Finished this raven skull knuckle ring in copper, with silver detailing, and set with a malachite cabochon. Finish is a little bit rough, but then we kept on fucking things up an needing to reposition joints. Which meant the copper got so heat oxidised that it ended up pitting. Still we managed to make the hinge mechanism with less trouble than anticipated and its a personal piece so we don't care about less than perfect finish.
Also, teeny tiny hammer got to do her thing

Description
Nancy Parsons was one of the most famous courtesans of the eighteenth century. Her aristocratic clients included the young Duke of Grafton, prime minister between 1768 and 1770. Parsons was often seen with the married duke in public until they split in 1769, something that attracted criticism but which also gave them both an aura of transgressive glamour. Her image circulated widely in everything from fine engravings to scurrilous satirical prints. In this seductive portrait by George Willison, she is represented “à la Turque,” that is, in a fanciful western appropriation of Ottoman costume at a time when the Ottoman Empire was regarded as decadent, enervated by luxury and pleasure. Parsons had taken the Duke of Dorset as her lover when Willison painted this portrait, and it was reproduced immediately in mezzotint by the Irish engraver James Watson.

Finally finished another scarf! Its been on my loom since December and also I think its possessed by the devil maybe. Motivation to work on this was so scarce, the weft I used is so thin that it felt like I was never making any progress, and due to a mistake I must’ve made while putting the warp on, I had some really fun tension issues almost the entire time :))))) You can definitely still see how the scarf is kinda warpy, haha. That being said, I’m still really proud of this, and happy that I can finally tackle some other projects!! (I am finally free…)

I love how many questions I'm plagued by when reading these texts. "In the Mediterranean, the most organized concentrated arrangement of copper smelting developed on the island of Cyprus. ... Cypriot copper galvanized a new era of trade among various parts of the region." (pg 24)
WHY. My first instinct is that Cypriot copper had a naturally low content of arsenic in it, which was better for tools (?) if I remember correctly. Usually copper smelted with arsenic is more malleable. Bronze Age peoples knew how to eliminate and add arsenic when valuable for the right As content. But I don't actually know that because he just says it was used for sculptures, tools, and utensils; no theories about why it was valued in particular.
Mostly putting on my list to visit Cyprus smelters though; Cyprus was already on my list because the structural geology is fun there, but smelters are a ++

Realistically none of my OCs would ever be around a megastar enough to befriend them because they're all just kind of. Normal people. And I don't think any of them would get along either. Unless it's with the Sayu team I guess but I cant see any of the others being particularly sociable- especially with people who hate NSR so much. KVN would kick any Megastar's ass free of charge. At least he'd try.

not liking minecraft copper is a red flag to me, especially if the given reason is 'its useless'
my brother in this universe, its a building block in the building with blocks game
#how can you not like a block that changes colors and can either be a nice orange or a pretty teal ?! or even a weird inbetween if you want#the only criticism i will hear is that you need waaay too many of the ore to make really any build with it#because oh my goodness ive tried to make whole bases out of it before and wow it is such a task#a worth it task but still what a task#mc#minecraft#my post#also you can make lightning rods or spyglasses with them#and i personally like those. theyre fun#i used to know someone who insisted to death that copper was useless#but they were one of those players who was entirely and only into tech mods and basically nothing else about minecraft#and would only ever build by digging holes in the ground and that was their forever base#so like... yeah buddy of course you think copper is useless. most things in mc are useless to you#like the sun and fresh air#so little light in those holes you live in that a red flag is just a piece of fabric in your way

As PCBs de alumínio são PCBs comuns de substrato metálico isolado (IMSPCB) amplamente usadas para luzes LED, iluminação automotiva e outras aplicações de alta condutividade térmica. A condutividade térmica das PCBs de alumínio é geralmente de 1W/mK ou 2W/mK. Se a condutividade térmica de uma PCB de alumínio não puder atender aos requisitos esperados de sua aplicação, por que não considerar PCBs à base de cobre?
As PCBs com base de cobre têm melhor condutividade térmica do que as PCBs de alumínio e oferecem muito mais possibilidades de design.
Uma PCB com base de cobre é uma PCB com núcleo de metal e substrato de cobre. Se uma PCB híbrida cujo substrato é uma placa de cobre embutida na placa FR4, ela também é uma PCB à base de cobre.
Normalmente, as PCBs à base de cobre têm a mesma estrutura das PCBs de alumínio - camada única, camada dupla com lado de montagem de componente único, camada dupla com lados de montagem de componente duplo e quatro camadas com lados de montagem de componente duplo. Eles também usam o mesmo material pré-impregnado para isolar as camadas de cobre. Entretanto, o substrato de cobre (398W/mK) tem melhor condutividade térmica do que o substrato de alumínio (237W/mK).
Além disso, há uma tecnologia de separação termoelétrica (também chamada de tecnologia de toque direto) para PCBs à base de cobre. Isso significa que, com a abertura da máscara de solda e a galvanoplastia de cobre para aumentar a espessura do cobre nas posições necessárias, o calor é conduzido diretamente dos LEDs ou de outros componentes para a base de cobre, enquanto a rede do circuito é independente da rede térmica.

Aplicações de PCBs à base de cobre
As PCBs à base de cobre são usadas para aplicações de alta potência, aplicações em áreas com grandes diferenças de temperatura e dissipação de calor para equipamentos de comunicação de precisão. Algumas aplicações de PCBs à base de cobre são:
Luzes de LED: as PCBs com base de cobre podem ser usadas para luzes de LED, especialmente luzes de LED COB. Os LEDs COB podem ser ligados às placas de LED por fios de ouro ou esferas de solda da PCBONLINE e, em seguida, o módulo de LED é montado na superfície da PCB com base de cobre para produzir as luzes de LED.
Iluminação automotiva: as PCBs de base de cobre com dupla face para montagem de componentes podem ser usadas para o farol de veículos. A PCB com base de cobre de dupla face proporciona alta eficiência, excelente dissipação de calor e um efeito de holofote superior. Tanto as PCBs de base de cobre comuns quanto as PCBs de separação termoelétrica podem servir para luzes automotivas.
Pilhas de carregamento para veículos elétricos: as PCBs à base de cobre podem ser usadas para as pilhas de carregamento de EVs e HEVs. Por exemplo, a placa adaptadora na pilha de carregamento de alta potência é uma PCB híbrida de cobre/FR4. Para fins de confiabilidade e segurança, no projeto da placa de circuito impresso, os circuitos de grande corrente e os circuitos de pequena corrente são separados. As áreas da placa de cobre conduzem grandes correntes e dissipam o calor, e as áreas de FR4 conduzem pequenas correntes e sinais.
Conclusão
As PCBs à base de cobre têm boa condutividade térmica e são usadas para dispositivos e sistemas de alta potência. Há PCBs comuns à base de cobre com condutividade térmica de 1W/mK a 9W/mK e PCBs à base de cobre de separação termoelétrica com condutividade térmica de 398W/mK. Para a fabricação e montagem de PCBs à base de cobre, considere o fabricante Hitech Circuits Co., Limited, que pode fabricar desde o protótipo até a produção em massa e oferecer uma fabricação econômica e de qualidade.
