I fucking hate it when people say this crap. They say that because 98% of the people who played sdv haven’t played a farming sim before. Heck, they don’t even know what harvest moon or story of seasons was for years because it’s a niche series and don’t even know that the series had a split! I seen this happen so many times in the past to various genres of media and it had nothing to do with the series quality (sailor moon and other magical girl anime, earthbound and Undertale). It’s just a dumb take to say this like there wasn’t any other factor here to why one got popular while the other similar one who came first didn’t.

Plus comparing one game that is over 5 years old to three recent games that could out isn’t a good comparison. Especially since all those games were called “sdv clones” by idiots and think that just because they played sdv first means it’s the very first farming sim ( even dumber when you remember that two of the three recent games were remakes of games that existed long before sdv)

Also, that’s literally what they tried to do with poot by trying to follow sdv formula ( no crop or animal festivals, bland characters and grinding) and guess what? Everyone in the fandom hated that game because it’s so far removed from what the series is known for and sdv stans hate it because it’s not sdv (which is why trying to appeal to them was a mistake in the first place and waste of time). So the last thing this series needs is to copy another farming sim game or “catch up” with the rest. I would hate this game series if they tried to be anything like clunky Minecraft: story of seasons edition.

guys i don't care what adobe corporate is doing, there is literally nothing they can do that would make recommending Gimp as a Photoshop alternative anything other than a sick joke at the expense of people who don't know better. Adobe could announce that every picture you draw in Photoshop is now being harvested to power their baby-boiling machine, and the correct response would still be continuing to pirate a cracked version of Photoshop from before they made those changes (or just blocking the relevant port with a firewall rule). friends don't let friends use Gimp
