemishes, dark circles, and other imperfections. Opt for a creamy formula that blends seamlessly into the skin for a natural-looking finish.
Setting Powder
To lock makeup in place and control shine, setting powder is a must-have. Look for a translucent or tinted powder that mattifies the skin without adding heaviness or texture.
Eyes: Enhancing Your Natural Beauty
Eyeshadow Palette
An eyeshadow palette is a versatile addition to any makeup kit combo, offering a range of shades and finishes to create endless eye looks. Choose a palette with a mix of neutral and statement colors to suit any occasion.
Eyeliner
Whether you prefer a classic pencil, liquid, or gel formula, eyeliner is essential for defining the eyes and adding depth to your look. Opt for a waterproof formula for long-lasting wear.
Mascara
No makeup look is complete without mascara. Choose a formula that lengthens, volumizes, and defines lashes for a wide-eyed effect.
Cheeks: Adding a Pop of Color
Blush
A touch of blush adds a healthy flush to the cheeks and helps sculpt the face. Opt for a powder or cream formula in a flattering shade that complements your skin tone.
Bronzer
Bronzer adds warmth and dimension to the complexion, creating a sun-kissed glow. Choose a matte or shimmer formula depending on your desired finish.
Highlighter
For an illuminated complexion, highlighter is essential. Apply to the high points of the face, such as the cheekbones, brow bone, and cupid's bow, to add radiance and luminosity.
Lips: The Finishing Touch
Lipstick
A versatile lipstick palette is essential for creating a range of lip looks, from subtle nudes to bold statement colors. Choose a mix of matte, satin, and gloss formulas for versatility.
Lip Liner
Lip liner helps define the lips and prevent lipstick from feathering or bleeding. Choose a shade that matches your lipstick for a seamless finish.
Gloss
For added shine and dimension, lip gloss is a must-have. Choose a clear or tinted formula to enhance the natural color of your lips or layer over lipstick for added depth.
Tools of the Trade: Brushes and Applicators
Foundation Brush/Beauty Blender
A foundation brush or beauty blender is essential for achieving a flawless base. Use a brush for precise application or a beauty blender for seamless blending.
Eyeshadow Brushes
A set of eyeshadow brushes is essential for creating a variety of eye looks. Look for brushes in different shapes and sizes for precise application and blending.
Blush Brush
A fluffy blush brush is essential for applying blush and bronzer to the cheeks. Choose a brush with soft, synthetic bristles for seamless application.
Conclusion
A well-curated makeup kit combo is the cornerstone of any beauty routine, offering the tools and products needed to create stunning looks with ease. By investing in high-quality essentials and versatile products, you can build a kit that meets your needs and allows you to express your unique style. Whether you're a makeup novice or a seasoned pro, the key is to choose products that inspire creativity and enhance your natural beauty. Tutorial On How To Makeup In 2023 : Atoz Guide
Tumblr media
In the world of beauty and self-expression, makeup serves as an art form that allows individuals to enhance their features, boost their confidence, and explore their creativity. Whether you're a makeup beginner or looking to refine your skills, this step-by-step tutorial will guide you through the process of achieving a natural and polished makeup look. Let's dive into the wonderful world of makeup artistry.
Step 1: Prepping the Canvas
Tumblr media
Before you begin applying makeup, it's essential to start with a clean and moisturized face. Follow these steps: - Cleansing: Gently cleanse your face using a mild cleanser to remove dirt, oil, and impurities. Pat your face dry with a clean towel. - Moisturizing: Apply a lightweight, hydrating moisturizer to provide a smooth base for your makeup and keep your skin nourished. - Priming: To ensure your makeup lasts all day, apply a primer suitable for your skin type. This step helps to minimize pores, even out the skin's texture, and create a seamless canvas for makeup application.
Step 2: Achieving Flawless Complexion
Tumblr media
A flawless complexion forms the foundation of any makeup look. Follow these steps for a natural and even skin tone: - Foundation: Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and type. Using a makeup sponge, brush, or your fingers, blend the foundation evenly across your face, focusing on areas that need coverage. - Concealer: Apply a creamy concealer to cover blemishes, under-eye circles, and redness. Blend gently using tapping motions to avoid smudging. - Setting Powder: Set your foundation and concealer with a translucent setting powder. This step prevents creasing and controls excess shine. - Blush: Add a touch of blush to the apples of your cheeks, blending upwards and outwards for a natural flush.
Step 3: Enhancing the Eyes
Tumblr media
The eyes are the windows to the soul, and makeup can make them even more captivating. Follow these steps for a subtle and elegant eye look: - Eyeshadow: Apply a neutral eyeshadow shade all over your eyelids. Add a slightly deeper shade to the crease for depth and dimension. - Eyeliner: For subtle definition, apply a thin line of eyeliner along your upper lash line. Choose from pencil, gel, or liquid eyeliner, and create a wing if desired. - Eyelash Curling: Gently curl your lashes with an eyelash curler to open up your eyes and create a wide-eyed effect. - Mascara: Apply mascara to your upper and lower lashes. Wiggle the wand at the base of your lashes and sweep upwards for volume and length.
Step 4: Perfecting the Brows
Tumblr media
Well-groomed eyebrows frame the face and add a polished touch to your makeup. Follow these steps for beautifully defined brows: - Filling In: Use a brow pencil, powder, or pomade to fill in your eyebrows. Create short, feathery strokes that mimic natural hair for a realistic look.
Step 5: Luscious Lips
Tumblr media
Complete your makeup look with perfectly painted lips. Here's how to achieve a beautiful lip look: - Lip Color: Choose a lip color that complements your overall look. Apply a lip balm or primer first to ensure smooth application. - Lip Liner: Outline your lips with a lip liner that matches your lip color. This step helps prevent feathering and provides a clean edge. - Lipstick: Fill in your lips with your chosen lip color using a lipstick or lip brush for even application.
Step 6: Setting the Masterpiece
Tumblr media
To ensure your makeup stays fresh all day, finish with these final steps: - Setting Spray: Mist your face with a makeup setting spray to lock in your makeup and enhance its longevity. With this step-by-step tutorial, you're well on your way to mastering the art of makeup application. FAQ
Certainly, here's a set of frequently asked questions (FAQ) related to makeup application and tips on achieving a flawless look: Q1: I'm new to makeup. Where should I start? A1: Starting with the basics is key. Begin with a clean and moisturized face, then apply a lightweight foundation and concealer to even out your complexion. Gradually experiment with eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and lip color as you become more comfortable. Q2: How do I choose the right foundation shade? A2: Testing foundation shades along your jawline is a good approach. The shade that seamlessly blends with your skin without leaving a noticeable line is the right one for you. Q3: What's the purpose of primer? A3: Primer creates a smooth base for makeup application, helps makeup last longer, and minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines. Q4: How can I make my eyes look bigger? A4: Apply a light, neutral eyeshadow on your eyelids and a slightly deeper shade in the crease. Use white eyeliner on your waterline to make your eyes appear larger. Curl your lashes and apply mascara for added effect. Q5: What's the best way to apply eyeliner? A5: Apply eyeliner close to the lash line for a natural look. You can create a thin line for subtle definition or a thicker line for more drama. Use short, controlled strokes and practice for precision. Q6: How do I prevent my lipstick from feathering? A6: Apply lip liner around the edges of your lips to create a barrier. Choose a long-wearing lipstick formula and consider using a lip primer or setting powder. Q7: My makeup tends to crease. How can I prevent this? A7: Use an eyeshadow primer before applying eyeshadow to prevent creasing. Apply less product in areas prone to creasing, and set your makeup with a translucent setting powder. Q8: How can I achieve a natural "no-makeup" makeup look? A8: Opt for neutral and earthy tones. Use a tinted moisturizer or light coverage foundation, subtle eyeshadow, minimal eyeliner, and a nude lip color. The goal is to enhance your features while still looking natural. Q9: What's the proper order of makeup application? A9: The general order is: primer, foundation, concealer, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, brows, blush, and lips. However, feel free to adapt this order to your preferences. Q10: How do I choose the right makeup brushes? A10: Invest in a few high-quality brushes for different purposes: foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, blending, and blush/bronzer. Synthetic brushes are good for liquid products, while natural bristles work well with powders. Q11: How do I fix makeup mistakes? A11: Keep makeup remover wipes or a cotton swab dipped in makeup remover on hand for quick fixes. For foundation or concealer mishaps, gently blend with a damp makeup sponge. Q12: How do I make my makeup last all day? A12: Use a makeup setting spray at the end of your routine to lock in your makeup. Additionally, setting powders can help control oil and extend wear. Remember, makeup is about expressing your unique style and enhancing your features. As you practice and experiment, you'll develop your techniques and preferences. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and have fun with your makeup looks! Read the full article

Makeup Products for Beginner
Whether you're new to makeup or have been experimenting with it for years, having a collection of beauty essentials that will help you to create a go-to everyday look is key. It's a lot easier to add fun or fashionable makeup products to your collection and incorporate them into your beauty looks once you've mastered the basics.
Tumblr media
Makeup Essentials – Face:
1. Face Primer
While some people believe that face primer isn't necessary, I consider it to be an essential part of my makeup procedure.
Face primers have a variety of impacts on your face and makeup, but their main goal is to keep your skin smooth and your makeup appearing fresh all day. Whether you're searching for a product to regulate oil and/or acne, hydrate, smooth out uneven texture, colour correct, or anything else, there's a primer for you.
Tumblr media
2. Foundation
Foundation is undoubtedly the most difficult component of your makeup regimen to master, because you must consider not only the level of coverage you like (sheer/natural, medium, or full), but also your skin type and undertones.
If you're new to foundation or aren't sure which type or shade is best for you, I recommend visiting your local Sephora, MAC, or department store and having a makeup artist assist you in selecting one that matches your skin tone and meets your coverage requirements. Requesting a sample is also a smart idea if you want to check how a formula feels on your skin before purchasing it.
Even if you prefer to buy foundation at a drugstore, I recommend that you get matched at a higher-end store first. This will help you figure out which colours to look for.
Tumblr media
3. BB Cream
I prefer BB cream to traditional foundation because it gives a more natural appearance. If you're searching for a product with skincare advantages like moisturizing or priming, this is an excellent choice (some BB creams have primer built in).
Furthermore, if you are new to makeup, a good BB cream is a better place to start than foundation because it feels lighter on the skin, is difficult to overdo, and can be applied with your fingers. One significant disadvantage of BB creams is that they typically come in limited shade ranges and do not cater to darker skin tones.
Tumblr media
4. Concealer
Concealer is a must-have if you have acne, dark circles, or any other type of discoloration.Concealers are available in full-coverage and sheerer-coverage formulations, and which one you should use depends on how much you want to conceal.
When selecting a concealer for acne and/or discoloration, choose a shade that is as close to your foundation/BB cream shade as possible for the most natural look.
Dark circles are a little trickier to conceal because there is so much variation in their shades and how they appear on different skin tones, but in general, a peach or pink-toned concealer will do the trick.
Tumblr media
5. Blush
Applying blush can have a significant impact on your overall appearance, and I never leave it out of my makeup routine. Blush is especially important if you're wearing a foundation with more opaque coverage, which can leave your skin looking a little flat. Blush is available in powder, gel, and cream forms, with powder being the most popular. However, cream and gel blush have recently gained popularity.
When selecting a blush colour, choose one that will give you a natural flush. Regardless of your skintone, avoid going too bright or applying with too heavy a hand, as these can make you look clownish.
Pink and peach tones look best on fair-to-medium skin tones, while mauve, purple, and maroon tones look best on darker skin tones.
Tumblr media
6. Highlighter
Highlighter, like many other beauty products, comes in a variety of forms, including powder, cream, liquid, stick, and powder/cream hybrid. Each of these forms has its own set of advantages, but for beginners, I recommend powder or stick because they are the easiest to work with.
My go-to highlighter application technique is to lightly dab it along the bridge of your nose, the tops of your cheekbones, your cupid's bow, and just below your brows. You can even use your highlighter as an eye shadow!
Finally, finding the right shade of highlighter, like finding the perfect shade of foundation, is dependent on your specific skin tone and undertones, so it's a good idea to test out different colours in person if possible.
Tumblr media
7. Bronzer
Using the right shade of bronzer is essential if you want to achieve a sun-kissed look. I suggest going no darker than one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone, and lightly dusting it all over the high points of your face for a healthy glow, or simply in the hollows of your cheeks (below where you'd put your blush) for a more chiseled look. In either case, use a light hand and blend thoroughly.
The choice between matte and shimmery depends on the rest of your look: If you're using all matte products on your face and want to add some radiance, try something with a bit of sparkle. However, if you're already wearing shimmery makeup, stick to a matte formula to avoid shine overload.
Tumblr media
8. Setting Spray/Powder
Setting spray/powder, like face primer, works to keep your makeup in place all day.
There are various formulations available depending on the type of finish you want (matte, radiant, etc.) and what skin care benefits, if any, you want your setting spray/powder to have (e.g. moisturizing, oil-absorbing, etc.). But, if you want your makeup to last, don't skip this step.
Tumblr media
Makeup Essentials – Eyes:
9. Eye Primer
My eye makeup would literally be virtually gone within two or three hours before I started using eye primer, so it's been a lifesaver for me.
Not only should a good eye primer keep your eye makeup from sliding off, fading, and creasing, but it should also have a formulation that keeps colours appearing true to how they should all day.Keep in mind that eye primers aren't just for oily skin–there are a variety of hydrating, color-correcting, and anti-aging formulations in the market.
Tumblr media
10. Eyeshadow
Eye shadow is my favourite cosmetic product, along with highlighter, because it comes in so many various hues and finishes and can be used in so many different ways.Finding makeup colours and tones that match your eye colour is a terrific method to make your eyes stand out.
Always define your crease, regardless of the style you're striving for - from natural to smoky. By blending the shadow into the crease, you may create depth to your eyes and make them appear larger. The key is to use a soft fluffy brush to build up the eye shadow in a back-and-forth motion.
Tumblr media
11. Eye Pencil
If I had to choose only one cosmetics product to wear before leaving the house, it would undoubtedly be eye pencil (or kohl). Because "eyes speak louder than words," I believe they should always be highlighted.
Always begin at the outside corner and work your way inwards while using an eye pencil. Always use tiny strokes and don't be afraid to press the pencil towards the waterline. You will not injure yourself while performing this task. Eye pencils are creamy and silky since they are made with the area in mind where they will be utilized.
Tumblr media
12. Mascara
Mascara has a magical way of bringing your entire eye look together, and it comes in a variety of formulas to lengthen, thicken, and curl your lashes.
Most individuals can get away with black mascara, but if you have really light-colored lashes, you might want to try a brown mascara instead for a more natural effect.
Tumblr media
13. Eyeliner
Eyeliner, like mascara, may offer that additional something to truly make your eyes pop.
While black eyeliner is frequently considered a must-have, if you have lighter skin, try brown or dark grey. Eyeliner may be applied in a variety of ways, but my preference is to draw a fine line at the lash line and wing it out just a little beyond my eye.If you want to make your eyelashes look thicker, line the waterline with eyeliner. Eye pencils and kohl products created exclusively for this delicate area are available.
If you're concerned of messing up with liquid eyeliner, I recommend lining your eyes first with a similar-colored eye shadow or pencil liner, then going over that line with the liquid liner.
Tumblr media
Makeup Essentials – Lips:
14. Lip Gloss
Lip gloss was popular in the early to mid-2000s, but has lately resurfaced, with trendy brands such as Anastasia Beverly Hills, Glossier, and Fenty Beauty all offering their own variations.
When you're in a hurry, don't have access to a mirror, or when the rest of your makeup is more dramatic and calls for a subtler lip, go for lip gloss.
Tumblr media
 15. Lipstick
You can't dispute that lipstick is having a significant moment right now: whether you prefer a liquid or bullet formula, a glossy, satin, or matte finish, or a glossy, satin, or matte finish, there's a lipstick out there to suit your preferences!
Beginners should start with a colour that is near to their natural lip colour, as this is the easiest to apply and remove.
Once you've mastered that, it's a good idea to invest in a basic red that works with everything and can be worn to class or on special occasions. For a softer look, try a glossy formula or a lip balm, or a matte formula for a more glamorous look.In addition, I recommend wearing a red lip with minimal makeup or none at all.

French Girl Beauty Products for Bastille Day
Tumblr media
Embrace your inner French girl on Bastille Day
French people are known for many things: glamour, good food, and honestly... looking simply stunning without even trying. They’re also known for Bastille Day, a holiday on July 14th each year that celebrates French unity and culture. These festivities have made their way from France into other parts of the world, and it’s now encouraged for all to celebrate Bastille Day even if you don’t have French heritage. How, you may ask? You could always honor France by eating croissants and watching all your favorite rom-coms set in Paris, but we want to celebrate these fine people with a beautiful tribute to French girl makeup.
If you’ve ever met a French girl, you know that she’s just effortlessly chic. While most of us seem to need about fifty makeup products to achieve the “natural” look, the French are blessed with luminous skin and take a more minimalist approach to beauty. No contouring or fancy LED face masks, just the classics… and they’re actually super easy to pull off. Read on for our favorite French girl-approved beauty products to check out on Mira.
Beauty Elixir by Caudalie, $49
One glance at the Beauty Elixir by Caudalie, and you know that this facial mist is fit for a queen. Perhaps it’s the elegant packaging, or more likely the fact that this cult beauty product is beloved by celebrities, makeup artists, and beauty enthusiasts around the world. Inspired by an “elixir of youth” made for Queen Isabelle of Hungary in the 16th century, this facial mist is infused with nourishing ingredients like grape seed extract, orange blossom, rose, myrrh and organic balm mint. One or two spritzes will give your skin a refreshing pick-me-up and boost of radiance, in addition to smoothing fine lines while tightening pores. Or just use it to set makeup and lock in your look all day. Basically, you’ve found the fountain of youth in a bottle, and if Beauty Elixir is good enough for Margot Robbie and Blake Lively (they both love it!), then it’s definitely good enough for you.
Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo by MAC, $19
Listen, we’re firm believers that anybody can own red lipstick with the right shade and amount of confidence. But the French girls seem to pull it off in an unreal way. They look bold yet subtle, pretty and prime, confident but not in an arrogant way. What is their secret? As it turns out, balance. When French girls wear red lipstick, they tend to keep the rest of their complexion very natural or bare. This creates a balance between glam and everyday makeup, and lets their lips do the talking without eyeshadow or contour stealing the spotlight. If you want to recreate this iconic French look, we’re not saying you can’t wear anything else on your face… but keep it simple. Stick to the everyday makeup essentials like concealer, tinted moisturizer, brow gel, and mascara, and complete your French girl-inspired look with a swipe of the Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo by MAC.
Lip Sugar Scrub by Dior, $34
Pay tribute on Bastille Day with one of the most legendary French beauty brands of all time. Lips are a major feature when it comes to French makeup, and you want to keep them healthy and hydrated in between your red lipstick moments. Just like you exfoliate your skin during your nightly skincare routine, you should do the same for your lips. Lip Sugar Scrub by Dior is a gentle, exfoliating lip balm that removes dead skin and moisturizes your lips, leaving a naturally rosy tint. But the real French girl makeup magic begins when you start applying lipstick again, as your newly soft and hydrated lips will allow for maximum color impact.
Monsieur Big Mascara by Lancôme, $25
American and French makeup styles are worlds apart, literally. But a few things stay the same for any beauty lover, and one of them is a passion for mascara. It’s the go-to product no matter what type of effect you’re going for, and the French girls love it as much as the rest of us do when creating their natural, everyday makeup looks for school or work. Since their beauty routines are very simple, a few coats of mascara adds just the right amount of drama while still playing into the French girl’s minimalist makeup style. In fact, many French girls and MUA’s claim that mascara and red lipstick are the top products that they have in their beauty bag at all times… take notes!
Cream Blush by Kjaer Weis, $56
When doing your makeup like a French girl, you can put away your contour and highlighter powders. They’re all about keeping it natural and enhancing the features they have, rather than sculpting and creating new ones with techniques like contouring. However, the French girls do love a good blush to accentuate their lit-from-within, enviable skin. Preferably a cream blush, as it blends more easily and looks natural on the apples of your cheeks. Use the Cream Blush by Kjaer Weis to apply just a bit of product on your skin for a healthy, French-inspired glow.
Conditioning Collagen Lash Primer by lashfood, $20
It’s no secret that fresh-faced French girls love their mascara, and they’re all about caring for and enhancing their natural features - lashes included. Mascara can be hard on your lashes… so keeping them healthy is of the utmost importance to these beauties. That means not using waterproof mascara too often, as the waxy texture can dry out your natural lashes, and using a conditioner or lash mask to keep them healthy. The Conditioning Collagen Lash Primer by lashfood is a nourishing mask for your lashes, with nano-peptide complex to promote lash vitality, microfibers to stretch and extend length, and collagen to boost volume. Collagen is the natural substance your body uses to hold tissues together and prevent wrinkles, sagging skin, and other complexion issues… so you know this beauty product will give you major French girl lashes.
Double Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner by Estée Lauder, $27
You can still do a smokey eye when adapting the “barely there” French makeup look. However, it needs to be done a little less strategically than you normally would. For example, we’re not talking about the purple smokey eye with falsies that you created for a YouTube tutorial recently, but a very messy, smoked out look that’s generally only done with one product. You don’t even need makeup brushes! Just apply eyeliner using a pencil with a creamy texture, like the Double Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner by Estée Lauder, and smudge it with your finger to get a strategically messy liner look that’s part French girl, part rock star. And we’d recommend leaving your lips and face mostly bare, as French makeup typically only focuses on one feature.
SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover by Garnier, $9
If you’ve gotten this far down the list, you’ve probably come to the realization that French girl makeup is pretty minimal. Most don’t have more than 3-4 products on their face at any given time, and they’re even more consistent about cleansing their faces every single night to maintain their naturally glowing complexions. A French girl would never skip her skincare routine or fall asleep in her makeup, and neither should you. Micellar cleansing water is a must-have in France, as the hard water in the country can rough on sensitive skin. But micellar cleansing water is safe to use on all skin types, and contains small particles called micelles to reach deep into the skin and remove trapped makeup, dirt, oil, and other impurities. Using it every night is certain to keep your skin glowing, and you can follow it up with your favorite moisturizer for the true French girl skincare experience
Lait Creme Concentrate by embryolisse, $28
No skincare routine is complete without the right moisturizer, and French girls have high standards when it comes to which beauty products can maintain their natural radiance. They only put the best on their skin, and now you will too with the Lait Creme Concentrate by embryolisse. Another cult product used by millions of celebrities and beautiful French women, this 3-in-1 moisturizer is enriched with like shea butter, beeswax, aloe vera, soy proteins and more to hydrate your skin and give you the glow you desire. Wear it under foundation, or alone to show off your luminous skin like the French girls do.
Advanced Night Repair by Estée Lauder, $100
Simple, yet powerful. It sums up the French girl’s makeup routine, along with the popular Advanced Night Repair by Estée Lauder. This serum has been scientifically proven to reduce fine lines and signs of aging, restore hydration, and give skin a youthful, radiant glow, everything you need to achieve full French girl status. Even if you weren’t born French, you can still get a boost of confidence and illuminating skin with this practically perfect skincare product.
See how these French beauty lover approved products will work for your skin tone and type all on Mira Beauty.

Start Early With Skin Prep If you haven't been diligent about your skin-care routine, now's the time to start. "Getting regular facials makes an enormous difference in your skin's texture and helps you've got the simplest base for makeup," says makeup artist Tiffany Patton of White Rose Collective in NY City. Schedule monthly treatments (aim for a minimum of three) which will illuminate and firm your complexion, says facialist Regine Berthelot of latest York's Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa at the Plaza Hotel. to stop any last-minute irritation, skip extractions the month before.
Schedule an attempt Run (or Two) Kate Middleton (a literal princess) is rumored to possess done her own wedding-day makeup — and she or he nailed it — but many brides like better to usher in a professional . to seek out someone who understands your style, consult a couple of different makeup artists early. "You want to ascertain if you're employed well together," says makeup artist Landy Dean. Book a minimum of six months ahead, then schedule a further trial two months before the marriage. "You'll be more settled within the planning and can have a far better pity how you would like to seem," he says.
Make Your Makeup Last Though it'd feel otherwise, your day may be a marathon, not a sprint, and you will want your makeup to carry up through all photos, dance, toast, and selfie. that creates primer essential: Spread it on your face and eyelids (we love this one from Paula's Choice) and concrete Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion after cleansing and moisturizing, then top with a foundation to make a smooth base. "Apply everything in thin, even layers," says Patton. That goes for blush, highlighter, translucent powder, and lipstick, too. "Use a lip liner, placed on your lipstick, blot, add more lipstick, blot, and add more lipstick," says Patton. "This process really seals the merchandise to the lips and makes for an ideal stain."
Conceal Last-Minute Breakouts So, your rehearsal dinner lasted until dawn. No big deal. Put foundation on first. Then, to mask undereye circles, dot a creamy formula on the inner corners of your eyes with a brush and work it outward. Use your fingertip to softly press (not rub) the formula onto skin where it seems darker. To camouflage a zit, tap a rather tacky concealer right top of it with a synthetic bristle brush, says makeup artist Chrisanne Davis. "Don't sweep it back and forth," she says. "It will build up around the blemish." a couple of concealers we love: CoverGirl Outlast All-Day chump Concealer, Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer, and Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer. to offer it some endurance, top with translucent powder.
Aim For Looking Like Yourself Whether you normally wear minimal makeup or whether you favor more avant-garde looks — "Your day isn't a time to experiment," says Dean. "You want your photos to be timeless." One look that never fails: radiant skin, rosy cheeks, flushed lips, and a few definitions on the eyes. employing a gel eyeliner, work it into the bottom of your lashes, then apply it to the upper waterline, says Davis. "It gives you intensity without looking overdone or needing plenty of eye shadow. Plus, the wide-eyed effect is basically dreamy."
Get Glowy (Not Shiny) Skin "Luminous skin looks ethereal," says Davis. "But you do not need a strobe-light effect across your face in photos." to regulate shine, dust translucent powder across the forehead, sides of the nose, and on the chin with a powder puff. Then apply a soft, shimmery highlighter (Davis loves Nars Copacabana Illuminator) to only the temples and tops of cheekbones. "To brighten eyes, you'll also dab it on the inner corners and under the brow bone," she says. "It's so sheer, it's natural."
Falsies Are Optional but Waterproof Mascara isn't If you are a big crier, consider before tacking on false lashes. "Tears will lift the lash adhesive right off," says Davis. Curl your lashes and persist with a volumizing mascara instead, and whether you wear falsies or not, waterproof mascara may be a must.
Keep Your Manicure Simple Truly, your matrimonial manicure is up to you, but a reason why you'll want to stay nails neutral: a bright, punchy polish will distract from your beautiful white gown. Plus, chips are far more noticeable on bright nails (something you are doing not wants to be fussing over on a large day). persist with softer shades and confirm they're sheer, not chalky. Those whose skin has pink undertones should choose a sheer pink polish, like Smith & Cult's nail enamel in Ghost Edit. Women with olive undertones look good in warm beiges, like HIPPxRGB nail enamel in S3. For dark skin tones, either one works — just steer beyond whitish colors, which may come off as gray.
Pack a Touch-Up Kit Your day is going to be all smiles, kisses, champagne toasts, and even a couple of happy tears — so basically an enormous love fest through which even the foremost well-applied makeup is sure to fade. "Don't expect your initial makeup application to last eight hours," Dean says. Pack a touch-up kit with the essentials — blush, translucent powder, cotton swabs, and tissues — and stash it during a bridesmaid's clutch. And since you will be on your groom's arm for many of the days, ask him to hold a gloss in his pocket. "A pretty lip gloss during a shade almost like the lipstick you were wearing at the start of the day makes touch-ups quicker and easier," Davis says.
Leave Enough Time Save yourself from any last-minute rushing and append a couple of extra minutes to your prep time. "However long you think that your makeup will take, add half-hour," says Dean says. "The fear is that you're going to be sitting ready, but that rarely happens."

A Complete Guide on How to Make Black Lipstick
Tumblr media
Black lipstick is now most closely linked with the goth subculture, as well as some heavy metal bands and vocalists to a lesser extent. This theatrical style is still worn by bands like KISS and Alice Cooper. When applied incorrectly, though, this lipstick can appear sticky and forced. It is regarded as a sign of inexperience or lack of self-awareness among goths. We’ll go through how to make black lipstick in this tutorial.
How To Make Black Lipstick?
If you’ve ever visited an American shopping mall, you’ve undoubtedly seen someone like this: out of shape, wearing a big black t-shirt, black nail paint, and untidy hair. This sad adolescent (or oversized adolescent) wears tarnished black lipstick. Hopefully, this individual will grow out of their craze, get in better condition, and adopt a more attractive appearance.
If you’ve been looking for a black matte lipstick but are annoyed by the exorbitant prices of the best ones on the market right now, this is the hack for you. The majority of black lipsticks we’ve seen have an extremely creamy texture.
Using Black Liquid Eyeliner as Lipstick
Black liquid eyeliner is great for a nice wing, but it may also be used as a black lipstick if you’re not ready to commit to a dark lip. Another benefit of the pointed tip is that it helps you to define your cupid's bow and apply lipstick precisely. The disadvantage is that it may be drying, therefore hydrating the lips before using it is essential!
How To Make Black Lipstick With Eyeliner
Tumblr media
Grab the black gel eyeliner you currently have and use it as black lipstick, much like the liquid eyeliner. Depending on the composition of your gel eyeliner, you may wear it as is or softly blot with translucent powder or black eyeshadow to get a matte look.
How To Make Black Lipstick Look Good As Black Eyeshadow
Yes, you read that correctly. Black eyeshadow serves as a substitute for black lipstick. You’re undoubtedly wondering how powder makeup can possibly stay on your lips. All you need is hydrating lipstick in a dark hue (so it’s easier to cover up) or a neutral shade.
Consider the lipstick to be an eyeshadow primer. Once that’s done, use a brush to evenly apply the black eyeshadow on your lips (just as you would do on the lids). BOOM! That concludes our discussion. A matte black lippy that isn’t going anywhere.
It’s Better If You Have a Lot of Brow Pencils
Although there are numerous products created particularly for brows, makeup artist Tom Pecheux, backstage at Brandon Maxwell, strongly recommended brow pencils (plural) since they give the most accuracy. Pecheux utilized brow pencils in a variety of hues to get each model’s beautiful “baby Barbies in Texas” appearance. The end effect is a more realistic, non-monotone appearance. Allow yourself to quit debating if your eyeliner should be “soft brown” or “medium brown,” and just use both!
Black Lipstick May Be Worn in A Variety of Ways
Tumblr media
Lips should be exfoliated and moisturized. Black lipstick dries up faster than other colors and becomes streaky and flaky. It’s critical to prepare your lips before applying lipstick to avoid this. Make sure your lips are smooth and supple by removing all skin flakes and moisturizing them. You might want to reserve the black lipstick for another time if your lips are parched. Brush your lips with a gentle toothbrush or use a lip scrub to exfoliate.
Use A Thick Lip Balm or Coconut Oil to Hydrate Your Lips
Make a line with your lips. Apply a thin line of black lip liner around the outside of your lips, taking care to design the precise shape you want. This will ensure that your lipstick remains defined and purposeful. Black lipstick without liner tends to flow outside the borders of your lips, making you seem smeared and sloppy.
If you don’t have any black lip liner, a black eye pencil would suffice.
Always Line Your Lips with A Liner That Is One or Two Shades Darker Than Your Lipstick
Tumblr media
Fill in the blanks with your lips. A lipstick brush is an ideal tool for applying black lipstick. Spread out your lips if you don’t have a lipstick brush. This will guarantee that the lipstick gets into all of the small wrinkles on your lips.
Use a lipstick brush (or similar small makeup brush) to gently apply black lipstick to your lips, thoroughly filling them in. When you’re done, take a look in the mirror and grin. Fill in any wrinkles that weren’t covered by the coating. Keep a cotton swab on ready in case you stray too far from the path.
Conclusion
Black eyeshadow serves as a substitute for black lipstick. You’re undoubtedly wondering how powder makeup can possibly stay on your lips. All you need is hydrating lipstick in a dark hue (so it’s easier to cover up) or a neutral shade. Consider the lipstick to be an eyeshadow primer. Once that’s done, use a brush to evenly apply the black eyeshadow on your lips (just as you would do on the lids). BOOM! That concludes our discussion. A matte black lippy that isn’t going anywhere.
So, here is how to make a black lipstick tutorial. I hope you girls like how to make black lipstick stay for the long tutorial.

The holidays season is nearing, and everything in town dressed up with baubles and fairy lights. You may want some glitters for you, don’t you? Jolie Beauty has listened to your seasonal wishes with its Bomb Dot Com 24 shade glitter palette…
Tumblr media
You can recreate that jolly atmosphere with your makeup looks and the help of this explosive glitter palette by Jolie Beauty.
Tumblr media
Jolie Beauty Bomb Dot Com 24 shade glitter palette: product & package
It’s a real glitter bomb! Jolie Beauty Bomb Dot Com is a makeup palette with 24 pressed glitters safe to use on both eyes and face. This palette is featherlight and comes with a matching protective sleeve. Its package runs over you with a light beam: the whole palette is rose gold and a finelly glittery to the touch, inside and out. It has a magnetic closure and a large mirror inside.
Tumblr media
Texture and formula As all Jolie Beauty products, the Bomb Dot Com palette is cruelty-free and vegan. These cosmetic-graded glitters are pressed into singular pans in a clear base. In some shades, this base feels pleasantly cooling and with a jelly texture. The clear base eases the application and minimises the use of glue, other adhesives or creamy products, even though I highly suggest them (see how to use). Of the 24 shades, 23 are made of micro shimmery particles, that an optical illusion makes them look varying in dimensions (see chart). Sugar is the only shade in this palette with a crystal-like texture due to its chunkier glitters.
Tumblr media
How to use: It may sound straightforward, but these glitters need some instruction: apply the glitters with a synthetic flat brush, preferably with a stiff texture, and tap them over your lids or skin until you get the desired intensity and coverage. The colours can be overlayed; put on the top of a coloured cream base or dabbed with eyeshadows and pigments to intensify the colours and effect. When it comes to glitters or very dark eyeshadows, it’s always better to start from the prep and eyes first. Once the eyes are ready and sparkly in glory, remove any fallouts with a face wipe and continue with your base.
Tumblr media
Glitter removal: carefree as a sip of bubbles. Cheers!
Tumblr media
… and how to remove: These glitters can be removes swiftly with any makeup remover wipes. If any glitter falls later on, when the face is ready, some washi tape comes in handy. I recommend this Japanese decorative tape because it’s sticky but gentle. I also suggest attaching the washi tape to the back of your hand to dampen its stickiness as a good practice.

In short, this palette has many bright colours mainly in the blue and red spectrum but lacks dark shades, except for Cocoa, a very intense brown. These glitters have a crazy metallic finish and, interestingly, a portion of this palette has a ‘watershine’ effect, an iridescent and holo shine. Some shades, like Disco, Golden Tickets and to some extent Just Jolie, can be dabbed until creating a metallic foil effect like a pigment. This ‘trompe l’oeil’ (a French, hence chic, way to say ‘optic illusion’) is due to the glitters being heavily packed in their clear base. Most of the glitters, instead, look sparse and need more layers.
Tumblr media
PROS:
it’s vegan and cruelty-free;
(23 out of 24) the glitters have a fine in texture;
(23 out of 24) the glitters are very gentle to the skin;
very shiny;
easy to remove;
relatively easy to work with;
have a buildable coverage;
have different finishes;
the package is sturdy yet light;
includes a large mirror.
CONS:
a sticky base is always needed;
one shade is grittier and harder to use;
(lack of dark shades).

If I could describe this palette with an image, I could say it’s a loud and instant party! The ace in the hole: when you need something spectacular and shocking, this palette has it. The Bomb Dot Com palette comprises 24 shades for a total of 19.2 grams at a regular price of £27.99 online at JolieBeauty.com (now at £20.99 for the extended Cyber Monday and payable with Klarna small payments).
Tumblr media
I played around with this palette because it’s made for that! I created two sparkly looks for the holidays I want to share with you. Nice or naughty, how are you going to be these holidays?
When I think of glitters, Christmas tinsels come to my mind. For how much it may sound typical, I still like and wear glittery eyeliners. I made this daytime ‘nice look’ with an organic white kajal (L’Avril Blanc Lunaire) as a base where to stick three glitter shades from this bombastic palette: Rosy, Regal and Amazon. At the bottom of the lower lash line and right at its centre, I dotted Firefly with a pinch of Just Jolie to add an unexpected drop of light in this simple look.
Tumblr media
A paired this with fuller and bright lips: Lord&Berry Ultimate Lip Liner in Vintage Rose with a touch of MCo. Beauty Peachy Gloss.
Tumblr media

(waterline) Lips: Lord&Berry Ultimate Liner in Vintage Rose + MCo Beauty Peachy Gloss (centre)
If this is for the day, what would be my night holiday? Get naught(ier) with this glittery crease. The neutral eye base created with MannaKadar Beauty Goddess makeup palette has been spiced up with a reddish glitter liner (Cherrybomb) to which a sharp crease connects (Cocoa).
Tumblr media
To keep these shades in place, I used the same white kajal as a guideline and base for winged eye and an e.l.f. brow pomade from an eyebrow kit to fill in the crease. I created a light point in the inner corner with Disco, and layered the glitters several times and topped with coordinated eyeshadow palettes (from MannaKadar Beauty Goddess palette and Forgive Me Suzie x Birchbox red/gold/copper eyeshadow palette). With such dramatic eyes, I dressed my lips with a caramel gloss by Neve Cosmetics (Venissage in Dama con l’ermellino).

Nice or naughty is such a subtle difference, a thin line of glitters…
It’s all about eyes but my face has something interesting: for the day makeup, I used Jolie Beauty Second Skin Powder Bronzer and Blusher Latte+Rendezvous. The night look includes the combo Latte+Flushed. There’s more! This review wants to be a preview of the new launches from the Second Skin Collection: the highlighter Dreaming for the day look and Saintly for the night. Trust me, these newest highlighters are as light as the Second Skin compacts (complete review) but with an ethereal glow.
Tumblr media
‘Ethereal glow’: Jolie Beauty Second Skin Powder Highlighter in ‘Saintly‘
These glitters lasted for more than 8 hours before I could see the first fallouts, but the glitters placed closer to the crease tended to move earlier. Although a glitter glue isn’t a strict necessity, it would be very welcome, especially in case of long and lively events as New Year’s Eve. Nevertheless, with minimal expense and effort, I made both looks last longer than expected.
Tumblr media
A last look inside…
Of course, an extended glitter palette like the Bomb Dot Com isn’t for everyone and doesn’t fall into the essential makeup list, but it’s ideal for artists and playful people. I had fun and magic all over my carpet these weeks, and I will play more often with it. Even if it isn’t an essential item, this palette offers great quality and an incredible gentle touch to the skin. I simply wished for more dark hues… Holidays season is coming, and this Jolie Beauty palette is like fairy light for your eyes only!

Finally, the hauls I’ve been wanting to post about and review! Had to wait for the last bit to come in to make sure one of the earlier products wasn’t going to get dinged for a sharpening problem, but now it’s all in. The time between receipt and post is actually helpful in another way: it gave me time to use them and give more than a first impressions review for most of them.
So the hauls included my picks from the Sephora VIB sale: the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette and First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser; Sephora walk in purchases: Milk Makeup Holographic Highlighting Powder in Supernova and a couple Urban Decay eyeshadow singles; and a load of Nyx things: Custom 9- and 4-Shadow Pro Palettes, Prismatic Shadow singles, Hot Singles Pro Shadow singles, Studio Liquid Liner (freebie), Tea Tree Balance Skin Elixir (freebie), Jumbo Lip Pencil in Maroon, #NoFilter Finishing Powder in Medium Olive, A double-ended brush (in the beautiful box; freebie), HD Concealer Wand in Nude Beige (was looking for a lighter concealer/highlighter), a sharpener for the jumbo lip pencil, Simply Vamp Lip Cream in Bewitching, Turn It Up Lipstick Set 1 (with the colors Hollywood, Dahlia, and Wine & Dine), and Xtreme Lip Cream in Absolute Red.
Not reviewing the concealer wand since I’ve reviewed it before and like it. I’m just looking for that right shade that will brighten under my eyes and hide the shadows better...and still looking. lol
Now for the reviews!
Urban Decay Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette ::  I'm loving this palette already. I had purchased the  Urban Decay Moondust Palette and returned it because it was horribly disappointing. I almost skipped on this one because I was concerned the formula for it would be similar, but everyone said it was better, so I risked it during the VIB sale. And everyone was right. These apply wet or dry with no work and without needing glitter glue or anything else to keep them on the lid. Most colors I've tried are beautifully pigmented and glittery, and they're as gorgeous on the eyes as they are in the pan, though one or two of the lighter shades are more difficult to work with (still, the silver and gold ARE silver and gold on the lid; not muddy gray and brown like the Moondust palette's). As people have noted on YouTube, the hardest one to work with is Angelfire. Ways I've worked with it that seem to help: use a stiffer brush, use setting spray or water, or use your finger to apply it. None of these will give you the same coverage as the other shadows, but when patted over another shadow in the collection, it gives a bit more "light" to the color. The other colors apply beautifully. The shadows are soft and almost creamy and can be used alone or over the top of another shadow (which is my current favorite way of using them). The purples in particular aren’t as shiny or glittery when used alone. A number of YouTubers have complained about the set up, but I like it: the slide out tray locks inside and can only be pushed out one way (which is important when considering my makeup storage set up), and I've used the mirror while putting on the make up. It reminds me a bit of an artist's palette. It’s become my favorite holiday palette.
First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser ::  I've been using fresh Soy Cleanser, which is more expensive, but have been so impressed with the other FAB products I've tried that I had to give this one a shot too. I'm so glad I did! This cleanser is amazing. The consistency of the cleanser itself was surprising: it's very thick; and it has little to no fragrance. A little goes a long way, so the smaller size I purchased will last awhile, making it an even better deal than I originally thought, and it lathers up nicely. It's a very gentle cleanser while doing the job, and leaves my skin soft and smooth. Highly recommend it. The entire line has been pretty impressive.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Singles :: I now own four: Polyester Bride (which is in my 9 palette), Relish (also in my 9 palette now), Rockstar, and Desperation. These shadows are soft and pigmented and gorgeous. Even Desperation, which wasn’t the color I was looking for (Rockstar is closer to what I wanted), is smooth and pigmented. I love them and would love to pick up more some day.
Milk Makeup Holographic Highlighting Powder ::  This highlight is GORGEOUS (the photo seriously does not do it justice). I have the NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette which has a lavender that I resisted trying for awhile, but when I finally did, I was astonished at how good it looked on me. As it turns out, few companies have a lavender solo highlight out, and Milk's was the only one I could actually swatch in Sephora (I believe the other is Becca, but it wasn’t available in the store and is more expensive). It is beautifully shimmery, highly pigmented, smooth and creamy, and can be used set or dry. I just wish there were more of it in the package! I actually initially picked up an Urban Decay liquid lipstick that was a total fail, and exchanged it to get this, and am so happy I did. Had to pay a little more, but I’m loving it.
Custom 9- and 4-Shadow Pro Palettes ::  I picked up the 9 for my custom Christmas colors palette and the 4 for my UD singles (and one Nyx single). I was disappointed that the palettes are cardboard, really good cardboard, but cardboard and don’t have any kind of closure that will keep them from opening in my purse. For the price ($10), I'd have liked a mirror or a decent plastic (I also wish they had a 10 slot palette; they currently only have 4 and 9 slot). That said, they are pretty sturdy and magnetized. They’re also pretty compact—there’s not excess packaging to bulk them up. Overall, they’ll do what I need them to, but I think they could have been better, and as portable as they are, I don’t think they’re travel friendly. (And, yes, you can see that I had some issues depotting a few of my shadows to put in the palettes. *grumps*)
Prismatic Shadow Singles/Refills ::  My first prismatic was free sample for an order last year, and I just tried it. The color is gorgeous and shimmery and the shadow is very pigmented. It even worked over shadows that had issues with blending and smoothness. And the packaging is adorable (can't see it in the photo, but the lid has a little bow at the clasp). Based on that, I picked up more for a custom palette. The Gilded is beautiful, but appears to be a bit more glitter than color (but that could be my skin tone's problem with yellows from almost EVERY company I've tried), and the Frostbite has a bit of lavender and blue in it. Are these Urban Decay level? No. But they still rock, are more affordability, and I eventually want more.
Hot Singles Pro Shadow Singles/Refills ::  I picked up some of these to create a Christmas colors themed palette based on the performance of the prismatic singles. Thing is, with almost any brand, mattes are more difficult to get right than shimmers, and lighter, brighter colors are harder to get pigmented across the board than deeper colors. Sadly, these have the same issues: the diamond dust and spruce barely show up on my skin (even with primer), while the greens and blues were wonderfully pigmented. There were also some color surprises: Bad Seed comes across more pink than red (perhaps because of the gold glitter?) and galactic has a grayish undertone. That said, the darker colors (even the mattes) are pigmented, smooth, and apply and blend well.
Studio Liquid Liner :: I have long since decided I’m not a liquid liner girl. I really want to try gel liner, but liquid and me are a no, so this went into the ProjectBeautyShare.org box that will be going out later this week.
Tea Tree Balance Skin Elixir ::  I really don't see much point in extra elixirs and serums—they just seem like another way for companies to part people from their money.  Then I tried it. I can't speak on the long term effects (yet), but this absorbed quickly and left my skin soft and smooth (unlike the serums that I've tried that have left my skin sightly tacky). I did use a primer over it before my makeup, but I think it helped both with application of my makeup and the feel of my skin after it was on (smooth and soft). And my skin felt smooth and soft after I removed the makeup as well, which was really nice!  I'll be watching to see if it helps with my pimples and texture over time.
Jumbo Lip Pencil ::  I picked this up as an inexpensive way to save $1 (without it, the shipping would have made my total cost $1 more, lol), but wow am I impressed. It's much like a standard lipstick in that it transfers, fades, and needs reapplication (it does dry down a bit, but not as much as liquid lip creams), but it is smooth, creamy, pigmented, and gives (for me) more control over application. And it reapplies without making my lips feel heavy or cakey. The only downside I've found is that they're too big for my benefit sharpener, so I had to order Nyx's sharpener (but it's only $4.50, so not that big of a deal; and the pencil fit the Nyx sharpener and the sharpener did sharpen it nicely, so I’m happy). I've been moving gradually away from the clunkier standard tubes to liquid lip creams and narrower/longer tube lipsticks, and now will be adding these jumbo pencils into the mix as well. I want more colors, so many more colors.
#NoFilter Finishing Powder ::  The color is a match for my skin/foundation, but not sure it would matter if it wasn't because it just disappears on my skin: none of the "dots" I see when using other powders. It sets my makeup without being obvious and cakey and leaves a beautiful finish that's soft to the touch. The texture of the powder is smooth and soft. If it were more matte and blurring, it'd be perfect. Still, after trying nearly a dozen different powders, I've finally found one I like enough to repurchase.
Double-ended Eyeshadow Brush :: Both ends of this brush are soft with longer bristles. They pick up and apply shadow pretty well with a few exceptions (and those they have trouble with any other soft bristled brush would have the same issues). I wouldn’t normally pick up/keep a double ended brush because of storage issues, but they put this in a special box that’s sturdy. the only thing is the size, but while I don’t have a lot of space, I do manage to find room for this. I’ve been using the brush fairly consistently and really like it. And let’s be honest, the box is cute.
Simply Vamp Lip Cream ::  Lordy, I'm loving Nyx lippies! The packaging is a bit on the cheap side with this one, but I do like that it's a twist up rather than a sharpen type—I feel like I waste product when I have to sharpen a pencil, and I'm a bit on the stingy side. This lip cream pencil is creamy, smooth, and pigmented and buildable. There can be a little patchiness when initially applying it, but that's smoothed out during application. And Bewitching is an amazing color: it has become my favorite in all my lipsticks.
Turn It Up Lipstick Set 1 :: I haven’t had a chance to try these fully yet. I did start to put on Dahlia, but it was more purple than I wanted so took it off. I’m hoping when I do use it, it will be less sheer than what I saw in this initial quick swatch. Hollywood is a red, but it’s the wrong red for me, so it’s going into a NEW ProjectBeautyShare.org box (which will go out end of March, I think).
Xtreme Lip Cream in Absolute Red :: I’ve taken a look at the color and think I’ll like it, but haven’t tried it yet.
Whew! domy tried so much! But is so happy with almost all of it!  After this and my last old BH haul, future reviews will be on my subscriptions for awhile. My subs currently are still Ipsy, Sephora Play, and Glossybox, but I’ve given up on waiting for Boxycharm and am giving Lola Beauty Box a try (I’ll have to decide between Glossy and Lola by the end of January). I have some free samples I’ve signed up for across the net that I’ll probably eventually put all in one review post, but they may take a few weeks to get here. Once I have/tested all or most of them, I’ll get a review for those up as well.
I do have a couple palettes I want, but the next buy will have to be skincare refills, we have a major care checkup coming up, and we have to purchase stuff for Christmas dinner for the family (and that will cost a fortune all on its own), so anything else has to wait until next year if kiddos don’t buy it for me. On my wish list? The Sephora Pro palette, the UD Distortion palette, and the HUDA Beauty Obsessions Palette in Electric.I have all my neutrals and glitters, now I just want some strongly pigmented brights (my Nyx palette is great, but I know there are others that have even better pigmentation, and the HUDA has a wonderful yellow that shows up beautifully on my skin).
What are you still wishing for?

Best Eyeliner | According to Makeup Artists If you are feeling under the weather, anyone looking into your eyes or the area around them can tell that you are not okay. If you stayed up tossing and turning the whole night, the lack of sleep shows on the eyes and the skin around it in the form of puffiness and redness. If years are catching up with you, the fine lines, sagging skin and WRINKLES around the eyes tell it all. You can however prevent or hide all these imperfections by taking great care of your eyes. There are several ways to take care of the eyes. You can use the Best Eye Creams in the market to reverse majority of the signs, or make your eyes look sexy and irresistible to look at by using other eye makeup products such as Mascara, eyeliners, eye pencils and many others. Today, our focus is on eyeliners. Many women find it hard not to include eyeliner in their makeup routine making it one of the most important items to have for a complete look. Using eyeliners is one of the best ways to draw attention to any woman’s eyes. They give that cat-eye look or a smoky eye look that is irresistible. This they do by making the eyelashes appear longer than they are and by giving more vibrancy to the color of the eyes. Anyone wearing eyeliner in the proper manner looks more awake and alert than a person not wearing anything on her lashes does. Eyeliners define the eyes making them noticeable and they are usually among the first beauty items every girl gets to know first. Eyeliner accentuates and uplifts not only the eyes but also the whole face. Eyeliner can turn a dull look into an extremely attractive look.  If you are one of those women, then this article will come in handy for you. The pencils versatility allows you to create anything from thick lines, delicate lines and full coverage looks. Different Types of Eyeliners and Their Application Tips To achieve that magical look from eyeliner, it is important to know how to apply it and where exactly to apply it. Also knowing the color that best suits your skin tone is also another very important factor. Before we go through the tips, it is good to know what kind of eyeliner you want for your lashes. Eyeliner comes in three types, which are in liquid form, as an eye pencil and in gel form. The three types have different ways of application and skill levels. Of the three, the most common is the pencil and the most advanced of the three is the liquid eyeliner. Eye Pencils Besides being the most common, eye pencils are also the easiest to use. Even people using them for the first time get it right without too much fuss. They are also good for your everyday look and they go well with all kinds of makeup. The only problem that many of the people have with eye pencils is the sharpening. Some people do not sharpen their pencils as regularly as they should, which makes it harder to achieve fine lines across the lashes. Sharpening the pencils regularly also ensures that they stay clean and free from bacteria. Other people prefer dull and round pointed pencils, which are okay for shading, but not for the precision application, that gives the lashes a seamless look. Another important thing to note is that as much as it is advisable to sharpen the pencil regularly, you must make sure that it is not too sharp because any wrong move could see the pencil end up in the eyeball. Liquid Eyeliners Liquid eyeliners are not only the most advanced in the market but also they create more dramatic effects than the other types of eyeliners. They are also the most difficult to apply as compared to the other two categories of eyeliners and you have to be extra careful to avoid making any messes. The trick when it comes to liquid eyeliners is to find the best application techniques that will ensure that you get it right. Another thing that sets liquid eyeliners apart from the rest is that they need some time to dry. After application, it is good to keep your eyes closed for at least 30 seconds to avoid any smudges. To get even better looks with liquid eyeliner, you can dab a setting powder on top of the dry lash line and compliment the look with your best Eyeshadow. Gel Eyeliners Majority of gel eyeliners come in a pot and an application brush. Unlike the eye pencil, gel eyeliners are trickier because you have to be sure, of how much you need to apply in order to get the effect you want. The creamy texture and consistency of the gel eyeliners however make it easier to glide the brush across the lashes without any tugging or pulling as the pencils do. The other difference between gels and the other two types of eyeliners is that they dry out faster mainly because they come in pots. Wrapping it up Achieving the best look is all about using the right products and eyeliner can bring out the best in you. All you need to do is find a color that suits you best, eyeliner type that will offer the best application and get yourself looking sexy with cat-eyes or any other irresistible look you so desire. With the above products, you can achieve all this and more. Make it even better by making sure that you accompany your eyeliner with a good and quality eye primer that will give your application a base for a lasting application. We hope this article was of help to you and you will know exactly what to look for when you go shopping for your next eyeliner. Sydnee’s Makeup Favorites
Before I list the actual makeup, I have very oily, acne prone skin so some of the stuff I use might not work for people with dry skin, but if I know of any alternatives I’ll try to list them! And these are just the products I personally use, so it doesn't mean they’re the absolute best.
All the products and faves are under the cut. Enjoy!
First, always remember to wash and moisturize your face before you apply anything. Even if you have oily skin (like I do) you still need to moisturize!
Prep
Moisturizer: For dry skin use a cream moisturizer and for oily skin use a gel moisturizer (they dry down matte)
I have oily skin and I use the Urban Decay Rehab Makeup Prep Hot Springs Hydrating Gel ($28)
Rose Water: it helps hydrate and protect the skin as well as minimizes pores.
Thayers and Mario Badescu are two fairly cheap and high quality brands I’ve used. ($11 and $14 respectively)
Primer: I have bigger bores around my nose and textured skin from acne scarring so I like to use a primer before foundation. It also helps my makeup stay on longer and keep see less oily.
Don’t laugh at me but I don't actually use a true “primer”.... I use Monistat Anti Chaffing Gel ($8) before my foundation. I actually heard about this from a drag queen and it’s a pretty popular dupe. It’s sooooo cheap compared to most $30 primers and since it’s designed to go around the thigh/coochie area it’s really sensitive on the skin. Fills my poor and leaves my skin super smooth.
Other decent primers I’ve used are: Smashbox Photo Finish ($36) and NYX Angel Veil ($16) but the NYX one is a little too drying and thick
Face
Foundation: I’ve used A LOT of different foundations to try to find one that works for my skin and my holy grail foundation to end all foundations is...
tarte’s amazonian clay 12-hour foundation ($39) it’s the only foundation i’ve found that lasts through the day without breaking down, covers my acne marks, and doesn't get too cakey. It’s a god send. AND tarte is natural and doesn’t have a lot of chemicals in it’s products and basically its just really good for problematic skin.
during the summer or if I'm just running out somewhere I sometimes just put on some CC cream and I use SUPEREGOOP! CC Cream Daily Correct ($32). CC cream is a really lightweight and sheer cream that color corrects (CC) so it reduces redness and dark marks without being too heavy.
Concealer: I don't use a lot of concealer just because my foundation is usually full coverage enough to cover most of my marks and dark circles, but recently I did buy a new one and that would be
Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Cream ($26) KVDB is really great for people who are super duper pale and and all of her face products are SUPER high coverage. So this is a really good product to highlight with.
Setting Powder / Spray: I double set my makeup because, again, I have super oily skin and I also sweat a lot, so I like my makeup to stay where it is.
I set my foundation with powder before I do any contour, blush, or highlight and I use Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($23 travel size). I just dust some on my t-zone and where I used concealer to prevent creasing. (I buy the travel size and it lasts me soon long)
Then after I have everything except my highlight on, I use a setting spray to keep everything matte and in place and for that I use the Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Setting Spray ($15 again in travel size).
Contour: It’s so hard to find a cool toned contour shade that works with my pale af skin and isn’t too orange. (If you have lighter skin you want a cool/grey toned brown shade to contour because you’re trying to create extra shadows and shadows aren't warm toned.)
So, I use NYX HD Blush ($7) in the shade Taupe. It’s a blush and not a contour powder, but it’s the perfect cool toned brown for pale skin and it works just he same.
Blush: I have a few blushes that I really like
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso ($7)
tarte amazonian clay 12-hour blush in the shades paaarty and doll face ($29)
Highlighter: ooooohhhhh boy. I love my highlighter and I have soon many favorites so hold on. I usually use a combo of 2 or more because I can't help it.
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Spoon and Glazed ($8) their formula is really creamy so it’s best to apply by dabbing it with your finger.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Moon Child Glow Kit ($40). This glow kit is my child. It’s basically all cool toned duo chrome highlighters so they look holographic. Its the shit.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter ($38) in the shade Champagne Pop. This color is almost too dark for my white ass skin so I have to be really light handed.
Eyes
Brows: my babies. my prized feature. my one claim to fame. my eyebrows. It took me YEARS to master them the way they are now and I usually wear them one of 2 ways “Instagram/Sculpted” or “bushy/feathered”.  I only use one product for these puppies and that’s
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade ($18) in the color “ash brown” and I apply with the ABH #12 brush. Watch some youtube tutorials, it’s a process.
*then I carve them out with concealer and a tiny brush underneath and on the edges to clean it up.
Eyeshadow: I don't use eyeshadow primer beforehand, I usually just dab a tiny bit of concealer on the lid and blend it out. But for actual shadows I use a few different products.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette ($40) this fucking palette. So amazing. The shadows are so soft, and buttery, and bendable. And the colors are fantastic. It’s really worth the money. I use it every day.
Morphe Single Shadows ($3 a piece) Morphe sells a lot of singles where you can buy an empty magnetic palette and build your own. They’re pretty high quality for the price and easy to customize. Plus, they change shades in and out all the time. I really like the shades: pink moscato, burlesque, weekend, and private agent.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow ($5) like their highlighter, the shadows are single pots and have a creamy feel to them. Colourpop also recently released powder shadows, but I’ve never tried those. I really love the Super Shocks in the shades: stereo, cheap date, and game face.
Eyeliner: I only use one product for my eyeliner and it’ say absolute holy grail and that is
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($20) it’s a liquid liner pen, but instead of a felt tip (which I hate) it’s an actual brush with bristles. It gives such a sharp line and it’s really easy to maneuver. Also, doesn’t budge!
Mascara: I alternate between two different mascaras and those would be
Too Faced Better Than Sex ($23) it lives up to the hype.
tarte gifted amazonian clay smart mascara ($23) i like the bush on this one a lot better, its skinnier and easier to use, and gives a longer, but more natural lash
Lips
This one’s just going to be a list of all my favorite colors so just sit tight. Y'all know I'm a lipstick hoe.
*All these are matte/semi-matte liquid lips because I overline my top lip and with my mouth shape that only works with super mattes so...
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lip ($20): I love her lipsticks. They are soon matte and stay on for so long, that shit doesn't move. But can be extra drying so moisturize a few minutes before you apply. Color I love to death are...
Lolita: her most popular shade, a chestnut rosey color, great nude for medium skin tones
Nahz Fur Atoo: an ox blood, crimson red
Backstage Bambi: full on neon hot pink
Witches: black
Colourpop Ultra Matte and Ultra Satin Lips ($6): I really love Colourpop, they’re so cheap and great quality. Damn. I love both the ultra mattes and the ultra satins. The mattes, like KVD are really matte and drying but they stay put. And the satins dry down to the kind of semi-matte of a regular tube lipstick. I’m a hoe for
Love Bug (Ultra Matte): rich mahogany
Creeper (Ultra Matte): classic, bright red
Femme (Ultra Satin): probably my favorite lip color ever. its a really pretty muted grayish lilac color
Magic Wand (Ultra Satin): light beige nude
Hutch (Ultra Satin): a dark blackened violet
Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21): I really like this formula a lot. It’s matte and transfer proof, but it doesn't dry down as much as Kat Von D does. It feels almost like a satin lip, but it doesn't transfer or shine. Really comfortable.
I only own one color and that’s Queen B, but I need to get some more. Granny Panties looks lovely.
I think that’s it! Basically I love tarte, KVD, and Colourpop way too much. I hope some of you find some new products and favorites from this and that you enjoyed it! I love makeup a lot so I’m glad to share.
I’m gonna tag a few people that asked me to do this and a few that I think might just be interested in the products: @sassamyblake @starboybellamy @bellsgirl @sapphic-kadena @ravenbellclarke @thelovelylights
