“It’s just, I don’t know… Maybe I’d look more intimidating, kinda like you! In a good way!”

“No, it wouldn’t,” Raditz replied coldly as he scrutinized her as Mariko nervously answered his question further. While it was flattering to know that she still sought out his approval, it didn’t bode well with him that his student thought her intimidation factor was tied to the color of her hair. Perhaps if it was neon pink and in pigtails it would be. Thank the gods it wasn’t. 

“If you’re insecure about your looks, you’ll never be intimidating to anyone.” Once again his blunt statement held little concern for Mariko’s feelings. She certainly knew by now that his advice didn’t involve giving her a pat on the head and telling her what she wanted to hear.

“You don’t have to make this any more awkward than it already is, Mariko.” The growl and his stance made it clear this wasn’t going to be a hug he welcomed with open arms.

“Black hair is common among Saiyans, but it’s not the only hair color they can have. Why? Are you trying to impress me?”

He scoffed at her question. “You’d be surprised how many of those guys are the ones to pester me with their one-upping. Even if I tell them I have no interest in their pathetic little backstories, they’ll still stand there and boast of their supposed struggles. As if I care.” Casting a weary glance Kallion’s way he raised a brow and asked, “Is that what you came here to do?”

Mariko wasn’t doing anything different today, and yet Raditz was studying her closer than usual. When asked about it, he either shrugged it off or made up some excuse. Though the truth was even he wasn’t sure why he felt like there was something familiar about her today. Something nostalgic. However, he couldn’t quite figure out why for most of the day. When it finally hit him, Raditz gasped in shocked awe while muttering to himself.  “My gods Mariko. Your eyes. How have I never noticed them?”

It was more than her eyes though. There were many little behavioral quirks she had that reminded him of the mother he lost many years ago. Things that went unnoticed until he really began to stare at Mariko’s eyes today. Their color was not the same as his mother’s, but the shape and the way they squinted or widened while talking and expressing her feelings were eerily alike. Was he just imagining that? Was it projection or could the two be distant relatives?

Before her class could start, Launch might be able to hear faint snuffly snores coming from above her usual teaching spot in one of the nearby trees. A tuckered out Raditz was napping there, catching a break from all the excitement of exploring Conton while evading capture. His tail was wrapped around the branch he was laying on, and the part of the tree where the branch connected to the trunk served as his pillow.

“Woah...Turles! You’re an adult here?!” A familiar face peered up above the edge of the cliff where Turles usually stood on waiting for students to seek him out. 

Raditz giggled and flew up to hover in front of him so they were eye-to-eye. “Can I come hang out with you here? Or are you too cool for your friend now that you’re all grown up?” By now Raditz was familiar with the idea that people he might know from his timeline were older here. He’s heard some things that sort of make sense while evading capture.

“Hey lady! You’re a Saiyan, right? What’s the best stuff to eat around here! I’m starving! Only a fellow Saiyan would know what’s good to eat in this place.”

Mariko would see a familiar face on a smaller body today when she’d go to her favorite dumpling vendor cart. The guy running the cart was knocked out, and the child Raditz was sitting on the cart eating dumpling after dumpling with the speed and vigor of a very hungry Saiyan child. 

“Hum hum...these are so yummy! Oh man hope there’s more of these lined up around the place! This thing’s almost all out!”

Lil’ Rad Alone: Lost in Conton City! ~ Starter Call Event {Mutuals Only}

Uh oh...a gremlin child comes to Conton on accident with a group of patrollers who was sent to his timeline to fix a little problem. Only to create a bigger one here in the city! Better interact with him quick! Before Chronoa, Trunks, or anyone else tracks the little boy down and sends him back to his own time. Or perhaps it’s your intention to detain him and win yourself some brownie points with the Kai of Time?

This is a starter call to interact with a child version of Raditz lost in/exploring Conton City. 

Things to know:

He is the same child Raditz from the main timeline, which is where my Adult Raditz in the Conton verse is also from. Specifically from just before he is assigned to his Elite Squad with Vegeta and Nappa.  

Lil’ Raditz isn’t as jaded and doesn’t suppress his emotions as much as his adult self.

While my Adult Raditz has exceeded his strength from canon, Lil Raditz is probably going to be pretty weak compared to most other Xenoverse verse characters and OCs. Doesn’t mean he still won’t fight dirty and do what he can to get away from you if he thinks you’re going to bring him in before he’s ready to leave. But he can’t outmatch most teens or adults in Conton City in terms of brute strength. 

This is just for funzies, I don’t expect things to be super serious, or to write serious fights.

“Ta-dah! Say cheese! ….Get it? Cause it’s a cheese plate?

Uh,”

Raditz’s burning glare was beginning to make her sweat. “W-Would ya like some, sir?”

Raditz sighed at the young woman’s awkward attempt at humor. “You’ve gone out of your way to come find me to bring me cheese.” The statement was followed up by him uncrossing his arms and reaching out to take the cheese plate away from her with the intent on eating every piece. “Shouldn’t you be training with a mentor or preparing for a patroller mission? What’s your reason for coming out here with food? Trying to butter me up? Bribe me? What?”

"...Have you ever tried to braid your hair?"

If any of the other patrollers came up to him asking this question, he might not have answered. However, Mariko was his trusty number one minion student. So for her he did give an answer. Although his “neutral” frown was still plastered on his face while giving that answer. 

“I have done that before. Usually just collecting my hair into one braid to deal with less tangles in the morning if I can sleep in a bed. Or when I take a bath when I don’t need to wash my hair. Why are you asking?”

“Do you think if we met differently, we’d be friends?”

“No.” That answer came out with full confidence. “I’m not exactly friend material. At best I’m a useful ally.”

“Ugh, that month long break from Earthling holidays wasn’t long enough. Now there’s another one? What sort of nonsense is THIS holiday supposed to celebrate?”
