Here's a controversial take: People need to stop whining about streetlights no longer being orange.

The human retina in much more sensitive to blue light.

When you're driving, cycling, walking, etc. at night... you want to be more alert. It is a streetlight's one and only job to provide you with a level of light that makes night-time travel safer for you and those around you.

Blue light keeps you alert, and it allows you to perceive more details with the same or less amount of light, compared to a warm light source.

People complain that the blue and white LEDs in streetlights are unsavory and uncomfortable... GOOD! You shouldn't feel comfortable and cozy while driving at night. You should be awake and alert.
