#Ooh I liked this one. The end of an (admittedly very brief) era: after this episode Eden is gone and the show moves into glaring colour#It's fitting then that this should wrap up the mystery surrounding the troika affair begun in ep 1 (or at least... Appears to wrap it up..)#It gives these first nine episodes their own distinct feel. Like a mini series self contained away from the rest of the show. Of course it#Isn't entirely self contained and just as some things are ending others are beginning: this is the first episode in which Moxon takes a#Really active role rather than passive onlooker and it's here we start to see the political chess games he is capable of. This becomes#(iirc) a defining element of the rest of the Nesbitt years. Moxon's machinations do however expose some slight hairline fractures in the#Plot: if Moxon and Co are fully aware of who leaked material to the press then why does Moxon allow Eden to believe he is the prime suspect#It just makes his job that much harder when Eden obviously refuses to lie down and take it and instead investigate. Moxon admonishes Eden#For his interference at the end of the ep but really it's entirely his own fault.. It's a pretty small gripe in the grand scheme of things#Tho. So. Farewell Supt. Eden. We quite literally hardly knew thee. May your years extension and secondment be fun and one day#Commemorated in extremely niche fanfiction.
It has David Collings in, so anything else escapes me! And never mind Eden, no more Jennifer Wilson! Dammit. ;-p
