Disponível no canal oficial do cantor no YouTube.
A Canção

160: The Grace Thrillers // By the Grace of God
By the Grace of God The Grace Thrillers 1978, Showers of Blessings
Formed in 1971, Jamaica’s Grace Thrillers have been at it for over 50 years at this point, with a constantly shifting membership based around manager/director Noel Willis. I don’t have much context for what it means to be one of Jamaica’s biggest gospel acts, but the list of achievements their press releases boast is certainly colourful:
“…representing the Caribbean in the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) sponsored World Gospel Festival in Chicago, the USA in 1984; the Rainbow Production Award for Most Consistent Gospel Group and Best Gospel Album, in 1986; Tibby’s Auto Supplies Award for Spiritual Ministry through Music and Song; Rockers Award for Best Gospel Album in 1988 and 1992; the Jamaica Music Industry Award for Best Performing Gospel Group and, in 1991, the mayor of Opa-Locka, Florida proclaimed July 1 as ‘Grace Thrillers Day’.”
youtube
Opa-Locka! Tibby’s Auto Supplies! I feel like I’m reading a Carl Hiaasen novel. Anyway, while my background check on the Thrillers suggests they made a turn towards more reggae-inflected sounds in the ‘80s and scored some crossover hits, as of 1978’s By the Grace of God their stock in trade was surprisingly countrified American-style gospel music. Covers here include the Louvin Brothers’ “Satan is Real” and Dottie Rambo’s “Tear Drops (Tears Will Never Stain the Streets of Glory),” to give you a sense of how straight up and down Americanized we’re talking here, and the arrangements abound with slide guitar and bluesy rhythms. There’s some variety: “I’ve Got Something” takes a nice side-step into AM radio pop R&B, with some giddy ya-ya girl group harmonies. The six (uncredited) female singers have an appealing rawness throughout, and their accents make for a nice contrast with this music—it’s perfectly pleasant listening, with a naturalistic production style that makes it feel homey. Recommended background music for mending clothes, finally doing dishes, or nursing a hangover.
P.S. Love the cover of the CD-era reissue, which makes it look like a Godflesh album or something.

"In The Garden" is a song by Charles Austin Miles. Sometimes this song is also hinted at by its first line, which is "I Come To The Garden Alone". Miles (1868 – 1946) was an American songwriter who had also worked as a pharmacist, editor, and manager. According to Miles' great-granddaughter, the song was written in a cold, dreary, and leaky New Jersey basement. This title deals with the personal encounter with God in prayer.

not to carry on with my "lucy and edmund step into susan and peter's roles during the events of votdt" but in "prince caspian" we saw the pevensie siblings consistently falling into their throne order whenever they were near each other, always standing in that specific order whether on purpose or subconciously. throughout "voyage of the dawn treader", lucy and edmund continue that, only this time, thye fall into susan and peter's positions in the throne order, with lucy almost always standing on edmund's right side just as susan stood on peter's right.
but i think another detail, specifically in this shot from the end of the movie, is caspian standing in lucy's original spot, and eustace standing in edmund's original spot. caspian, who came into narnia as a stranger, and stepped into the role of king with ease, and who loves narnia and the narnians more than anything, and who vows to be a better king for his people. eustace, who was on edge, angry, and doubtful of everything around him for the first half of the movie, whose experiences changed him into a better person with the capability of connecting with his cousins.
#ALSO not to go back to my narnia characters + which apostles they are#but caspian and lucy representing matthew and john respectively#aka the two gospel writers#caspian and lucy who are the most devoted to narnia and the preservation of the country and the people#also whoever said eustace was saul/paul in that post you're SO right#hearth overanalyzes#chronicles of narnia#the voyage of the dawn treader#lucy pevensie#edmund pevensie#prince caspian#eustace scrubb

There’s this white person on TikTok demanding to know what rap album deserves a Pulitzer and I just…y’all’s attitude towards rap and the way yall treat it as an art form is why Black ppl feel some type of way about white ppl every time yall open your mouths to speak on. You’re disrespectful and a good majority of the time yall don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re uneducated and racist. Yes I said racist, cuz calling classical music sophisticated in the same breath is unacceptable. Yall do this with every Black genre. Spirituals, jazz, swing, the blues, country, and rock n roll to name a few were considered “devils music” and “unsophisticated” until white ppl started doing it. Then it was the greatest thing in the freaking world. Once a colonizer always a colonizer I guess.🙄
