i've talked about the compulsive need to be "critical" (read: negative) and defensive when talking about things that you like. like knowing only how to praise things by berating other things. but there's another flavor of that: comparing them to some hypothetical perfect ideal.
even in my carefully curated sources for reactions to the mp100 finale, everyone felt the need to comment on if dimple coming back was the "right" thing to happen. few even said that the only thing they'd change in the story would be keeping him dead. everyone said him coming back felt right in context, but it would be the one small detail they would prefer to have happened differently.
a question came to me. does that preference actually have anything to do with mp100 and this specific instance of a dead character coming back? or is it because other series have used this trope, this tool, in unsatisfying ways? because it's the thing to do, to say that they should have stayed dead? it's an easy criticism, and often a fair one, after all.
but if mp100 was a story where dimple didn't come back, it would be a completely different story. it would be a harsh story, one where growing up comes with the cost of the magic dying out. dimple is mob's connection to the spiritual side of him, to the supernatural part of the world, like reigen is to the mundane and human. him staying dead would have read as that connection starting to fade. it would have made the ending read more as mob giving up his powers and moving past them, instead of accepting them as just a part of him, just a part of the world.
dimple's death, even as temporary, wasn't meaningless to the structure of the story. imagine if dimple was there when mob got hit by the car. would any of the final arc have happened? his absence might have felt minor, but he was a load bearing wall in mob's circle of friends. imagine if he was there to possess mob before shigeo stood up, or was talking there in the blank space of his mind like he is when he reappears. would the events have progressed unchanged?
the emotional impact of his death wasn't cheapened by his return, because dimple wasn't killed off to tug at the audience's heart strings. he was killed off to make mob vulnerable enough so that when things went wrong, they went really, really wrong, and the climax of the story could happen.
he came back, because sometimes people do come back, and mp100 was always supposed to be a kind and hopeful story. he came back, because without him coming back, the emotional resolution to the story would not be what it is.
and it's okay to prefer those other kinds of stories, those other kinds of resolutions. but mp100 is not one of those, and never tried to have a conclusion like that, and dimple coming back isn't a small detail but a necessary part of achieving that.
you are allowed to enjoy it on its own merits.
#mp100 spoilers#it's completely fair if mp100 and the type of story it is isn't your cup of tea!#and negative criticism isn't wrong at all#once again im wondering what makes us talk about things we like in this way#on the defense always hurrying to be the first one to rip it apart#before others can ridicule us for it#i mean i do know it's the whole cringe thing and bullying trauma and all that#being surrounded by people like emi's false friends in season 2#anyway the actual small detail i would like to change in mp100 was the various stereotyping etc#that's a truly cosmetic detail that wouldn't change the story at all#like not stereotyping like how mp100 is a comedy that uses exaggeration and typing as its narrative tools#but the few insensitive things stemming from lack of awareness of certain issues#for the rest of it i love it to bits#and a lot of it i hold up as examples of mastery in the craft#anyway might write later about some more personal feelings re dimple

web of wyrd: annual energies and potential surgeries associated with the year
the outer rim of the wyrd web foretells the themes of our year ahead. today i will be covering some common surgeries that tend to occur. in no way does one number mean a single surgery type. each number can mean different surgeries - multiple surgeries - no surgery... this is just what i associate medically with these energies and i have seen correlate with other charts when surgery occurred. your lack of a number correlation with an experience below does not mean to minimize your experience. this is a general hypothesis not a fact.
tw: sensitive topics like amputation, ivf, addiction, weight, physical trauma, and end of life care are included in post.
1 (the magician): laser surgery
skill, precision, and transformation. this technique uses precision tools to create change in the body.
2 (the high priestess): diagnostic surgery
intuition, secrets, and hidden knowledge. seeks to uncover hidden issues or provide clarity about a medical condition (will be common for 2000 baby around the time doctors start recommending colonoscopies and mammograms).
3 (the empress): fertility surgery
surgeries like in vitro fertilization (IVF) or other fertility-related procedures.
4 (the emperor): orthopedic surgery
structure and stability. anything involves bones, joints, and structural support of the body, resonates with this energy.
5 (the hierophant): cardiovascular or oral surgery
what maintains order/structure in the body a.k.a. anything dealing with the heart and blood flow. oral surgery is because of this card connection to the throat and sharing of beliefs which requires the mouth - it might be time for your wisdom teeth extraction.
6 (the lovers): cosmetic or reconstructive surgery
this is often elective surgery / chosen for personal reasons related to self-image.
7 (the chariot): neurosurgery
deals with the brain and nervous system (the body's control center), which aligns with the chariot's themes of mastery and control.
8 (strength): physical rehabilitation surgery
requires a lot of resilience as muscles and tendons aren't easy to heal...
9 (the hermit): gastrointestinal surgery
involves the digestive system, relates to the internal processes and inner workings (aligning with hermit energy).
10 (the wheel of fortune): emergency surgery
often needed unexpectedly and dictated by fate, aligns with the theme of chance.
11 (justice): corrective surgery
aims to fix or balance out bodily functions or appearance, mirrors the themes of rectifying and balancing.
12 (the hanged man): organ transplant
sacrifice, suspension, and new perspectives. transplant surgery involves the sacrifice of one organ for the life of another, offering a new lease on life.
13 (death): amputation
a literal removal or ending of a part of the body, that can also lead to a transformative process of healing and adapting.
14 (temperance) : bariatric surgery
used to achieve weight balance and improve health.
15 (the devil): addiction, breast reduction, and reproductive surgery
surgeries that address addiction-related issues, such as gastric banding for overeating. but also reproductive surgery like a tubal ligation or vasectomy. any surgery where something big/open becomes small, constricted, snipped, or thinned.
16 (tower): trauma surgery
sudden upheaval, destruction, and revelation. this type of surgery is often performed in response to sudden, life-altering accidents or injuries, echoes the energies themes of sudden change and crisis.
17 (the star): reconstructive/plastic surgery
hope, healing, and renewal are themes of this energy - this surgery which restores form and function after trauma or illness, aligns with the themes of healing and rejuvenation.
18 (the moon): biopsies and tissue collections
biopsy involves extracting tissue to investigate potential issues, often when there’s uncertainty about a diagnosis or the presence of something hidden (like tumors or other abnormalities).
19 (the sun): pediatric surgery
performed on children and ensures their health and vitality, which connects with the energy's themes of life, energy, and well-being.
20 (judgment): organ transplant or some other life changing/saving surgery
life-saving surgeries, such as heart or organ transplants, can offer a second chance at life, reflecting the energy's themes of renewal and awakening.
21 (the world): making a full recovery or end-of-life care
surgeries that lead to a full recovery or decisions around end-of-life care align with the themes of closure and achieving a state of completeness found with this energy.
22 (the fool): exploratory surgery
represents the unknown. aligns with entering a medical situation without knowing what will be found.

Kylie Jenner - Chart Analysis
My observations and interpretation of her chart:
Sun in Leo, Moon in Scorpio, Capricorn Rising
Leo Sun: She is a star. In her own way.
Capricorn Rising: Gives her a(n) entrepreneurial and serious look.
Venus in 8th house: Love could feel like it’s hard to find. She may find foreigners appealing for dating. Virgo Venus can indicate someone who is picky with who she decides to date or even fall in love with. She values health and Mercury feels at home in Virgo. Her mind is well grounded, however, having Venus conjunct Mercury could mean a bit of difficulty in love because the person with this placement can become too analytical or focus too much on the smallest details (or flaws) in the relationship. Mercury reigns communication, so she can have a very controlled way of speaking with the sign it is in.
I think she struggles with her emotions and how she handles negative ones.
Moon square Uranus, Jupiter, and the Sun: I don’t think she feels safe around men and that has to do with her relationship with her father.
Sun square Moon: Dad and mom are not together.
Venus trine Saturn: Confident in herself in spite of the critiques and bullying she’s suffered in the past.
Taurus cusp in her 5th house indicates a lavish lifestyle and Venus in the 8th house (pretty close to the 9th house of travel and education). Lots of traveling to beautiful places.
She might feel insecure about expressing her emotions, especially in public.
She’s too focused on sounding perfect with her words, just like a Virgo does, choosing carefully what to say when she’s getting interviewed or questioned.
Such an entrepreneur. In her early environment, I think Kylie was restricted from having fun (in a way) and instead probably told to look great. Work her body out or change something about it. I only think this because she’s got an Aries Saturn and the cusp of her 4th house/IC is in Aries. Aries is still the 1st house and rules the body and self. And I feel like fame has truly shaped (quite literally) her body and the idea/view of herself (Neptune square Saturn).
Lots of red aspects to her personal placements, especially her Moon. Scorpio Moon can indicate having a powerful mom, in terms of social circles and knowing the right people/connections. Moon square Jupiter can mean not seeing her worth because of her origins and where she comes from. She comes from a rich family, so her achievements may feel like she didn’t really earn them. There is a part of her that probably feels that way.
Not focusing on talking about the degrees in the charts, but I found pointing out that her Midheaven is at the 29th degree (anaretic degree) can mean she has reached a level of mastery at what people wanted from her and in her career. She’s famous, rich, popular, and is leaving a legacy for millions and millions of women who are into beauty and makeup for generations to come. She’s mastered her career and made something long-lasting of it, which is her beauty business brand, Kylie Cosmetics.
The early home environment was or perhaps still is somewhat chaotic. And the chaos is exposed in the public.
The ruler of her Aries IC cusp is at the opposite end, in Libra. Libra Mars: There is a certain balance in her career that is lacking in the home. She truly needs someone who can ground her into the home and what she needs, for instance, someone with Taurus placements would be really good for her.
North Node in the 8th house: Leaving a legacy. Securing properties and real estate owned by her.
Mercury-Venus conjunct: Using her mind and beauty to build money.
Neptune in 1st house: Iconic, icon… fame through business venues.
She needs to be careful of making deals with the wrong people because it could affect her business. She’s a person who works really hard for what she wants in a detailed-oriented manner. I think she feels more confident and in her power when she’s around people with a progressive way of thinking and who keep up with the modern trends. Modern and newest.
She must feel lonely when it comes to romantic and intimate relationships because she tends to be of service in her relationships. I feel like the men she’s been with take advantage of that. One of the reasons I believe Virgos should have higher standards. Many of them have really high standards that can take them to a lonely place for a very long time until they realize they deserve to be served as well in the same way they make themselves available to others.
There may be times when she puts her mind before the heart. What she should do for her image instead of what makes her happy. There is a mild level of difficulty with this placement (Venus conjunct Mercury). There are two nice aspects to her Venus if we don’t take into account the Mercury-Venus conjunction. First, she has Saturn trine Venus, which can indicate someone who was raised with a nice value system or developed her own value system from a place of maturity. Second, Neptune trines Venus, which gives Kylie this soft and sort of fantasy-like beauty.
Moon conjunct Pluto: Controlling mother… Moon in Scorpio is not easy. The ruler of her Moon’s sign is in the 10th house and 11th house, so a well-known mother. Kylie has a lot of power when it comes to networking and knowing who to work with in the media.
Another thing to point out Libra is the aesthetics and glamour. Mars is a planet of action and stamina. Mars is also considered the physical body, so the physical aesthetics have made her truly famous. Nonetheless, if it helps boost her career, who cares right? But the thing is that these physical aesthetics can be seen as merely superficial and people may not see her as for who she is but as a prototype that was modified to bolster her image and career.
And I think she knows her body is not who she is, but she needs to maintain her family’s legacy.
Moon in Scorpio: Absent mother in the sense that mom might not have been there to nurture Kylie the way she needed. Mom might be a busy one.
Moon square Uranus: Her emotional processes in the house of reputation and the planet of chaos/innovation in the house of the self can indicate someone’s life and career bared naked in full exposure to the public affecting one’s image and progress. I have a feeling that she doesn’t feel like her real self in her own body.
Saturn in the 3rd house is difficult. I personally have this placement in a different sign, of course. Saturn here can indicate problems with peers and schooling, or trouble learning a subject or in general. Problems with speech, for example, not being able to say a word or letter in the proper manner.
Mars conjunct the Midheaven: Someone who uses their ambition to push their career forward.
Aries IC: Probably very competitive in the early household. She may have been bullied in school or even in the home. However, there’s a grounding level of maturity that comes with age as she realizes that she’s not what she was told or named.
Balancing her assets, having control of her image and preserving her legacy is what she should focus on.

i'm thinking of getting into gw2, is it true that it feels less addictive than other mmos? i want a game where i can have fun exploring like in botw but i don't want to feel like i have to spend all my free time doing dailies and upgrading gear and stuff
the good news for you is gw2 has no 'gear treadmill' - reaching maximum level is its Prologue, and any gear you can equip at that point will remain just as optimal as it is then for the rest of the game, for all time. you can equip the best gear, go on hiatus for several years, and come back, and it will still be the best, most relevant gear in the game. so it's not beholden to the situation in many mmorpgs where progressively 'better' gear is released in the interim, meaning you will have catch-up work to do.
a lot of gameplay progress also unlocks account wide (vs. being restricted to individual characters), so if you grind once to obtain a cosmetic, mastery skill, or mount on one character, it will automatically become available on all your alt characters, regardless of their own level or progress. if you're someone who enjoys multiple characters in an mmo, there are many tasks that you will never have to repeat in order to have them on a different character unless you want to experience them again.
though it's not a game bereft of the potential for tedious grinding. these things are more intended by the devs to be optional long term projects, but there are dailies and weeklies or optimal farming areas where abiding by these can shorten what already may be a literal months long grind for your project, so you may feel compelled to follow these routines. this is mostly endgame content that players seeking stuff to do will pick up, and i don't think this really clips into the first time story / exploration experience of a newer player. in fact, a lot of the currency for stuff like this can be accumulated by just spending time around the maps doing whatever you like, so by the time a lot of players decide to pick up legendary crafting, for example, they'll find they already have passively accumulated a nice chunk of what they need.
largely it's stuff that is not mandatory to the game. my biggest grievance is that flying mounts are locked behind moderately rough grinds because they were meant to be a sort of high-end, optional novelty, but with so many years elapsed since their release, so many players have them that they have become optimal for keeping up with the group in a lot of farming maps. this is one case where though you can technically navigate the maps without a flying mount, you may feel obligated by the social landscape to do this 'optional' grind anyway.
SORRY my long post. the game itself is quite casual and lenient. it wants anyone to be able to participate in its story and maps. whether or not there is time-eating grind in the game will ultimately depend on what you choose to pursue in it. it's definitely possible to play without it, but where it's there, it is definitely there. i would encourage new players to not even look into farming until they're all caught up with the storyline etc., as the more perks / skills / maps you unlock over the course of it, the easier and easier efficient farming will get. it will feel much more hostile when attempted by someone just starting out, and you don't need that stuff to play through all the content.

nora i CANNOT afford (timewise) another mmo but you're making gw sound really fun. is the new player experience good? how is it playing multiple characters? I'm on NA so i'd probably make an EU char and an NA char also eventually
the new player experience is excellent! gw2's horizontal progression makes it so even low level areas are somewhat populated still which i much prefer to mmos where half the maps are dead as fuck cause everyone's just in endgame zones. like i said before the main issue with starting out in the game is just it might be a little confusing cause they don't really explain much and there's a million options of things to do, but if you just do whatever seems fun and don't worry about the rest it's a good time lmao. as for multiple characters gw2 is probably the most alt friendly mmo out there but your server is per account not per character so to play in different regions you'd need two accounts (which i've got tbf though my na one is mostly used for login rewards thus far lol) or there's always the option to change regions with gems which like kinda sucks i feel like you should be able to do it for free but whatever
i do recommend playing multiple characters anyway though just cause it's fun, they really make it sooo easy compared to some games bc most progression (except like levels and gear) is account wide. like mounts are account wide, money, achievements, cosmetic unlocks, mastery levels (what you use your exp on after hitting lvl 80) etc etc are all shared between characters. i say all this knowing full well i spend 97% of my time on my main but yknow,,,,

zoroark :3c
#570-571: Zorua and Zoroark
(note: Zorua and Zoroark are similar enough i can lump it as a single entry. BUT Hisuian Zorua/Zoroark are so drastically different they'll need a separate entry later.)
Temperament - They are extremely wary of humans and other pokemon, so you need to build up trust with them, and it's likely they will often try to hide from you or mess with you often at first, however once they warm up to you and form a bond, they'll be very loyal and extremely protective of you! (Which may cause problems if they become jealous...) Even afterwards, they will be so wary they'll try to stay in disguise around anyone they're not familiar with, so you may have to train them to leave a tell in their illusion you can recognize them by.
Anatomy - Zorua is a wonderfully fluffy fox with no typing side effects, a perfect cuddle buddy! Zoroark is the same but now 5ft tall and capable of returning your hugs! ...but keep an eye on those large claws.
Danger - While Zoroark look intimidating, they aren't directly dangerous at all and prefer to not get into a fight unless necessary... BUT! they still can cause you plenty of trouble if they decide to use illusions to lead you into danger or make you get lost, so a malicious or petty Zoroark can cause problems by tricking you into walking through poison ivy or something. Having complete trust with your Zoroark is very important!
Rarity - Due to their skill with illusion, it's extremely difficult to find them and as such they seem rare. Your best option, if you don't have the patience and dedication, is to find a reputable breeder who already has one to obtain an egg.
Ability - While a pokemon with mastery over illusion seems like it would be a lot of fun (and it is!) it's also a lot of potential trouble if they end up having mischievous ideas, especially if they take to disguising themself as you. ...oh actually, since they can append their illusions to others, you could potentially have them disguise you for gender validation. that sounds nice~
Special - It's rarely discussed, but Zoroark are extremely intelligent! They learn and mimic various habits and abilities to blend in better using illusions, and there's even evidence of Zoroark successfully learning human speech in order to communicate while in a human illusion. This would be one of many reasons they can make a great pet, because... come on, they can actually talk back! ...however, this also leads to other potential problems, such as what they could do while pretending to be you, paranoia against you and your zoroark because it blends in too well, legal issues of it doing tasks with/on your behalf, and of course, the moral question of owning a pokemon that's capable of acting and functioning fully on the level of a human.
Final Verdict: COMPLICATED
Zoroark as a pet provides a very unique situation that makes it very tricky to properly categorize, because on one hand it's very cuddly and would make one of the best friends you've ever had, but on the other hand, there is so much that could go wrong depending on your bonds with them and what they're willing to do with their skills at illusion. What seems like a mostly cosmetic skill in battle is extremely powerful for infiltrating and taking advantage of human society. I wouldn't be surprised if there's conspiracy theories about which celebrities or public figures are actually well-established zoroark.

do you have any tips for someone who wants to get into warframe for the first time?
- don’t start with the duviri/drifter quest when given the option. it’s cool, don’t get me wrong, but it will be very confusing and you won’t revisit any of the stuff that’s touched upon until way way later in the game. start off in the origin system, the story progresses a lot more naturally from that start point. i don’t really know why they made this an option.
- you dont HAVE to buy platinum. they start you off with like 50 i think? it’s not necessary for anything aside from buying additional warframe/weapon slots. everything else is cosmetic or optional. you can get mroe plat later on by trading with other players (if you do want to buy plat for cosmetics or whatever, i recommend waiting until you get a discount as your daily login bonus. iirc they range from 25, 50, or 75% off. they’re pretty much entirely random though so don’t feel obligated to use one if you do get it and don’t need plat at the moment so it goes to waste. you’ll get another)
- even if you decide you don’t like a weapon you end up crafting, you’ll be better off if you level it up to the maximum rank (30) before selling it rather than trashing it outright, that way you won’t have to go back and get it again later on in the game in order to complete it. the more stuff you level in full, the faster you progress through mastery ranks, and some stuff is mastery rank locked so you’re gonna wanna pay attention to your progress.
- you’re gonna wanna join a clan as soon as possible. you can find some via the recruiting channel, or probably by asking around on social media, idk. i started my own (not recommended unless you’ve got a group of friends you can rally or feel like recruiting to fill out your ranks in order to actually get stuff done) so i don’t really know what the clan recruiting scene looks like. having access to a clan dojo makes life a lot easier (and can make finding people to play with less of a hassle too)
- the story itself doesn’t really pick up steam until you start the ‘natah’ quest. in between the start and there, you’ll mostly be doing a lot of running around trying to familiarize yourself with the setting and playing catch-up. don’t worry too much about all the stuff they throw at you all at once. almost all the quests are replayable through your codex if you ever want to refresh your memory, and for those that aren’t, the wiki is… usually a pretty decent source as far as summaries go. i’d take it with a grain of salt though.
- this one especially tripped my sister up so i’m gonna touch on it: you’re going to be required to do the ‘heart of deimos’ quest in order to progress past mars on the star chart. IMHO, this quest REALLY should not be mandatory so early on in the game — you aren’t going to be able to make heads or tails of anything anyone is telling you. don’t be afraid to breeze thru it w/o paying much attention and circle back around later in the game, preferably sometime after you finish the war within or at LEAST the second dream. i genuinely don’t know why they’re throwing baby tenno to the wolves on this one. just know it’ll all make sense later i prommy
- don’t worry too much about the open world areas like the orb vallis, the plains of eidolon, or the cambion drift at first. they’re very cool (and you’ll be introduced to them via their respective quests) but they can be overwhelming to new players and the difficulty spike might be frustrating, especially before you’ve unlocked a majority of the tools available to you.
- this game has been ongoing for over ten years at this point - there’s a LOT going on. take your time progressing at a comfortable pace. don’t be afraid to ask around for help if you’re stuck on something or getting frustrated trying to farm a specific part or material.
- if people try to talk down on you for being a lower mastery rank or w/e they’re literally just being an asshole. MR isn’t indicative of skill so much as it is a representation of how much gear you’ve leveled, which is basically just an indicator of how much time you’ve spent playing - a chimp smacking a keyboard can feasibly hit legendary after enough attempts. you’re fine. hell, i’ve been here since 2013 and i’m only MR 19 LMAO
- the ‘meta’ for this game is wildly subjective due to the vast customizability of builds. take everyone’s opinions with several grains of salt and don’t be afraid to experiment on your own to see what works for you
- dont read general chat. it’s not worth it. nobody in there is as funny as they think they are
- the most important part of being a tenno is having fun and being yourself :)

Note
please try to sell me gw2. i really want to like it and ive tried a couple times over the years to get into it, but every time my experience is like: walk for 5 irl minutes -> talk to someone -> kill 20 things -> random world events -> kill 50 things -> go back and talk to the person. rinse and repeat
and then i uninstall the game
Hard to sell it to ya when it's free to play ;0
As a new/returning player I honestly recommend going in with some friends. It's a game were you can absolutely solo PvE with the right build, but I always have more fun playing with my friends for the shenanigans. I also, 100%, recommend plopping an OC in the game. My first characters were both in-game and all their lore is based around GW2, but putting June in there has been hella fun to see how she would handle being in Tyria.
Your first 80 levels are basically to help get you accustom to the game mechanics and the story. Though the story is optional, I recommend playing it so you get more of a feel of Tyria and the history. The story also leads you through the game an the map rather than just taking random quests as you explore. It's really the only mode that gives you a bit of direction in the game.
If you happen to get stuck or have any questions about the game, it's pretty safe to ask the map chat and usually people will help you out, especially in early maps. GW2 is a game that doesn't really teach you how to play, you learn as you go. There's also plenty of YT vids on how to get started and tutorials if you get stuck or suggestions of things to try out as you level. They've also updated the game fairly recently where you now have access to the Raptor mount without needing to have Path of Fire or doing the expansion, which is a HUGE quality of life change while you explore the early maps.
Once your toon hits level 80, that's when you unlock your mastery tracks that will allow you to do more of the endgame content and continue through the living story. Fractals, Raids, Dungeons, Strikes, World Bosses, Meta Trains, Gold Farming, PvP, WvW, FASHION WARS!!, There's a ton to do once you're set up, and again, lots of resources available to help you out (TaCO, GW2 Efficiency, Crafting Guides).
The world is unique. It feels lived in and ever expanding. The lore for all the playable races in the game is really interesting and they do a lot to subvert expectations from typical fantasy stories. Some things are a hit or miss for a lot of folks but there's so much to love about the game even my least favorite parts are like just mid to me compared to the parts I genuinely enjoy. My favorite expansion is Path of Fire + Season 4. The desert maps are my favorites followed by Maguma (begrudgingly). Cantha had grown on me a lot after a million Leviathan Farms for gold lol. THE SEASONAL EVENTS AHHH like again there's just so much to touch on but yeah the long and short of it is it IS a time sink at minimum to get to the more favored content, but even as a old player I still love making new toons and taking them through the early game content again just for fun.
But yeah, free to play, no subscriptions, all expansions are a one time purchase. You've got 10 years worth of content to explore and try out. It's a relatively inexpensive MMO (the expacs can be up to 50% off during certain yearly sales). An overall very helpful community. Any paid content is mostly cosmetics and convenience items, but nothing that gives you an advantage over other players. Basically everyone is grinding towards a similar end-goal, so you can always get the same gear as people through grinding. Nothing is really out of reach and people are always willing to help others out with multiplayer content.
I've been consistently playing for 8-9 years now. It's one of those game where I'm IN it for like a few months then may take a few months off until a holiday event I love is coming up and then I play for a few months again. It's probably the only other game I've sunk as much time into as Pokemon or Skyrim over the years (I jokingly call it Skyrim Online since ya'll won't catch me playing ESO). But yeah just, it's a game I never expected to play for this long and this consistently and it always feels fun to pick back up. Genuinely I do hope you give it another try. I've honestly had the most fun I've had in years with the wave of new and returning players jumping back into the game c:
#guild wars 2#that's a lot sorry I just really love the game hhh#they gave me fantasy Africa and did it WELL and that's all I ask

SURVEY RESULTS!!
So!! It's that time, folks! By the time this posts, the survey will have formally been closed. Thank you so, so much to the 65 participants. I never expected to get so many responses, and I owe the Warframe community big-time.
I am planning on eventually releasing platform-specific data as I compile it, alongside any other neat correlations I spot. I did this mostly for fun- the assignment's bar was low, but I took it pretty far because I enjoyed it- so I'm not a professional or anything at statistics! There will likely be inaccuracies, and I may occasionally miss data on accident.
So! This post is dedicated to sharing the data from all platforms. The data of everyone who participated is represented under the cut.
One more thing before I share the results! I want to give a massive shoutout to the following Tenno:
Operator Faolan (@decoyroid), Operator Bunny (@clockworkcrow), the Harrow Prime Operator/Kullervo Drifter, the person with the old Cephalon OC, Operator Lucille/Drifter Dove (the Accidentally Transgender Tenno), Operator Bird/Drifter Shrike (@aconfusedzephyr), the Wooden Puppet Warframe, The Gremlin Siblings, the person with several dozen warframe OCs (I'm calling you Costco bc you bought them in bulk it seems), Operator Mira (@yareli-warframe), the Mostly Dead Idiots person, the Infested Operator based on SCP-610, Fish Bait the Nezha, the author of the Symbiosis Trilogy, Operator Giraffe/Drifter Sarah, the Void Witch Operator, Meet and Starry, Limbo Umbra, Crab Frost, Operator Enara/Drifter Shrike (@ookamisoulreaper), Operator Ayatan, The Toothpick Tenno, Operator Kepler/Drifter Cam (@mythandlaur), and Operator Beth.
I adored hearing about your OCs, and it's always so good to see the community's creativity. I'm happy to do a little warframe sketch or something as thanks if you reach out to me in DMs.
With thanks aside, let's get to the data! :D

While the majority of masculine-presenting people reported an indifference to their Warframe's gender presentation, they tended to prefer masculine Warframes over feminine or androgynous Warframes.

Patch 5.0.0
And with this, the new version of Sburb (or whatever you call it) is live! Please update your game to this patch at your soonest convenience, because we do not have the capacity to handle old glitches. Migrate your Sessions to the 5.0.0, because we our old servers are decaying and if you do not want your Session to be erased from existence completely and retroactively, you need to be on this patch.
Known issues with migration: Some Quests reset or disappear completely with their NPCs. Classpect reassignment. Level reset. Prototyping scramble (Reassignment of prototyped properties between Players). Inability to use certain weapons because their strife specibus tag got changed.
Patch properties:
Prototyping: You no longer need to track your pre-Entry and post-Entry prototyping. First prototyping in each Sprite imbues the moon, the second affects only the sprite itself. Sentient creatures (living or otherwise) are no longer eligible for First Prototyping (thus putting an end to sprite^64+s multikins, because the code did not like that).
Prototyping, pt. 2: Frogs, First Guardians, neutrinos, non-physical entities, Charge entities, databases, and Aspect entities are no longer eligible for Prototyping at all. SkaiaNet reserves the right to remove eligibility for Prototyping to pieces of media and culture in the future without announcing it beforehand in order to maintain integrity and sensibility of the game and balanced gameplay. Itemised list of Prototyping ineligible objects and subjects will be accessible.
Code: General overhaul of inner math and handling of small (e-50+) and big (e+50) numbers. Furthermore, the surface code levels no longer needs physical properties to work, so you do not have to physically haul around brackets and commas. (That's probably more interesting for me than for you, but anyway, you can stop sending brackets now.)
Land generation: The possible Land Themes have been revisited. Most of the favorites of our Graphic Department have been permanently removed, with the honorable exception of Pots, which will now generate structures similar to Crockery.
All Lands will now generate as Land Of [Theme/Concept] And [Material/Structure], except for the Breeding Grounds which will always be Land Of [Material/Structure] And Frogs.
Each possible Land Theme now has an assigned tag whether it is Material, Structure, Theme or Concept. Frogs are tagged as Theme, which I am sure will be appreciated by anyone who had to deal with Consort settlements being build out of gigantic frog carcasses.
Land Variant Themes: Each Material/Structure Land Theme now gets two random modifiers out of six: Large (10% chance), Ruined (10% chance), Floating (5 % chance), Plentiful (5% chance), Colorful (5% chance), and Classic (65 % chance). These modifiers are invisible and only affects Land generation. Therefore you have 42.25% probability of having a "classic" Land, 57.75% chance that it will generate in its alternate variation. If your Land Theme generates two of the same modifiers, they do not add up, because we haven't figured out how to make floating stuff float more, and Colorful^2 gave yours truly a terrible headache upon testing.
Land generation: Internally Lands are now identifief by their generated number which is Session ID-PlayerNumber-LandTag1-LandTag2. Since no Player gets the same Land generated twice in on one session, this will solve a lot of problems.
Aspects: Aspects are receiving a cosmetic graphic overhaul and a large thematic overhaul. Aspects now have a pool of specific Aspect Abilities which anyone with the corresponding Aspect in their Classpect can use as long as they pass the conditions given by their Class.
Aspect Interpretation: For unified terminology and game balance, each Aspect has four possible interpretations AKA "stuff it does". You can specialize in one or two or generalize. Mastery of all four is obtainable by boring grinding. The interpretations are unofficially called: Literal, Lateral, Derived, and Elemental.
Aspect Names: With the thematic overhaul, some Aspects have been renamed to match better their visuals and also be more intuitive to use. These changes are: Rhyme -> Verse; Flow -> Roots; Law -> Chain; Stage -> Veil.
Classes: Classes are receiving an unifying overhaul in abilities. Each Class now has Class abilities which everyone with the corresponding Class in their Classpect can use, but its effect depends on their Aspect.
Dream Moons: The Revolution, Contra-Revolution, Fifth Game, and Usurper Questlines are now for once and for good only one per Moon.
Derse: You can no longer partake in a sexual act with the Dersites. For the record, you can't with Prospitians either, but that's never really been a problem.
Dersepite: No longer a thing, even in 1-Player Sessions. Goodbye, Dersepite, you shan't be missed.
Chapters: The game chapters (usually called stages) have been slightly reordered to be more intuitive, and also the connecting points have been de-cluttered and straightened, so now you should clearly know in which chapter you are, and where are you heading next. The chapers now go: Awakening -> Terraforming -> Reckoning -> Crystalizing -> Descending -> Ascending. [Aspect]ing has been fully merged with Ascending. Terraforming has been moved before Reckoning, because people generally try to tackle the Black King under-prepared. Descending has been moved as far back as possible, because feedback has been that everyone and their guardian units hate it, which, completely understandable. Reckoning still marks the end of the standard gameplay, from Crystalizing forward it's basically epilogue.
Accessibility: Besides improving the screen-reader and closed captions, the options menu now has Color Modes setting where you can pick your contrast and adjust color schemes display to suit your needs; there are pre-sets for the most common types of color-blindness. Screen-reader and text-to-speech still don't handle typing quirks. You have to ask your co-Players to stop.
Living Hell: Transfer to patch 5.0.0 isn't possible without general amnesty, so everyone stuck in Living Hell, regardless of their crimes, have been released. However, if you do not behave, LH still exists, and putting people there is actually rather easy.
Charges: Charge Influences no longer accumulate exponentially.
Charge Dormancy: Added Charge Dormancy value. Every game tick every Player’s every Charge Influence decreases by its respective Charge Dormancy. Charge Dormancy cannot be lower than zero. Some item tags have Charge Dormancy, they add up.
Grimdark, Angelight: As a result of Charge Dormancy being added, the Grimdark and Angelight Charges can be now dropped without dying.
#sgrub#sburb#sn tech support#patch 5.0.0#snts patch notes#i will now also attempt to tag more meticulously

Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway
I have been waiting to write about the Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway addition to arena for some time but I wanted to have a clear understanding of the new system before I commented. I wanted to have a rough idea about the number of tickets you could possibly earn and the rewards that you can redeem should you acquire the near maximum number of potential tickets. First, I will note that when I first saw this on Magic Arena, I almost snap purchased it. I thought it was going to be a mastery pass that you had to choose to opt into. I was fine with that as I would not expect to get free rewards both from the thunder junction mastery pass and this new pseudo mastery pass. Magic Arena does want you to believe that Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway is a mastery pass and offers the same type of benefits as when you purchase the completed mastery pass near the end of the season. No one is actually buying the mastery pass for a set before completing it or if it is about to end, right? As a result, I chose to wait. I can still obtain tickets and I can wait until the end of July to make a decision. That should give me plenty of time to think about my purchase and make an informed decision without FOMO. I do appreciate that. WOTC could have made you purchase the psychic hideaway immediately by not allowing you to obtain tickets unless you handed over the gems first. It does seem less forced as I can see if the tickets I have earned are worth the trade. I also like that this is something completely extra. If you only play standard and do not want anything to do with Modern Horizons 3 then you are not forced to complete a summer mastery pass for a non-standard legal set. How many people liked slugging through the Baldur's Gate mastery pass which contained many cards that were only legal in alchemy formats? However, are the rewards in the hideaway worth the 2800 gems? That is a HUGE amount of gems to spend in one shot. Also, you select the rewards you want instead of just obtaining certain rewards at certain levels like with the mastery pass. There are a ton of aesthetic rewards but these cosmetics have no impact on gameplay. I already have a bunch of different avatars, card art styles, and sleeves. These useless cosmetics mean nothing to me and are worthless to me. I would not spend a single gem, ticket, or gold on a cosmetic item, but I do recognize that they are very popular. My friend said that the only item he wants from the hideaway is the ullamog avatar and I expressed disgust at spending so many gems for such a superficial reward but you know he is not alone in his thoughts and desires. How many people will fork over 2800 gems just for all the new bling? You know they will rerelease these aesthetics again down the line in alternate forms. So, is nothing worthwhile? Well, you can get a draft token typically valued at 1500 gems. OK. Now we are talking! Based on my low level math skills, you should be able to buy several draft tokens even if you do not maximize the number of tickets you get everyday. If you are able to get even two tokens then you profited off of the psychic frog! Unfortunately, the arena team saw through this. Most rewards are limited to a single purchase and you can only get one draft token. If you could purchase an unlimited number of draft tokens, I would have already purchased the hideaway, bought a couple draft tokens, and I would have been drafting MH3. Instead, I am waiting until the very last week to make up my mind. You can also get a maximum of 8 modern horizons 3 packs. You can also get 10 mythic rare rewards. I would first get the token, then the packs, then the mythic rare cards. I believe I will be able to easily purchase all of these items and still have tickets left over. Since these few items are the only items I consider actually worth currency then you must decide if these rewards are worth 2800 gems. I say that the 8 packs are worth approximately 1000 gems and the mythic rare rewards are about 300 gems. I have to decide if this is worth it for me. Is this purchase worth it to you?
